The One Game To Rule Them all | | Squeak from Rapid City says (4/Jun/2004): | This is absolutely one of the best games ever made ( given the fact that it was made by microsoft ). Usually shooting games aren't all that great to me, but when I played Halo, i was amazed.
The first thing that struck me first as and amazing game were the graphics. they topped the chart! For such a big game , the creaters sure as heck did a good job.
The second thing that I though was amazing was the storyline to the game. It was just like reading a good book. I was addicted.
I've never played any game more addicing than this game besides the final fantasys, but they're not half as good as Halo.
The AI on this game is unbeleivable! Whenever you get in a car, so do your team mates ( not many games are like that ). If you are low on health, all you have to do is hide and your team mates will kill all the covanent. That is awesome!
But, even though this game is great, it also has its downfalls. First of all, they don't have enough multi-player levels , and most of them are really small, so when you're playing a 16 player game, it's really difficult.
Also, the ghraphics on the X-box version are way better than the PC / DC version. So, that's one thing the creaters should keep in mind when they make Halo 2.
So, Here's a little reveiw for all you people who haven't played the game or are thinking about buying it. I hope it helps.

so far in da game i haven't seen any glitches. The enemies have amazing graphics and bungie [halo creaters] have put every detail into da enemies. And da guns. Hell Yeah the guns are radical!!!!!!!!! The music is ok!!!!!!!!! I said i only wanted an Xbox just to by this game. 007 Goldeneye for Nintendo 64 is the best shootin' game but this is the 2nd best. It is similar to Goldeneye in many ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If your lookin for a really really really action-packed game then you should bye Halo!!!!!!! If you see this game for about 40 quid it is a good offer no matter how much the game costs its just da best. You little kids out there this game might be a bit hard for you. If you like really hard games then buy.

The covenent were incredibly textured and i love multi player especially my opponents. but i think they could of made larger levels for the player who love 16 players at a time.they could of added alot more weapons. me and my friends have made a game that we call C.A.R.S (cill any rolling sucker). u get two worthogs and just ram eachother constantly until one of u flips over. when and only when they flip over are u aloud to run ver them. for extr fun uu can have somebody or people throw grenades randomly into the field. this mini game best works on blood gultch.
but disregarding the multi player i had fun with this game and i enjoyed it. But u have to be a shooter freak to really enjoy this game like me because basicly all ur doing is shooting the crap out of covenent.
And if u queit halo cause its hard ten ur a srry gamer cause thats like saying u dont like ninja gaiden cause its hard. the difficulty is wat Halo is based on.(if u play heroic or legendary.)

create a new profile and name it exactly as shown .fortune and it will read a message like a fortune cookie.its cool

I know almost every glitch on the internet and have found more than 50 myself that no one has posted on the internet! There are no actual cheats, which is a good thing, but there are tons of glitches which none of are stupid, but make the game better! The grunts are hilarious, the elites are cool, the jackals are all right, and the hunters are really cool. The enemies are all original, the marines are just how they should be, not too powerful, but not too weak. The graphics are good, but they could be better, and they will be on Halo 2, I've seen the screenshots! The fun factor is way up there with the other godly games. The sound is great, all the right sounds are in all the right spots, and they make the game even more enjoyable. The gameplay is about the best I've ever seen, and I've been playing video games since I was in Kidnergarten(I'm currently in seventh grade, so that's quite a long time)! I am a video game god, I've beaten the game on legendary by myself, though I have to admit I can hardly believe I did since it was so hard! This game even provided a big challenge to me, though like with all video games, I came out victorious. I spent $30 on the game, and it was worth every penny and more. Anyone who doesn't like this game is either horrible at it, or hasn't played it and has heard bad things about it from the people who are horrible at it. Contact me if you want to know any glitches, hints, or help on the game. I know glitches that you won't find anywhere on the internet (I've looked myself), and can give some really good help on the game to anyone who wants to get better. If you don't have this game, BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| All 4 player versus mode games are the same!!!!! | | Justin from Campbell, Ca says (13/Apr/2004): | Halo is cool if you like co-op play, otherwise, the only differences from the other four player versus shoot'em up games are the weapons and environments other than that all those games are repetitive and they suck hardcore. The gamplay, graphics, fun factor are areas of the game I would score high on, like a 6.5. The value of this game should be in my opinion $20 when it was first released due to how much improvement and/or time and effort they should have put into it. The sound is great, I really like the sounds and the voices, especially with a surround sound system hooked up to it. I would definitely give the sound factor a ten!!! The graphics are good but they could be alot better, especially the environment textures. Fun factor is a ten! only on two player co-op. Halo has an excellent story line as well as the cinemas, it's a game that definitely gets you hooked for hours on end. I do think they should have four player co-op, which is a feature that would have given this game a much better overall rating. Also, it would have contributed to a better fun factor as well as making the game more interactive.
The characters' overshield should allow you to take more damage before it starts taking away from your lifespan, however, I do like the fact that this feature is a feature that should be in more of this genre type of game, if you know what I mean. It definitely has alot of originality, thats for sure. All in all this is currently a must have for all video gamers that own an xbox or computer.

