SWWWWWEEEEEEEET

Tyler from Medicine Hat, Canada says (4/Jan/2003):
I have Project Gotham racing, and need for speed HP2.....and i got this game for free, and although the other 2 games have more exotic cars, this game is still my favorite! has realistic handling, sounds, everything! all i wanted was a 3000gt or a Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo....thats it....but even without them its a wicked game!

good game14575

kris from rd says (3/Jan/2003):
This is an awesome game the physics are life like and each car handles diffrently. the only thing i dislike about this game is the choice of cars sucks and when you put too much horsepower into a car it just makes it go slower and the NOS doesnt even work like it should. a toyota supra twin turbo with 600 horsepower can go a hell of alot faster than 160mph. this game would also be better if it had more tracks theres only like 5 diffrent tracks in the entire game there just done backwards or a little part is taken out. also why the hell is the charger so slow i maxed it out with everything and its sucks ass in real life it would probably go twice as fast and another thing i noticed is the transmissions are all messed up the toyota supra i a 6 speed not a 5 and the mitsubishi lancer evo is a 6 not a 5. another thing that would make this game better would be noticable damage not a little meter that sias how much damage its stupid a real car would have engine problems and stuff the only thing i had wrong is a turbo broke and it didnt even make my car slower. and for those of you that think getting the licences are hard you suck at this game i beat the whole game first day i got it i came first in every race first try and got all licences firt try. but overall this game has awsome physic detail and its gameplay is good. anyone who wants to play the best racing game thats exactly like a real car buy colin mcrae rally 1 or 2 i say its the best racing game yet.

How can anyone say this game is Crap14594

Danny from Birmingham, England says (3/Jan/2003):
This is a quality game, and anyone who thinks otherwise does not have a clue. I've just spent a few minutes looking through the reviews below and cannot believe some of the things I've read. Someone saying they cant get their top speed above 202kph, not being able to do the drag in less than 11seconds??? I've only been playing the game for 6hrs and ive already had the lotus Esprite (11.5 secs drag top speed 220+) Ford GT390 Concept (9.6secs drag Top speed 240+) The ford Drag time was WITHOUT close ratio gears or Boost turned up to the max and its top speed was without High speed gearbox. For people moaning about having to come to a stand still before taking corners try adding racing tires (and keeping them maintained) and setting your racing suspension to in between medium and hard. For easy money when putting a car up for sale treble the inintial price and then bring it down sequentially every 1-2 race days, ie...I bought the Ford GT390 for 150,000 didn't do anything to it and put it up for sale straight away for 249,950 after a couple of days I had sold it for 229,000, a profit of 79000, and you can do that over and over again. I also won the Merc SL and sold it for 75,000.

Mustang Glitch14613

Rigni from Los Angeles California African 3rd nation says (3/Jan/2003):
How come the Mustang GT (the new one) is only a 4 speed manual. They are 5 spd. It seems like a major flaw that the car is so incorrect which means it does not simulate the real cars performance.

This game is the best racing game ever14657

A gamer from Nova scotia, Canada says (3/Jan/2003):
Like alot of you i got an xbox for christmas. When i first started to play the game i was amazed at the reality of the handling of the cars(i have been racing cars since i was 16 and i know a thing or two about cars) I do however like the licensing system in gt3 better although it does take a bit longer and is a great degree more difficult. But in handling as i said before the sega gt cars are more realistic then that of the cars in gt3. The game is shorter than gt3 but that is better than playing for hours not ever getting anywhere. The thing that makes this game soooooo much better than every other racing game out there is the fact that it was free i dunno about you guys but that clinched it for me. All you people that are saying this game sucks and gt3 is better have obviosly never raced your cars on tracks because your gt3 handling is nothing like a real cars.

