The first few days it was great then I had sooo much trouble playing Movies there was all kinds of little bugs in it it was ugly and hard to get to work. IT was good when it worked half the time. I tried taking it back but the store told me to call SONY. Sony said"you have to send it in for repairs" I ask "how much?" 116.00 bucks when it was 1 month old?. . .whats with that I bought an Xbox I have had it for a month works when I want it to. I just beat Splinter Cell and I think Xbox is far far better than the PS2 (with a lousy hard drive,no Modem, and just ugly looking)I like XBOX better becuase it just plain old works and its great no complaints here

Halo is still the best game on X-Box. I still think there are some problems with it. I thought that it was really easy to get lost. I also thought that the remoting is very hard for a person that just made a switch from a PS2 to an X-box. The graphics are good but I think they could be a bit better. I like piloting the tanks and thing like that which make the game a lot cooler. Multiplayer is fun cause all the people that can play. The guns are sweet but I keep finding the same ones... I would not recomend buying Halo. The game is only fun when you can have 16 people playing together.

don't get mad at me for having this game on my HATE list. It's just the aliens that run around are nuts. MGS2 was MUCH better. I hate POV mode and always will. I like the MGS2 kind of bird$#< remove me > at ! splattering over my face, but hate the boring landscape of HALO. FYI, HALO is short for High Altitude, Low Opening. A type of parachute jump from a very high altitude. No, not from a diving board. In fact, 90% of the people who try it die. I did in the first 5 seconds of the game. So this game is true from a certain POV. 90% of the people who follow "follow me guy" get blown up at the beginning. Only reason i like this game: committing suicide. I love waiting at the bottom of a cliff while my friend launches the warthog off the cliff to smash me. This game barely has any realistic design. You jump off the cliff with the warthog and nothing happens if you have a "good landing." I suggest you get the PS2 for the same price, but a PS2 player, DVD player, and CD player. Tell me; what is more worth it? A system with no realistic design, or a system with mind-blowing realism, DVD playing realism, and realistic design. I suggest the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Metal Gear Solid 2, and PS2 combo. You have the two best games on the market for a resonable price.

This game is the best ever and will be the best until halo 2. The story, the graphics, the sound, the gameplay, the control(yes the control) are all perfect, if u think it's too big, then u gotta be 5 yrs old(note: it says mature on the box foo), and the multi etc are so incredibly perfect, this game musta taken alot of work and it deserves credit, i'da payed $150 if that's wut it had costed. the levels, the Huge maps and missions are incredible, every placement of every alien is perfect. The reason there are no bots in multi is b/c it would lag like hell, no system can handle 4 screens and aliens running around with awesome graphics like that, u'd have to degrade the quality to include bots unless they find a way around this prob in halo 2. Another good thing is that there aren't really any cheats in this game but there are alternate endings to missions, like the first snow one, u can snatch a banshee if u go really fast at the last bridge part and skip 1/3rd of the lev.
Yall who don't like this game can go to hell, those who've never played it, u dun kno wut yer missing.

Hi, I have just finished reading some of the comments on this page about halo, and Xbox and i would like so say first off that no game can touch halo, and a second thing is that ppl have been sayin all this crap about xbox and putting it down because of the controller and the size and the price and stuff, well i have a few things to say to those ppl. XBOX, as most ppl who have it already know, WAS BUILT to be an ONLINE, Repeat ONLINE gaming system, that is why its big, but its the same price as PS2, so whats there to complain about? :'( OHH BOO HOOO the controller is too big for my hand WAAAA:'(, quite your whining, just like every other system, you have to get used to new controllers. You think all controllers have stayed rectangular since the original Nintendo? NO they havent, controllers change and so do the systems. Also, ppl are saying that Ps2 comes DVD standard. Well yes that is tru, and i give playstation credit for that, BUT! Now that games are going online all the time, and from what i have been hearing, FFXI is gonna be Online only, to upgrade your PS2 to be even remotely good enough to play online, u my PS2 friends will have to Blow all your money on the upgrades for a HArd drive ( Xbox standard), an Ethernet Port ( Xbox standard) and pay the monthly bill for the Massive multi-player online games. So think about it, where is the gaming world going? Ill tell you where, ONLINE, so are u gonna be the one stuck to pay all that money for lousy upgrades, when u can get it all standard? i sure hope not

Halo is one of the best shooters in the gaming department. It has the best gameplay, graphics, and ratings I have ever seen in a shooter. I even caught my dad who said he hated it playing it from 10:30pm-1:45am trying it on legendary. I think it is impossible to hate. I don't know anyone in my town who dislikes it.

