Halo's detailed review includes human and covanant weaponary | | Annominous age 11 from Loughborough / England says (28/Dec/2002): | Hello??? There is ONLY ONE game better than Halo.Halo 2(well duh).I think this game rocks, but as many of you know, its frustrating having only 2 weapons, because most 1st person shooters you can carry about 10 different weapons including dual pistols ect.However, this game is obviously realistic. Have you ever seen a person in real life hold twelve huge weapons each weighing a ton? Didn't think so. The makers obviously picked up on this, to add to the realism. I'm not surprised to see bungee helping out either. They had a similar weapon system with Oni. I'm suprised EIDOS didn't want to help out, because they've made some good games in the past, and a range of different genres, from football games, to role playiong games (e.g. Final Fantasy VIII(8).

The bestweapon combinations depend on your skill. Personally, I prefer the needler as a secondary weapon, and a assault riffle as a primary. The reason why i like the needler is because it takes rounds, like the human weapons, and doesn't rely on a battery. it also has a kind of homing device in it.

| Excellent but not perfect..... | | Shannon from Sydney, Australia says (20/Oct/2002): | It was a rainy Friday evening when my best friend brought his X-box around with some game called "Halo". A week later I had a green and black box of my own.
However after having the game for a few months now, there are holes that have started to appear in the gameplay that I hope will be rectified in its Sequel. As another reviewer 'Murray' pointed out the biggest and most apparent pitfall is a lack of three or four player co-operative mode. It was with a sigh of relief I found out that Halo has a two player co-operative mode something that games like Goldeneye and Quake have lacked for years. However it would make a pleasant change to the endless amount of Cyborg vs Cyborg violence to have three mates along side blasting away flood or riding the oh-so-lovely Scorpion tank.
Another problem is after a while, playing Halo on your own gets well.....boring. It does have an interesting plot, fathomable characters and graphics that are worthy of what Microsoft have boasted. However, some levels tend to become long and dull and lately, I find myself sitting down to play a single player campaign and looking at levels like 'The Library' with a wince and a groan. Of course even levels like the one mentioned are fun when you have that x-boxing friend over. But if your like me and don't have anyone in your immediate household who is willing or skillfull enough to play it does become tedious. The stages tend to become long and once the game is completed I imagine most gamers screaming out for extra levels, hidden stages or unlockable cheat codes. Which brings me to my next gripe.
Upon searching around I have found there to be little to no known cheat codes for Halo. You know, those magical words like 'infinite ammo' and 'invulnerablity'. They would potentially add that extra spice that makes playing the game on Legendary mode a treat when an endless amount of plasma grenades are adhered to enemy grunts, elite or hunters. Unless Microsoft are holding out on us on the codes I would sincerley hope that more depth is created in the area of secrets and codes in the next round of Halo games.
Finally I have to say that no matter how independent or skilled a gamer might be, mulitplayer levels are just no fun when your the only one playing. You know what I'm going to say next. Bots, please!! Adding and AI system to control silmulated enemys with even the most pedestrian of combat skills would make a whole new element of the game exciting and available for single players like yours truly.
In all fairness to the deisgners and programmers, these faults were generated over a loooooooooong period of gameplay and I could quite easily write a review five times as long on what I like about the game. But hey what fun would that be? As previously stated I sincerely hope that these problems are given serious consideration in the spawning of Halo 2 (and 3?) as they would make an already outstanding adventure game perfect. Thanks for letting me vent!!!!

