this game is da booooooooooooooomb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | | iceman from Canada says (23/Nov/2004): | this game is the best my friend owns it and me and my brother go to her house every 2nd weekend and we play this alot first we started with a peogeot and it did us good till we found out how to sell and raise the price thats when we were rolling in the doh my bro bought the camaroz28 suped that baby up and set off to the drag race and dame that car can go i think it is the best car for draging he beat the drag race on automatic it was that good sooo we beat that a couple times then one all the cars obviusly well i took the charger suped it up and he took the cheveel and did the same then i took my charger out of the garage and dame it had way to much power to race so sold it for 100,000,000, and guess what....it sold man bought supra twin turbo suped it up and it was awsome im sticking with the supra and then my bro sold the camaroz28 and bougt a corvette stingray suped it up and know were on the licence over the a licence whats that called again o ya s license were stuck on that for know its only because the car were not used to also the car selcection is great really great for sega also the audio/music/sound effects are extremly good i recomend this game to anyone who likes racing and suping up games i hope the make a new vesion of sega gt i think it whoops gt3(grand torismo 3) please e-mail me i also have msn so holla

The replays are annoying after a while because u have to keep pressing start and exiting the replay . Gran Turismo and this game are pretty much alike , but I like this game alot more because u can upgrade the cars a whole heck of alot more . I don't know what some of you people are talking about when you say this game is the most horrible game for Xbox . This is a pretty well done game . It goes into a very great much of details . For , example : You can tune yor car , upgrade it , choose the color , you can sell it , and you can even take pictures to hang in your garage ! Yes , this game does get boring after a while , but if u actually have a life and don't spend all your time playing video games it can be pretty fun !!!! LOL go read a book or do something reproductive for once ! does that sound familiar ?? Well I give it a 9 out out of ten stars for its great graphics , very well done gameplay , and overall fun factor as it says in the review guidelines . The only down side to this game is the game killers ! Like for example : License B and License A they are both considered game killers . (Game killers - Levels , glitches , etc . that stop u from completing the objective or in this case win the race or license . )

There i was expecting a game to absolutely blitz gran turismo 3 in terms of graphics, gameplay and options and instead got a poor imitation of the original gran turismo. I must confess that i think gt3 is an excellent game so i was hoping that us x-box gamers would have something a bit special, given the far superior capabilities of our machine, yeah sure the rendering of the cars themselves is impressive(if a little too shiny) but the backdrops are very disappointing and that heat shimmer, is it supposed to be that noticeable? I can't imagine so.also the music is absolutely dire, it's just as well you can put your own choons on it! on the plus side though the selection of cars isn't bad (although no where near as good as gt3)and the ford gt concept just thrashes everything except the caterham! that said when are games companies going to realise that unless you can tune the arse off peugeot 206's and the like we just ain't interested, what we really want are big scary-fast hellraisers with stupid amounts of power just like in,yes i'm gonna say it again,gt3! the bottom line is the x-box is so much better than ps2 or gamecube so why do we get ps2 hand me downs and sub standard games are you listening microsoft?
| Great game | | A gamer from Paris,USA says (3/Jan/2003): | I just got the game over Christmas.Of couse I had to play it for the first week none stop.I loved it.The graphics in the game are pretty good but,satifactory.The detail of the car was great in the garage down to the reflection of the fans on the roof.So over all the graphics get a 8/10 from me.The sounds of the game are excellent with suround sound.The sound changed from each side when a car would pass.So the sound is GREAT 9/10.The game play is pretty good.You can only do so much.So gameplay is about a 6/10.Lifespan isnt the best.Some people seem to get tired of doing the same thing over and over.So a 5/10 from me.The originality is kind of like a repeat of Grand Turismo 3 for PS2.But the cars arnt as good.But I like the extra goods you can buy for your shop.And also the replay and ghost car video modes you can buy is great.So origiginality is a 7/10 from me.I my self think they should have a $#< remove me > at !pit veiw for games like that. They seem more realistic that way.So over it is a good game, from me it gets a 8/10.If you have an X-Box you should get this game.

