Amazing game, great depth, huge world. |
| Zohn and Snake eater (father & son) from Boston, MA says (20/May/2006): |
Its a great game but takes alittle patience in the beginning. It has enemy's around almost every corner. Sometimes even in the cities. There must be 500 little missions to do in this game. This game has everything from ghosts to vampires and more. The terrain around the cities are full of things to discover, from pearl diving off shore to fighting your way through ancient ruins. The phrase you keep what you kill comes alive as you take anything your enemy's have on their person. In the cities there are guilds, for everything which means politics and espianage. Dozens of side missions in each city, always something to do and someone to kill. There are over 20 towns or cities to discover and probably twice as many ancient relics or ancient ruins to discover in this game. The only downsides to this game are way too much reading and the distance between cities can become tiredsome walking everywhere. There are other ways of getting around but you have to join guilds or find how to get around. Walking places are good for building up your level, finding interesting places and things and treasures but, sometimes can be alittle annoying, if your character hasn't got a 70 speed or so. We wish we had the horses that are in the new game. All in all a great game to play.

Way to lose track of time |
| A gamer from Columbus Ohio USA says (14/Mar/2004): |
This is an excelant game. The graphics could have been a little better along with the music. However, you should be willing to make look over some things when you have a great storyboard such as this. You have the ability to roam around the whole country without doing a single mission. I like that. When it does come to missions these creators set no boundries. You can be a theif or a hero which is a lot more than others can say. I like the an depth storyline for the main corse though. It makes me feel kind of intelegent to be able to understand everything that is going on.
The other thing I like about the game is that there is even adventures it contains. You can even find tombs that has nothing to do with the storyline. Just brake in them and steal things. ALl the weapons to choose from too. Froms heavy axes to glass daggers. Ninja throwing stars to steal crossbows. They have about sixty weapons all together, plus you can enchant them if you want to. If you don't like killing with weapons, that's all right too in this case, because you can have your charector practice wizzardry as well. You can even invent your kind of spells. If you kill a charector that is in the storyline they will not come back so the relism can be apprecaited too. If you buy this game and find yourself lost, I sugest you buy the stratigy guide to improve your gaming abilities. The sky is the limit inside this game and everyone that has an game consel should at least spend ten hours on this game. The only way this game could be better (I challenge the cretors) is if they take this game and make it live for X box.

Question about building a castle or buying a house? |
| A gamer from Greenville, North Carolina, USA says (20/Aug/2003): |
How do you buy a house or build a castle so you can have a place to come home to. I am a big RPG Fan and this game is the best that I have ever played. I am just getting started with Morrowind but it is a gamers dream!
|
finally! a game where i can be myself w/out dealing with real cops. |
| alex jeffs from California USA says (2/Jul/2004): |
i am really glad this game came out. it is perfect because i wont get a lawsuit everytime i do something "wrong". i like how u can steal literally anything you want to. i have beaten the game and i know that there are some people i killed and a message would say that i screwed up the story even though i have already beaten it and their names have never shown up. overall this game rocks with transportation, the midevil setting, the "do whatever you want privelage", getting houses, running from the law, and discovering head splitting amounts of sidequests. the Game of the year edidtion makes it even better going to solstheim and using the nord's severed leg as a weapon. the only 5 things that would make it perfect would be if it didn't freeze every 2 hours, they need at least some people in the game who aren't ugly and unattractive, they need to make it online so you can play with your friends (yes, there would be stupid people who would kill everyone but they could make it so the NPCs would respawn). it would be better if a sword would kill enemies a little faster instead of stabbing an unarmored civilian for an hour with a broadsword until they finally die. lastly, a "continue" option would be usefull for when you die by a weak looking person who looked harmless(until he brought out his daedric war hammer of doom) and kills you in one hit. i liked having a social status and when you run, you get faster and when you jump, you eventually get good enough to jump a lot higher. i would recommend this game to everybody cuz there wasn't a lot you coulden't do.

a little too open ended |
| moses from Denver,CO USA says (17/Jun/2002): |
Morrowind is huge and only for gamers with a lot of time and patience. The fact that it is so big makes getting around timely and sometimes difficult. Also the objectives seem so insignificent that you'll hardly feel encouraged to waste time doing them. Morrowind certainly has its quirks, but being able to customize your character and kill villagers for their clothes and sell them then see someone else wearing them makes it all worth while.