It was the 1st game I got for the Xbox. I 1st played it over at my friends house, at his birthday. Great graphics, great game-play, everything on it is awesome! I just can't wait until Halo 2!

Two years before the Xbox launched, I heard about a game called "Halo." It sounded interesting to me and before I knew what was going on, I was telling all my friends about this outstanding new game on the powerful Xbox. They didn't care too much at the time because of all the hype on PS2. Over the whole year of temptation to buy a PS2, I kept saying to myself that the reward would be great. Then, on November 14, 2001, I got in line to buy an Xbox. Midnight came and it was mine, all mine. I plugged it in, and shoved Halo into the drive. It started up, and the music came. The chorus of men singing a song that gave me a distinct feel of awe. I started the game after watching the action-packed cinematic. Honestly, I hated it. The controls were just too different from Goldeneye. I sighed and for a few minutes I thought about the option that I had had to buy a PS2. Then, without me knowing, the "Master Chief" practically reached out of my television screen, grabbed me, and put me into the spacecraft. I was in the game. This occured approximately THREE minutes after I started the game. That's it, there's nothing else to say that this IS the reason to buy an Xbox. Anyone that has ever wanted to blast through hundereds of aliens at once has no better place to look than on Xbox. After playing the game and beating it a few times, I decided to invite a few friends over to hook up two Xboxes. I can honestly say that I have never had this much excitement doing anything else in my life. You nieve people out there might say that I need to get a life, but these feelings that I have about Halo are not just my feelings. They are the feelings of MILLIONS of gamers out there that have Xboxes. I have never heard of anyone that has an Xbox that doesn't own Halo. Why Xbox? Here's your answer. Period.

I don't know why in the world everybody is so obsessed with this game. Its okay, but games like Vice City and GT3 are waaaayyy better. The only possible way to play and Xbox game is if you have 5 hands and 26 fingers. The controller sucks, though the new one is a little better. People, trust me, get a PS2. For Xbox, the games cost more, it is a big as a VCR, and if you get a PS2 you don't have to pay any money to have a DVD player. So trust me, go to your nearest store, throw away you Xbox and its crappy controller, and buy a PS2 w/ Vice City. Now THATS the life!

SINCE i bought this game all i do is HALO HALO HALO>..Then when I go to my friends house till 3 am, playing all 16 of us ...there is no time to go home...thats where my problem lies....Dont buy this game if you have a life becasue it will take over and control you.....As it did me and my friends 16 people 4 TV's why do anything else.........the end .

When I first saw this game I had no idea what it was about and thought it was stupid, however a minute or two at the controls of Master Chief and I couldnt wait to buy it. It was my favorite game a year ago and remains so. I cant wait for Halo 2 I have heard it is even better than Halo and from what I have seen I looks like it will be. But coming back to Halo, I cant believe people would give it bad reviews. I dont like 3rd person shooters because its not real enough. Halo has amazing graphics as well as realistic situations such as only being able to hold 2 weapons which is better than games like goldeneye where you can hold about 50. This game has changed video games forever and it holds the title of best game of the year. The only small flaw is the faces of the marines but that will all be changed in halo 2.

Must be the worst game I've ever played there are so many countless errors. Any other Game would be so much better. I was okay when I frist played it but in about five minutes it got so boring I can't belive I wasted my money on it. For everyone that doesn't want to waste their money DO NOT BUY THIS GAME (get your parent too).

This is the best game i have ever played in my life, and ive played alot of games.I give the graphics 10 out of 10 I give the sound 10 out of 10( if u have surround then you will agree) I give the Multi 8 out of 10 (NO BOTS?????? and no banshees?????) i give the gameplay 10 out of 10 and overall i give it a 9 and 3/4. If you are thinking about getting an xbox make sure u get Halo! (IT IS A SIN TO GET AN XBOX AND NOT GET HALO.!!!!!!!) see u on xbox live!!!!

This game was great, it had great gameplay, graphics and sound. The storyline was perfect and it leaves us wanting more. If you have played this game you are forced to go out and buy the book and you will go out and buy Halo 2 when it comes out. That is just how great the gameplay is. Even after you do beat it on all 4 difficulties the multiplayer is spectacular. I've often linked and played with 10 or more ppl and its addicting.

