| Destroyes the old idea that vehical games become rubbish with guns | | Soldier of Hell from Vice City, Miami says (25/Aug/2003): | Bloodwake is an exellent game with spectacular graphics, especially in the water department. The action bits are fast-paced, button-hammering, pure joy. It's great stuff. It's good arcade-style action which action game fans will particullarily enjoy. Great stuff. I've made a list of certain area's of the game.
Gameplay 7/10:
The gameplay is good stuff. The enemies have decent AI and the constant barage of objectives will keep you buisy till the end. Of course, the gameplay isn't without it's falws, sometimes you'll miss something and you'll be going in circles doing nothing until you realise what you've missed. Otherwise good stuff.
Graphics 10/10:
Superb graphics. The water is real like what. It's the best around. Great stuff. The fire as you destroy another warship is great and goes out upon contact with water. It's great. Keep an eye out for the graphics.
Sound Quality 6/10:
The sound ain't great. The guns don't sound real and the explosions aren't that great. Sorry to say, but it fails to impress on sound. Also the voice actors aren't the pick of the crop. It's a chinese-based game and the main character has a strong American accent. Not to great. The pirates are alright-ish. They sound a bit comic to be honest.
Replayability 6/10:
The game can be replayed once or twice, mainly because of the difficulty settings. Not much really.
Multiplayer 8/10:
The multiplayer is great stuff. You and your friends can go against computer characters in an arcade mode or you can go all-out in a big death match. It's 2001 so no Xbox Live. Xbox Live would make it 10/10. But it wasn't possible then...
Overall... [drum roll]... 7/10:
Good game, but fails to addict. The main strength is in the multi-player as the single-player is often slow and fails to addict as you thought it might. Good thoough.
| Never Buy this game unless you see it for less than 5 pounds! | | Scott Bradley from Los Alcazeras says (20/May/2004): | This is one of those games that microsoft released to help lift off the xbox's realese, so it was probobly made within four weeks and thats the reason why its as bad as it is. Graphics are poor and the sound quality is dredfull. All this game consists of is sailing around blowing up any thing you see, how boring. Also the controles are hell to learn and they will make you want to throw you xbox out the window. Only buy this game if you see it cheap or like multiplayer mayhem.
