ps2 down the drain..boo!! | | Jose from Florida , United states. says (2/Dec/2003): | Xbox really owned any other system with halo..but ofcourse....halo is from micrsoft..and BUNGIE..exellent companies when it comes to BEST GAMES.there are endless reasons why halo owns everything...(ofcourse..halo 2 weill indeed kick major ass no doubt)u can see cracks in the ice..leave a trail with the warthog scorpion..ect..there is no way ps2 can have such a cool game for their system.not a chance.then again they suck.the weapons look so detailed.perfect models.and halo has something other games do not have!that is *depending in diffrent weapons for certain ocassions..*there's not a bets weapon in halo.yeah u could say that the rocket laucnher is the best at medium raneg but so useless against a sniper at long range becuz it takes an hour to get there.the only well balanced weapon is my favorite.*Plasma Rifle* man that $#< remove me > at ! is annoying when being used against you becuz it brings ur shield down in a blink of an eye.but u could easily get overwhelmed if ur using a plasma weapon on short range against a shotgun.u'll infrlt a fair amount of damage but u';ll die for sure!!(depends on how evasive you are at halo).all i got to say is.halo is UNIQUE and THE best game ever made..as far as halo 2....thats a hall of famer baby.don't worry bout how long it takes for it to come out..we're all excited...i know.but PERFECTION TAKES TIME.

All previous fps games tryed the use of vehicles but never really captured the true feeling of actually driving it was always blocky and choppy. In my opinion this game is the best fps game ever made untill now. For all of you people out there who think it was a bad game and that the game is over rated? All i have to say is that is your own opinion and so you can see how few of you are out there just read around posts and look at those reviews even on this website that out of 100 posts there are only about 3 that dont like halo that makes it a pretty damn good review. Just so you know just because you dont enjoy this game that doesnt mean that the rest of us do not. Its like an old friend of mine who thinks that rock music sucks bad but if you watch tv and see concerts out there there are billions of people who love ROCK (and im one of them), so this just like music some like rock some dont some dont like halo most DO. My point is dont go out there and write that this game isnt good and you shouldnt buy it because others will definetly think different thank you. Your opinion is good enough. Halo Rocks!

The graphics i would estimately give 9/10 because the videos at the end of the levels lacked style, but it was still good. The gameplay value was good but multiplayer mode was slightly a dissapointment because you could not set the outher players to CPU so you HAD to play with humans! The sounds were excellent but why could'nt you use your own music??? My friends tell me the pc version is way better because you cannot predict what other people online are going to play like. And it is completely like a new game altogether. The reason I love this game is because of the campaign mode which tops everything I have learnt about games before: You can have different difficulties for which type of player you are. The hardest mode would have to be the last one there which they describe as suicide and guess what? It is suicide! My first impressions to this game were "Just another FPS!" But oh boy was I wrong! It took me a day to complete!24Hrs . But do not! Do not let this put you off. I had this game yesterday and I think that I will be playing it for a long time like the RPG Phantasy star! Overall this game would get 9/10 which is not average! So if you dont get Halo 1 Get Halo 2!

It is so much more satisfying to complete the game single handed, but lets face it two guns are better than one despite the additional enemies. The graphics are (almost) flawless. The sound, especially the music are one of the best I’ve seen on a console. It enhances the already amazing gameplay to make it a game you just cant help but go back to time again. The fun factor & humour of the game make it stand out from the rest of the FPS's on the XBox to date. Depending on the difficulty level the Aliens will say different things. The one thing that lets the whole game down is that after completing the game on Legendary there are no extra levels, weapons or anything as "reward". I could be wrong about this (please correct me if i am) but something that you have doubtless lost weekends and the occasional workday over really needs something to make it feel worth it. One thing i cant comment on too much is the multiplayer option. I've only played against 2 other people but what i can tell you is that playing Halo on broadband against up to 32 other players, really is one of those things which make you run the risk of never seeing daylight again. This the only time i'll say it but....... Thank you Microsoft.

