You know, with all the hardcore gamers out there, I'm really surprised nobody's picked up the Marathon influence. I mean Marathon 2 was(and in my mind still is)the best first person shooter -ever- made. Leave it to Bungie to take an awesome story and run with it. When I first saw the preview for Halo, I knew righe away it was Marathon 4. Finally, four years after Infinity, it's here. The weapons have been changed a little, but are still pretty much the same... The AR with horrid accuracy, the double-barrel'd rocket launcher, blah. The graphics are really good. I like being able to look at other people's weapon readouts withi the sniper rifle. Sound is pretty good overall, but easily the best I've ever heard from Bungie. The only thing I'd change is the assault rifle's accuracy. Seriously... What military would standardize a gun that couldn't make a ten foot group at fifty yards? That aside... It's fifty of the best dollars I've ever spent.

I have never seen such an awesome game as it, because its got puzzles, aliens, and my favorate, combat. Although I dislike the unnessessary cussing, its one of my favorate games. I often can't figgure out the puzzles, so I go places like here for help. I also love the Co-Op mode, as, my brother and I beat it as. It was hard going over the debree with the warthog with such low time. He got killed, and couldn't beat it without me as I saved the day. I just can't wait for Halo 2! I saw on the final level he said it just began. Oh, and those Flood freak me out! I have ventured with my brother through the levels, solved puzzles, and wasted my bullets on trying to kill the Moniter. We like shooting dead aleins and walking around next to the fire. When a hunter comes, peice of cake, as we shoot him down dead and cortona gives us a hand. We also like to kick back and stare into alein's faces with the sniper rifle. Man, they need a bath!

Well i got this game right when i got my xbox so it was my first and so far its my favorite i have (Max payne, Amped, Dead or Alive 3, Ufc tapout and Project Gotham) but i think halo has them all beat. you can sit down and play it for hours and if you put it on lengendary its even more of a challenge, ive beat the game on every difficulty. and when my friends come over we have 4 controllers and we just go at it, every man for them selfs, 2 on 2, flagging, fragging, king of the hill, every thing its just fun and you never seem to get bored with this game. if you have a xbox i would recommend you get this game, it rules! =]

I think halo is a really good game. Working in a team has a lot of advantages, first of all if you don't see one of the aliens one of your team will probably kill it for you, when you ae in vehicles they can help you out by shooting other aliens as going along (but only if you are in a vehicle thay can carry more than one person), if one of your team mates die you can collect their ammo (always good if your low on ammo) and most of all they help you et through the game eaiser. This game does not have all good points though, when on multiplayer on the campain, when you walk through a checkpoint you teleport to another place; confusing you of where you are. The split-screen option is very good though and my favourite level is the sidewinder level with the snipers game type. So have I still not answered your question about is this a good game? well if you like first person shooters and games with aliens then yes if not no.

I've played many FPSs in my day, but Halo has got to be one of the best. Graphics are like no other, storyline is something new, and the gameplay is fabulous. The only down side is the multiplayer. Personally I think Perfect Dark has better multiplayer because you can play with bots, but with a sequel to Halo, (I don't know what the hell it could be) Microsoft can blow any other FPS out of the water. Some levels may get frustrating (personally I hate Library) but hang in there! Halo's multiplayer is still good, since you can choose the vehicals and weapons, and if you have that mini-modem thing, you can play Halo online with other people (of course you have to pay like 20 bucks to Gamespy to play, only once though)! If you have XBOX but no Halo, go out and buy it you moron! If you have a GameCube (PS2 is cool so keep that) sell it for an XBOX if you don't already have one! GAMECUBE SUCKS! Halo is definitly a must-play!

I had bought Halo christmas 2001 and yes I still do play it. But come on people I think it is almost time to move on. By no means am I putting down Halo, which is still the game to beat I first saw the trailer of this game last year sometime and almost cried of joy the first time I saw it! The graphics are so much better now because of a new engine, and unlike for the first halo, the developers are bumpmapping everything from the start instead of just adding it in later! New weapons, vehicles, ennemies, and more great music. Also I just found the Halo 2 E3 demo movie with actual in game footage. The marines were driving the warthog and the chief was shooting a sweet new weapon from the turret. Also the chief can now jump onto ghosts with ennemies flying them and kick out the user! So YES Halo is still the best game. But Halo 2 will soon, by soon I mean in over a year, take Halo's place as the new game to beat.