The best RPG out there |
| Nathen from Westhope ND USA says (17/Sep/2002): |
When I got my xbox I got project gotham racing. Well that was fun for a while then I got like 6 other games played them forever (until I got morrowind) and now all I do is play morrowind. I have too many hours into the game. It’s cool because you can go out to a trader and buy potion-making material. Just hundreds of rat meat or something like that and then some small eggs. Make potions if you want to. Sell them off and make a profit. Sleep and do it all over again. Or you can be a warrior and go do the fighter guilds quests and rise in rank. You could join a temple and do that ever they want you to (haven’t done that yet) you could be an assassin and kill people legally (haven’t done that yet either) I have done a lot of stuff with this game and haven’t even scratched the surface. I am still playing it when I get home from work till I go to bed and before I go to school I even throw in the game and play it some. And I am only on level 27! But that’s not the point. I got my xbox and my friend said pos right away. He’s got a game cube. Haha about a month and a half later he got an xbox because of the game morrowind. It’s a great game and I feel that anyone that owns an xbox should get it. Hopefully they come out with another morrowind game in about a year and a half (that’s how long it will take to beat it for me) hehe but add me to msn messenger if you want to B/S about morrowind. Or just to talk about anything.

Best RPG for XBOX! |
| "Myst" Of "COH" from Kailua-Kona HAWAII says (24/Sep/2002): |
Morrowind is the best god damn game ive played in years, its fun and it is practicly unbeatable, no matter what lvl uyou are you can come back and have fun killing everyone in the shops and so on, there are so many different guilds and classes to choose from, i really like the part that u cant make your own class, and the way you can personalize almost everything you have. If you like long RPG's this is a must to buy for the xbox, even if you dont, i sugest you get it anyway ;)

this game is to cool |
| chris from mountain home ID usa says (15/Dec/2002): |

|
oh my god! |
| sean from dartmouth canada says (6/Feb/2003): |
when i first started to play this game i thought it was so amazing i mean the only thing i havent interacted with was well nothing i mean you can take the meat of dead rats like WOW!but after a day or so i got bored of the game because well i had no idea of what to do so i thought and realized that it was so good i restart it and be more carefull and take the game in rather then in my haste of thinking the game was so crazy i was to jitterey to listen to what the people in the game were saying, but this time i lisend to them i trained i joined a guild i made about 5000 gold and all i can say now is WOW!and i havent been able to take my eyes of it for like a week.oh ya this was the first game i purchased for a xbox and what a hell of a first impression so when you get a xbox or have one bye the game and if you dont like it id like to hear why because i have no idea why anyone wouldent like it!

cool game |
| 26013 from Michigan,USA says (7/Mar/2003): |
Morrowind is prity cool but it will not stand up agenst HALO2 in Morrowind my guy found a hammer that if he even equps it it will kill him and one of my frends found a half a ton weapon, The only thing that will make it better is if youre guy can mine and smith it like Runescape. The coolist thing is that i found a museum and a treasury and they were packed with vary good stuff. in the game one of my guys is trying to take over the island and he is prity strung and has good spells and he is a vampire he can jump over the river in BALIBOR.

Best RPG for the xbox so far.... |
| Kiefer Wetzel from Westminster Maryland USA says (16/May/2003): |
My name is kiefer from westminster maryland. I have been playing this game for a year & a half. I still have a lot more to do in the main quests because i just started them. All i have been doing is walking finding cool stuff like my personal favorite which i got from some fearful mage is a sword called the Chrysamere. Its is truly a remarkable sword. The Umbra Sword cant compare to this sword but the umbra swords soul trap for 120 seconds does come in handy sometimes.

Sweetest Game In The World |
| Christian (pronounced Chris-Jin) from Sioux City Iowa, USA says (8/Aug/2003): |
MAN, I couldnt beleive it. When Morrowind came out, i wasnt paying attention to it. My friend had played it and suggested it to me. So i got it and it was SWEEEEEEEEET! I'm like a level 21 dragon lancer, I have a permanent bound vest, lords mail, Umbra Sword, almost full set of orc armor, an almost full set of daeadric armor. My friend got platinum hits morrowind and started over. He's a vampire. Ironically, hes trying to destroy all other vampires. (He thinks if he kills the one that bit him, he will be cured). If there is a cure for vampirism, post it up so i can cure him.