The graphics, campaign mode, the guns, multiplayer, etc... I believe the music in this game really matches it's atmosphere. What is cool about the music is that whenever you here it, you know to be prepared to be attacked. The guns are cool, but I don't really like the fact that you can only carry 2 of them. Even though it is more realistic to only carry 2, it would have been more fun to carry at least 3 or 4 of them. The aliens (especially the grunts) are funny to watch. The grunts usually hang around the elites because they are to weak to fight themselves. However, if you are in legendary, don't be fooled by their size, if their is a group of them, they will kill you quite quickly. The hardest aliens to kill is the gold colored elites. Most people would say that the hunters are the hardest to kill, but all you have to do to kill them is get behind them with a pistol and shoot their back. I even killed some hunters without using any bullets or grenades just by getting behind them and doing a melee attack on them. It is not very smart to get close to a golden elite,however, because they will kill you with just one slice of their saber/sword. The vehicles are really cool. I do not really have a favorite vehicle because they are needed equally throughout the entire game. Although I don't like the idea that you can't blow up the tank/warthog. My favorite combination of guns, in multiplayer, is to have a sniper rifle and a shotgun. The reason for this is because you can shoot the other guy at long and short range. Plus, with the shotgun, if you are close enough, it only takes one shot to kill something. The fragmentation grenade usefull whenever you have an enemy trying to run away. Just lob one a few yards ahead of the enemy and let them run right into it!lol The plasma grenades are used whenever you are tired of joking around and you want to get rid of the person immediately. Just throw it on them and it will stay put until it blows, needless to say, their dead. If you have a vehicle in multiplayer chasing after you, throw 2 plasma grenades onto the vehicle, if the person doesn't get out, he/she is dead. Also, you can flip the vehicle the person is in just by throwing the fragmentation grenade in the path of the oncoming vehicle. Just one more thing, if you have a person in multiplayer, who always seems to go into the tank and it really seems cheap that he kills you soooo easily, all you have to do is get a sniper rifle and wait until you get a frontal view of him, then shoot where the person's face is showing. It will take at most 2 shots to kill the person in the tank. A more effective way to kill at short range is just to lob to plasma grenades onto the tank. I think I've covered most of this game. Can you see why its such a great game?!!!!!! How can you not like this game??? I think its the greatest game ever, until Halo 2 comes out, that is. Well, good luck on beating this game!!!!!
| One of the top FPS games I've ever played | | Ben McElmurry from Brodhead, Wisconson says (28/Jul/2004): | I've played games since I was 4 or 5, now I'm 15, and To start off I didn't really support x-box at all seeing as I'm a Nintendo fanatic... but the 1st time I actually played Halo, it was with 11 people, and I had a blast, in fact I stayed on it for 9 hours straight. I stopped because as we went on, people would stop playing and would go upstairs to join the cast party for the musical... otherwise I would have been on longer... Now, I can't say it's the best game because I sometimes want it to have things that other games do have, like AI bots in multiplayer... Great story mode and I like the Co-op mode a lot too, because it gives me fun when single mode gets boring. Multiplayer, I think is also one of the best, except the only way to make it more fun is by adding people to the action with multiple X-boxes, or Editing gametypes. Just recently I played a CTF game with all characters invisible and no shield with only 1 friend and it was awesome... on small maps... I don't own the game myself but that makes it all the better because then when i go to a friend's house it's like a break from my own FPS games... I say the music, the sounds, and the graphics are superior... yes, the covenant do look like toys sort of, but i like some of the elite's grunts as well as there AI at times. 9/10 only because after playing Timesplitters 2 (FPS for Gamecube, PS2, and X-box) I liked it's ability to make my own maps and the ability to put bots in the game at a set difficulty for each bot, and its colorful bunch of characters to choose from, and all the action i've had, along with certain gametypes... the storymode is Co-op but unfortunately for me, it doesnt even compare to Halo's storymode... Halo is the only reason I would even think of getting an X-box... because ALMOST all of the x-box games would drop the fun level if I had Halo. I am not your father, but if you got an X-box, get Halo. I hate idiots who claim any game is the best... there IS no best game... by my standard a game is either---pointless, bad, pretty bad, mediocre (average), fun, very fun, or Elite in the gaming world... so there is a few games in the elite zone... and Halo is one of those few... it's what I think got x-box off to the start they had after it's release... I personally have gamecube and computer games that give me plentifull fun... but I may consider getting an X-box and Halo sometime...