Halo was a pretty well developed game I think. Microsoft didnt think it would go very far since it was released when the Xbox came out. There are a few glitches in the game, but what games are you gonna find that dont have any? I thought the graphics were crazy. They were great. And the massive multi-player games you can get going are insane. Whos ever heard of 16 player games? Thats a definate plus. I think they should make a sequel to the game. If Halo made such a big impression when it first came, then you know the sequel is gonna rock, if there is one. The gameplay was great, however, i wish the eviorment in the games was more interactive. Like if a bomb goes off near a tree, itll fall, or get thrown a small distance. Oh yeah, about the sequel part. If anyone else has beat the game yet, in the end movie, the Master Chief says thats 'This is only the begining.' so you know theres gonna have to be a sequel

This game is by far.......the.....most incredible game iv'e ever played it has so much dept thought put into it it's one of those games you just can never get bored of oh my god the gameplay is absolutely superb you can hit, shoot, even stick granades to enemys and watch them scream for last life of throw a covernant vechiles. The graphics a incredible you get the feel of furture reality gaming i'ts superb. Also alot of thought has gone into this game i haven't come across anything that seems strange no glitches no nothing this is very original in it's own way the sound is very good especially when your parents go out turn your surround sound HI-FI on and blast outs the SFX and the tunes it's great if you want a killer first person shooter that'll have you playing for hours on end of everyday 24/7 buy halo and if the second ones as good as they say it is were in for a suprise. Halo is and will always be a game to remember. It's just one of those games you never get tired of playing. There is always something new that you learn each time you play. The Multiplayer could use simulants so you can team up with friends against the computer, but other than that the multiplayer is quite intriguing. Me and my friends always hook up all of our xbox's so we can have an all out war. I would recommend to anybody who is buying an xbox to get Halo because if you don't buy it now, when Halo 2 comes out you will be lost on the story. Speaking of which. We are only months away from the New Halo which is said to be untouched. It will show everything xbox has to offer. The graphics are to be almost real and the gameplay will be unbeat. Lets just say that Halo 2 will be like Halo times 3. Well there's my review. If you have any comments on Halo then give me a shout out at my email address

When I got the Xbox the first game we bought was Halo. I had heard some information, but I didn't know what to expect. The first night my brother and I played for so long. The graphics were the first thing I noticed, they were amazing. In one player mode there are a varity of levels, everything from being on space ships, to being in snowy weather. Also the AI is context sensitive,like when another marine is by a vehicle, instead of just firing with the weapon he has equipped, he will get in the vehicle and shoot the crap out of them. There are many aliens, which are unique in there own ways, like some will react differently to weapons, and some like the jackels have energy shields. Multiplayer is just as amazing, with many different game types, and changeable game settings. All the vehicles are great like the banshee, warthogs, tanks, etc. All together this is one of my favorite games.

I know HALO has had it's mixed reviews of good and bad from all gamers out there, but I am gonna give the good and bad about HALO as well. I first played this game at a friends place and it was one of the reasons I bought an Xbox. HALO is a game that all can enjoy, the multiplayer mode and split screen play is off the hook! With selecting and altering weapons for careful annihilation or total destruction this game can be enjoyable. I have beaten HALO and yes the story does get boring but overall this is real good game. You can't buy and play a game for a few hours and decide it was a waste of $50. Games take time to enjoy and if given the time to enjoy HALO, you will enjoy it too. I said it was one of the best, but not the best FPO game I have ever played. Let's see what HALO 2 comes out with Christmas and see what they come up with.

I recently bought an XBOX (late December 2002), and started hearing all this talk about how great of a game HALO was from other XBOX owners. I was a bit skeptical at first, so I read various reviews of the game before I finally convinced myself to lay down the $50. I honestly cannot recall how many Best Buys I visited before I FINALLY found a copy in stock. I brought it home that night and right after dinner fired up the XBOX to see what the hype was all about... Well, after having played it, I can honestly recommend it to anyone who likes first person shooter games. After having played the Rise of the Triads and Dooms of the world, this one just brings it all together in an immersive, mind-boggling experience. I liked the experience so much, let's just say I'm urging the wife to preorder HALO 2 as my Valentine's gift...

When I first saw this game I had no idea what it was about and thought it was stupid, however a minute or two at the controls of Master Chief and I couldnt wait to buy it. It was my favorite game a year ago and remains so. I cant wait for Halo 2 I have heard it is even better than Halo and from what I have seen I looks like it will be. But coming back to Halo, I cant believe people would give it bad reviews. I dont like 3rd person shooters because its not real enough. Halo has amazing graphics as well as realistic situations such as only being able to hold 2 weapons which is better than games like goldeneye where you can hold about 50. This game has changed video games forever and it holds the title of best game of the year. The only small flaw is the faces of the marines but that will all be changed in halo 2.

