The other day I was playing the level where you have to go through the meat lockers. While playing I sniped a guard with my thermal goggles on. I quickly zoomed out and was about to go on my way when I noticed that the shell that I just fired was glowing red with my thermal goggles on. Then it quickly cooled off with the temperature of the cooler around it. It was probably one of the coolest things I have seen in a video game. Most game developers wouldn't go through the time or effort to worry about the temperature of recently fired bullets.

Splinter cell is one of the best games i've ever played on the xbox and really does deserves to be right up there with Halo in the rating chats. It is a true stealth game which is much better than metal gear solid 2 and it should forever remain as one of the best games ever made. I have been playing Splinter Cell for over four days now and it's just sooo good. I have found that this game is making me lose hours of sleep because i just can't stop playing. The graphics are prefect and i love the way the lighting and shadow effects work. Xbox really pulled out all the stop with this game. So overall Splinter Cell really is a great game and truely deserves that 10 out of 10 rating. I just can't wait for Splinter Cell 2 hopefully.

The other way that you could have done the part with the Cheffs is put the boddies in the room you are going to go into(the one that you need the retinal scanner for) put them all there and go that way that what I did. It worked great too.

Unbelievable graphics and game play. The attention to detail is the key here. In alot of ways like metal gear solid but with much more intricate detail. I can't put it down it's taken presedence over all other electrical devices in my home. My wife will probably kick me out of the house pretty soon. Excellent game flow very precise aiming and the stealth capabilities are amazing. If you enjoy first person shooters this is the one to purchase.(Quickly)

I am a soldier of the United States Army. The game alone has at least ten soldiers watching me play it for hours in the barracks. The realism of the game is by far the best out in the market today. The graphics(flat screen tv) is enough to not only play it but sit down for hours and watch it. The sound( dolby digital )makes you apart of its world. When I play this game it is so realistic, I almost feel as if it is me saving the world. The planet is now a safer place. I am a hard core, < remove me > at #&%! kicking Halo freak. Halo has nothing on Splinter Cell. I used to twiddle my thumbs every day for the day when Halo 2 came out. Now I can only dream of the day wben Splinter Cell 2 comes out. The game is challenging if your are weak. You have to, and must think, like a NSA agent. The best of the best. Playing a Rambo role will get you nowhere. "Winning 115 wars and no defeat is nothing, winning one war and not even fight, is the absolute truth in winning." Can you handle it?

I haven't played many games in my lifetime.. I've always looked down on the guys that sat in front of their tv's all day to play a stupid game. I played and beat MGS in one week, man i was so hooked on that game, then recently i saw a commercial about a new XBOX Game called splinter cell I bought it almost immediatley & have been playing it since... XBOX Has really done it this time, this is the best game i've ever played,

I never reviewed a game before coz im too lazy and cant be bothered BUT this one deserves it!!! Firstly before i got tha game i was already looking up reviews and all about this game b4 i purchase it But when i finnaly got it it blew me away straight away. I reckon this is the best game on the xbox rite now or at tha moment,the graphics are superb like i never seen before, the gamplay kicks it hehehe im up to the chinese embassy stage just killed grinko LOL! tha sound is sooo realistic its like a daym movie and my girlfriend likes me playing while she watches coz she said it looks sooo daym real! anywayz definitely da $$ i spent on this game is worth it. And i hope they make a sequel becoz think about it will be 3 or 4 times better than the original!

Ok, I bought an Xbox simply for the dvd player so I can watch my movies. I used to play Tom Clanceys "Rainbow Six" like a madman so I decided to give Splinter Cell a shot. GOOD LORD i was hooked like a mofo. I'm so stuck on the CIA building, the main hall is impossible to get across and who knows where you need to go from there. Love the night vision, gives the surroundings a whole different perspective. The story line is amazing but brings back memories of 911. I dont play many games at all simply because they all suck or just lack excitement, but Splinter Cell takes the cake for sure. I just got the game 3 days ago and play for about 3hrs a night and im past the cia building, i wish i was beting money with you guys you'd be broke. the game is better than mgs2 but i would like to see more guns, and actually shoot the guy in the head when you have him from behind

There's an element of reality to this game that I've not seen before. Sound plays a big role so anything you do to create noise comes into play. What I like best is the fact that you have to consider all aspects of your envionment and the gadgets you possess before moving forward. Without careful consideration and planning you're just not going to make it. I read that the game is too challenging. Since we're talking a computer game we know there's a solution to each situation, you just have to find it. I guess real life is the similiar, but there's no guarantee a solution exists.
Graphics are pretty sweet but they're not the main factor behind what makes this game so good. It's the total package combined to make this a comprehensive gaming experience.
Thanks to the brains at Ubi Soft for being able to conjure up and deliver this one.
Overall it's a great buy. Have fun!