It completely blows any Play station games out of the water with its amazing graphics, story, multiplayer, weapons, etc. If anyone gave this game less that an eight then I'd like to know what kind of glue you've been sniffing. Halo rocks because of its amazing graphics, its awesome gameplay, and because you have never discovered every thing.
One reason that Halo is the best is because of its exquisite graphics. Can you think of another game where you can look down and actually see real detailed grass? Halo has such good detailed graphics that that you can look at other people's guns and see little numbers and stuff. The texture on the characters and scenery are so detailed and realistic that it's like you're playing TV. That and many more things is why Halo's graphics rock.
Another reason that Halo is far beyond ordinary is because of the spectacular gameplay. It is safe to say that no other game has AI players smart enough to duck behind a corner to charge their shield. Or levels big enough to get lost in. Also there are a lot of dare I say, glitches that actually enhance gameplay. Or maybe it is just that the designers felt like making it so you can get to special places at Gulch and Side Winder. Or that you can get the warthog to those unnamed places at Side Winder. Halo sets no boundaries to what you can do. Invisible are practically unexistent and ther is nothing stopping you from getting all the vehicles on top of the base at Gulch. That is just another reason why Halo and Xbox rank Superior.
Yet one more of the many reasons that Halo is tops is that you'll will probably never run out of new things to do and discover. There are lots of things that you can discover new. You can beat the game on four different difficulty levels and the experience will be different every time. Just when you think you have done all there is to do , you discover how to get the Wart hog on top of the world at side winder. That is one more reason Halo cannot be beat.
In conclusion, Halo is like no other because of its excellent graphics, fabulous gameplay, and so many things to discover.
Boy do I feel like a nerd because I just wrote a 5 paragraph essay for no reason. Even my language teacher will probable be scared.
| Halo was great | | A gamer from united states says (8/Jun/2003): | Halo was definetly a revolutionary game, in the past games would often either have good graphics or good amge play, or a good plot, halo on the other hand had all three. the graphics are tremedous and in the new halo 2 release it will deffinetly top all other games, sure grand turismo had good graphics (but there arent crashes and the game play sux) the game play in halo was great, it didnt make you feel like ur hovering like in the new bond games. and it wasnt absurdly to fast like in unreal championship. the ai was inteligent i'd hafta say, they get behind you and pinser you and they attack and run away depending on their life and yours. and the impact when you shoot an enemy was great. in bond and just about every other 1st person shooter i've played they flinch....or twitch or something lame, but in halo the recoil and reel from the effects of a pistole shot to the gut was more realistic and interesting. halo also had the advantage of sound effects, no other game came close to the effects and music. also they had enough comic releafe to keep the game interesting, grunts are the funnest thing in the beggining to run around, chase, and planely beat the snot out of. later on in the game would realize that they are very powerfull, you get a couple of grunts and an elite and youd go after the elite, meanwhile the grunts shoot da $#< remove me > at ! outa you. There is no other game in the would that allows you the freedom halo does. you can go anywhere anytime, they may be a large hill where you cant get over it...so what?! get something to get you up there. me and my freind spent countless hours finding the most uselles things in the game. like when we spent about 3 hours to flip a tank and kill the pilot to discover we couldnt get in it, DAMNIT! and we spent three hours getting up on a ledge only to say HA! we got up here wat now! and jumped off to continued forward. oh yes, one more thing. grand theft auto sux so stfu it isnt that great, people rant about how great it was, 3 was better than vice city b/c when you got done in vice you well...were...done there wasnt anything else to do then. back to halo, the gun selection was very limited and yet seemed like there were countless weapons at your disposal, that was the first game to me that was like that. there was only seven and they all had unique purposes that effected your dessisions in battle
| Truly "Combat Evolved!!!!!!" | | Bondosama says (26/Mar/2005): | Halo is truly what the name suggests, which is "Combat Evolved." There are many reasons for this. One example would be all of the cool weapons that are man-made and alien-made. I especially like the shotgun because in multiplayer modes you can shoot at close range and get a kill with one shot. Another thing I liked about Halo was that it has a great Campaign mode, which is more or less the story mode. It's great how they start the game with a level that is a sort of a practice level where you learn all of the basics of playing the game. You learn things like how to shoot and aim in this level. Something else that's awesome about this game is all of the multiplayer modes, such as Slayer, which is a free for all or team shooter. All you have to do is shoot the other players or team, and the team with the most points wins. There's also a capture the flag mode where you have to go to the other side of the map, where the other team's flag is, then, when you find it, you have to go back to your side to score a point. One last thing that was great about Halo was that, since it was only on the Xbox, the creators didn't have to worry about creating it for different graphics engines such as the Playstation 2s. This gave them the ability to create a game that has awesome graphics. That's a good thing since Halo is a sci-fi game. To have a great sci-fi game, you have to have good graphics to go along with it.
Although Halo had many great things about it, there was one thing in particular that I really despised about it. Virtually, you can't play the multiplayer modes by yourself. You have to have other people to play with you because there are no AI that you can play with in the multiplayer modes. This isn't such a bad thing for me, but could be for other people because some people might not have anyone around that can play with them when they would like to.
Even though Halo had one large mistake in the multiplayer mode, all the other good aspects of the game make up for it. Halo is a really great game with a great storyline, and I would honestly recommend buying it. Don't rent it or you won't get full enjoyment out of it. You should really buy Halo: Combat Evolved.
| Best game of ALL TIME | | Super Gaijin from Charlottetown, PEI says (12/Dec/2003): | Greatest game ever made, it is now THE game amongst all of my friends who have played it.
Some of the smoothest, most detailed graphics I've ever seen on any console and better than half the PC's out there. The controls flow together so well and have even revolutionized FPS control setups ever since then. The Dolby 5.1 surround sound and HDTV support are such nice added touches to the XBox and make Halo even better (I didn't think it was possible either). When you've got a nice surround sound system with good bass and a nice 36" HDTV hooked up to it, the game just blows you away completely, especially in single player.
People complained about having alien races for your enemies since they were used in the past to avoid the human body coding that was so difficult to pull off. However, the bodies of these alien creatures react almost seamlessly as you rip round after round through their bodies. I just wish there was a little more gore in the shooting (ie limbs detatch, heads pop off, bodies torn apart by grenades and rockets). It'd be the absolute icing on the cake for that game but it is still absolutely amazing nonetheless.
The great assortment of weaponry is a nice little feature. That and the concept of only being able to hold two weapons at a time adding that nice touch of realism to bring you back down to earth. The weapons aren't as plenty as they are in some other games, but the tactics employed in using each one of them makes up for it. I'd sooner have 4 or 5 weapons with some substance to them than 20 guns that are just mostly modified versions of other guns already existing in the game or wielding multiple weapons (with the weapons just getting better as you go through them, *yawn*). A real marine wouldn't pull out dual pistols and fire them both of repeatedly with perfect accuracy, it's all about function over flair.
This game is absolutely incredible and even though I've been playing it since it pretty much first came out, I've never found myself bored of it.
If you play just one game on XBox, make sure it's Halo or you'll miss out on a whole new way of thinking.