Great game14666

A gamer from Paris,USA says (3/Jan/2003):
I just got the game over Christmas.Of couse I had to play it for the first week none stop.I loved it.The graphics in the game are pretty good but, satifactory. The detail of the car was great in the garage down to the reflection of the fans on the roof.So over all the graphics get a 8/10 from me.The sounds of the game are excellent with suround sound. The sound changed from each side when a car would pass.So the sound is GREAT 9/10.The game play is pretty good. You can only do so much.So gameplay is about a 6/10.Lifespan isnt the best. Some people seem to get tired of doing the same thing over and over.So a 5/10 from me.The originality is kind of like a repeat of Grand Turismo 3 for PS2.But the cars arnt as good. But I like the extra goods you can buy for your shop. And also the replay and ghost car video modes you can buy is great. So origiginality is a 7/10 from me.I my self think they should have a $#< remove me > at !pit veiw for games like that. They seem more realistic that way.So over it is a good game, from me it gets a 8/10.If you have an X-Box you should get this game.
This is the reveiw from a kid though so you might think different.Im only 14,but my dad seems to like the game.So good areveiw alaround.

Awesome game, quick money.14454

Lee from Canada says (2/Jan/2003):
This is truely a great game. Anyone who is struggling (as I was earlier tonight!), in the second Official Race, if you come in first you win the Cosmo. Right away I put it up for sale at $35,000 and in 2 or 3 game days it sold. Try going higher, see whats happens. Good Luck

Acceptable14469

David from Champaign IL says (2/Jan/2003):
I have had this game since the first week it hit stores. I mainly bought it because of all the hype that it was the gran-daddy of all racing games. What an idiot i was. I was very displeased with the limited selection of tracks, tunable items other than the engine, and most of all 4 players! I think this game is very well polished with par graphics (not even close to splinter cell graphics), and a varied amount of cars and manfacturers. It goes downhill after that, the cars and manufacturers are varied but their very unrealistic, unlike you others a camaro can indeed run a 12 second 1/4 mile now it may not be a 4th gen but a heavier 67' camaro with a little nitrous (not NOS you import bitches!) and for the supra who gives a #uck why should sega even bother releasing it into america if its not all AMERICAN CARS?! sega should have put MUSCLE CARS (new and old) on the game period, it would have sold alot better. Maybe its just me but i don't see any 502 engines in this game either, whats up with racing games and gay a$$ rice burners, and 4 bangers????

Supra Twin Turbo Rocks14475

A gamer from michigan,USA says (2/Jan/2003):
I just got xbox for christmas and this game of course came free with it. I LOVE this game because naturally I am good at it. I started off with a Toyota Celica 1600gt and started getting money to the point of where I bought a turbo then intercoller and bigger turbine. After that I turned boost to full and hit the drags where I beat the Camaro z28 without Nitrous.I won the rally car, and the charger. I saw that the charger had TOOOO much power to be good in a race and sold it for 30,000 along with teh rally car for 17,000. I had done a few more races and got the b license so decided to buy a new car with 76,000. I bout the supra twin turbo and loaded this baby up to 491 hp and its still 1400 lbs. but I am killing everyone in the drags with low 11's. I won the chevelle and let me tell you it is a $#< remove me > at !ty ass car. I sold it and bout weight reduction. I think that I am stuck with my supra now because IMHO it has too much power for its own good. I guess a racing suspension will help fix the prob. but till then ill juts have to drag. I think the only thing wrong with the game is that you cant pick a lot of cars in the quick battle and where the hell is the ford focus when u want one. Same with the 3000gt or the dodge stealth. I alos dont like the very limited number of tracks. All-in-all for a free game tis great. If you guys are into the racing scene go to kazaa and search for the Mischief 3000[gumball rally]1 and 2

It's an accurate racing simulator, but above all, it's FREE! 4 some14529

Jerry from West Palm Beach, FLA!!!!! says (2/Jan/2003):
  Pros:
Pretty good graphics, enuff "modes" to keep u bizzy 4 awhile, the upgrades really make u feel like the owner of the whip(CAR), pretty nice cars(I especially like the concept cars),you could add things to ur garage, hang pictures of ur whips, and a custom soundtrack!

Cons:
The game really takes foreva,(i like to drive reckless so i take turns bad, that usually cost me tha game), too much loading between everything!, the constant replays, limited cars(compared to GT3) and limited levels(compared to all racing games)

Project Gotham Racing + Sega GT 2002= One fuc#in awesome game!!!

sweet but not the best14531

SATAN from Glendale Heights, IL says (2/Jan/2003):
Sega GT 2002 is a very sweet game with the damage, traction control, setting your own price for selling cars, and the game itself rocks. I really like it don't get me wrong, but money in Sega GT 2002 is hard to come across because when you start you only make 4,000 a race, minus what gets taken away to pay for the cars damage. Then you get liscense and you earn more money, but then the competition becomes alot tougher and faster. competition is good but to keep up with them you have to spend every dollar you make on speed parts not suspension, brakes, or tires. I've had Gran Turismo games since their debut and they have caused my love for racing simulation games not crappy nascar games ( although i do like NASCAR racing ), but Sega GT is a great game. everyone says its a good game because it was free, thats a dumb thing to say, If a game is truly good you'll pay for it. so I give it an eight.