I've just spent a few minutes looking through the reviews below and cannot believe some of the things I've read. Someone saying they cant get their top speed above 202kph, not being able to do the drag in less than 11seconds??? I've only been playing the game for 6hrs and ive already had the lotus Esprite (11.5 secs drag top speed 220+) Ford GT390 Concept (9.6secs drag Top speed 240+) The ford Drag time was WITHOUT close ratio gears or Boost turned up to the max and its top speed was without High speed gearbox. For people moaning about having to come to a stand still before taking corners try adding racing tires (and keeping them maintained) and setting your racing suspension to in between medium and hard. For easy money when putting a car up for sale treble the inintial price and then bring it down sequentially every 1-2 race days, ie...I bought the Ford GT390 for 150,000 didn't do anything to it and put it up for sale straight away for 249,950 after a couple of days I had sold it for 229,000, a profit of 79000, and you can do that over and over again. I also won the Merc SL and sold it for 75,000.
| Sega GT 2002 | | Đigital §pirit: from WGC, England says (27/Dec/2002): | Well I got this game free, I had GT3 on PS2 and I think it is a big improvement, the lisence system is shorter and easier, the in game graphics are superb, the choice of cars is very nice and I think Sega have used their "trademark" way of adding in lil extras that u can but which arent necessary but if u'r like me buy anyway.
Hint for Beginners:
Start wiv the peugeot 206 (such a gr8 car), will cost 13,000 exactly, do the 1st official race as its easy, then keep doin drag races, (go into the game options and turn TCS off, this will make u will spin at start but will kick u off at 40....nice) win all round in the drag race and recieve a free car (the dodge charger). Use this car to win drag races more easily until u get the special drag race car which u can then sell for bout 25,000, keep saving, sell ur 206, and use the charger to carry on winnin races until u hav bout 55,000 (its easier than it sounds, dont be put off) use this to buy a "Lotus Exige", this is the daddy of all cars, I still use mine (however mine is 100% tuned), it has amazin acceleration and handlin, u can clock the game wiv this car, tune it up and be amazed.........Good Luck!!!

Sega GT 2002,the follow up to that rather crappy Dreamcast game, Sega GT,is just another medicore racer which trys to be up there with the big racing games, but just falls short. You need to upgrade your car in this game alot, and if you dont, you will loose, garenteed. It dosent matter how much skill you have or how many racing games you played,if you dont upgrade that car, you'll loose. I dont always feel like upgradeing a car in a game, either. But this game almost forces you to. The graphics arent all that impresive, either. Project Gotham Racing has much better graphics,and it came out a few months before this horrible mess of a game. The cars just dont look really appealing, either, dispite some of the licences. This game is just pretty damn boring. I mean even if you do upgrade your freaking car its just boring to play. It trys to be a sim and an arcade racer, but you cant just do that.You have to pick one way or the other.For these reasons alone, I feel you shouldent buy this game or rent it. Sega GT 2002 is the worst racing game on Xbox. Get Project Gotham Racing instead.
| Good solid game, just lacks replay value | | Super Gaijin from Charlottetown, PEI says (14/Dec/2003): | It took me a couple of tries to get a good season mode going but I finally got the cashflow going to keep up with my opponents. There's a decent amount of vehicles but some manufacturers are seemingly wasted (like Ford and Chevy, they each had only 2-3 different cars).
It's all about getting the Opel Speedster and building it up with super racing tires and all the other upgrades you can get for it. The car has nothing but handling and nice acceleration. Not much for top speed but so long as you know how to drive, you can own anyone out there with it. I've beaten the Corvette Z06 in the final race of the first season with the Opel Speedster, and that's obviously without all the upgrades.
It has its good points and its bad points and after finishing the season completely, there's nothing else to do. There's no replay value since the game's just long enough to make you want to never go through that again. The only fun thing to do afterwards, and even then it's not THAT fun, is make enough money to buy EVERY car in the game (and keep all the unlocked ones) and do full upgrades to every one of them.
One question, however, why is there no handbrake?

