I spent a whole year intrigued by this game, wondering how it could be "that good", but now i can sort of see everyone's point. i dont exactly agree, because with the exception of a couple instances, it's all just your standard run n gun sleeper. part of what made it fun for me was playing the majority of the game in cooperative mode with my brother, which is exceedingly fun because you get to work as a team (it's also much easier to beat this way).
The big exception to the constant droning shooting was the part where you first encountered the flood. my whole body was in genuine panic after seeing the cutscene of the marines being ripped apart and the subsequent appearance of tons of little red dots on your radar. then it was more of the same. shooting shooting and more shooting. i think i may have worn out my right trigger from all the shooting.
Overall, the game just isnt an epic, which is not what i had expected. whenever i see a 10/10 rating, i picture a punkass 9-14 year old who has an unsatiable dream to kill millions of aliens and no appetite for a good plot. for the rest of us, we're better off sticking to stuff like Splinter Cell.

Halo is awsome i saw it and i was immediately hooked my friends started playing it 24/7 and we stopped only to eat or drink for about 10 mins. I mean it has the best graphics i have ever seen!! my friends and i would like to challenge anyone who thinks that they are better because we are the BEST!!! I like the grunts best cause they say funny things when u start killin them but stop and they run around yelling stuff like "hes after me" or "there everywhere there everywhere". I would recomend halo for anyone for a thirst for killing stuff even though i cant for halo2 to become available i would still recomend halo1 for everyone. my dfavourite vehicles wopuld probably be the warthog and the banshee although i heard that halo2 lets u get into new vehicles such as the gauss warthog(good against vehicles)and the wraith (the thing that shoots big blue bullets). anyone who doesnt think that halo is really awsome they really have gotta get their minds wiped because i think it is a revolutionary 1st person shooter on a revolutionary console. the game is so original like the guns and all the vehicles. U could play it for forever and still not get bored.

Halo I have to say is the best game I've ever played. Cleaning the floor with enemies is a good trait of mine. This game is great if your a kid looking for some action. Glitches and cheats aren't my favorite thing but, I have to addmit there sweet! One would be in Sidewinder (Caputre the Flag) if you have the flag go to the bars that have the boxes next to them. Press the R button to throw it across and have a teammate pick it up. Great tatic in this level. I now many more so if anyone out there thinks there the best consider otherwise. Overall this game is a gamers dream. I can't wait for Halo 2. Online action will be sweet. Killing people from other countries, huh, who could image. This game is a must get for everyone. I couldn't sleep the first night I played this at my friends house. After that I went out and bought and I'm only 11. So you see I am the best and age 11. If you would like to to know more about Halo make another review and maybe we will meet online, you never know. So to sum it all up this game is the best and I can cream anyone. But, who knows maybe a student will surpass THE MASTER.

Halo is Dope as all h< remove me > at #%!! It is outright the best FPS ever! However Halo 2 hasn't actually hit the streets yet, which may actually be better than the first one if that is at all humanly possible. But if there is anyone out there who knows the few little problems Halo did have, it's bungie. Therefore, they've had all the time in the world to work out those little glitches in the first one, and add all the wonderful things to the second one that they didn't have time to cram into Halo before it's original release date with the XBOX. Case in Point; Newer,better weapons,the brutes,some tasty new vehicles,and best of all better marine and Covenant AI. I know this is simply a Halo review, but I am just as excited about the second installation as I was about the first one. I know I've preordered my copy, Have You?? I've played and beaten Halo on all three difficulties and loved every minute of it!! The game is purely a perfect model of what a FPS should be. I've said my piece about the game, Everyone whose enjoyed it are not alone. If you haven't played it, don't let me convince you; You can judge it just nicely on your own.

I didn't know if I wanted an xbox, ps2, gamecube or what. I didn't even know what halo was until I went to my best friends house one day. I played halo for a half hour and was a natural for it. A few days later I take back my electric scooter and bought an xbox and a copy of halo. I skipped school the next day because I had been playing halo all night long. And as soon as I woke up I started playing again. I even skipped lunch just to play. Now me and my friends use a system link every sunday and battle 4 on 4. At first I beat the game on easy and it was a snap. But I wanted more, so I started playing on legendary, it was no picnic trust me. Being able to take out an entire army by yourself with just 10 to 20 marines to back you up, IT'S A RUSH!
Some advice for future halo fans who just heard it was good and want to get halo 2,(not that that's a bad thing),before you do that go ahead and get yourself a copy of halo 1. Trust me you don't know what youre getting in to. Basically if it weren't for halo I would not own an XBOX.
P.S. I ofcourse have already pre purchased my copy of halo 2.

