| Codename: 45970 from Clayton, USA says (3/Feb/2008): |
Um, I know I'm REALLY late on my reveiw but I was busy playing KOTOR 2 and Jedi Academy, anyways, this game rocks, I'm a little dissapointed in the fighting as It's like Final Fantasy, I would love to fight using the buttons and make it like a button masher like Lego Star Wars but heck, not much to complain about since you DO get to be a sith or a jedi by the desicions you make, I've played Mass Effect and this game gets blown away but,not much wrong here, everything else is brilliant, It's the next gen old gen game, It's very good but yet another thing kinda bothers me, the puzzles, the puzzles are a bit obvious and they actually give away the puzzle. I like the start of the game better than KOTOR 2 for 3 reasons: 1. You're NOT a half-naked guy in a tank.
2. You're abord a ship that's under fire instead of being in a mining facility. And
3. You get help from the start rather than just waking up in a tank and automatically knowing what to do.
But KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 are both outstanding.
PS: Double bladed lightsabers are the way of the future.

Shit dis game is good! |
| A gamer from New York says (4/Jul/2005): |
damn son this game is one of the da best games ever made in my opinion but i don't give a fudge about wat u think. The only reason i gave it a 9 out of 10 was because of the walking.I bet even the characters wanted a brake.the weapons are great each with their own abilities and disabilities. Not only does it give an action feeling but it also gives a tactical sense 2 it. Using your imagination to level up your character may be a little of a fudging bother but still once again it turns out great. THANKS bioware!!!!!!!!!

Very Good Game |
| Will from seattle, usa says (27/Apr/2005): |
Yea this game is really Kewl, some parts are kinda hard like gaining points to be on the light side!, being dark is so much easier to do, If anyone knows an easy way to gain light points, besides being nice in conversations, my pointer to how dark or light i am stays in teh middle for some reason, its like im mixing it up for no reason being on the dark side is funner in talking with people but light side cause the force points takes less to use powers, its a good game havent played KOTOR 2 yet, but i will after i beat this one, just got it last week, just finished off manaan and tatooine and dantooine and of course taris, now im on kasyyyk, if anyone could help me out with getting more light points quicker to where i am in the game please write a review, Thanks
|
it was 1 of the best games i have ever played. YAY!!!! |
| sugna from n.s.w australia says (16/Apr/2005): |
I loved this game it had sort of that originality with i't fantastic graphics like when the ender spire gets blown up,and the sound was ok but they could made your charater talk more.gameplay was really hard but then again could be easy, the lifespan was unbelieveble but they could of gave us more health. It was so much fun to play and about the same fun as the other one's yay!!! thankyou for reading my review look for others on the internet if you please i'm only 11 he he he bye bye bye

Holy S#%t can you get any better!!! |
| Kyle Sexton from Fair Play, USA says (29/Nov/2004): |
Who can say 10, wait who can say 100 because thats what this deserves. I have only heard one complaint, and that was by an idiot. This game rocks. I mean the story is crazy, the twist are insane, and the characters are hilarious, i mean HK-47 was cool as crap, i kept him around just to hear his comments. You can be evil, You can be good, hey if you try hard anough you can be both, two endings, endless ways to get there. Yeah sometimes you feel kind of bad after you just told a woman that she is worthless, and then force persuasion her to jump off a cliff, but still its funny.
This game rocks, so shall the second one. Long live George Lucas

okay but get on with it!!!!!!!!!! |
| dude on a high from queensland,Australia says (23/Sep/2004): |
okay okay i thought it was good but there was just two many stuff ups in this game. like why is it when your kicking maliks ass in the laviathin he becomes even more powerful near the end like wasn't he ment to be already maxed out and the fighting was a bit dodge like how come you only can attack one person at a time or how you don't do many diffrent styles of moves like in jka how you have diffrent styles of fighting being able to change to have a better advantage over the apponate. why is it also that in all these starwars games you can't chose light or dark from the start and follow two different paths i think they should work on making a game like that, and one more thing you guys should stop dissing the dude who doesn't like this game its his opinion not yours i think he has a right to say what he thought of it. peace out.

This game is one of the best that star wars has put out but 2nd to halo. |
| squirrellGod from Forsyth Georgia USA says (22/Aug/2004): |
This game has awsome role playing and a awsome team up fighting skill. also had awsome graphics . but needed more facial choices. but it definetly gets a ten out of ten. it most definetlly i mean definetly got the game of the year title . but the second one we get the title again for the lucas arts team. god bless them guys for making a terrific game for all us videogamers worldwide. this game gots all the terrific bad mouth and good mouth talking to help you join the dak or light side of the force . good action and needs less talking and more of that action.

