perfection except.... |
| josiah clarke from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada says (27/Nov/2002): |
but i have notticed that there are a lot of clipping issues with the dead or unconsious bodies and some of the item pick animations are a little sketchy being as the guy glides to the object or the body, and the trail and error can be more than redundent (eg cia level or the place with mines and snipers). all that said the shadow work and lighting effects are the best ever and the stratagy required in this game is like nothing ever seen befor. the ai is way better than some games it is near perfection, although the change in enviroment dection is a little um (how should i put this) crappy. but again a great game

Best game yet |
| Steven from New Mexico, USA says (20/Jan/2003): |
Splinter cell is better then halo. I never think anything would be better then halo. The graphics are really good. I think everybody with a xbox should buy it. The sounds are increadable. It is the best game i've ever played yet. I think that every body likes this that have played it and it should be the best game of 2002 and 2003. The lighting is really good and I think also that the way the peoples faces look different than other people and how instead of people looking like their clothes are painted on, they look regular. the people look like real people and when you beat the mission the news thing look real.

The Shiznit:) |
| Kyle B. M. from Merced, USA says (23/Mar/2003): |
This game is truly amazing. The graphics are the "Oh my god!" type. I've never played a game this fun, challenging, and once again, honest to god amazing.
The high points in this game to me are:
•graphics
•level of skill required
•weapons
•alarms
•levels
I think there should've been more levels, but it's cool I can download them on xbox live. A sequel is requested. A unique, and awesome gaming experience in this game took place completely through every level. Nice Job!

Best thing since Halo |
| A gamer says (20/Nov/2002): |
When I first saw this game I thought it would be a good game, so as I waited for it I starting seeing alot of ads promating it, by this time I was really starting to get pumped over this game. Then at last the day came and I went and got my copy of it. As soon as I started playing it I noticed just how much detail they put into it, The story line is solid and the movies are tight. This is one of the few games that has me hooked. This is what the xbox needs. The only other games that I can think of that are on the same level as this are Halo, and Shenmue 2. now i just have to wait for Panzar dragoon orta :)

Awesome |
| Sam Fisher from Toronto, Ontario says (4/May/2003): |
This game makes you think which is probably why some idiots don't like it (Like Doc Hollywood from Cincinnati). They want the brainless shoot-em-ups. This is all about strategy and it's about time someone made a realistic game which doesn' t insult the user. I finished the game, now I go back and try to be daring on different levels. It's funny to hear Lambert freak out whenever you kill someone you aren't supposed to kill. I'm glad there aren't any cheats for this game because that would just take away from the fun of it all. This is, without a doubt, the best value in video gaming out there on the market.

Awesome Game!!! |
| Mak from Federalsburg, MD says (13/Jan/2003): |
This game is the best stealth game I have ever played, and crying about the targeting system is dumb. Nobody is a dead perfect shot all the time, actually I thought it was pretty easy. Either Im just that good or you guys just suck that bad. The game is about stealth, not just run in a room and blow everthing away, and once you get into the later levels of the game you have plenty of gadgets and ammo to play with, I am at the end of the game and have not ran out of ammo yet in a mission, its about STEALTH!!!, you gotta sneak up more on people in the earlier missions of the game, not just shoot everyone.

it sucks(kinda) |
| frank from new york new york says (11/Dec/2002): |
there are so many bugs and glitches in it i cant stand it. i just got the game and i am on the ministry of defense. (the 2nd level) i had gotten near the end of the level before but i had no ammo so i restarted the level. i just got up to the part where you have to shimmy arross the pipe into the kitchen and i every time i get to the same spot it says i set off an alarm. ok i can handle that but what bugs me is that i had just done that part not 10 minutes ago and it never said alarm set off at that spot. so if ne 1 can help maybe i am just retarded or sumtin e mail me ill take any and all suggestions

alarms. |
| A gamer from wilmington delaware says (19/Dec/2002): |
i read about 30 reviews from people complaining about alarms and running out of bullets. this is not rambo, nor is this atari. you cannot go into this game guns a blazing. the game is not that simple. it's for adults with patience a big screen tv and surround sound. if you don't find yourself timing guards or waiting a long time for the right moments to strike you aren't playing this game right. if you keep setting of alarms you aren't playing right. if you get into more than 3 gunfights you aren't playing right. follow directions. you're a fat fingerer and you should be playing mario kart, the end.

It rocks !!! |
| A gamer from Colorado Springs, USA says (6/Nov/2002): |
I bought the newest issue of Official Xbox Magazine along with its game demo. Since the demo is not a tested game, it freezes a lot, but on the demo is Splinter Cell from Tom Clancy's book. The graphics are crisp (shadows, movement, and everything else in the catagory). The night vision and thermal vision are amazingly real, and add a ton of effect on the gameplay. The movements of Sam Fisher (protagonist) are solid. The only reason for a score of 9 is because the game freezes everytime I reach a certain point, thus not experiencing much more of the game. Final score: 9 -Hope this helps.

Hard at First But Ull Get the Hang of It!! |
| Jonny b from Indy, USA says (19/May/2003): |
Splinter Cell is one of the best games I have ever played. I give it a 10 in every aspect of the game. From graphics, health(how long you live) to the level difficulty. The levels, if you are playing normal aren't too hard or aren't too easy. I would definitely recommend this game to people who love to play eye catching, fast moving, shooting games. I just started playing it but ever since I started I haven't put the controlors down( other than to study for my final exams)! If you have never played this game before you are wrong! It is the best game in the world. Better than the Matrix!

