Splinter Cell is one of those games that simply becomes an instant classic. However it's also one of those games that only suits one type of gamer. The game requires patience and timeing and so, gives a real challenge unlike most games like it. SC is demanding yet possible with and extremely high level of realism and interaction. The only faults I can find with it are; The typical story line which is found in most games like SC, and The fact that the audience to whom the game is directed is fairly small compared to other classics such as Halo and Dead or Alive 3, which probably 99% enjoyed. Its graphics and gameplay are unique and in its league SC is lightyears ahead of the rest.

splinter cell (for the ps2) happens to be my and what seems to be every one elses (on this site) , i have over 70 games and splinter cell is most defenatly the best, although it is hard at some points, it is far better detaild than the xbox version (the controler for the ps2 is also 100x easyer to use) if you dont have splinter cell BUY IT NOW! think about it your getting a great game that will be playable for months and its only costing £40.00(very good value for your money) as i am only 11 others (Over 11) may not find this game good but still i really enjoy it, its not at all like grang theft auto vice city its alot more stealth remeber if you

I played the game some more, and i found some more annoying things. you cant pick up dead peoples guns. thats the only thing that really annoys me, but since the rest of the game is awesome, im willing to overlook it. but come on ubi soft, consider it. you should be able to pick up other peoples weapons, whats so hard about integrating it into the game. another thing is most of the missions where you are allowed to kill people, you could use an extra clip or two. those are the only other bad things in the game. if you are reading reviews that say the game is crappy, thats bs. come on, its the first release. thats what patches and add-ons are for (for those of us with xbox live)

I loved this game!
the graphics were slick, the controls were tight and the camera angles were ok. But I have one problem, there is no hand to hand combat mode. If a guard is being to observant as I sneak up behind him, I have no time to press R (GCN) I wished there was a knife or a fist you could just punch him in the face. I mean come on, Fisher being the kind of guy he is, wouldn't he just get one course in Hand to hand combat? seriously thought, great game one of the best almost as good as hitman II, at least in hitman you have the option of breaking down the door with a assult rifle and blasting everyone to hell, not in spinter cell....meh who cares, bring on Pandora!

Ok, I bought an Xbox simply for the dvd player so I can watch my movies. I used to play Tom Clanceys "Rainbow Six" like a madman so I decided to give Splinter Cell a shot. GOOD LORD i was hooked like a mofo. I'm so stuck on the CIA building, the main hall is impossible to get across and who knows where you need to go from there. Love the night vision, gives the surroundings a whole different perspective. The story line is amazing but brings back memories of 911. I dont play many games at all simply because they all suck or just lack excitement, but Splinter Cell takes the cake for sure. this is the best game in the history of xbox. The graphics, the lighting, the weapons. I thought the weapons were very realistic and not something out of James Bond. i love how it is sort of a puzzle game and you have to watch the movements of the guards and time every thing. I do wish that 2 things could be different. 1. I think you should be able to kick the enemies. 2. you should be able to swich the hand you are shooting with. Some times you look around a corner and you have to expose your entire body and you end up getting shot. And also, having little ammo is very realistic, try caring 600 bullets around with out making a noise. Thats all i have to say.

Besides from being basically a spin-off of "Metal Gear + Syphon Filter" (played both of them, thumbs down) the game is a pioneer in its own rights, because of the unique storyline and killer graphics. The only downfall to me is the game lacked the dept in
storyline and the plot seemed to be a tad choppy and skipped over key points like, why did Nikoladze truly conspire with the Chinese Govt. and what was his eventual goal, and with the insert/extraction how did they get a Western Bloc. helo into Burma, and also the Splinter Cell consept is rather imaginative in inserting a one man cell member into a country and reekingso much havoc (can anyone say RAMBO!!!).

I know they had to keep it rated "T" to sell more copies, but for a game that takes place during a war needs to have more blood and more graphic killing. Halo kicks Splinter Cell's butt in that category. However, the graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is realistic, plus the story's great. I enjoy the news footage between levels. It ups the realism of the game. You should get your SC-20K before CIA headquarters, but my copy of the Prima's Official Strategy guide makes the game beatable. Most of it's good, but there's not enough killing or blood. E-mail me if you find any cheats for new weapons, okay, but I'm not on XBox Live, so just within the game.

after playing on this game for a whole month now ive come 2 the conclusions its a great game, the graphics r sh*t hot, the game play is awesome and the story line is great. but there r some things which could b improved, like the guys apearing through the walls an doors, more weapons maybe. personally i find this game hard, im stuck on the 2nd chineese embassy level at the end with the fire on the stairs, so if u know how 2 get passed it plz mail me an let me know, but i have 2 say i would prefer 2 play games like ghost recon, an im waiting for operation flash point which im sure should be a good game. but overall wot a brilliant game, bloody awesome.

the graphics and sounds are phenominal. But it's a shame that the guards have supersonic hearing and the alarms are set off by the smallest mistake. In my opinion, there needs to be an EASY level in this game because some of the levels were too hard and I ended up spending several hours on one check point. What was especially sucky was when time limits were set. It already sucks enough that you spend most of your time waiting during play in this game. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack several times just trying to get to the next check point. That made me say that this game is a shame b/c the graphics rock, but actually playing it sucks!!!