Sucks my balls |
| John from Melbourne, Australia says (11/Aug/2004): |
I recently, no wait scratch that, I gave a review on this game over a year ago and still have to endure emails from you idiodic star wars geeks. I have no problem with those of you who like star wars, as do I, however if emailing me with your beliefs of how wrong I was makes you feel better, get a life. The graphics are sub par, the story line was terrible, fight scenes cut every corner to just make it pass as decent and even when you think it couldnt get worse, they give you no rewards at all for defeating the game. Again, after a year I still have to endure stupid emails from people who loved this game so I figured I would give another post a YEAR LATER and make you suck on my other nut. If you seek a real game, buy Doom 3, or if you want the same consol, wait for Fable. Those are real games boys, not this garbage you rave about. Go ahead, rate my review as terrible, see if I care. If you even consider buying this game over a year after its released you should be hung with a xbox controller and even worse, if you even consider emailing me again over this pathetic game, I will have Jaba the Hut sit on you.

Dude |
| Jacob from NC,USA says (10/Aug/2004): |
This game is the best out there. if anyone gave it below a 10, they are crazy. It has a great story line. It has the best replay value I have ever seen. This is a game where a 10 just dosen't cover it.The force powers are the best. Your feats are just as good. And you NCPs are timeless. Star Wars Knights of the Old Repunlic will rock your world and then some. It is worth the money. And you will spend sleepless nights playing it. There are puzzles, not to hard, not to easy. The sound when the gameplay gose into combat is the best sound ever. There are suprizes, love(yes love, but is still a great game)and fighting to rule over the galxy or save it from evil. Each time you play it you will see something you missed or didn't notice. The combat level: easy, normal, or hard can be changed through out the game. It sounds like anthor star wars game, but is in a diff. ballpark. When you first turn on the game a pick your charcter, male or female, you can pick there face and abilitys. The first time you play it will give a brand new deffination to the words Role Playing Game. The graphics in this game are to be giving a gold metal. The cut-senes are the coolest ever, and the bad guys you face have there own fighting style. The great part of this game is that you can have up to nine NPC Chactors, but you can only use two of them at a time, you and up to two NPCs can be with you. All with a special talent and coversations that you can have with them. No matter how you look at Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is the best game out there.

A SUPERIOR GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Jess from Alaska, USA says (20/Jul/2004): |
I think this game is excellent!!! Weapons,Characters,Items and more! This game has it all!Except more action you only find action in these levels.LOWER CITY,UNDERCITY,DATOOINE, and other levels. The level with the most action is STAR FORGE.Its kind of sick because Zallabar rips off a gorremen`s arm and eats it but spits it out.I like to beat up the BLACK VULKARS or the RAKGHOULS.I am a swordsplayer I like to use the EHANTI RITUAL SWORD or the VIBROBLADE.And I go heavily armed.(HEAVY COMBAT SUIT,HEAVY BLASTER and 62 medpacks.I don`t like BENDAK STARKILLER he`s to hard to beat. And sometimes Carth and Mission fight just because they call Mission a little kid. Also sometimes it gets complicating.I don`t know if I want to be a dark jedi or a light jedi. But heres a tip- before you start your death match against BENDAK STARKILLER, you'll earn dark side points.
I hope I've given you enough information. May the force be with you!

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Mike from Vermont, USA says (15/Jun/2004): |
How can you not like this game?!? ok so maybe the fighting system could be more user oriented, but so what?!?!
The graphics are the best ive ever seen, the story is great, the plot twist in the middle is VERY unexpected, and its Starwars! I like the use of light sabers and love to customize mine, but i do not agree with their power. come on! Qui-Gonn can cut through a like 5 foot thick wall! why cant a lightsaber kill a kinrath or a kath hound in one hit? I have completed it once so far on the good side. i like the starforge but holy crap thats alot of Sith! over all i give it a 10! its a must have for starwars lovers.
|
kick-ass game, but can be better |
| mike from Vicksburg, USA says (12/May/2004): |
KOTOR is a excellent game with the story line, great graphics, and character level ups (to me it makes the game more realistic, and i love realistic games, not any cheap crap). the fighting is a lil lame having to attack one at a time, but it doesnt ruin the game (i mean come on u dumbasses). i dont have many problems with freezing cuz all u gotta do is NOT lay mines (layin them is stupid anyway cuz they dont do crap, they just waste space). seriously i would love is KOTOR 2 would come out. things i would say i would want in it would be more fighting moves, force powers, levels, and choices of things to say. thats all i got so later folks

KOTOR: SWEET BUT NOT SICK |
| Clayton Sills from Judsonia, AR says (2/May/2004): |
Hey, dont get me wrong, KOTOR is totally sweet, but I agree with the dude from Vegas, KOTOR 2 should be realistic; kinda like Jedi Acadamy, but more things get cut off.
But the fighting is kinda lame, I mean if my 5 year old cousin can beat the thing in 2 days on hard mode, come on!
Also, why cant u do cheats on the X-box? 'Cause if u cant take the game to the next level, am I right?
Quick question, if you beat the game in 4 hrs is that some kinda record?
Yo, I got a little hint 4 ya, the fastest way through taris, dont do any sidequests.
|
best game but not too realistic to the Star Wars Galaxy |
| Dave from Illinois, USA says (12/Apr/2004): |
Don't get me wrong I love the game, I've beaten it almost 50-60 times, longest running time was 25 hrs. so it's not for the faint of heart. The only thing I wish they would have done was stuck to the reality that Geroge Lucas created.
IF YOU ARE HIT WITH A LIGHT SABER YOU DIE! please it's a high intinsity laser that was shown in the movies to instantly slice through any limb or droid.
Plus, I was on Korriban with bastila and full darkside points, would I not tell Master Uthar that I had the Jedi that Lord Malak wanted?!?!
And I hope that you have a choice in the begining of KOTOR2 to start out as an evil jedi!
if you're having any problems with the game e-mail me, I'll give ya a walk though on the area ya need.

