This game is really tight, I don't know what you are all thinking, but this game is the BEST racing game ever created. I don't know what you're thinking, in saying that it is lame to hop up your car, that is the best features. OH yeah! and the game play is really good, the controls, are great, and the graphics are awesome. The only reason that it got a 9 was because the Chevelle sounds like an Inline-4 instead of a V8.

First of all the damage shouldn't be a matter because if you could race, You wouldn't hit the goddamn walls, Second of all, you say the games too hard untill money starts coming in?, that is because you suck at racing and rely on speed more than skill, and third of all, props to all those who saw this game for what it really is, a classic.

I dont know,but there pathetic attemps to make a worthy driveing games just dont cut it. Sega GT 2002,the follow up to that rather rubbish Dreamcast game, Sega GT,is just another medicore racer which trys to be up there with the big racing games, but just falls short. You need to upgrade your car in this game alot, and if you dont, you will loose, garenteed. It dosent matter how much skill you have or how many racing games you played,if you dont upgrade that car, you'll loose. I dont always feel like upgradeing a car in a game, either. But this game almost forces you to. The graphics arent all that impresive, either. Project Gotham Racing has much better graphics,and it came out a few months before this horrible mess of a game. The cars just dont look really appealing, either, dispite some of the licences. This game is just pretty damn boring. I mean even if you do upgrade your freaking car its just boring to play. It trys to be a sim and an arcade racer, but you cant just do that.You have to pick one way or the other.For these reasons alone, I feel you shouldent buy this game or rent it. Sega GT 2002 is the worst racing game on Xbox. Get Project Gotham Racing instead.
This is the most realistic racing game there is. You have to tune your car up because thats what happens in real life, dip$#< remove me > at !. You obviously dont know a good racing game when you see one. If you dont like it, FINE, but dont go 'round tellin everybody who actually likes the game that it was naff

I believe this game could have been much better than it is, but still has much potential. I must say that the graphics are fabolous but the controls are kind of sticky and needs much needed work. It could be better if so many cars weren't for sell. I must say that the game would be even more exciting if you could be your own car from the ground up. Then more and more people would have this game and not selling or throwing it away. Otherwise, the game has his own catergory.

i think the game is a great game because of the graphics, it is much better than gran turismo 3 that game is very unrealistic. i like how you can overhaul the parts and get damage during the races. Gran turismo 3 has no engine damage, no damage during races, i mean come on you can hit a wall at 250 mph and have no damage! pleasw i mean the cars doesn't even sound real in Gran Turismo 3 and the cars don't even look very real!

This game sucks. It has great potential, but doesn't deliver. Crappy engine sounds, not enough sliding, toggle switch-like button reaction... where do I stop!!!! Don't get me wrong, it's not the worst, but it's nothing when compared to GT3. (By the way, I have every platform so I'm not just biased towards PS2.)
Oh, and realism?? Don't get me started!!! There's a Stingray Vette with over 458 horsepower and it barely spins the tires during a race!! OH, that's realistic! I'd rather play golf.
With games like this, it's no wonder the XBOX is second fiddle. However, if your looking for the best XBOX game ever, one word... HALO.

i recently finished sega gt 2002 for my 2nd time, i thought it's a brillant game BUT there is nothing else to do except break my 8.2 second record on the drag with my Z20. heres what i thought about the game
PROS
Awesome graphics the best racing game ive played on PC PS2 N64 and XBOX, i think that there is no mip mapping like on some of the PS1 and PS2 games.
The cars are actually real cars, and the properties are actually life like, that really impressed me espessially the difference handling between the Caspita, and the Stingray. the game has a long life span (i've practually being playing this every day since chrismas), which is very important. the fun factor i rate is about 8.5-9 it's just a damn good game
Cons
this isnt sorta of a con but after you beat the game you cant do anything else, except drag someesle in with you and kick thewm in multiplayer.
You can only go get all the cars or get all the parts not both (so you do two different games). the multiplayer tracks are two hard to open (ive got all the norms, and also FW2 and the ring stage), plaese reply back to me on the address below or above where ever they put it. It's basically a copy of grand tourismo 1, 2, 3, 4. that's about all the cons.
but this game is a brillant game, i give it 8.5/10 and try and beat my time of 8.237 seconds on the drag with the corvette Z20
and another piece of advice, the gt concept is not required to finish the game, i used the Z20 and the NSX Type R 02.