This game r0x0rz teh b0x0rZ! |
| Chris the Great from Milwaukee,WI says (3/Mar/2004): |
wow. When I first got a copy of morrowind, I wasnt even really a true RPG fan at all, and never really was any good at in depth games due to a short attention span. When I first popped it in It looked crappy. Coming strait from games such as halo and other great graphic box games I was almost sure I waisted my money. But I learned how massive it was, and how interactive it was. (3x more interactive then inivisible war) And the non-linear storyline is amazing addition to such a in depht game. Ive seriously stayed up for 36++ hours just to get my time in, and came to school late alot (im 13). I cant find a bad thing in the game really. Except the box users seemed to have missed out on more accesability in the pc ver.(like hotkeyed weps and stuff). I personally like the fact that you can make cool arrangements with dropped stuff, I made a huge bank account of nice items in the gharok manor (by my main man creeper).only thing id ask to add after playing the goty ver is custom soundtrks, that would really r0x0r teh 130x0rz!!!!!

Ok, ok, is good but still they must put a lot of work to fix somethings in the game |
| Praetor: Ceagle Beowulf from BEAVER PA USA says (11/Sep/2003): |
Ok, LET ME START, THIS game is cool its true, but It COULD BE MORE COOL Than THAT!!! lets start whit the graphics, I prefer slow graphic quality whit more varietys, in the game, You must see, graphic took a lot of work in the game, that work can be put it into more AI and monsters and a lot of weapons and accesories, and if you could marry in the game will be nice too, added whit abilitys to by Houses, or make big castles hire mercenarys to protect the castle but i mean more mercenarys!!!
More Quests more lands and if they could put a horse will be nice to because you may tire of being walking and running whitout knowing where you are!!! THE SOUND OH MY THEY MUST WORK HARD ON THAT jUST 1 soundtrack spining around it makes me dizzy!
Put some celtic, mediavel, and drums they will took more adrenaline!!!

Cool and awesome |
| eddy fartface from t says (13/Nov/2003): |
Ever since I started this game,it became awesome. My abilities went up and I even got new items and weapons.the only problems are that it takes a really long time to get to a city that is distant from you and i cant find many tipes of enemies to kill.overall i think this game rocks.

Good or Evil? Orc or Elf? Thief or Cop? Morrowind in a Nutshell. Have Fun. |
| Master Chief's Apprentice from Halo, Deep Space says (24/Apr/2004): |
Morrowind... A nerdy PC game they decided to bring to the Xbox because they realised it's impossible to play games with a Keyboard and a mouse. Welcome to a world or wizards, oddly coloured people (no i've always been green, why?) and people who can survive many swipes with an axe, Welcome to Morrowind!
Gameplay 8/10:
I enjoyed many an hour stealing things and shoplifting and killing people so I could use their house for the night, no in the game... Really. I found stealing things and pick pocketing people on this really fun. So fun I actually joined the thieves guild in a big f< remove me > at *! you to the story line. Of course, it's not all about stealing stuff, there's a plot somewhere to... I think...
Graphics 7/10:
The visuals are great, from the real flowng water to the fire affects, all the way to the gittery frame rate. Oh yeah, the frame rate kind of goes skewish when you see someone in the distance, and the character animation is pretty much avarage. I think the frame rate is something they should definatly think about before making any more Elder Scrolls for the Xbox. It's a shame really...
Sound 4/10:
It really bugged me how the same track of a wolf howling kept going on. And no one talks to you... It's so, lonely...
Lifespan 9/10:
If you can get into it and try to complete it and stuff it'll last you ages, likewise if you just want to steal 1000 gold worth of items from everywhere on ther map. Although it only lasted me a couple of weeks before I got bored. Although that's me, I threw some papers I was asposed to give to the guy to start the story in the river and joined the thieves guild. You can actually try playing it.
Verdict 8/10:
Great game really, although as an RPG it really suffers from a lack of a real storyline and characters you care about. Yeah, maybe I expect to much after playing Final Fantasy, but if there are more RPG's where you can hit and run stealing a 300 gold value sword and just move to another city then I'm all for it. Elder Scrolls IV anyone?