_Graphics_
A bit cool, but not great. Let's say you'll find good resulutions and textures, but you won't see what's supposed to be on a game like this: "Amazing graphics!". Many people say things like: "This is the best game ever!". Bull! There are so many games out there, if you think this is the best game you need to really get used to video games and try new things. The aliens (aliens?) on this game are the worst ever, i feel like i'm killing toys when i'm dealing with them, so, that's what i really consider on the game, if the enemy isn't cool there's no pleasure to kill them, there's no pleasure to play the game either.
_Gameplay_
The AI is somewhat stupid sometimes, but the cooperation on the game is great, many guys start liking Halo because of that, and later they say that's the best they've seen. So, resolution? You need to go and know/see more FPS games out there, cooperation isn't a new thing for gamers like me, so, i won't be amazed for that. Listen, you can only carry 2 guns at the same time! Somehow, because of this, this game is not only bad, but sounds like a demo, real FPS game lovers or maybe just real gamers may have much fun playing Perfect Dark (Nintendo64!!).
_Sounds_
The only thing really good. Sounds for the right momment, etc. But think, not even for sound those poor creatures they call aliens are great. Some of them sound like babies, others like a 1072844 old elephant, what's that?
Well, want an advice? You like this game don't you? Ok, this is just the beginning, you need to know and experience more games, later on, after following my advice you'll be looking to Halo like a piece of ****. If you like FPS games, please, they are many, from N64 to PS1/2 and PC, try to get another thing like Quake, Perfect Dark, Unreal, etc, and sell this poor stuff. Or if you only have your Thompson Xbox, then get some bucks and go buy Breakdown. PS: Don't attempt to get Halo2!!!

Bad things about Halo(very few of course): Halo has afew glitches but they improve the game and make it cooler,I wish the previews after you die were longer and the reason is: In the Silent Cartographer level when you climb in the warthog and then go to the balcony of where the doors shut, get out and when you hear or see a grunt throw a plasma grenade at you, throw 2 fragmentation grenades at the ground and if you are covered with needlers the plasma grenade,the frags and the needlers all explode at the same time, sending you high in the air. The highest i've gotten is probably 50 feet higher than the cliff wall.
The good things:
Graphics:Halo's graphics are the best i've seen in any game.
Sound: Halo has really good sound, it works great with surround sound.
Gameplay:The gameplay is the funnest i've seen.
Lifespan:The Masterchief's lifespan is perfectly understandable I mean in other games you say "holy cow this guy won't die" but in Halo the Masterchief is a cyborg plus he has a shield.
Fun Factor:very very very very very very fun
Value:This game cost me 30bucks and that is cheap for the game I rated 10 which is a really good value.

I first played in summury vacation 2003 with my friend Ron on Xbox on Versus mode it took me about 2 hours to get the game. But i mastered it and beat my friend ron and jeff. They good , in fact best players i ever went against ecept for a guy with a profile called Halo king who i battled online. making a clan. beat a game with an old freind in co-op. and beat it in pc and been playing it online which adds two new weapons and six new maps pretty cool , but you get 2 more new maps in gamespy and other things. Cant wait for halo 2. Im a gamer and halo is an awesome game . Well im a good player . shotguns and machine guns are my style of weapons im a good sniper too . Ask some folks in internet (my profile is Ghostkiller). Well im hoping to find an awesome player who can kill me with an hog. Im pretty good my self on vehicles , i went agaisnt 3 strong enmys and won 50-4 by myself.Well i try not to play much but im still good , even have a lot of rookies in my team and started teaching them my styes

Cleaning the floor with enemies is a good trait of mine. This game is great if your a kid looking for some action. Glitches and cheats aren't my favorite thing but, I have to addmit there sweet! One would be in Sidewinder (Caputre the Flag) if you have the flag go to the bars that have the boxes next to them. Press the R button to throw it across and have a teammate pick it up. Great tatic in this level. I now many more so if anyone out there thinks there the best consider otherwise. Overall this game is a gamers dream. I can't wait for Halo 2. Online action will be sweet. Killing people from other countries, huh, who could image. This game is a must get for everyone. I couldn't sleep the first night I played this at my friends house. After that I went out and bought and I'm only 11. So you see I am the best and age 11. If you would like to to know more about Halo make another review and maybe we will meet online, you never know. So to sum it all up this game is the best and I can cream anyone. But, who knows maybe a student will surpass THE MASTER.