Great game. I'd say the second best game ever. First is obviosly Halo:Combat Evolved. The graphics are great and everything is 100% reallistic. Buy it if u have a chance. I haven't beat it. If you have any tips for me please contact me through e-mail. If you want tips do the same.

Great game, too difficult until you get into it and start getting money. You need to start a few times with different cars before really getting far. once into the gam money starts rolling in from selling cars and not winning races.
If you want a game that has good graphics and is more realistic than fun (car lover's only) then this game is for you.

I have completed all the official races and the license tests. i reccomend that you don't take a license test until you have a lot of money because once you take a test the races become a lot harder. i think that this game is one of the best games that i have played because the graphics are so neat

I think that sega gt 2002 is a very good game. the graphics are impecable except when it comes to visible car damage. some say that it is too hard to get money but after a while you win a car called the Tipo Stradle 24/3 or something like that and i sold mine for well over half a million dollars. and the ford gt concept is the best car in the game.....

As far as the graphics go, the game smokes. But when it comes to the physics designed to simulate "racing" as it should be, they really over shot. For one, a car takes damage yes this is true, but your car turns to nothing but a lumbering station wagon within two races, making it almost impossible to really make this game what I would call fun. I have little time unfortunatly, and I have not found my addiction here. It all comes down to having more patience than should be neccesary for a game, which generaly instiles joy, not madness. Good thing I got this game for free, heheheeehe.

I think that Sega GT2002 is half good half crap first the graphics are quite good but when you come by buying your car yu don't get that much money so you get to buy the crap cars aand slow and even if you come 1st, 2nd or 3rd you still have to pay the damn damage you caused to your car especially when it's sensitive!

This game has great grafics, although you can't see the damage done to your car (which really bums).Yes, the backround looks bad, but who pays much atention to it? The songs in this game !RULE! This game is long and hard. I recomend this game to people. Like I mentioned before, what makes the game worse is the dificulty: The licence tests drive me CRAZY!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this game. I love racing games, and used to spend hours playing the gran tourismo series on ps1 &2. At first I thought it was just a knock-off of that series, but after playing it for a while, I saw that it was actually a pretty good game, just a little different than I was used to. After I started making some cash (drag racing over and over for hours) and could afford the good parts, 1st place finishes came one after another. Had some trouble with the SS license, but after that I won the level 6 (final) race with no trouble at all......Caterham 500...... Now though the "second season" is kicking my butt. Somehow, every other car I run against can run like 9:20 1/4 miles....hmmmm, that would be a pretty quick fiat....not very realistic. It seems they just made every car I was to compete against just as fast as my fastest car...cheap way out dudes. Other than that though, I really enjoyed this game and feel it was free time well-spent.

sega gt 2002 is so realistic that i think it is the best. but there is two things i hate about it... the engine wears down and your car gets slower and the used parts you buy break while racing and it make your car slower. i bought a used muffler and air cleaner and i was racing in first place when i hit a wall, i heard a pop and then smoke started to come out from under my car.

I really enjoyed Sega GT. It was very realistic but there was no visible damage and the loading time is awful. But I still got hooked on the game and I started playing for hours. Soon I noticed I've been playing the game for over 300 hours! Overall I think the game is great and I think people should stop thinking Grand Trismo 3 is so great and try out Sega GT 2002.

Best Race Game Ever! A little hard, but so's life. It could have used more cars, and Turbo only as a forced indution option? What about superchargers? 99% of Camero owners would rather do Supers than Turbos, but still great. Awesome game. What about nitrous? Or other tuner options? Why not Turbos, AND light weight high flow heads? And who the hell wants to mod a Pujo? And the NSX is a crappy car, and in that sense the game is realistic.

i thought this game was aweosme and that the cars rule. I especially enjoyed gettin the ford gt 90 its great. The only things that kinda made me mad was when the licences. i got them all but they were sorta difficult near the end on the s and ss ones otherwise they were pretty easy. Its a great game and i hope that someday they come out with 2003 it would be awesome.