1. It is action packed and has a butt load of guns & Blood.
2. The vehicles are very neat.( I Like The Warthog & Banshee )
3. The multiplayer mode is cool. You may even make you own game.
The Guns where probrobly the coolest part of the game. I could do the whole game with just my handgun. Ive beat the game countless times and I have some advice for enemy's.
1...Grunts. On grunts anything will work. They are very weak but they mostly travel in packs of 3 to 7.
2...Jackals. These enemies are a little tricky. You may rather melee the shield and break it. Or you can use a plasma weapon to burn the shield. They will keep your marine allies busy for a while.
3...Elites.These guys can be very hard. Try to keep a distance from these guys. They come in 3 colors.Light Blue,easy but usually are invisible.Blue, Normal difficulty Elite. Red,Hard difficult Elite. Yellow/Gold, Very Hard & have swords. Most elites have grunts with them. Stay away or kill them with a assult rifle.
4...Hunters. Very hard...But Very Easy. They have big swords and have plasma rockets. They have orange spots on thier back and arm, one shot at this spot will kill him. Sorry but I have to go. I will continue this review some other time. Bye

MGS2 was MUCH better. I hate POV mode and always will. I like the MGS2 kind of bird$#< remove me > at ! splattering over my face, but hate the boring landscape of HALO. FYI, HALO is short for High Altitude, Low Opening. A type of parachute jump from a very high altitude. No, not from a diving board. In fact, 90% of the people who try it die. I did in the first 5 seconds of the game. So this game is true from a certain POV. 90% of the people who follow "follow me guy" get blown up at the beginning. Only reason i like this game: committing suicide. I love waiting at the bottom of a cliff while my friend launches the warthog off the cliff to smash me. This game barely has any realistic design. You jump off the cliff with the warthog and nothing happens if you have a "good landing." I suggest you get the PS2 for the same price, but a PS2 player, DVD player, and CD player. Tell me; what is more worth it? A system with no realistic design, or a system with mind-blowing realism, DVD playing realism, and realistic design. I suggest the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Metal Gear Solid 2, and PS2 combo. You have the two best games on the market for a resonable price.

That's why I'm waiting for Halo 2, but if you're not into the Xbox Live stuff don't bother buying Halo 2 if you already have Halo.There is a few things they could improve like they could let you hold more than two guns at a time and the multiplayer maps could be a little larger.Those are all the problems with this game, now here are the good things about Halo. This game is highly addictive, there is a lot of secrets and suprises in the game....but im not going to give any away I'll just let you find them your self, there is a lot of detail in the characters and objects in the game, there is a lot of diffirent ennemies in the game from the grunt to a zombie to a Hunter, There are also some vehicles you can drive like a: ghost,scorpion,banshee,warthog,and a tank, There is also a lot of levels and all of them are incredibly long which in this game is a good thing.Those were all the good things i could think of but i know there are much much more good things about this game.You know what everyone says: Halo alone is a reason to buy a Xbox, and actually they're right.

Out of every system I have seen, none has had such a successful starting game. And those ppl who say less than 7, are PSX fans and just dont like to see their system's games suck so much. Halo has great graphics, huge worlds, great storyline, and a nice array of badguys. I liked how the human ai's got in ghosts and helped. I also thought it was a good idea to not let people use the wraith (covenent tank), because of its abilities and armor. If you dont think so... think how many hits it takes you to destroy one, and then look at the $#< remove me > at !pit; notice how the pilot is completely shielded? And the banshee in multiplayer would be nice, but it would be a menace in that the pilot is shielded as well, mostly. All vehicles in multiplayer have it so you must kill the people in the vehicle because the vehicles dont get destroyed. Finally, the comedy put into this game makes it even more enjoyable. If you are totally wiping the floor with covenent, some of the little guys will start running away shouting lines such as "He's gunna kill us all!", or "Save yourselves!". Even when death is imminent to them as a grenade is stuck on a part of their body, "Oh not again!". Overall, a definite buy.

I'm not saying that this game is no good. Quite the opposite, I love this game! there are so many differnt reactions to different things that happen. I once blew up a guost falling backwards off the side of a cliff as my only marine sweared multiple times that a grunt had compleatly blackend the left side of our warthog with a garnade. I will not be like those blood thirsty, violent, and gun happy reviewers that say it is awsome for the fact that the game offers far to little stratagey for me. The game is almost like a movie with some what retarded marines that barely are any help at all, and a group of alines called the coventent that somehow find humans as vile scum that needs to wiped of the face of the galexy. The piont to the game is to discover what Halo is, try and stop keyes for unleasing the flood ( a ancient race of monsters that finds a perticular liking of flesh), fail, find Keyes discover he is a flood, kill him, and destroy Halo.Overall the game is the best I have played in a long time. I have no reason to continue, but it has to be 200 words.