This game takes you on a trip of expansive settings of non-caring it is trifally boring and has no imaginary belonging to the gaming world. Make believe is the point of gaming and imagining that you can only pick up two weapons at a time is in one word stupid. Carrying on with the fact that your another person deep in the instilling facism of the army of tommorrow you go on to save the world (boring) what about saving your own or back tracking your own damnation by that same facist army or you know something new. I'm sorry it did not keep me satisfied. Interesting enough I wouldn't wish this game on my worst enemy, well my absolute worst enemy maybe, but you come on invest your money on something more interesting than this garbage pile. Although its fight scenes are interesting, except for the fact that you wish you had just that one gun you had earlier, but no you had to drop it because of the stupid limit that this first of the so-called great games that the lame (i just want to repeat that)lame console system known as the x-box has released to the public. Stick to the computers Gates.

Im not like one of those idiots... OMG THIS GAME IS INCREDIBLE... well it is but the graphics are great, sound is impeccable, the controls are easy to master, and the missions are detailed. Once you start, you really can't stop. Personally, I found myself beat half the missions in about 2 days because i was practically hooked, but thats what halo does to u. If you own Xbox, and not Halo, you should be shot. Halo 2 is going to be the Shyt. This game is easily the best First Person shooter in video game history. If anyone remembers the old Goldeneye video game for Nintendo 64, they probably remember that, that was the premier First Person shooter of the time. Well Halo, is the FPS of this time, and ever. Halo is such an intense game but it is not the easy game that you can beat in a day. If you play on legendary, you will have trouble with the first few levels. The enemies anyway are done incredibly. My favorite part is being able to listen to the grunts and their stupid comments, then sneaking up behind them and sticking them with a plasma grenade. Then they explode and the real fun begins...

This game is the ultimate first person shooter game.Also having awsome graphics this game is the reason Xbox is made.You can't find a better game for anything else.Ghost Recon comes very close but Halo is #1.I can't wait for the next Halo.This game has the best sound to go with the graphics.It sounds like the real thing.My dad's in the milatary so I would know.The Storyline is extraordinary.The books give you some background info, so I recamend that you read them, I have.The graphics show reloading unlike other games such as Turok.this makes it more Challenging.I dare you to find a better game.OH!You can't, there is no better game.The only game that's better is Halo 2.So how bout that!if you do find a better game concact me.But wait!You will, that game is called Halo 2.What else can I say besides this game ROCKS!There is no better Sci-Fi game.If anyone doesn't like this game it's their loss e.I don't see why anyone can hate this game.I only 12 years old but in Split-screen There is no one that can stop me!The 4 player mode is awesome!But XBox live will make it the best thing in the world.

This game is awesome. All the enemys are cool. My favorite is the hunter. The flood is hard to beat but is fun. I cant wait for halo 2 to come out. It has the greatest graphics ever. I even beat the maw on lengendar twice with a partner. My favorite level is the library. My favorite weapon is the shotgun. My favorite vehicle is the warthog. I've found a lot of glitches in this game. It is fun. Who ever doesn't like halo has never played it. Come on it is the best game ever. Halo 2 is going to be the best. Some times the music freaks me out but thats what makes it fun. The gameplay is awesome. I get hooked on the for hours. The graphics are so good because when I crash the warthog it is like realy recking. I thought it was sad when captain keys died. The best part is when you fight hunters. The sniping is awesome. I can pick off enemies far away and not get hurt. I love to fly the banshee and take down other banshees. The marines are funny because of what they say. I didn't mean to kill 3 of them but they were killing me. But then I killed some covenant and they became my friends again.