_Graphics_
A bit cool, but not great. Let's say you'll find good resulutions and textures, but you won't see what's supposed to be on a game like this: "Amazing graphics!". Many people say things like: "This is the best game ever!". Bull! There are so many games out there, if you think this is the best game you need to really get used to video games and try new things. The aliens (aliens?) on this game are the worst ever, i feel like i'm killing toys when i'm dealing with them, so, that's what i really consider on the game, if the enemy isn't cool there's no pleasure to kill them, there's no pleasure to play the game either.
_Gameplay_
The AI is somewhat stupid sometimes, but the cooperation on the game is great, many guys start liking Halo because of that, and later they say that's the best they've seen. So, resolution? You need to go and know/see more FPS games out there, cooperation isn't a new thing for gamers like me, so, i won't be amazed for that. Listen, you can only carry 2 guns at the same time! Somehow, because of this, this game is not only bad, but sounds like a demo, real FPS game lovers or maybe just real gamers may have much fun playing Perfect Dark (Nintendo64!!).

The only thing really good. Sounds for the right momment, etc. But think, not even for sound those poor creatures they call aliens are great. Some of them sound like babies, others like a 1072844 old elephant, what's that?
Well, want an advice? You like this game don't you? Ok, this is just the beginning, you need to know and experience more games, later on, after following my advice you'll be looking to Halo like a piece of ****. If you like FPS games, please, they are many, from N64 to PS1/2 and PC, try to get another thing like Quake, Perfect Dark, Unreal, etc, and sell this poor stuff. Or if you only have your Thompson Xbox, then get some bucks and go buy Breakdown. PS: Don't attempt to get Halo2!!!