Bad things about Halo(very few of course): Halo has afew glitches but they improve the game and make it cooler,I wish the previews after you die were longer and the reason is: In the Silent Cartographer level when you climb in the warthog and then go to the balcony of where the doors shut, get out and when you hear or see a grunt throw a plasma grenade at you, throw 2 fragmentation grenades at the ground and if you are covered with needlers the plasma grenade,the frags and the needlers all explode at the same time, sending you high in the air. The highest i've gotten is probably 50 feet higher than the cliff wall.
The good things:
Graphics:Halo's graphics are the best i've seen in any game.
Sound: Halo has really good sound, it works great with surround sound.
Gameplay:The gameplay is the funnest i've seen.
Lifespan:The Masterchief's lifespan is perfectly understandable I mean in other games you say "holy cow this guy won't die" but in Halo the Masterchief is a cyborg plus he has a shield.
Fun Factor:very very very very very very fun
Value:This game cost me 30bucks and that is cheap for the game I rated 10 which is a really good value.

Halo is the greatest there is the story line is awesome the controls are easy to figure out. The covenant is funny(the grunts are neway) the AI is great, like if you shoot too many of your many they'll start attacking you, and the fact that the enormous hunters aren't so tough if you know how to handle them, i can kill them with one bullet 2 on a bad day. The guns are great, and the game is so addicting. Usually i take about a month off but usually i don't make it that long without having to beat down some grunts, or a big swarm of flood, and from what i hear halo 2 is going to be even better, you are supposed to be able to destroy any vehicle, and from what i hear your supposed to be able to weild the bad a$$ saber some elites carry, it's supposed to have more aliens, and then the weapons like the battle rifle and dual oozie looking guns, i forget what they are, and i believe it's going to have like 3 or 4 new grenades. and the marines have a new black armor that looks kinda like masterchiefs and their supposed to be better. And its gunna have a few levels on earth so it's looking very promising well that's all i have to say

Bill Gates, you da man for inventing xbox. It has the best games and graphics. Anyways, Halo is really the best game for xbox and yes it was game of the year. So anybody looking for an awesome game, get this one and you wont regret it. Halo is great for multiplayer and just the normal campaign. It has many great levels and weapons as well as many covenants (bad guys) for you to slaughter. There area four difficulty levels, easy, normal, heroic and legendary so its not going to be those games that you can beat in four days on all the difficulty levels. After beating games on one difficulty level you usually get bored of the game, but not with Halo. Like I said before, it is the best game ever and you will never get bored of it. There are tons of weapons, grenades, enemies and other little things. Some of the best weapons are the sniper rifle, the plasma grenade, the rocket launcher, the plasma pistol and the needler. Yes there are other weapons, about ten more than I mentioned. So if you are looking for a thriller game, get Halo and you wont regret it. I know I didn't.

Advanced for the xbox, HALO: Combat Evovled is probably the best shoot em' up out there today. Multiplayer was shocking and funfilling. The story behind HALO: Combat Evovled is excellent it just makes the game even better. Aliens and weapons used in the game are amazing, quick firing, real life reloading. The sounds and music are very suitable for this game, screeching of those dying almost sounds real. Blood is a great asset to this game, bodies lay there after death, you can even melee there corpses! WHAT AN AWESOME FEATURE. Unlike those other shooters you can play up to 16 players online at once, or system link. Mulitplayer has great options and features usable for gameplay. Races, CTF, also includding ODDBALL, team deathmatch, classic ctf, iron ctf, classic deathmatch and much much more! Vehicles are great uses during Campaing, CO-OP, and multiplayer. Ground forces such as the Ghost, warthog and the powerful tank. You can even fly around with the Alien Banshee! This has got to be an A+ rated game. Suites all, gameplay excellent, graphics stunning, oh come on, you get my point BUY IT FOR YOURSELF! Thank you Microsoft. Billy, your one smart genius!
| need we say more!!!!!!! | | Mo semakieh from peoria' ILL' USA says (12/Mar/2003): | Look! this game is the game that i will remmember it until i die first this game got a very shiny good graphics second,you can finsh the quest with a freind or play aginst each other with 16 people. there are alot of transportation machines cars,tanks,airplanes and hovercrafts they are so cool EX: you can sit on one of the cars and have some body a marine or a another player sit in the back of the car on the mounted gun and BOW =wow! i played it so many damn times i cant stop. every time my cousin comes we play it. third the enemys. there so smart. the story is the best. and your not alone you have marines but wait they are not dumb like the cops you get in halflife they run, talk, drive, or share help in the cars ETC----. you are free in this game and whats so good about it is that it is realistic you cant carry 1000 guns with you like half life. there are alot of guns in this game but you can only carry 2. and if you like music then get it i dont mean rap or some emenem crap i mean real good truth full music it reacts with the game. this game is on sale for more than a year and still the same price im telling you trust me i know you will like it just get it ok?

