This game was the best game I have ever played. Most of the time I don't like playing bloody gory games mostly I only can plat T or E games but this one is a little slip but still this game is 10 out of 10.

This is a very good, realistic (in a futuristic kind of way) FPS game, with a good AI engine and eye dazzling graphics. It starts out having a "Star Trekky" sort of a feel, and slowly descends into a struggle for your own life as one enemy becomes two, which both pursue you with fanatical hatred. The best way to describe it would be to say a first person view of Starcraft descending down into Half-Life. The levels are really repetitive, though, so it's generally easy to get lost in the labarynthine corridors of Halo.

I'll say this from the start. I got a PS2 the minute it came out and I thought it was great. Right through all the games to GTA3, still cool. MGS2 was a big letdown, poor loading times, stupid cut scenes etc. I was constantly telling everyone XBOX was crud. However I then went and got Vice City on PS2 and this prog shows that the PS2 can't cope anymore, massive slow down, terrible draw distances, crashing, save game errors. Two years in and the PS2 engine can't cut it anymore. Depressed I went down the shops and saw MS were discounting the XBOX complete with five games for 199.00UKP, amazing deal, at that price I had to have one, even just for the bundled version of HALO. Now I've been playing it solid for two weeks and it is the best console/game out there. Even my PS2 owning friends agree, although it hurts them to say it. I still fire up my PS2 just to play GTA3 or Vice City but it pales in comparison next to XBOX. Just imagine if Bungie used the HALO engine to create a city and cars GTA3 style, it would be amazing.

I spent a whole year intrigued by this game, wondering how it could be "that good", but now i can sort of see everyone's point. i dont exactly agree, because with the exception of a couple instances, it's all just your standard run n gun sleeper. part of what made it fun for me was playing the majority of the game in cooperative mode with my brother, which is exceedingly fun because you get to work as a team (it's also much easier to beat this way).
The big exception to the constant droning shooting was the part where you first encountered the flood. my whole body was in genuine panic after seeing the cutscene of the marines being ripped apart and the subsequent appearance of tons of little red dots on your radar. then it was more of the same. shooting shooting and more shooting. i think i may have worn out my right trigger from all the shooting.
Overall, the game just isnt an epic, which is not what i had expected. whenever i see a 10/10 rating, i picture a punkass 9-14 year old who has an unsatiable dream to kill millions of aliens and no appetite for a good plot. for the rest of us, we're better off sticking to stuff like Splinter Cell.

Hello??? There is ONLY ONE game better than Halo.Halo 2(well duh).I think this game rocks, but as many of you know, its frustrating having only 2 weapons, because most 1st person shooters you can carry about 10 different weapons including dual pistols ect.However, this game is obviously realistic. Have you ever seen a person in real life hold twelve huge weapons each weighing a ton? Didn't think so. The makers obviously picked up on this, to add to the realism. I'm not surprised to see bungee helping out either. They had a similar weapon system with Oni. I'm suprised EIDOS didn't want to help out, because they've made some good games in the past, and a range of different genres, from football games, to role playiong games (e.g. Final Fantasy VIII(8).
Best weapon combonations:
The bestweapon combinations depend on your skill. Personally, I prefer the needler as a secondary weapon, and a assault riffle as a primary. The reason why i like the needler is because it takes rounds, like the human weapons, and doesn't rely on a battery. it also has a kind of homing device in it.

Halo is by far the most exciting game on the X-Box. At its release time, it had the best graphics, and today graphics are still very impressive. Gameplay is awsome. Easy begginning, hard end(on normal and above). The hardest level is The Library or Two Betrayls. The Maw is too easy(on easy).

I've tried all the good shoot em' ups. Everything from army men to Quake 2. Halo has to be the only one which i've actually ever said 'Cool game!' I just love the multiplayer features, the baddys, the weapons, the blood, the reality, the graphics, the enemy AI, the basic plotline, everything! It's perfect, absolutly flawless. I recommend it to anyone who loves a good shoot em' up!

I have only played it for one day, it seems good on multiplayer, but boring never the less, i only played 2 player deathmatch, i'm sure 4 player deathmatch will be awesome, plus i love co-op games, my best co-op game up to yet is... Desert Storm.

Halo is a very good and fun game. Good graphics,weapons, and the story is great. the only thing that wrong is on the level two betralys. when you fly a banshee into the holo room land on the on one of the lights if u look up you will see a dark hole. if you look at it from the side you fall into a endless pit and you have to restart the game i hate it when it happens! but otherwise halo is a great game and i cant wait for halo 2.

The minute is played this game the graphics were the best i have ever seen. the music to this was cool. and the game play was very good. the bad things about this game are: no banshee in multiplayer. no human airship. no bots for multiplayer. orders for marines.

Anyone who likes FPS games will definetly never play another game again. There is no end the excitement Halo dishes out, even after youve beaten and played it for over a year(like me). The story is kinda short but it makes up for it in all the twists that were added. As for tha MP, don't believe all those retards who keep sayin stuff like, "Duhrrr, Halo was bad cuz there ain't no banshee in MP, hmmmduhrrrr."
Even though that maybe, Halo is the best MP I have ever played since Perfect Dark. The gameplay is excellent. There just isn't any other word for it. The reality of it all. Not like one of those games where you can carry a million guns at once, with no penalty(slower walk, slower reload,ect.). Just simply 2 guns. Even with two guns, people(like myself)can beat levels on the Legendary difficluty. The graphics are phenominal, even during gameplay. Seams and pixel-visibleness were nonexsistent. The cinemas are sometimes long and cannot be escaped, not that this affects the excellence of the game anyway. The sound and music are classic. They go perfectly with the enviorment and situation(suchas the appearance of Flood out of nowhere and battle with the Covenant). The convienence of the carefully placed dead marines, as your ammo and health deplete, must be psychic in everyway. It's like the game knows when I need certain necessities. In (almost) every way, Halo captures you in an amazing spiral of gameplay, graphics, story, music, and reality.

This game is awesome on multiplayer, but I'm a single gamer and that makes this game suck for me. I didn't buy this game but I played a friends b4 I did. I don't like first person shooters with the exception of Medal of Honor Frontline and Metroid Prime. I'm very picky about what FPS I spend $50 on. I have all 3 consoles-(cube, box, PS2) and I love xbox and this game does have it's moments, but it's WAY over-rated, not horrible, but really not that good. Sorry.

Far out, man. Where can I start... the graphics. The graphics on this game make metal gear solid 2, medal of honour: frontline and red faction 2 look like they belong on a freakin sega saturn. The gameplay... the gameplay is absolutely brilliant and makes metal gear solid 2 and medal of honour frontline and red faction 2 feel like they belong on a sega (that's right, a bloody sega). What else can I say?! this is easily the best game ever and makes any other game on any other platform look and feel like they belong on a freakin SEGA!

This is the best kick ass game ive played in a while. See i used to play on my orginal ps1 all the freaking time. So when ps2 came out of course i naturally wanted one but after playin metal gear soild 2 on it. I rembered a game that had game out on xbox. Im not sayin mgs2 is a bad game but the graphics are nowere compared to Halos. And for all thoes pussys who says the controller is to big go bye the smaller one. My little 4 year old brother has got one. And for halo fans halo 2 is coming out in 2003. And your on the Covent PLANT!!