Sup everyone14566

A gamer says (1/Jan/2003):
NE1 ever played MCO? (Motor City Online) I like Sega Gt 2002, i think its better than GT3, except for all the ricers in the game but my Charger makes quick work of them:) this is the first game i've played with a 68 Charger in it, i like the new Viper too, some of the specs of both cars are a little of but i can overlook that

Not Bad14413

Nick from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada says (1/Jan/2003):
The cars in this game look fantastic, although it would have been better to see more of a variety of cars. The game was relatively easy to beat, it took me about 10hours to complete it. It was fun to play at the beginning but started to get boring really quicky. I gave this game a 7/10 just because of its realism interms of graphics and gameplay.

A pretty well done game !!14230

Unknown from USA says (31/Dec/2002):
This game is pretty well done as i said in my summary . The graphics are very well done . The replays are annoying after a while because u have to keep pressing start and exiting the replay . Gran Turismo and this game are pretty much alike , but I like this game alot more because u can upgrade the cars a whole heck of alot more . I don't know what some of you people are talking about when you say this game is the most horrible game for Xbox . This is a pretty well done game . It goes into a very great much of details . For , example : You can tune yor car , upgrade it , choose the color , you can sell it , and you can even take pictures to hang in your garage ! Yes , this game does get boring after a while , but if u actually have a life and don't spend all your time playing video games it can be pretty fun !!!! LOL go read a book or do something reproductive for once ! does that sound familiar ?? Well I give it a 9 out out of ten stars for its great graphics , very well done gameplay , and overall fun factor as it says in the review guidelines . The only down side to this game is the game killers ! Like for example : License B and License A they are both considered game killers . (Game killers - Levels , glitches , etc . that stop u from completing the objective or in this case win the race or license . )

Sega GT is good, but GT3 A-Spec still rules the road14303

F1Lover from Ft. Worth, TX, USA says (31/Dec/2002):
As an adult gamer, and one that [just a couple of years ago] was mostly into RPG's, I am astounded with today's racing/driving sims. A friend had me hooked instantly with Sony's first release of Gran Turismo, and I rushed out immediately and purchased it for myself, followed of course by GT2. Then times got hard, and I never got to purchase Sony's new platform, so I was stuck in the land of the dinosaurs, so to speak. When my friend purchased his new PS2, along with GT3, I was over there playing almost every night, as we were trying to beat the game WITHOUT cheat codes. Lemme tell ya, it was NOT easy!! We finally gave in, and loaded as little cheats as possible, once we had the game about 92% complete, and just could not get any further.
FINALLY! I just got an XBox for christmas, and it came with the Sega GT 2002. This game has a LOT of what I have always wished the Sony guys would add into their already superb racing sim. For instance, the fact that you can take photos of your car in a replay, and hang them in the garage is pretty cool, and the fact that this game/platform will support a user-created music playlist is something I would like to see in the PS2's future. I like the fact that damage occurs if you drive recklessly (although too bad it's not visible), and you have to keep your car in tune, and the tires replaced if you expect your car to perform at its peak. When I first picked up the controller, I thought the gameplay was very similar in nature to GT3, in the way that the driving physics acted, so I had relatively little challenge in the first few series of races. And those who have touted the Peugeot 206 are RIGHT!! Rage Racer/Ridge Racer/Need for Speed fans: you're in for a surprise, in the fact that you actually have to DRIVE the car, and learn how to brake, hit your apexes in the corners correctly, and how NOT to slide the car all over the place, with tires spinning. I will say this: anyone who has mastered the techinques required to be successful in the Gran Turismo saga will probably find this game a little "underwhelming", but it is still fun to play, nevertheless. And probably my biggest sell for GT3 A-Spec is......F1 cars! It doesn't get any better than that, especially when you can win the car that the legendary Ayrton Senna ran his last race in, before he was killed in it. (How's that for historic?) Has anyone found a formula car in Sega GT yet???