Halo is probably my favorite game that has come out on the market so far. Not only is it a good, solid FPS with good graphics and fun missions, it also has awsome multiplayer! One thing that makes Halo mulitplayer so much better than all the other multiplayers is that at sidewinder and bloodgulch you can pilot vehicles and run over all the other guy. HA HA HA! The weapons are varied though I was slightly dissapointed at the number of weapons. Only 8. UGH! But they are still awsome to use and the multiplayer levels are huge witch is always a good thing. The replay value is huge and the graphics are really nice! The gameplay itself is awsome unless you get lost in some huge underground place in single player. Then your kindof screwed especially if you have lots of flood after you. THe music is catchy and the game all around is almost perfect. But not quite. That's why I give it a 9 stars. The perfect game hasn't come out yet. I'm half expecting to be the one to make that perfect game. But Halo is definately the best one out right now! If you have an X-box, go out and get it!!!!!!

This game is the best ever and will be the best until halo 2. The story, the graphics, the sound, the gameplay, the control(yes the control) are all perfect, if u think it's too big, then u gotta be 5 yrs old(note: it says mature on the box foo), and the multi etc are so incredibly perfect, this game musta taken alot of work and it deserves credit, i'da payed $150 if that's wut it had costed. the levels, the Huge maps and missions are incredible, every placement of every alien is perfect. The reason there are no bots in multi is b/c it would lag like hell, no system can handle 4 screens and aliens running around with awesome graphics like that, u'd have to degrade the quality to include bots unless they find a way around this prob in halo 2. Another good thing is that there aren't really any cheats in this game but there are alternate endings to missions, like the first snow one, u can snatch a banshee if u go really fast at the last bridge part and skip 1/3rd of the lev.
Yall who don't like this game can go to hell, those who've never played it, u dun kno wut yer missing.

Every aspect of this game is epic. The campain mode is asome especally cause it lets co-op. In the snow level you can pilot the banshee, go fling around blasting your fuel rod cannon and shooting lazers. The best thing about this game are the aliens: The plump timmid grunts or as I call them chublers are the most pathetic thing I've ever seen. They beg to be butcharded by fleing from battle and sqeeking for help. After becoming extreemly skilled beating legendary the hardest thing to beat are the red elites(second worst rank)and yellow jackles. The guns are all unique and have their strenghts and weaknesses. Not very many weapons but it acually turned out way better than other games with a hundred differnet machine guns. It still has the best graphics of all games. Muti-player is so fun especially when using more than one Xbox, and the other players can't see your screen. If you play this game long enough I promise you some crasy stuff will happen. On multiplayer ramp the ghost off the tank or put on heavy sheids and blast your friend with a rocket launcher for sweet air.

When i first played this game i said "WOW"! This game has tremendous gameplay! Halo is such an awesome game it blows all others away like a fuel rod gun, hehe. In games there are three things: good story line, game play, and graphics. some games have one, or two. but never three. Well, bungie redid that theory and made halo with all three that makes it shoot up to a ten outta ten! In my opinion i would make it an eleven outta ten. And thats not all! the sound and voices make the game a living reality! the explosions, veichles running, and the shooting make you feel like you are really in the game. When i first got halo i thought, nothing can get better than this, nothing! but when i downloaded the trailer i finally realized there is something better than halo...halo 2! duh. when i get halo 2 i will play it from the first shot of the bullet to the last drop of blood. good thing i have a stereo sound system! lol. nope...nothing beats halo and halo 2! who out there thinks there is something better than halo? dont underestimate the power of the ring.

This may well be the best title available for the XBox but there is still room for improvement.
One obvious omission is three and four player cooperative modes. Even the N64 had software (Hexen) with this ability. Not everyone is a fragging death-match lover.
What about the putrid, pus-filled alien parasites. They were challenging all right. The same way a boring, dead end, minimum wage job is challenging. Just something to be tolerated to reach the next level. Of course it is the science fiction-horror aspect of the flood that gave the game its Mature rating. This lack of Everyone rated titles has caused the MS consoles to remain in inventory while every retailer sold out of the little purple cubes.
As the flagship title this program did little to sell the console to other than the most avid gamers. These enthusiasts do not buy enough consoles to warrant their continued production. Therefore Halo does little to ensure the continued survival of the black and green box.
Sorry to rain on your parade.