Tom Clancy's Splinter cell has me hooked. I cant put down the controller like a good book. Anyway last night, it was time to take out the garbage. Funny though, I tip toe along the shadows of the carport, with my new aquired nightvision skills - I sneaked up the driveway like Sam Fisher would. Damn, I am being silly for a thirty something old.

The game is great. Like everyone agrees the graphics are imaculate. The light and shadow being the key thing for the game the designers and producers really put in time and effort into making it look as realistic as you can without it actually being real. The NPC (non-playeble character's) Ai is the best i've seen yet. An example being in a scenario where I turned off the light in the freezer of some kitchen; right before you have to laser-mic the elevator, after throwing a bottle into the freezer one of the cooks came to investigate and asked why the light was off, he then walks under the light itself and starts investigating the light bulb and such. Another great aspect of this game is the Voice of the Character Sam Fisher played by Michael Ironrock or Ironstone im not sure(he was the bad guy in "Free Willy") His tone of voice is a perfect match for the character. Not too scary and not too whimpy. Just enough to portray Sam's light but dark sense of humor.
Overall this is upthere amongst best games for the newer systems.

I got this game about a week ago and ever since ive played it as much as possible above Halo(and im a HALO FREAK!). The game scored a 9.6 with OXM, which is the highest score they have given out so far (and thats above Halo). The graphics are enough alone to go out and buy the game, and I mean it when I say that this game sets the bar for others to fallow. I, myself am about 2/3 of the way done with the game but about the time I beat it Xbox Live™ will have more levels out to download. With the people who are saying "I wish I could shoot more..." go buy a PS2(LOL at all u PS2 fanboys out there). And the reason it doesnt come out for Playstation 2 is really simple i just cant handle it... and the makers of the game basicly said that PS2 is a huge load of S***.

I finished Halo in one sitting (about 8 hours). The Hitman 2 in about 6 hours. I've been playing for about 3 hours a day for the past week or so. I'm not even half way there, I'm still stuck in the CIA building. It as close to being a spy as you're going to get. I'm a firefighter and on our "downtime" (when its slow) we play this and make bets about how fast the person playing is going to get caught or killed. One of the previous reviews that someone wrote said that they found a flaw with the game (when they opened the doors and the alarms went off). The game isn't at fault but the player. The reason why the alarms went off is because you didn't hide the bodies in the shadows like you're suppose to. If you look at the top left corner of the screen it will tell you when you get caught why the alarm is going off. So no flaws with this game. Deffinitely worth the 50 bucks and the wait. I can't believe its not out on the PS2. What a lose!

Wow! After playing the first level of this game, I was hooked like a drug addict.This game requires you to think about your moves. Metal Gear Solid 2 was awesome, but this game puts it to shame. I really can't find a fault in this game(the enemy clipping issues aren't a big deal.Graphics are great, gameplay rocks, and the F2000 is awesome(it's a gun). A note that i would like to add to people that play this game. DON'T QUIT IF YOU GET STUCK. look for paintings to reveal things, rails to climb, and ledges to hang on.

i think splinter cell is a great game, but i think its stupid that you cant take guns of gaurds you incapacitate. how unrealistic, you run out of ammo quick and you cant even take there guns? what are you suposed to do when you run out get killed? therefore that is pretty stupid. besides that i give it a 9 for realism, and difficulty.

I loved metal gear solid for the PS2 then my PS2 broke I went over to a friends house and I played the splinter cell game and I bought an Xbox just for the game its great. . . but time to time it can be difficult. I a stuck in the sewers in the chinnese level any tips for getting past the gards?

All in all splinter cell is a great game but i found it to be extremely short i beat it on hard in 3 days. The lighting was excellent and so was the advanced ai.