SWEET14086

powder8000 from California, USA says (30/Dec/2002):
I got my Xbox with the game for Christmas. This is one of the best racing games I've played. It seems to me the cars handle like real cars. You don't have to stop completely on corners. Just slide into them while breaking. As you start to slide into a wall give it gas. The car never hits the wall (that is if you started sliding right as you enter the turn. Haven't been able to do it on the hair pin turns yet. All I can say is this game is great.

Sorry Ashley13964

Chris from Maryland says (29/Dec/2002):
I dont know what you think you know about cars but your numbers are a little off....
"Some of you have no clue about cars and HP....a supra can make 750 HP and run 12 secs in the quarter, and a Camaro can make 300 HP and run 12 secs in the quarter...reason being...the camaro has 8 cylinders and the supra has 4 and twin turbos...so wouldnt you think 4 would have to work twice as hard? Of course, ive been doing this all my life....so its accurate....a good game...fun to play.....do some research before you bash something...just makes you look stupid :)"
ok where do i start... well first off the supra does not have 4 cylinders... all supras naturally aspirated or twin turbo have an inline 6 cylinder engine. A stock camaro with 300 hp is gonna be lucky to run 14-15 secs on street tires... and a supra with 750 hp with a good driver should easily run 10-11 sec runs and with drag radials possibly 9 secs...the only thing that a camaro has got goin for it is the fact that it weighs about 400 lbs less than a supra (stock). I'm not sure about the kind of camaro that you are talkin bout but regardless nothing short of a miracle of god is gonna make a stock camaro with 300 hp in a 3000lb car run 12 secs 1/4 times.. sorry babe if your gonna try to act like you know what your talkin bout at least use correct numbers and times. My numbers may not be the most accurate on the camaro...seeing that I'm a Supra enthusiast and I dont like domestics but If your gonna talk smack about my car then get the numbers on it right first.

GT2002 vs GT 3?13893

Chris from LA Cali says (28/Dec/2002):
I'm an avid player of both games, and I have to admit. I got this game not thinking it was going to be good at all. I mean seriously, who gets a good game for free right? I was pleasantly surprised when I started up my system and found the game to be much like Gran Turismo. I'll admit, gran turismo does have more interaction with your car as well as more advanced customization, however, there are some reality issues with the cars. First and foremost, the VR4, RX7, and the Toyota Supra. These are cars with turbos already equiped. So it makes sense that you shouldn't be able to buy a turbo and strap it on without removing the old one. Yet in GT3, you can do this. Also, if the turbo already exists, you should be able to tweak. However, in the games, you can't. There are few other little things as well. GT3 is a great game though but now on to GT2002. My exhaust system cracked open! How cool is that?! Of course it sucked having to replace it, but that's what you get when you buy used equip and push it to the limit ;). Now that's realistic. GT3 and GT2002 are great games though, I don't think anyone should knock either of em.

Sega GT 200213794

Ðigital §pirit: from WGC, England says (27/Dec/2002):
Well I got this game free, I had GT3 on PS2 and I think it is a big improvement, the lisence system is shorter and easier, the in game graphics are superb, the choice of cars is very nice and I think Sega have used their "trademark" way of adding in lil extras that u can but which arent necessary but if u'r like me buy anyway.

Hint for Beginners:
Start wiv the peugeot 206 (such a gr8 car), will cost 13,000 exactly, do the 1st official race as its easy, then keep doin drag races, (go into the game options and turn TCS off, this will make u will spin at start but will kick u off at 40....nice) win all round in the drag race and recieve a free car (the dodge charger). Use this car to win drag races more easily until u get the special drag race car which u can then sell for bout 25,000, keep saving, sell ur 206, and use the charger to carry on winnin races until u hav bout 55,000 (its easier than it sounds, dont be put off) use this to buy a "Lotus Exige", this is the daddy of all cars, I still use mine (however mine is 100% tuned), it has amazin acceleration and handlin, u can clock the game wiv this car, tune it up and be amazed.........Good Luck!!!

Ðigital §pirit
