The game is definately unique. They could add screaming skulls out to die and graphical effects that look like real gore.perhaps some real looking entrails and bleeding effects would add to how fun this game is. Perhaps more sword techniques would make the game better. Perhaps a gladiator pulling the skull out another gladiator's head and driving the spine through the skull might be interesting. or a limb being stomped by horses designed to look real. Also the animals should take a dump

Circus Maximus is finally a new idea in a sea of games which all just mimic each other. I am glad that they kept some of the gore out of this game. I get tired of games which use their gruesomeness to attract people. Finally a game which can stand alone on it's gameplay and not have to use amazing graphics, or disgusting violence.

I've read a lot of bad reviews of Circus Maximus, but still this on is one of my favorite Xbox games. The controls take some time to get used to, I highly recommend the tutorial that comes with the game. It breaks down the skills into managable parts. The graphics are great just not jaw dropping. The ambients sounds are pretty good, but the music needs help (no big deal, I don't play games for the music). Once the controls are mastered, the gameplay is excellent. I enjoyed to cooperative multiplayer as we tried to coordinate the gladiator leaning into the turns as the driver did his thing--a great exercise in cooperation (ie. yelling at each other).
I have 2 gripes. 1) When a chariot wrecks, it is only a moment or two before he is back in the race to there is no real penalty for crashing or advantage for making a kill. Almost all races come to the last lap or even the last turn, and they almost seem predetermined. 2) The taunts the gladiators use would be great in a WWE game, but not in a game of ancient Rome. What kind of taunt is "I'm a baaad girl!" anyway?

I'm Not sure where to start, well here goes.
Gameplay: I'm not sure what people mean about them being hard, I got used to them in about 5 minutes. The gameplay is pretty good, but not very fun after about 30 minutes. Could be better.
Graphics: This is one of the better parts of the game. Are the graphics good? Not really, they are mediocre. Yeah, exactly my point. Ok, lets move on.
Sound: Oh my ***. Not bad, but too generic. Sword clanking sounds from the early 90's, taunts that dont fit (AKA a bull-man yelling "I just kicked your ass") And others that terrible. The horse sounds can get annoying.
Reviewers Tilt: Not Fun at all, the game is boring and repetetive. And all the mediocre graphics and sounds dont help. Also, whats with everyone saying it is original? It is a rip-off of Road-Rash. Only original thing in it is that instead of Motorcycles it is Chariots. Overall I do not recommend this game.

A good game with nice graphics and cool characters. I think this game has cultavated the real Roman archetecture. This game has funny taunts but not good music(you can't really here it). I like Circus Maximus also because it has good levels (my favorite being Circus Nero). The training levels are cool yet hard but still fun. Its also fun because when you die you dont have to restart at a checkpoint or somthing you just start out at near where you died. Plus their are many obstacles like falling colloms and moving rocks, but the funniest thing is the people on the track that you can run over and get their money. Their are also many pickups that include health, speed booster, weapons enhancments, sheilds,and, a throwable projectile. This games fun factor is out of this world!
