Great Action + Awesome Characters + Good Story = Brute Force. |

I love Brute Force. I just want people to know that. It is really an excellent game, and in my opinion, its original, even though it takes things from other games, it is still a great game, original in my opinion.
Concept - Take a great Squad Based 3rd person shooter, great graphics and futuristic settings, with amazing enemies. Add a giant lizard man named who runs like a frog named Brutus, and you've got yourself one heck of a game.
Graphics - Smooth, textured. Now heres a good game, with great framerate, and has tons of action going on at the time.
Sound - Brutus sounds like a total pimp when he talks, there isn't much music going on until the guns start a-blazing, but thats ok, the low music adds to the build up to a big fight.
Playability - Controls took me about 3 minutes to figure out, and that is because I had just finished playing Ghost Recon, with an opposite looking feel. Xbox controller totally rocks these controls. Get the Xbox S though...
Entertainment - Definetly the best part of the game. Getting to control a gun blazer Tex ( who by the way can weild a machine gun as well as a shotgun... at the same time ), a Lizard looking beast named Brutus ( who, in his feral or something form, can detect enemies in dark places, and can regenerate health ), a chick named Hawk ( you want to barge into an area full of terrorists? let hawk go in there first with her stealth ability to count them, or make sure its safe, but go fast) and another one named Flint ( who is the best sniper this side of the alps, especially with her Auto-Aim skill ) and you got the coolest characters in a Squad Based shooter for a long while. By the way, the action is fareakin' awesome.

Saterdaymorning,I just bought Brute Force at the nearest gameshop and i put it in my xbox.I first noticed the people from Microsoft studios added some demo's to the CD,whats pretty cool,but now the most important thing was brute force itself.
From the start I notticed that BF wouldn't be so easy as Halo was.The enemies were from the start pretty smart and had good equipment.That a good thing.The Controls were pretty much the same as Halo so thats also good.The graphics are good,but not really the strongest part of the game.As the missions passed,I got to know my team and every mission was a real challenge,to use the perfect caracter on the perfect time,to find the DNA,etc.
Except the campaign,you can also play multiplayer.Or you can use one caracter and play against you're friends,or you pick yourself are force to battle your'e friend.The last one is very fun.At the beginning you will only be able to use the Brute Force but as you get the DNA's from all the species you will unlock the forces from enemies that u can use in multiplayer.
My conclusion: Brute Force may not be HALO,but it has his own cool things at that makes it a good game.

Ahem. For those who have commented on brute force's 'bad graphics.' you need to get out more. EVERYTHING is done in bump mapping. EVERY thing. Halo had about half of the stuff done as bump mapped. for those who don't know what this is, i'm not wasting time in explaining, but know that it takes time on the developers part, and makes games and lighting more realistic. If you haven't noticed there are severe differences in other games just because the graphics engines are a little more complex, and some are able to contain bump mapping. Multiplayer framerate is iffy, semi scratchy at times with lots of motion. Controls are smooth, and the leadership had been tried before, in games like playstation's rainbow six, but never as smoothly and easy to pick up. Each characters ability makes the game interesting and also forces use of each player, instead of having one guy and the rest trail behind for the whole game. Repetitive levels, no strong plot, and not enough variety in enemies took off three stars.

By no means is Brute Force is a perfect Ten, but holy crap it isn't a 3 or 4 either. If you rate it a Ten you are comparing it to games like "King" Halo, or (the best game ever in my opinion) Grand Theft Auto; Vice City. And if you rate it a 4 you are comparing it to junk like Shrek. Now if you took the time to break this game down it deserves a score more in the 8-9 range. If you are actually looking for a more realistic review I will break it down by 5 categories...
Graphics - 10
Sound - 9
Game Play - 8.5
Replay Value - 9
Fun Factor - 8.5
P.S. NERDS... STOP COMPARING THIS GAME TO "KING" HALO. Who said it has to be as good as Halo. This game is a success, and it will sell well.

I got Brute Force yesterday and from then on I've been hooked. The graphics are amazing! Each area is fully detailed with little bumps to rocks or twigs! The only thing I dislike about the game is the fact that it's in third pirson view. And when you are in the heat of battle and all of a sudden you can't see the bad guys because your co-op is in the way of your view. I've died tree times because of that! But for those of you who think that this game might compare to Halo your wrong. The weapon detail is much better and I really liked being able to control the diffrent tipes of vihicles. And in Brute Force it becomes a big pain ordering your squad around. First you tell them to run in guns blasting but then you see a groop of guys with mini-guns that are taring them apart by the time you give the order ther're already dead. Another thing that was good about Brute Force though is the great quality of the sound. Hearing the co-ops tald with perfect facial movements is pretty cool! Overall the game is alot of fun! You get to command awesome operatives and use some of coolest weapontry known to man. You also get to play one of the gest multiplayer games of all times. The only major downfall is that if you don't want to really get into the game and give it some thought instead of just running in guns blazzing tring to take down the enemies as if they were little flies, this might not be the game for you. But for me the game was a totally worth my fifty dollors, and if you have Xbox then I recomend it for you!

