think u can beat my record in drag racing?try it biatch:7.25secs |
| A gamer from usa says (2/Oct/2003): |
guys u wanna know whats the best way to finish this game. then listen to u daddy here. find someone like ur brother, or cousin or even a friend who have an xbox and sega gt. Drag race with ur car and try to get the best time. Then tell him to break the record. Until he is not able to break it u can call ur self the king/champion of racing games. If he is able to break it he gets the championship from u.
Me and my friend do the same thing first he got hte time 10.546 and then i broke it. Right now i m on my 62 day and my best drag racging tiime is 7.25secs with this really awsome car. guess the car and try to break my record or ur friends.
TIp: when u start racing buy an evo and race and sell some cars so u have about $140,000 then buy a Z06 and upgrade it before u race. it is better if u can handle it manually. when u drive car manually u will learn some tips. If u r not able to find the tip u can go to cheatcodes and find my review and get the few tip.
good luck kick ur friends ass.

not too bad........took a while to earn $$, but then it went well |
| J.P. from Anchorage, Alaska, USA says (20/Apr/2003): |
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this game. I love racing games, and used to spend hours playing the gran tourismo series on ps1 &2. At first I thought it was just a knock-off of that series, but after playing it for a while, I saw that it was actually a pretty good game, just a little different than I was used to. After I started making some cash (drag racing over and over for hours) and could afford the good parts, 1st place finishes came one after another. Had some trouble with the SS license, but after that I won the level 6 (final) race with no trouble at all......Caterham 500...... Now though the "second season" is kicking my butt. Somehow, every other car I run against can run like 9:20 1/4 miles....hmmmm, that would be a pretty quick fiat....not very realistic. It seems they just made every car I was to compete against just as fast as my fastest car...cheap way out dudes. Other than that though, I really enjoyed this game and feel it was free time well-spent.

sweet game |
| ed krazy from san diego, usa says (25/Jul/2003): |
this game is the best evr. i am a racing game lover and it was hard to find a game that was challenging yet adventursome. i love that u can buy parts to the car but it wuld b better if u wuld be able 2 ad details to the outside like a spoiler and a body kit. this game smokes project gotham. that game is the type u just want 2 throw out of the window cause u can only get the cars but not beef them up. the graphics in sgt rocks. i mean i just got a big screen and it feels like i am in the game. the only thing i dislike is cuz i cant get thet freaken viper. anybody who has an xbox and is looking 4 a car game, this is it. if anybody knows how 2 get the viper, email me. i just cant wait 4 the new one 2 come out. i presonally think that the 2002 lotus esprit is the best car that is easily available. customized, i got it 2 go a quarter of a mile in 10. 292 sec. it has 562 hp.
i cant tell u enouph about how much i love this game. i have been in almost 300 races. i g2g. talk 2 u later.

#1 racing game ever!!! |
| Francisco from Albuquerque U.S.A, says (26/Jul/2003): |
This game is awsome. However there is a couple things i would like to see if they were to add to this game. The first would be new tracks such as Laguna Seca, Daytona, Coute de Azure, and so on. I think that they should have also added more options for the engine upgrades, such as: bore and stroke increases, computer chips (were applicable), and more fine tuning of the suspension and the brake balance. The last thing I think they could have added were more options on the American and European car choose, such as the Ford Focus and eEscort, Chevy Cavalier, Porsche 911 and Gt1, Ferrari...any of them, Lamborghini Diablo Countasch and the Vt, McLaren F1, Toyota Gt1, Hemi Cuda, Saleen S7, and some trucks for more of an option in the car selection. The last thing they should have also added was more lifelike damage, such as when you rearend somebody that your downforce and stearing became affected. Howerver this game is still the greatest game to ever come out.

sweet but not the best |
| SATAN from Glendale Heights, IL says (2/Jan/2003): |
Sega GT 2002 is a very sweet game with the damage, traction control, setting your own price for selling cars, and the game itself rocks. I really like it don't get me wrong, but money in Sega GT 2002 is hard to come across because when you start you only make 4,000 a race, minus what gets taken away to pay for the cars damage. Then you get liscense and you earn more money, but then the competition becomes alot tougher and faster. competition is good but to keep up with them you have to spend every dollar you make on speed parts not suspension, brakes, or tires. I've had Gran Turismo games since their debut and they have caused my love for racing simulation games not crappy nascar games ( although i do like NASCAR racing ), but Sega GT is a great game. everyone says its a good game because it was free, thats a dumb thing to say, If a game is truly good you'll pay for it. so I give it an eight.