BEST GAME EVER |
| No named asshole from Las Vegas,Nevada.USA says (22/Mar/2004): |
I have no idea what that one guy was thinking but KOTOR is the best Star wars game ever and it not short it takes even a expert gamer at least 30+ to beat it and there are two differnt stories the light side and the dark side it personlly is the best game ever and i know becae i own alot of xobox and pc and ps2 games it ranks among the top to to be played over and over again.so lay back and grap a soda and a back of chips because Kotor is all that you will be doing.:0 have fun and peace out.

Good game, but not the best |
| THE NOODLE from Oregon, USA says (13/Mar/2004): |
Don't get me wrong kotor is a great game, but i know Lukius arts can do better with the game play.Kotor has some of the best graphs i've ever seen(i play it on a computer), has one of the best story lines of all time and it's STARWARS. But there are still things i would like to point out as thing that keep the pace to slow and give me a headace. First The one thing that relly botherd me was the fact that it paused every time you came by a bad guy or, secend when you are facing forwerd and you press back and you turn in a circle, third there is know way to look up or down, forth why does your levels stop at 20?, and fith IT'S TOO SHORT. Those are the relly the only things that i disliked about the game, but even with these it dident stop me from playing the game thru 6 or 7 times.

BEST STARWARS GAME YET |
| Greg from toronto ont canada says (1/Mar/2004): |
Ok I represent the canadian point of view. This game has amazing graphics and the main plot is unbelivable all the hidden twists in the game. The game also gets pretty emotional. A summary of the the plot would go like this...
You a soldure of scoundrle or something like that and your ship is under atack. You get basic help from your room mate. He shoes you how to egupie weapond clothes and view your stats. You must the fight your way through some basic sith soldures.
You catch the last escape pod and you meet up with Carth. You then crashloand on a planet called taris. You compleet various quests in 1 of 3 levles. upper city, lower city, under city. Once you do most f that you then rescue the wounded jedi bastila. Then the game gets good.
You become a jedi. ill tell you more in my next review on the game twomarrow.
-Greg

Mint but still room for improvment |
| CoolGamer from England, Wakefield says (20/Feb/2004): |
I have played this game and completed it. It is great!!!!!!! It's challenging and it has a great storyline. The only thing I would like to see done in the Star Wars KOTOR 2 is a battle mode where you press a button to do a move and a button to block when the game enters battle mode. I especialy like how the story has surprises like, I thought you would have to save Bastila when she was kidnapped by Darth Malak or she would not turn to the dark side and escape but in the nd she turns to the dark side.Customising your own lightsaber is great also. I can't choose which is better, double blade or twin held lightsabers. I luv the cast you get, my personal favourite is Bastila. Oh yeh and before I forget, if you have just got the game, when you become a apprentise you have get rid of the dark side in the grounds. Don't kill Juhani, persist in getting her to turn back and you will be rewarded by getting her in your party. She aint as good as Bastila but she can pack a punch. If you have read this far you have liked my review so for you few who can be bothered to read reviews heres a cheat for you. It's called Jedi levels beyond 20. WHen you are on Taris keep your main character on level two, any further and the cheat cannot be done. Keep it like that until you get your lightsaber and then level up all the levels you should of done as a scout or soldier or whatever and use them as a jedi. You will twenty level ups as a jedi and a free whatever you got on Taris. Happy playing and if you are reading this and havent yet got the game but are looking at reviews to choose on Soul Calibur 2 or Star Wars well I know what I'd choose, Happy Gaming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOT STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| KENNEY from AZ, USA says (17/Feb/2004): |
This is the best game that I have ever played. It has the best plot ever. I used to think star wars was stupid but after playing the game, I love it.I agree with Dan, it needs some type of transportation. Other than that it rocks. On the star forge I think they went a little overboard with the attacking jedi but that just makes it harder and a lot more fun. I like that you can choose what you say. That makes it alot better. I really like the end battle with malak. I like the fact that you can drain the jedi with life drain or death feild befor him so he cant regain life. It makes the battle alot esaier.
P.S. Ilove the alternate endings!

Almost too good for Humanity!!!!!!!! |
| Dorkwad from Coolville says (26/Jan/2004): |
This game was the "best" game I ever played. The graphics were (and always will be) amazing. All I didn't like was all the math. Did the game freeze for you a lot, or was it just my two copies? I liked how you could go to the Dark Side, or the Light Side. The only other thing I didn't like was that you couldn't be Malak's Apprentice. How come you couldn't sell te Carath? The Big Wookie was an idiot. I hate him. I hope his head gets chopped off and he dies a bloogy gruesome death. Die die die.