Some of the things that have been submitted on this page wouldent even be worthy of a golden star or sticker from my old 1st grade teacher.
Now, I have played copious amounts of racing sims, car games etc. on various consoles in my time, and I am a huge fan of Gran-Turismo. Although, I am reviewing Sega GT 2002 for the X-Box, and do not wish to compare to GT3 or any other for that matter, but only to say that this game would have to be one of the best I am yet to experience. Combining a true racing feel with the luxury of over 125 cars to choose from AND modify is something that sets it apart. The realism of the exterior car detail is astonishing, yet i must say that although not a huge factor this game does lack in the area of scenery, i would have thought that with such attention to detail with the cars they would have put more effort into the scenery. Yet this games' pros does far out do the cons. This game is a true achievement in the area of "racing sims" and indeed deserves its recognition.
| GT2002 vs GT 3? | | Chris from LA Cali says (28/Dec/2002): | I'm an avid player of both games, and I have to admit. I got this game not thinking it was going to be good at all. I mean seriously, who gets a good game for free right? I was pleasantly surprised when I started up my system and found the game to be much like Gran Turismo. I'll admit, gran turismo does have more interaction with your car as well as more advanced customization, however, there are some reality issues with the cars. First and foremost, the VR4, RX7, and the Toyota Supra. These are cars with turbos already equiped. So it makes sense that you shouldn't be able to buy a turbo and strap it on without removing the old one. Yet in GT3, you can do this. Also, if the turbo already exists, you should be able to tweak. However, in the games, you can't. There are few other little things as well. GT3 is a great game though but now on to GT2002. My exhaust system cracked open! How cool is that?! Of course it sucked having to replace it, but that's what you get when you buy used equip and push it to the limit ;). Now that's realistic. GT3 and GT2002 are great games though, I don't think anyone should knock either of em.

Save yourself the trouble and buy one of the Nascar games or Splinter Cell because this game, shouldn't even be called a game..It's more like a bad acid trip or seeing your parents have sex or something...

I love the large selection of cars , and the fact that you can load your self with money , pritty quickly. I when from black fiat Punto , tuned so much is burnt out the muffler within 10 races , to a fully pimpped lotus Exege , meaning the races are very differnt , each time you race , making the experiance better , each and every time your set foot into your car. I have tried and tested LOADS of rivel car games , and have never come across such a fun and edgy game as this , I will give anyone £100 , who can provide me with a game , better , than this. The story line and Garage setting , are a great plus in this game , a main noticable differnce from most car games. I have to say , I particualy like the option to buy thing to put in the garage! Tuning , building and re-working your car , just adds to the fun of this story lined game , I have spend many an hour on the game , racing in the classic cars , as well as in the supercar championship , and though this game is edging on outdated , its still the number 1 in my collection.

I love the GT Concept it is easy to handle and you can buy it and you don't have to win it. i took the Concept and stolked it so that it has 720hp and the best tires, brakes, and gears. I put nitro in it and now it runs great. The only thing i am disapointed about is that the game doesn't have the best muscle car of all the Shelby Cobra which is the best looking and fastest muscle car there ever was. I think any ways. I also think that this game was good enuff to have a sequal and i hope that if microsoft does make another game that they will add Pontiacs, Shelby's, and porches'. The other thing is that the last lisence test the SS is way to hard up. If you spin the tires you shouldn't have 3 whole blocks taken away and if your tail end slides you shouldn't get blocks taken away. Hell I have seen people do that on the streets and in my city and they still got there lisence. so i hope you take my words to mind and do something about it.Know I hope you understand what us gamers think about well we use your products.