I think that this game is amazingly good, but has a few problems. Like the oil rig for instance, what kind of a level is that it is short, there is no ending and after two great levels before it the game turns bla. After that is another great level. The thing i dislike the most is how sometimes guards can see you when you are hiding in a dark corner, and sometimes they cant. Both times your stealth meter is at the bottom, but sometimes they can see right through the dark. Some other things I dislike in the game are when you have to hide bodies and if you dont as soon as you enter the next room the alarm goes out. All in all this is a great game

splinter cell is a great game, but there are'nt that many guns. The last level is way too easy to end the game and so are the other levels. Metal gear solid has lots of guns and there are various difficulties for your desire. I think the wall mines were a brilliant idea in splinter cell and the next metal gear solid should have them. The health bar in splinter cell is quite realistic as the Army's standard rifle would take about four bullets to kill you. Metal gear solid on the other hand can take many bullets to kill you, not including european extreme and hard. The whole game is fairly easy even on hard. Metal gear solid beats splinter cell

The game is amazing to say the least, but there are a few thing's that I thought should be better...
First of all, hand to hand combat.. whats whit the pussey ass elbo?... this is Sam Fisher were talking about here.. there should be at least some kicks and punches thrown in there..and thats not asking for much...
Allo... does Sam go partially blind sometimes due to an overwhelming intake of Lemon Gin??.. i dont think so...so what do you have to fire like 5 shots before one finally hits the bad guy.. and then you gotta fire like 20 more to kill the guy..
I just dont understand how an amazing game like this could have majo flaws...

This game has the best graphics, hands-down. the game was very challenging, but I beat the entire game in one week. Don't waste your money with Metal Gear Solid, this game blows that away. The best part of Splinter Cell would have to be the stealth action. sneaking up on your enemy is much more fun then the James Bond, Run and gun type game. The lighting in this game is so realistic, it is crazy. And if you have a PS2 or Xbox, I suggest buying this game for PC instead of both of those. The graphics and details are much better and the mouse-look is easier than using your thumb on those controllers. So don;t waste your tim looking, buy it.

this game is great i love sneaking behind people a hit them with my fist or a beer bottle it will drop him bad. when is played metal gear solid 2 and played this there is no comparing between them the game play much more fun but i have some stuff i want to say that i dont like about this game. im metal gear there are a bunch of movies but in splinter cell like once or twice in the hole game and PLINTER CELL is short! metal gear solid 2 is a lot longer and! WHY THE STORY SUxx when i played the game i did not care about the (each level movie) i just skipped them! all i know is that KILL the damn gorgian leader i recommend to buy used!

Splinter Cell wicked mofo game even tho it abit short but what the hey buy xbox live and d/l new lvl's which Aint 2 shabbie. The weapons are wicked the gadgets even better. Just shootin a guard with a shock dart makes ur life a little more Sane from waking up 2 a Ugly shebeast in ur bed the previous Morning. Splinter cell is not a run around killin game which makes it more intresting, hidin up on pipes w8tin 4 ur target 2 walk under u and drop down and punching his lights out, or popping a bullet in his skull and watch Him fall the all floor like a sack of crap. Splinter cell is the best game on the xbox so go out and buy it.

Splinter Cell by far is the best game on the planet. Great graphics, I am amazed how they had such great drawing skills. The missions are extremely cool. The one thing I think they could of improved on is killing Nikoladze. To bad Sam just had to snipe him. But, I guess that was the only good way to try and kill him after Sam figures out how to get through the mission. CIA Headquarters has great graphics in the level. Light and Shadow are a good thing to include in a game. It makes the game more competitive and much harder. Well, I hope UBI Soft has alot of luck in the future with video games. Keep up the great work guys!!!!

This game is the best. It was the first gmae I got for Xbox but I have have played many others and this stands out the most.It has awesome graphics, great storyline and nice gear. I admit it is pretty hard. Usually the alarms go off every second, but thatss just a skill I need to work on. Also this is like real life. In most shooting/action games the bodies just disappear and are forgotten. In real life they aren't going to disappear and people ARE going to find them. Thats what I like about this game, its realistic.Last the moves and techniques are cool, cutting edge and are fun to use. You have to buy this game.

I had to speak up because a previous 1 star review ticked me off. This game is quality in every sense of the word and no more expensive than any other game fresh on the market. The fact that bullets are few and you must work for your checkpoints makes this game worth the money. Do you get the idea OMG...if it's too hard for you stick with Game Cube Mario Sunshine. Real gamers need only apply for the challenge of this game. I loved metal gear and this is much better than that. I hate when people complain when the game doesn't play for them. Don't miss out on most possibly the best game ever created thus far. Til pt2