The graphics are awesome; the weapons are sweet; and the enemies are vicious(on legendary). It is the complete game. And holding two weapons at a time is great(more challenging). I can't wait until Halo 2 comes out. Playing halo on XBox live will be shibby. It was a blast the first time I defeated legendary to see the "special film". I won't give it away but all I can say is thats a side of Sarge I've never seen before! It is very challenging on legendary facing 2 hunters at once(especially when they're that p*ssed off). But all an all this game is going down in history. My favorite mission has to be Assault on the Control Room. It is a wicked combination of indoor and outdoor combat. It is also a nice combo of vehicles and on foot travel. The best part of this mission is the hijacking of a banshee. Nothing like bashing the covenant with their own vehicle. Also any mission in which you get to snipe as well as melee about 30 sleeping covenant gets an A+. Speaking of melee, bless whoever came up with that idea for this game. Nothings better than busting an Elite in the back of the head. Now as for the rest of those "Halo Gods" out there. You cant say anything until you defeat Halo on Legendary(by yourself). If you haven't then dont be calling yourself the Halo God. It doesn't work that way. As for the creators of Halo, bless you all. I can't wait for Halo 2. But I still can't figure out how you'll make it better than the first!

I love reading the reviews of other people who obviously blow. And they complain about how its so hard. But it really isn't if you are any good at video games this is the best game around. Relentless action and a decent plot too. This game cannot and will not be beaten by any game for any other system. There are several guns that all have their own advantages and disadvantages. Also there are some really cool plasma guns that add another great dimension to the game. There are also plasma grenades which are always really fun. Halo is probably the best multiplayer shooter around. Every weekend me and 15 other guys system link. Its the greatest. And I can't wait until Halo 2 comes out! And if you don't already have Halo it's really cheap now. It's only about thirty dollars brand new and twenty bucks used. If you are looking for a fast great multiplayer game Halo is for you! Bill Gates, you da man for inventing xbox. It has the best games and graphics. Anyways, Halo is really the best game for xbox and yes it was game of the year. So anybody looking for an awesome game, get this one and you wont regret it. Halo is great for multiplayer and just the normal campaign. It has many great levels and weapons as well as many covenants (bad guys) for you to slaughter. There area four difficulty levels, easy, normal, heroic and legendary so its not going to be those games that you can beat in four days on all the difficulty levels. After beating games on one difficulty level you usually get bored of the game, but not with Halo. Like I said before, it is the best game ever and you will never get bored of it. There are tons of weapons, grenades, enemies and other little things. Some of the best weapons are the sniper rifle, the plasma grenade, the rocket launcher, the plasma pistol and the needler. Yes there are other weapons, about ten more than I mentioned. So if you are looking for a thriller game, get Halo and you wont regret it. I know I didn't.

Elites are easy to kill for some reason. My favorite alien race so far is the Hunters. Their hard to kill but you can still have fun with them. And then you can steal alien weapons and kick their butts with them. This game is the best I have ever seen and am definately ready for the second one. I rented it and have been playing since Feb. 6th and am still on the 3rd level. Its just that challenging!! But thats why it rocks and should be bought by everyone. If you don't have an X-box, go get one!!!!! Or get it for PC. I hope the next one can stand up to its predecessor.
I heard that over 3 million copies have been bought. If that doesn't make it the best game ever than nothing will!!! Me and my freinds play it all the time. Its so fun to just melee grunts and not shoot them. I'm glad their are no codes for this game because it would make it stupid. Invincibility while fighting a Hunter would be nice, but an over shield would work just as fine.

I'm not saying that this game is no good. Quite the opposite, I love this game! there are so many differnt reactions to different things that happen. I once blew up a guost falling backwards off the side of a cliff as my only marine sweared multiple times that a grunt had compleatly blackend the left side of our warthog with a garnade. I will not be like those blood thirsty, violent, and gun happy reviewers that say it is awsome for the fact that the game offers far to little stratagey for me. The game is almost like a movie with some what retarded marines that barely are any help at all, and a group of alines called the coventent that somehow find humans as vile scum that needs to wiped of the face of the galexy. The piont to the game is to discover what Halo is, try and stop keyes for unleasing the flood ( a ancient race of monsters that finds a perticular liking of flesh), fail, find Keyes discover he is a flood, kill him, and destroy Halo.Overall the game is the best I have played in a long time. I have no reason to continue, but it has to be 200 words.