Halo is the best XBOX game ever created, but because they came out with Halo 2 it's now dethroned. The graphics are unbelieveable and the story line of the game is pretty good too. They could have made it a bit harder considering I've beat on every difficulty 3 or 4 times. I think that they should've had real music not the cheap music at the beginning, they should've had Eminem or 50 cent. I liked how you could do a multiplayer campaign and how you could have up to 16 players going at it at once. Personally I've only played with 4 and that's hard enough. I would have liked it more if you had've been able to fly the Banshee in The Deathmatchs, I heard that in Halo 2 you can.
If you could got the Banshee i would have rated it 10.
I bought this game with the XBOX system, another game (Amped:Freestyle snowboarding) and a controller for $350.00
I would have payed $100 for Halo alone. I think that they should have made the Hunters a bit hard to kill and made them more dangerous,(There so stupid they wind up with there arm and swing all you got to do is side step and you can unload a clip in there back) and made the Yellow Elites less harder to kill and less dangerous. You got quite abit of life but in lengendary you get shot 4 times and your half dead, but I guess that's why they called it lengendary. I could go through the campiagn in easy with my eyes closed and my hands tied behind my back, It's to easy for people who haven't even played it before, I recommend that everybody starts at the difficulty Normal.
I like the idea of Plasma Grenades that stick to vehicles and Convenant, but don't like the look of the Assualt Rifle or Rocket launcher. The flood was a good idea mutated zombie things that you can blow off there limbs kinda like Grand Theft Auto:3 or Vice City. Would have like to have know how the flood ended up with a pile of human weapons when all that crashed into Halo was a single ship. O.K i'm done picking the game apart all in all it's a Awesome Game!
| y halo and xbox kills ps2 | | aaron from san francisco, ca, usa says (15/Jul/2003): | i started playing halo at my friends house a couple months after it came out.. it started out by blowing my mind.. the graphics, the gameplay, and the storyline is probably the best every written. the best part is that it can give you a sense of feeling that something like this could actually happen in the future because its so real. its so original that other companies try to copy it. try red faction for ps2. they make the controls just like halo. when im pissed off or stressed out, ill juss play halo, taking my anger out on the convenant. and it would relax me. its like drugs except for the messin up ur body part. the a lot of people who own a ps2 say that xbox has only one good game on it which was halo. in the beginning, i thought so too, until i bought my own xbox and it opened up wonders to my life.xbox has its own hardisk unlike ps2 which u have to purchase a memory card. u can put ur own soundtrack on it and have a custom soundtrack for ur games. ps2 has wut? nothing there are basically exactly the same games for xbox as ps2 so i dont know y people complain. and everybody says that xbox games are more expensive. WAKE UP! most new ps2 and xbox games are 50 bucks. there is no way that they are more expensive on a count of when it is a platinum hit, its 20 bucks like the ps2 ones. xbox also has 4 controller slots so more people can play meaning more entertainment. for ps2, u have to purchase a seperate multitap juss so 2 more people can play. a lot of people also complain about the xbox controllers and that their too big. i think its just an excuse that they are very simple and cant operate the controller. the ps2 ones are so small and easy to use that a baby could use them. the xbox controllers are meant for more experienced and hardcore gamers and not people who hate them cause they cant find all the buttons. the only regret i probably have toward xbox is that they made smaller controllers.

Gameplay 10/10:
The gameplay is the best you can get from a shooter or most games. It is so fluid, you know, it isn't soiled by hard enemies or alternative game modes which spoil it. Driving is cool. Flying is the best experiance you'll get from a shooter. On foot the action is non-stop team-tied-solo fight fest. Gameplay makes the game great.
Graphics 10/10:
Great, clear, kick < remove me > at $$ graphics. You can see the individual blades of grass when you look down. When you shoot water it parts in the blow. And explosives act like depth-charges in water. As for the water, it is just so real!!! You can't get much better from a game before 2003. It's great. The fire is great and goes out after time, rather than staying lit despite snow and wind like in other games. The people are realistic and so is their movement. Overall, the graphics are great and to get better you'll have to wait for Halo 2 and Half-Life 2. Count the days and play Halo in the meanwhile.
Sound Quality 10/10:
The sounds are great. The voice actors are great at bringing out emotions and the sound quality of Halo does justice. Explosions are great. You really know it's an explosion and not just a baloon pop recorded. It's great. Gun noises also. All you need is surround sound. If not, It's still great.
Difficulty 10/10:
The difficulty is not set. You have four different difficulty settings so your never over-challenged or bored. It's great. Even the rock-hard flood don't spoil the experiance.
Overall: 10/10
The best game yet on any console.