Good Game, but no Gran Tourismo |
| Crash from Holland, Michigan, USA says (30/Mar/2003): |
I have been pretty dissapointed in XBox over PS since I picked up my box, but this is pretty rediculous. The graphics are comparable to GT2, far below GT3, there are fewer cars, fewer upgrades, and, in comparison, almost no customization(i.e. downforce, custom gearing, toe, damper, rebound, sway, etc.) With as few cars as Sega GT offers, you would think they could get the ones they have right: Viper GTSR as a mid-engined car without a turbo upgrade? I'm insulted. The single class event is a joke, considering the best cars in the game are concept vehicles, and therefore one-of-a-kind. Also missing is any form of final race mods, making it a joke to call this a GT game. Sega Club Racer would be much more accurate. The drag race feature is something that GT sorely lacked, but I'd gladly trade it for more than 1 rally-type track. Bottom-line: I'll stick with Sony for realistic racing games.

I haven't got the slightest clue about cars so give me some help |
| kinky from Moon says (8/Jan/2003): |
I haven't got the slightest clue about cars and haven't taken a liking to racing games for GT1 pissed me off so much. I also don't have a clue what most of you guys a talking about. I got this game for free as well and started off doing the chron. mode. I used the Celica 3000gt and found it was a pretty easy car to drive. I then started on the gt mode and to my surprise the celica was only 8000 bucks. I bought it and raced a few races. I unlocked the Jag (can't remember it's name) and used that to drag. From there I've picked up a few free cars from the official races. The situation I'm in now is that I've just scraped through the B licence test and I haven't got a competitive car in any of the races. Help boys!
P.S because the game was a freebie, I think the designers of this game had my type in mind, that's probably the reason why you full on gamers and racers think it's so easy.

This game is the best racing game ever |
| A gamer from Nova scotia, Canada says (3/Jan/2003): |
Like alot of you i got an xbox for christmas. When i first started to play the game i was amazed at the reality of the handling of the cars(i have been racing cars since i was 16 and i know a thing or two about cars) I do however like the licensing system in gt3 better although it does take a bit longer and is a great degree more difficult. But in handling as i said before the sega gt cars are more realistic then that of the cars in gt3. The game is shorter than gt3 but that is better than playing for hours not ever getting anywhere. The thing that makes this game soooooo much better than every other racing game out there is the fact that it was free i dunno about you guys but that clinched it for me. All you people that are saying this game sucks and gt3 is better have obviosly never raced your cars on tracks because your gt3 handling is nothing like a real cars.
|
pretty good |
| Ben Moore-Coll from Charrlottesville, USA says (6/Jun/2003): |
The license tests were WAY too hard, but other that that it is a great game. I have all but one license, the SS, and feel that that license is IMMPOSSIBLE. There need to be more cars. I've played grand turismo 3 a-spec on PS2 and like that more because of the abundance of cars(come on no Ferraris, lambrogihnis, saleens, porsches!!). The gameplay is great, its very easy to get around in. The graphics are really good but there needs to be exterior damage or you don't get charged for it. I got my
X-Box a while ago and still play the game alot. The SS license is too hard, you either need more time or can use any cars. If anyone has beaten it please e-mail me, I would like to congradulate you. I don't know which came first, GT 2002, or Grand Turismo 3, but one is defently a copy of the other. Over all a great game well worth the nine stars I gave it.

