I like the game but it is really unrealistic. |
| Marco from Seattle, United States says (25/Aug/2005): |
The game was fun at first because it was the first time you played it. But like a week later you notice it is unrealistic. Like if you crash in to a wall I think they should make the wind shield crack a little. The onlything that would happen to your car was a dent and a scratch. Also I have noticed the cities all look the same and that got really boring. But the music and cars were cool.

It's OK! |
| A gamer from Australia says (1/Dec/2003): |
I had problem at start of the game. But it could be very exciting at Kudos Challenge stage.
I've played it twice using different names. The second time I find it easier and I was able to earn 200,000 Kudos at Race 8, Level 9 of the Kudos Challenge.

Boring |
| Dan from Birmingham says (24/Sep/2003): |
OK it looks good, apart from Dusk racing which hurts the eyes. But gameplay wise, if you've played MSR for Dreamcast then don't bother. Its that stupid Kudos thing again. What is Kudos?, who cares.
Graphics - Brilliant
Gameplay - Gets Boring
Cars - Look Nice
Tracks - Dull Lifeless
Car Motion - Handbraking and crashing is unrealistic
Pretty $#< remove me > at !e really, If ya can be bothered to spend many days trying to get kudos then this might appeal, otherwise stay clear and but Midnight Club2 its more fun..

okay, but not good enough |
| Howie from Oregon, USA says (13/Aug/2003): |
I got the best impression of this game the first time I played it. After a few races, however, I got bored and tossed it aside to play some other games. If it wasn't for a free account I got out of a demo disc (lets me listen to all the music, get all the cars, race every track) I probably wouldn't have played it since. What really bothers me about this game is that the throttle isn't pressure sensitive. The controllers for the X-Box have pressure sensitive buttons so you can give it a little gas or just hammer it (it's very useful in certain cornering techniques). Project Gotham gives you a huge selection of sweet cars but depending on what buttons you push you're either slamming the gas or stomping on the brake. This is very frustrating to me. As far as the graphics, I loved 'em. The music was better than any other system I've ever seen. One thing I particularly loved was the view controls, custom height and tilt with fisheye lets you see inside the car (if you're driving a convertible) and realistically ahead so you can still see what you're doing. It's too bad other games haven't used some of the ideas this game has and this game couldn't have used a few basic things to make it the best racing game ever.

great game! |
| Paul from Leeds, England says (30/Jun/2003): |
i like it! this is a great game but too much like the original dreamcast version, (metropolis street racer) i guess it would have to be seen as though its still the same cities (exept for new york) and its still based on the kudos system, and if you think that this is hard you dont stand a cjance on the dreamcast version! but bizzare creations have done it again! another great game and very fun to play!

worth it |
| ashley gilbey from peterborough says (17/Jun/2003): |
Project gotham racing is exquisite. The graphics really put the xbox to the limit.i would suggest project gotham racing to anyone between 11 and 20.You have to have skill aggressoin nerves of steel and a good car to win this game over.its also about agility and kudos, the more you have the more cars you unlock.simple, but gennius.

Meh...great cars & graphics, bad concept-sorta boring |
| Ron from atl, ga says (30/Apr/2003): |
This game is just...meh. It's very mediocre. I'm not saying it's not fun or bad, it actually is QUITE fun, but only for a few laps. There's not enough racing. The game consists of going around tracks and driving "stylishly" to get 'kudos' points. Piss on that! I want to race against other cars. It's kind of boring just racing around a track by yourself to get a good lap time and rack up stupid points. I can do that on any racing game, with the option of competing in a real race. That's what a racing game is supposed to be. That's really my only complaint, but that one complaint almost ruins the game. Control is good, as is sound with a custom soundtrack. Graphics are exceptional even though they're over a year old. All in all it's a fairly decent game and definately worth $20. Sequel will be much better me thinks.

its good but dont buy it know !!!!!!!!!!!! |
| MO SEMAKIEH from peoria / IL / USA says (29/Apr/2003): |
this game is sweet the best car game ive played but the problem that it gets boring the missions are a way too hard and i dont like the way they (kuddos)mean that you have to slide and do some really good moves with your car to get kuddos but i like the way in other games were they use MONEY!!!!! the game is great but project gothem 2 is coming soon or mabe you could buy it its only $20.

Project Gotham racing is VERY ADDICTIVE |
| Ian from Ipswich, England says (1/Apr/2003): |
Project gotham is my fovorite Xbox game, if you have played it you will know why. there has been times when it is lucky i did not have a hammer handy, as you will also know if you have played it, when u run out of time on the last lap with the finish line 1metre in front of you, 1st in a race where you have played a joker and you get nudged out of control or a few Kudos of your target. but dispite all of this you have to go and do it again and keep on going until you do it.

classic |
| The Spider from London says (2/Jul/2002): |
I have to admit, Project Gotham started out as a beautiful disappointment. It had the sweetest graphics i had ever seen, yet it seriously lacked in speed. Driving at full speed in a Z3 down the streets of Tokyo made no difference to driving a hurse to a funeral in Bromley. But then a little bird told me i could up the speed by changing to PAL-60 mode in my xbox settings. This changed my perspective of the game immensly, as suddenly it became worth playing.

A great game but you must be skilled and know cars a little bit!!! |
| Kelvin from L.A says (27/Dec/2001): |
Gotham Racing is a great game but man do you have to be a very good driver!!!
Sometimes you would say how the heck do you have a Z3 and a little bug beats you.... see... you need skill!!