One is that the Marines don't drive Warthogs, which they are trained to drive, but yet they drive ghosts, which is complicated alien technoligy. And on coop my friends always stink at driving so I am forced to drive. Second, the Marines don't use cover, and they get blown up a lot. Basacally, the Marines are the big issue. They must be poorly trained, and I usually kill them and go on alone. They waste greanades on one grunt. And they don't have any courage. On silent cartographer, when I am charging along the beach murduring everyone, the marines are mobilizing against 2 sissy grunts hiding behind a rock. and then when I charge the Elites and Jackals near the structure, they throw greanades in with no warning and the greanad damages me severly but the elites ran behind the pillar. I lost them all thanks to Mr.Mendoza. Other than the Marines, the game is Perfect. The graphiccs make it seem like and interactive movie rather than a game. The enemmies are the smarteset I've seen in a while. At least the Covenant use cover. The flood are some of the coolest but most annoying enemies ever. Every came now has to involve bloodsucking zombies, but these aren't fragile things that walk slower than a 100 year old person. Even the Flood are reativley smart considering what they are. The vehicles are well balnced and there is no best weapon. Each weapon stinks at one thing and excels in another. Except the pistol. Most games make you start out with the pistol cause it stinks, but Halo gives you it because its VERSITILE. You can kill any enemie with it with a little practice. I think if this game had a best weapon it would be the pistol. A scope, fully automatic firing, very powerful and large ammo capacity make it a winner. Any way don't rent this if you play it, buy it, because you'll get hooked in less than a minute.

The graphics are some of the greatest on any console and set the bar very high for the rest of the Xbox games. I first played halo at my friends. We were playing the level Halo on co-op. I had the controls memorized within the first 15 minutes. The controls are perfect. If you don't like them, just switch them around on the Edit Profiles screen. I liked the guns a lot. I would have liked it a little more if you could use the Hunter gun (fuel rod cannon), but I can't take a star away for that. I think that it was good that you had to choose only 2 weapons to carry. If you could carry all the weapons at once, the game would be too easy. The banshee in multiplayer might have been nice, but if they had that then the only way to stop it would be if the driver was dumb enough to come down to the ground. Which brings me to my next point, vehicles. They are great. It's just that simple. I wouldn't want to drive a Wraith even if I could. Sure, they have great armor, but you have to wait like 5 seconds between each plasma blast. And they're really slow. I think that the people at Bungie also chose the perfect music and sound effects. I love hearing the Grunts scream after you kill their Elite escort. AI is smart enough to be somewhat hard. Once you figure out how each of the aliens act, you can kill them quite easily, if your'e going one on one. I especially enjoyed killing the flood and watching little chunks of their bodies fly around. I would always confuse those body parts for frag grenades. It drove me crazy but I figured it out after my first couple of times against the flood. Halo definitely deserves a 10 in my eyes, and anyone who say it deserves less than an eight can go back to their beloved PS2!
| sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet ! | | eli sepulveda from Sugar Land TX , USA says (20/Jan/2004): | alright this game is just awesome.i cant wait til halo 2 comes out, but they keep freakin delaying when its supposed to come out.as of right now i hear its comin out in june.i kno A LOT about this game so if u wanna talk just email me.i play this game so much i know every detail and hide out in most of the levels.i make this game strategical.i have many traps and plans.alot of my friends at school call me the halo king.for instance, i know warthogs cant drive one ice,so on sidewinder i take advantage of this.i wait on the ice for someone to think im a sitting duck.as soon as they hit the ice, if i have one, i throw a plasma on the vehicle and wait to see what happens.if hes still alive his shield will have been terminated and you could easily take him out with a pistol.my favorite level would be Blood Gulch tho.there are good hide outs so u can take out ur enemies with staying in hiding.usually u need some sort of weapon with a scope.now i love the snipers,except they blow ur cover when they break the sound waves because the person can tell where the shot came from.dont ever shoot someone with a rocket if they have no clue where u are unless theyre facing away from u and u know the rocket will hit them before they move or turn around,otherwise the can easily dodge it and ur hideout is now known.usually when i come to a close range rocket fight i just throw grenades,move and occasionally jump.the rocket launcher can only hold two rockets so if ur good enough dodge til they have to reload then its magic time. what i like to do tho is get a good jump clearly over the enemy and shoot a rocket straight down which will leave them with no option but to die.now this is just a little of how i like to play.i know much more.email me and i can give you my screen and if youre able to we can chat.