Its a good racing Sim but gets boring! |
| Steve Camilleri from Melbourne, Australia says (17/Sep/2003): |
Sega if your gonna make a racing game do iot properly. Sega GT is a really good game and has potential but They have left out some really valuable stuff. One being Exterior modifications most people do up there cars for looks cause they dun noe a thing bout engines, I gotta admit the engine upgrades in Sega Gt 2002 is pretty good i like how u can make a muscle car Turbo! for some serious grunt. Another good thing is the fact that you can take some seriously cool looking photos and hang them up in your garage would have been better if you could tkae more than 20 but. Another Con about GT would be that you cant see Exterior damadge i mean seriously wen u plow inmto a barrier at 120 mph u would think that you would get a lil scratch. If things like this were included i think XBOX would be in for a best seller.
and another thing MORE CARS!!!!!!

this game rocks! |
| A gamer from USA says (19/Jun/2003): |
sega gt 2002 is the best racing game ive ever played! it has awsome graphics and great detail when it comes to the car specs. i beat the game after fighting with the SS license test but be assured that it can be done! the reason why i gave it just a 9 is b/c i think that it could have been better in that it doesnt show damage to the car and in that when u hit a wall at 150 mph all udo is bounce.... but of all the race games ive ever played this is by far the BEST! my favorite cars include the caterham 500, the lotus exige, and the ford GT concept! my best drag time is 8.574 with the GT and nitros.... i dont knw how they get the caterham to pull a 8.500 in the competions though! ive fully modified mine and it still wont get below a friggin 9.000!!! well i love this game and if they come out with a second i should b the best ever!!!
|
One of the best Ive ever played!! |
| A gamer says (28/Sep/2002): |
This game is awesome at first. It gets you right into all of the action in almost no time at all. Loading time is ok, although it loads too often. The carreer mode is awesome, but is kind of hard to finish, the competition gets fiercer every race. The best is to always have a bad car in your garage, like a Toyota Supra, but have it suped up for the drag races, jap cars are THE best for those. It takes forever to do most of the things, but eventually, youll get it done. The graphics are awesome. I could tell the difference between the cars in their pics before the race even starts. The engine sounds are almost perfect, i could even hear the clutch when i was driving! and the replay value is ok, though, you cant use much cars in multiplayer. this is definately one of the better classes of racing games.

The Best Racer I've Seen Yet |
| Rich from Texas,USA says (16/Nov/2003): |
Sega GT 2002 is ridiculous in the best way. The game boasts superb graphic detail and unlimited replay value. It's a seemingly never ending game, it just keeps going and going no matter how much you complete. The only real flaw is the lack of tracks, they need more of them, as I see most agree with me. I noticed an individual spoke of having the Corvette Z06 fully tuned and saying it beats the Ford GT Concept. I beg to differ my friends..my main vehicle is the Ford GT Concept and it is fully tuned, and it beats the Z06 though I will say it's fairly close. But HP and torque wise the Concept kills the Z06. I have a good 750HP and something around 714ft-lbs of torque in mine. But anyhows the game totally rocks. It's wicked in all its entirety and I think Sony can take a hike, heh. Rock on Sega!