Halo consists of a large selection of weapons, characters, vehicles, and aliens. (The types of aliens in Halo are Flood and Covenant, all with thier own types and advantages.) Some people get the Xbox only for Halo, and they made the right choice. Halo is worth a check, so if you want an xbox, Halo is the shooter for you. It is rated M for vilonce and blood and gore, but it is a great game nevertheless. you play as a Cyborg Master Chief who crashes on a remote ring world only to discover its contents... Halo is full of suprises, suspence, and even a few comic releifs expireinced on the level 343 Guilty Spark and The Maw. (you might not catch them your first time played. Also these levels are the most suspenceful, in my opinion.) Duiring gameplay, Halo allows you to change guns immedeately, reload, throw grenades, and jump. Also, you have a little A I partner that gives you handy directions to help you out...Except in 343 Guilty Spark, you don't have her with you...
I am 13, and I have to say, Halo deserves a 10 star.

I love reading the reviews of other people who obviously blow. And they complain about how its so hard. But it really isn't if you are any good at video games this is the best game around. Relentless action and a decent plot too. This game cannot and will not be beaten by any game for any other system. There are several guns that all have their own advantages and disadvantages. Also there are some really cool plasma guns that add another great dimension to the game. There are also plasma grenades which are always really fun. Halo is probably the best multiplayer shooter around. Every weekend me and 15 other guys system link. Its the greatest. And I can't wait until Halo 2 comes out! And if you don't already have Halo it's really cheap now. It's only about thirty dollars brand new and twenty bucks used. If you are looking for a fast great multiplayer game Halo is for you! You'll never get bored of this great game it has relentless action and never-ending combat. The graphics are smooth and high quality, All the things you need for a game can all be found in Halo

I've played it every week at my friends house, 2 of which are wordly ranked, 5 and 22 in the world. They are farely good, but sometimes i will beat them. I would get halo of course because of the split screen settings, and/or system link play. The co-op and campaign settings are alright, but ive played better. If you end up getting halo I would recommend going to www.xbconnect.com. It is a live play, that tricks your xbox, into thinking your playing a local system link play, but your hooked up by the internet to other players around the world. First, you log on to xbconnect, ITS ALL FREE. On your xbox you go to system link play. When it says your looking for game, join a server and the map will come up. If you have a mac go to www.postpose.com. Most players are gods at the game, so train hard before you start playing. I hope this was useful. If you want to play me get on xb my name is {eSu}-bilbo-. Good luck and play hard. I hope you've found this forum useful. Also masterchief is not a cyborg, duhhhh, read the books before you say some stuff. They are very good by the way.

Well,if you put it on legendary,it would seem longer. The game has awesome graphics and cool guns. One of the cool things about the game is you can kill your partner on the game. If you keep killing each other, you can get unlimited ammo. The best thing about it is the vehicles, my favorite is the scorpion tank. If you go to demos on the game, and look at Halo 2, they have way better aliens,weapons,and levels, but it will be a long time before that comes out. Grunts, usually stick in packs and use weapons like pistol,plasma rifle,and plasma grenades. Jackals, have great hearing,smell, and sight. They use plasma pistols and carry a plasma sheild. The best way to kill a Jackal is to hit it anywhere on it body just like you do with a Grunt. The Elites are pretty strong, they have a sheild on their body and use a plasma gun. Hunters are the strongest alien of all, they carry a gun and a sheild. The gun is inside of their arm, it is very strong. Their sheild will protect them and will be used as a melee weapon.