I grew up playing the ATARI 2600 right through the 8 bit Nintendo. Then I "grew up" and abandoned video games with the rest of my childhood. Or so I thought. Sure I was aware of the passing of time and the improvements made to technology, I watch from the sidelines as home based video games got more and more technically impressive. But I always maintained that "MY" games from the "Golden Age" of video games were the most fun to play. I can still sit and play "KABOOM" for an hour on the olds ATARI 2600. ________ Then I saw HALO. Oh my GOD. I had been skipped ahead several years, and missed all th stuff in the middle. A little overwhelmed at first with all the sticks and buttons on the XBOX controller, but this old dog caught on quick enough! HALO is the most astounding thing I have even seen in or out of an arcade. It's quite simply the closest thing to a complete alternate reality I have ever seen. The story is excellent, the action is non-stop, the graphics are...well...mind boggling. Nearly unimprovable. The random nature of each battle makes re-playing this game over and over again a must. It's never quite the same twice. Any number of things can make you dead, or victorious. So many possibilities. I am proud to say I have recently completed the game on "LEGENDARY" and despite that, I'm still addicted. If for no other reason than to own HALO, you must own an XBOX. It's that good, it's worth every cent of $300 or whatever the XBOX and HALO cost together now. (I paid $350 and don't regret it one bit.) And MULTIPLAYER! Can you say unending fun? Frag 'em boys and girls, watch the shadows and grab those rocket launchers!

It sounded interesting to me and before I knew what was going on, I was telling all my friends about this outstanding new game on the powerful Xbox. They didn't care too much at the time because of all the hype on PS2. Over the whole year of temptation to buy a PS2, I kept saying to myself that the reward would be great. Then, on November 14, 2001, I got in line to buy an Xbox. Midnight came and it was mine, all mine. I plugged it in, and shoved Halo into the drive. It started up, and the music came. The chorus of men singing a song that gave me a distinct feel of awe. I started the game after watching the action-packed cinematic. Honestly, I hated it. The controls were just too different from Goldeneye. I sighed and for a few minutes I thought about the option that I had had to buy a PS2. Then, without me knowing, the "Master Chief" practically reached out of my television screen, grabbed me, and put me into the spacecraft. I was in the game. This occured approximately THREE minutes after I started the game. That's it, there's nothing else to say that this IS the reason to buy an Xbox. Anyone that has ever wanted to blast through hundereds of aliens at once has no better place to look than on Xbox. After playing the game and beating it a few times, I decided to invite a few friends over to hook up two Xboxes. I can honestly say that I have never had this much excitement doing anything else in my life. You nieve people out there might say that I need to get a life, but these feelings that I have about Halo are not just my feelings. They are the feelings of MILLIONS of gamers out there that have Xboxes. I have never heard of anyone that has an Xbox that doesn't own Halo. Why Xbox? Here's your answer. Period.

I admit that it does have room for improvement but Bungie really wasn't allowed the time they wanted. But for Halo 2, Bungie is give ample time to perfect and the game and make it how they finally want it to look and feel. All you idiots out there who gave Halo one star should realy play the game longer. Most of you who did give it one star said you only played for like 5 minutes. That won't even get you to the captain on the first level. And multi player mode really doesn't get good till you get mor that 2 people in it. Trust me I took the time to beat the entire game on legendary, and all of you ding dongs who said it was too easy or wasn't hard enough probably were too afraid to get past the first level on the easy setting. Yea the game does have glitches, but that makes it all the moe better on multi player mode just think of it as more places to hide. The game is actualy very original, Bungi was the first company to make a first person shooter game like this. The first being Marathon if I remember correctly, but all you people with Microsucks ( microsoft ) operating sistems wouldn't know that. Your lifespan is very good, if you watch your sheild and your butt, untill you get to heroic or legendary you should be able to go through it with no tactics just guns blazing. That's how good your lifespan is. Sound is very good in this game, all the music is beutifly orcastrated. You can easily tell were the enemy, with a stereo system, not surround sound just two speakers with you tv. This game is very very fun I think all of you with xboxs sould get this game. And all of you who gave it one star and said you would rather play ps2 or gamecube or some other system, DO IT. In conclusion this game is very good.