When I first bought my Xbox, the salesperson told me to buy Halo, "this game is one of the best if not the best out of all consoles," were his words. Since I'm a big wrestling fan, I bought Raw, After seeing how boring Raw was, I decided to rent some games. Now since I'm not a big fan of space games, battling aliens, and so on. I decided to rent Max Payne. That's a pretty good game, But it was kind of easy. So i decided to give Halo a try, and WOW!!! that game just blew me away. When I bought my Xbox and only played Raw, I thought "Gee, I should of bought a PS2." But one game and only one game made me think differently.
I've already beat Halo (in easy mode LOL) but it made me actually want to try the harder modes. Like I said, Halo is the Drug and I'm the addict. The Game is just pure Dopeness!!!

This game is so cool and it has everything a 14-year old or a 80-year old could want. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this game and it kicks butt. The story line is excellent and the graphics are just amazing whethere it's the ships or the fast amounts of space. You can also pick up the guns of your fallen commrades or the aliens you've just killed. If you can't dish out 50.00 bucks than try real hard to get it or go rent it somewhere. This game makes every other shooter game look like "Malibu Stacy goes hunting". And once you start playing this game you get addicted. So far my friend and I played the game for 4 hours straight and had to turn the xbox off because it was getting a little hot. This game should not be undermined and this game should get another game of the year award!

The halo on xbox kinda stinks compared to the new PC version.. How can you people say it never gets boring?? Maybe the first time you play it it dont but after awhile it gets very boring! Most of the guns suck. Only like 4 types of aliens(jackal,hunter,grunt,elite). The graphics are by far the best tho and so is the sound. Not many vehicles either.(warthog,ghost,tank,banshee) But Halo is no doubt in the top 10 for best games made so far. One of the best features are the aliens talking. Like if you die you will hear a grunt say "i got his gun!" or when you kill an elite a grunt will say "he took down an elite!" I think i heard a few cuss lol, but im not sure about that. And its very fun to launch warthogs into the sky with rocket launchers! This game is a MUST HAVE!!

Before Halo I thought the Xbox had a pointless existence, until my friend let me play it on his Xbox. I was amazed. I never thought a FPS like this could surpass Goldneye(N64). As I played the story kept getting more dramatic and realistic. The graphics may be dated, but those dont matter anymore. The challenge is incredible and equals that of Metroid Prime. The multiplayer is the best I've seen. when someone else kills you you dont get mad, you get glad! Seriously getting killed is the funniest thing ever. Ive had some hilarious experiences in multiplayer. Since I dont own an Xbox I was excited to hear that Halo was coming to PC. Cant wait to play Halo 2. Sorry this is shorter than my other reviews, but theres not much more to say when a game is this good.

For the first 20 minutes, I must admit,multiplayer was fun. Then it got annoying. But dont even think about playing single player because it is the most boring thing on earth. You shoot aliens and its not violent, so I dont know why its even rated Mature. All the guns in this game are pretty cool, but it is boring shooting aliens. The AI of your enemys is good though but at the few last levels the AI seems not finished. The graphics are good ... FOR PLAYSTATION 2! I mean Xbox can support better graphics than this. And at last comes the awful controls. The controls are placed in the worst places. Like you have to press the worst button to shoot. I think Halo is over rated,and I think you need to rent it. If you buy it, I think you wasted $50 bucks plus tax.

i had a ps2 and then i said that x box sucks to my friends but when x box have been released everyone byed it. so i went to my friend and played halo it as thye best game ever its even better than counterstrike (ive heard that its gonna come something like counterstrike on halo) then i tryed to sell my ps2 but no one wanted to by it becuase it sucks everyone has xbox so i dumped my ps2 and got halo ive cleared the game 10 times now and it isnt boring becuase the weapons are cooool and the grafichs are fantastic and the best of all i the vehicles i love them, the story is incredible and so many glitches makes it fun. so this is the best game ever but halo 2 is maybe better (i swear halo 2 release date is next winter) so halo is a must for xbox owners

As my title says, Halo is the best game ever. It has incredible graphics, and incredible play. The controls are fairly simple to master as well. If you buy an Xbox this is the first game you should buy. There's so much to do even after beating the game...an example being that on certain levels you can use the low gravity to launch jeeps and get into places you never would have thought possible or would have been possible until this game. I can't see how anyone who enjoys video/computer games could dislike this masterpiece.(on another note to people familiar with the marathon series: this game is obviously part of the marathon series but is not necessarily a sequel. As hinted by bungie and fans, this game is more likely a prequel to marathon.)