Ive played many xbox games including halo in which i have. the other day i played brute force. Brute force i like a little bit better but i think it somehow ties with halo. Brute force in my opinion has everything u would want in a game, aliens, dinosaurs, wizards, mustants, different worlds with your own team of specialists. Ive had it for one day and already have beat it... On standard anyways...

Brute Force is one of the best games i have ever played.Althoughy it's a little slow to begine the story line,a bit over rated though. Fun to play in third person,great sound,awesom graphics. also it isn't very original. The characters are great because the are all different and specialise in different areas. It has awide range of weapons to choose from through out the game plus you can swap between the players.
Multiplayer is great and so is co-opperative mode.

First we will get the bad points out of the way (as there is only two of them):
Lack of gameplay after you have found all DNA canisters and have no body to play two-player with.
Female players have really short life spans.
Now for all the good points in the game (meaning I am going to contradict Halo):
You can give orders to your team (unlike Halo).
Variety of characters (unlike Halo).
More realistic weapons than Halo.
More enemy types than Halo.
Variety of special techniques (None in Halo).
Now onto a description of the game, the graphics are increadably affective if not realistic, exactly the right music is played at exactly the right time. With the ability to pick a squad and lead it against another player. Or pick a character and lead it against another players character. With the ability for 1-4 players or 1-8 over system link this game is how you say, top?

I bought this game as soon as it came out, and I'm glad I did.
I do have to admit that the story line in one-player is really disorganized.(it never developes). But it really makes up for its multiplayer! This game is a great game, although i expected better it's still pretty good.

Whoever likes Halo will love "Brute Force." It has pretty good graphics, but they aren't as good as Halo's. The gameplay is awesome, but gets repetitive after the first few levels. The models for the main Characters are really good. The voice-overs are good, to me the best VO is for Brutus. The controls are sort of like Halo's system. The sound in the game is good, and a couple of the sounds the enemies use are weird.(example: The Seer sounds are weird to me) It is pretty easy to beat with 2 or more people, but playing by yourself will make the game harder. So if you have a X-Box, and love semi-challenging shooters, you'll love Brute Force.

This game is one step foward from halo. It also a more diverse in game diversatly. The idea of having a more chess like stategic gameply picks up where halo fell short allowing a longer game due to an enevitable trial and error. the multiplayer is also immensely better than halo, allowing to take control of the different characrters at will. I must for all XBOX users.

ive played halo and this game is just like it, xcept fpr the fact that you can play 4 player co op instead of just two. Also u are different character, while one is good at snipering another is good at running in and shooting the crap out of everyone before they know whats happening. Co op is really good but if you arent playing co op, you can switch between the 4 different characters on your team so you can be the person you want to be at any time.

Well, I've been playing B.F. for about a couple hours, and I've already been drawn into its world. The graphics and sound were definitely the first thing that I noticed. Much work has obviously been put into this game. The detail really is innovative and life like with fluid movements. The sound is also great with dolby surround. Wow, what a difference.
Gameplay I really like. Controls are like Halo, but team based and 3rd person perspective to give you a full view of whats going on. It really works well. Each character has special abilities which creates many different strategies on approaching enemies. Warning, this game is very addictive on multiplayer co-op and deathmatch. I'm sick of writing about it. If you own a x-box, you need to buy this game. If you don't own a x-box, you have my sympathy.

I think that this game is a cool game but i do not think it is as good as halo close but no and i think halo 2 is going to be alot cooler then the first one. Overall this game is very cool the best thing about is that you can play co op with three other people and play against up to seven other people.

Brute Force is cool and shows promise, but Halo is still KING! The Multiplayer in Brute Force dosn't compair to Halo. The first thought I had when I played the Multiplayer mode was what a let down. I do like the change in pace of the campain mode. But only until Halo 2 finaly comes out. Stupid Microsoft, screwing up another thing.

I dont know how some of you think this game is better than Halo...it's not even close. I like the first person view, weapons,graphics,story,and game play in Halo better than this game. Don't get me wrong,this is a really cool game.I like the fact that you don't just have one character, I like the multiplayer "squad deathmatch" it's really fun. But It is simply not better than Halo :)

First, the quality of review for this game on this site is horrible! Second, THIS GAME IS NOT HALO!!! Do not assume this game is at all the same. Do not compare the two games at all! The single player, and even the two player co-op game is acceptable--the four player co-op and deathmatch however are not. The characters in third person perspective take up too much of the already limited viewing area. Brute force is not a bad game, though I feel the game would work better on-line than it does off. The main problem is that all four players must be willing to play a particular role and use an individuals characteristics to its potential. The weapons each person can carry is limited--specific weapons for specific characters. The special abilities for each character are nice, but proves unbalanced in deathmatch. Aside from these problems the game is well designed and plays quite nice. I would recommend renting it first but if you feel you have what it takes, then by all means chech it out.

The wait was defenetly worth it. This game is absolutely goergeous, the detail in the environments and characters is beyond comprehension. The sound too is top notch. But, is it fun? I have been playing this game for the last 13 hours straight and I can bearly manage to stay away from it for a few minutes at a time (damn cortesy calls). If you owen an XBOX this is a must buy if you like third person shooters, or action games. RE: This is not a first person shooter so buyers beware!