Halo is the most awsome game I have ever seen. The Covenent Aliens are all diverse in the way you can beat them. Elites are easy to kill for some reason. My favorite alien race so far is the Hunters. Their hard to kill but you can still have fun with them. And then you can steal alien weapons and kick their butts with them. This game is the best I have ever seen and am definately ready for the second one. I rented it and have been playing since Feb. 6th and am still on the 3rd level. Its just that challenging!! But thats why it rocks and should be bought by everyone. If you don't have an X-box, go get one!!!!! Or get it for PC. I hope the next one can stand up to its predecessor.
I heard that over 3 million copies have been bought. If that doesn't make it the best game ever than nothing will!!! Me and my freinds play it all the time. Its so fun to just melee grunts and not shoot them. I'm glad their are no codes for this game because it would make it stupid. Invincibility while fighting a Hunter would be nice, but an over shield would work just as fine.

this is one of the most action packed games ever owned and is expecting another, for anyone that says it is one of the worst games it is because u dont have it, or you rented it and you just say that it is one of the worst cause you dont own it is defenitly better then the first by a long shot new vehicles new weapons and even boost for vehicles i think (if or not) halo 3 comes out it will be even better and again lik the second new improvements for anyone who doesnt have this game i feel your sarrow and sympothy this is altimitely the best game made so far the graphics are also the best ive ever seen only with a few glitches witch is good for a good graphic game like this one gamplay in this game is very intense with explosions firing of weapons such as rocket luancher smg pistol brute shot sniper and many more i think this game will be one of the hottest games still later in the world it is the most shocking thing micosoft has ever came up with and thank the makers for making this game this will always be my favorite game on xbox (probobly)lol

Halo is the best game ever!! you get to run around shooting these stupid aliens in such rich enviroments. and the music was just simple put amazing. the music is there for the right time in the game. and the weapons are amazing. the sniper rifle is just cool it can kill an Elite in one shoot. the shot gun is the second best gun. it has a scatter shot so it is the most effective against the Flood. the Flood are so damn annoying they come out of friggin nowhere. you are walking down a peaceful hall and then BAM!! you get attacked by thousands of the infection forms. and then the combat forms come out to play. they are not that hard to kill it is just that they tend to reanimate. you shoot him like fifty times he falls down then when your back is turned they come back to life (if that is what you want to call it) and smack you!! and the sniper rifle (unfortunately) doesn't even damage them. so when you find the Flood do not, repeat do not pick up the sniper rifle. now i am just wasting words so i can end this review so how was everbodys weekend.

This game was defineitly a perfect 10. I loved this game after I beat it ounce I went on and beat it again. This game has some of the best graphics sound and gameplay that I have ever witnessed. The thing that keped me hooked woul;d have to be the awesome storyline. This game had asesome potential and it lived up to that potential. I would have to admit the game has a lot of levels, and talk about long levels. I've been trying to think of a flaw in this game but there really isn't one. The only possible thing that I can think of would have to be the last level, For me It was very frustrating I just could'nt find this one door. Any one one who does not have this game should defineitly get it. One thing that I have to say about this game it is not like most games. All lot of other games dont really give you a clear Idea of what they want you to do. But that Is not true in HALO Halo is perfect in every aspect that could possibly be. In my opinion for Halo 2 that is coming out in couple of weeks it will be good but no game can match up to HALO!

It is the best game ever.Compaired to other fps this one stomps over the other's.The graphics on this game are great,the vehicles you can use are the best,heck even the covenant are cool.But master chief is the best.He looks cool and is cool.Microsoft did an awsome job with this game.And also i can't wait till Halo 2 comes out.That will also be the best game.I have beat halo 10x on legendary.i also found some glitches in the game that are cool,like the hidden rooms and being on top of the levels sniping all of the aliens out and beating all of the levels.And then playing the system link and beating all of my friends.i wish that halo would have been online enabled so you could play with other halo fanatics.i think i am really good at halo .and also i think that the banshee is the best because you can fly over the aliens and kill them.my friend is also a big halo fan.he is the person who got me to like halo.he is also the best at halo.he is the one who told me about the glitches and the part that you can go to the top of the level.