Ford GT Concept |
| Karl from dublin., Ireland says (5/Feb/2003): |
You can buy this car quite early on in the game. It is expensive and you will probably have to sell a car to buy it. $150.000 i think. But it is worth it. It is definetly the fastest car in the game. mine is up to about 820hp and goes like hell i have fineshed the game with this car and I have got all of the upgrades (lightweight, turbosa, tyres the whole shootin match. Forgat the charger I have it and it does not compare. The closes I have got is the Ford GT40 whic i have jammed up 1012hp - sounds great but its just too damn heavy - as soon as you come to a corner you have to almost stop just to get around it. I think that the next best car is the Caterham R500R jam this sucker up and watch it go - it weighs almost nothing and and it has fantastic accelleration but not a ghood top speed
|
sega gt beats gran turismo |
| justin from lousisiana says (11/Dec/2002): |
this game is great it has all modifications you need graphics and racing style and who ever was complaning about the speed has a problem its loading time is a minumum compared to most games and from what i remember gt3 didnt load as fast as segagt .the cars look like they go the same speed as if you where watching it on t.v. its not the segas falt yall are stuck on high paced games like need for speed the game was made for realism not stupid crap . the only problem with this game is the lack of cars witch is made up with the use of quality cars not quantity.
sega has made many high performance games than you give them credit for .i dont see any one in here makin a big budget game that everyone want so why are you complaing about a game they dont force you too buy.
|
Ok, but kinda painstakingly boring |
| Mooose from Charleston, SC, USA says (14/Dec/2002): |
This game is an all-around good game, but it lacks a certain umph that most racing games have. The handling of the beginning cars could use alot of adjustments. When going around corners you are forced to almost stop your car completely. The race tracks are practically the same throughout the entire game. Your choices for cars are very limited in their top speeds. After getting the Ford car in the beginning of the game, the cars there after increase in top speed by about 1 mph. The graphics are fare, but I have seen better. The graphics of the cars are phenomenal where as the course's graphics don't own up to the rest of the graphics. I gane this game a rating of 6 out of ten because of the bad playability. It is a fun game until a while after you've played it.

And the First Place Loser is Sega GT2002 |
| A gamer from NSW, Australia says (25/Jan/2003): |
I got this game from the massive entertainment pack and it was the first game i played, mainly becos of i thought to myself if this is anything like Gran Turismo3 or better i can't wait to play it. I started the story mode bought myself a puegeot and started racing. The first thing i noticed was that the background graphics were something you'd expect a 4 year old to draw and you couldn't see the damage that had been done to your car. The second thing i noticed was that real life physics were none existant; The PS2 obviously CopyRighted it, so dont even bother sliding. You know what im just gonna go on to the positive points, if there were any. Oh well this game will be fun for another five minutes and then ill probly use it for a frisby.
|
come now, good, but not GT3 |
| The Ronnerman says (12/Dec/2002): |
Actually, "Justin", they DO force you to buy it. I got the Xbox bundle and have this game by default. It's NOT bad at all, very decent game, but anyone who says it's better than GT3 must have not ever played it, or hates it cause they don't like PS2. I challenge anyone to watch GT3 replays and THEN say this game is more realistic. It IS good, but GT3 is better for alot of reasons that are not arguable. For the box, this is the best racing sim, overall, Gran Turismo takes the mantle. Again, I'm not biased, I own all 3 consoles (game cube, ps2, xbox) and think xbox is a fantastic system, but please give credit where credit's due. GT3 is better.
Anyone tired of GT3 or doesn't have a PS2, pick up Sega GT 2002, it's worth the bean-age.

Better Than Life........................................ |
| Muiraldo from Birkenhead England says (28/Aug/2003): |
My daughter bought an X-box and she hates racing games. It's a while since I've played any but I do like them. So I can't compare GT 2002 with anything else, but why worry? I loved it.
Agree that there should be an option to switch off the replays. You can try a car out in a race, realise that you can't keep up, cancel the race after 10 seconds and still get offered a replay!!
The only time a replay would be really useful is when you're taking the licence tests. But you don't get one then!
But that's a minor worry.
But all I really wanted to say was this: The SS licence can be done in AT. I struggled long and hard with it and wondered if MT was the only way to do it. So if you're wondering, yes it can be done in AT.

This game pretty much rocks. |
| Che from Pennsylvania says (11/Feb/2003): |
Let me tell you.. i thought that this game was pretty cool. I wish you had a little more options when buying your first car, but my FIAT Punto Abarth came out nicely. Won the charger and some other cars with that thing. I to am having a tough time with the second license test. My cars are the Toyota Supra RZ Twin Turbo. The car is at 438 horsepower, isnt fully loaded, and it kicks the $#< remove me > at ! out of everyone else. i go through cars like nothing. I sold the charger, chavelle, Fiat and a buinch of others. The Mustang GT was fun but now am trying to sell it. no one wants it. I now have the Supra and the Corvette.....my recent aquisation. I had the Exerge i think it is from lotus, but am looking foward to the other mustangs and fords.
