| Tetris - getting on a bit | | Sam Sedgman from Grimsby, England says (4/Jan/2003): | Well the classic tetris makes its mandatory appearence on the XBOX, and to be honest it hasn't impressed me at all. Having played the Gameboy version so very long ago I was hoping I would be gripped by this version with the XBOX powerful enough to handle spondooly graphics and amazing sound. Unfortunately the developers haven't really bothered. I guess there is only so much you can do, but still I think it this game needs to laid to rest before it dies a death. Lets start with graphics, hmm, from the main menu to the various locations, not much eye fodder to appreciate. Sound is repetative and I find I have to turn it down, which is never a good sign. Gameplay starts off good and there are a few to choose, but personally I feel none other than the original really grasp your attention and you feel the addictiveness and gameplay of the ORIGINAL tetris is missing. Overall I wasn't impressed, die hard fans will probably love it, but this game has very little to offer. The multiplayer doesn't even save it. You feel along with the sub-standard graphics, the repetative sound and the very limited gameplay this should be the last outting and should only be purchased as a sale item.