I'll start off by saying I had a PS2 and GTA 3, and I thought they were the best combo ever. I bought an Xbox for Christmas last year and Halo, and was blown away by how addictive the gameplay was. I ended up beating the game in roughly 4 months, but come back to play it mainly for the multiplayer. Now I know most people see downfall in the multiplayer of halo because the options have nothing on PD. BUT understand I live with 7 other people, we play system link Halo, GTA 3 has nothing on 16 player halo. When Xbox live is released in a week, all you people who have gaystation 2 should sell it and convert to halo and buy xbox live so you can experience the power of X

I just bought an Xbox and got Halo. Damn that game is cool. The graphics are really realistic and the detail is outstanding. It make me feel proud to be a soldier. Finally, a game that I can relate to. I recommend this game to everyone who has an Xbox, you won't regret it.

This game was defineitly a perfect 10. I loved this game after I beat it ounce I went on and beat it again. This game has some of the best graphics sound and gameplay that I have ever witnessed. The thing that keped me hooked woul;d have to be the awesome storyline. This game had asesome potential and it lived up to that potential. I would have to admit the game has a lot of levels, and talk about long levels. I've been trying to think of a flaw in this game but there really isn't one. The only possible thing that I can think of would have to be the last level, For me It was very frustrating I just could'nt find this one door. Any one one who does not have this game should defineitly get it. One thing that I have to say about this game it is not like most games. All lot of other games dont really give you a clear Idea of what they want you to do. But that Is not true in HALO Halo is perfect in every aspect that could possibly be. In my opinion for Halo 2 that is coming out in couple of weeks it will be good but no game can match up to HALO!

I think halo is a really good game. Working in a team has a lot of advantages, first of all if you don't see one of the aliens one of your team will probably kill it for you, when you ae in vehicles they can help you out by shooting other aliens as going along (but only if you are in a vehicle thay can carry more than one person), if one of your team mates die you can collect their ammo (always good if your low on ammo) and most of all they help you et through the game eaiser. This game does not have all good points though, when on multiplayer on the campain, when you walk through a checkpoint you teleport to another place; confusing you of where you are. The split-screen option is very good though and my favourite level is the sidewinder level with the snipers game type. So have I still not answered your question about is this a good game? well if you like first person shooters and games with aliens then yes if not no.

It was a rainy Friday evening when my best friend brought his X-box around with some game called "Halo". A week later I had a green and black box of my own.
However after having the game for a few months now, there are holes that have started to appear in the gameplay that I hope will be rectified in its Sequel. As another reviewer 'Murray' pointed out the biggest and most apparent pitfall is a lack of three or four player co-operative mode. It was with a sigh of relief I found out that Halo has a two player co-operative mode something that games like Goldeneye and Quake have lacked for years. However it would make a pleasant change to the endless amount of Cyborg vs Cyborg violence to have three mates along side blasting away flood or riding the oh-so-lovely Scorpion tank.
Another problem is after a while, playing Halo on your own gets well.....boring. It does have an interesting plot, fathomable characters and graphics that are worthy of what Microsoft have boasted. However, some levels tend to become long and dull and lately, I find myself sitting down to play a single player campaign and looking at levels like 'The Library' with a wince and a groan. Of course even levels like the one mentioned are fun when you have that x-boxing friend over. But if your like me and don't have anyone in your immediate household who is willing or skillfull enough to play it does become tedious. The stages tend to become long and once the game is completed I imagine most gamers screaming out for extra levels, hidden stages or unlockable cheat codes. Which brings me to my next gripe.
Upon searching around I have found there to be little to no known cheat codes for Halo. You know, those magical words like 'infinite ammo' and 'invulnerablity'. They would potentially add that extra spice that makes playing the game on Legendary mode a treat when an endless amount of plasma grenades are adhered to enemy grunts, elite or hunters. Unless Microsoft are holding out on us on the codes I would sincerley hope that more depth is created in the area of secrets and codes in the next round of Halo games.
Finally I have to say that no matter how independent or skilled a gamer might be, mulitplayer levels are just no fun when your the only one playing. You know what I'm going to say next. Bots, please!! Adding and AI system to control silmulated enemys with even the most pedestrian of combat skills would make a whole new element of the game exciting and available for single players like yours truly.
In all fairness to the deisgners and programmers, these faults were generated over a loooooooooong period of gameplay and I could quite easily write a review five times as long on what I like about the game. But hey what fun would that be? As previously stated I sincerely hope that these problems are given serious consideration in the spawning of Halo 2 (and 3?) as they would make an already outstanding adventure game perfect. Thanks for letting me vent!!!!