| GT vs GT 2002 | | speedy from TN says (5/Jan/2003): | GT 2002 as far as realizem handling rules gt-3 , for thos of you who are wondering what the fastest car is its the ford gt concept the (yellow one) and i hate ford time u add everything to it + nitro ( top speed of 203 ) it makes times of 8 sec in the drag use a mt to get that timei could lap atleast 1 car in every race but for thelast one on season 2, i was really disaponted the 3000 gt wasent in this game it was a real let down it was the fastest car in gt-3 good tose up between skyline and 3000 gt. best feature about this game the wear and tear on the car raceing games like this have needed that feature. They can get rid of that camera crap tho make a option to turn it off. it did lack the tune able options that we all loved in GT-3 and the where was the parts information at ? it gave like a 5 word sentace and that was to tell what it was not the specs and so on MS should come up with there own game im sure it would be 100 times better then sega gt and ps gt by far well thats my opion for today great game over all but lacking serouisly in some departments

The fact that you can't buy turbines for the Viper or the Corvette really bugs me. I love the graphics, and I love the way the cars look so realistic. This game puts Grand Turisimo at the bottom of the ocean. Overall GT 2002 is the best racing game I have ever played. I think there should be more seasons, because it took hardly any time to finish the first two seasons. They were really easy. There is one more thing I do not like about Sega GT 2002 : The fact that after every race, it always wants to give you a replay. I think there should be an option at the place where you choose the race that asks me if I want a replay or if I want to race a different race or if I want to rematch my previous race. The races themselves are awesome, but the fact that it always asks for a replay annoys me because I have to press start and exit out of it. I wish I didn't have to do that.
But overall Grand Turisimo is nothing compared to this game. Best racing game ever!!!

I mainly bought it because of all the hype that it was the gran-daddy of all racing games. What an idiot i was. I was very displeased with the limited selection of tracks, tunable items other than the engine, and most of all 4 players! I think this game is very well polished with par graphics (not even close to splinter cell graphics), and a varied amount of cars and manfacturers. It goes downhill after that, the cars and manufacturers are varied but their very unrealistic, unlike you others a camaro can indeed run a 12 second 1/4 mile now it may not be a 4th gen but a heavier 67' camaro with a little nitrous (not NOS you import bitches!) and for the supra who gives a #uck why should sega even bother releasing it into america if its not all AMERICAN CARS?! sega should have put MUSCLE CARS (new and old) on the game period, it would have sold alot better. Maybe its just me but i don't see any 502 engines in this game either, whats up with racing games and gay a$$ rice burners, and 4 bangers????

Let me just say it's the best system thus far. Moving along, I don't play many games and definetly not racing or sports games but I found a new love. I can't put the controller down for a minute! 2002 is the best racing game out there it blows Gran Turismo out of the box. The cars are bad ass, the setup is pretty good and the competition is more than decent. I do have a couple of beefs with it. The license tests are a little much. I have them all but the SS and that one is just insane. I have the for concept GT running 9.433 in the drag race and 1st place with best in all my races but I can't pass the SS test. Also the view in the garage leaves a lot to be desires. I own all the goods from the used parts menu and all are clustered in the one half but none in the bar {hardly}. A lamborghini would be nice or buick Grand National but I'll say all in all this game is a top 20 game for XBox, or I'll eat it!!!!

| Top graphics, brilliant gameplay, laps Gt3 before it has even started | | Andrew Barrett from Swindon says (14/Nov/2003): | I got my xbox as a christmas present from my parents in 2002 and it came with sega gt 2002. Since I started playing the game I haven't been able to put it down. The graphics are outstanding, there is a wide variety of cars to choose from and enough races to keep you playing solid for at least five months. The license tests are quite hard but not impossible. I managed to get them all eventually, managing the SS license test by just over a second. Along with the standard cars there are a few secret cars that can only be unlocked by completing specific races. The game is incredibly large with the first season five stages long, each stage having multiple races in it, at the end of the season there is a world championship race to complete then another season of racing. Overall Sega Gt 2002 is a top notch racer that deserves praise heaped over it in bucketloads. The best racer on XBOX and any platform. Well done SEGA.