God Like! |
| Paul Robinson from Scarborough, Ontario says (26/Nov/2002): |
I have only enjoyed this game from a demo's point of view but from what i played,it puts MGS to shame. Not that i'm criticising Metal Gear or anything but you just have way more to do and the tools to accompish them. I still remember playing the Metal Gear Solid 2. I never thought anyone would ever replace it. It was soo detailed and the ability to hold up gurads and jack them was amazing, but until i tried it out in SC, well let's just say Raiden has nothing on Sam Fisher. So to everyone who has an xbox and loves espionage just as much as i do, BUY THIS GAME. Your a fool if you don't!

Trash |
| Doc Hollywood from Cincinnati, Ohio says (25/Apr/2003): |
Big brother ruins this game. Every time you move this guy tells you "the mission is over". This game is so slow paced I dozed off the other day playing it. Where is the action and shoot-em up fun of a real video game. This game has nothing on such fun titles as grand theft auto. When I find the time to play a game in my free time I don't want it to feel like work, and this game feels like work. There isn't enough fun factors to make all the super-slow sneeky (boring) activities worth my time. I owned the game for two weeks and sold it for $5.00. This game is a piece of trash.

Booya grandma! |
| Aaron from St.Catharines, Canada says (2/Dec/2002): |
Splinter cell dominates any spy game Ive ever played even though it can get really hard at times, but isnt it about time video games should get more challenging.....let me tell ya this is it! The gameplay is the best part about this game, everything is so real... guards see your shadow, even help out the guys you pistol whipped, they can hear you, notice the mess you left. This is actually the first stealth game ive ever seen when the guards actually have some common sense. I give this game 10/10 and get off your lazy butt and buy the game!!!!!!!.....or at least rent it!

This game is off the heezy! |
| Fish Hummel from Rockwall, Texas U.S.A says (28/Feb/2003): |
Tom Clancy is a pure genious. He puts basically all of the aspects that everyone wants in a game into this one. It's tight because the A.I. is so aware of everything that you do, the gameplay is so suspenseful, especially in the library on the last level. One nice touch by Clancy is, the curtains and blinds that move when you walk/run through them. Also the fact that you have to use all of the buttons and control every motion that Fisher has is awesome. One more thing, Splinter Cell for PS2, doesn't even compare to the one for Xbox. That is why this one is a definite 10.

Best Tom Clancy Game |
| Andy from Las Vegas NV says (11/Jun/2003): |
I thought nothing could be as fun as Ghost Recon but this is way more fun. The only thing wrong is there isnt enough levels. The game is to short, if you had stuff to unlock that would be awesome, but still this game is one of my favorites. Next to Metal Gear this game is pretty cool which is alot since Metal Gear was suck a kick ass game. If they do make SC2 they should put some of these things in there and maybe a knife that would be cool since of the limited amount of bullets. Other than that this game rocks. Tom Clancy should help on the next Metal Gear game.

One of the best games ever made. A Classic |
| Richie Goodyear from Deeside says (18/Jan/2003): |
Splinter must be one of the best games ever made,I think it is so much better than Metal Gear Solid. You can't hide bodies in cuboards but the gadgets make up for that the sticky camara is one the best gadgets ever I'm supprised James Bond hasnt got them.I didn't think i would like this game because it is stealth but then i played it at my mates, and i had to buy it. So i think Splinter Cell is one of the best games ever made. I if you buy this game you will have hours, days and even months of fun if it. My mate has compleated it 3 times and hes trying for a 4.
|
Brilliant!!! |
| SpLinterFaN from Canada says (11/Dec/2002): |
Well, for my fellow splinter cell gamers, the reason the alarms are goin off is because the bodies are not being hidden in that right place, COME ON, IF THE GAME IS REALISTIC, THINK REALISTIC!! You cant just hide the bodies in a corner, it's gotta be in the dark, no light at all! I came across this problem to find out it was just not the right place to hide the body!! Splinter Cell is probably the best game xbox or ps2 could ever come out with!! I hope upcoming games turn out like splinter cell did!! Props to the montreal team who put together such a classic!

Extremely cool.... they thought of everything! |
| A gamer from Oshkosh, USA says (10/Dec/2002): |
The other day I was playing the level where you have to go through the meat lockers. While playing I sniped a guard with my thermal goggles on. I quickly zoomed out and was about to go on my way when I noticed that the shell that I just fired was glowing red with my thermal goggles on. Then it quickly cooled off with the temperature of the cooler around it. It was probably one of the coolest things I have seen in a video game. Most game developers wouldn't go through the time or effort to worry about the temperature of recently fired bullets.

Amazing game |
| Dan from NY, USA says (11/Dec/2002): |
This is the best game I have ever played for any game system in my life. The graphics and gameplay are incredible, along with the lighting and shadows. I became addicted to it. Everyone who is frustrated with alarms going off, you need to make sure all your bodies are hidden, in dark corners. I think the game is challenging as well. There are a few things that I would change about it, which includes adding a multiplayer, but the incredible single player makes up for it. I highly recommend this game, I give it a 9.8, and I can't wait for the sequel.

BEST graphics on any game ever!!!! |
| Matt Lawson from Spokane, Washington USA says (18/Jan/2003): |
This is truly a great game. The liting afects are so real! the limet of bullets are exelent for strateges. Imagen seing two guards in a kitchen. Turning the lights of in the fezer and then throwing a bottle in it and distracting the gaurds. Then whill there looking for the cause of the noice in the frezer turning off the lights in the entire kitchen and putting your night vision on while knocking them out while they can't see. Splinter cell forces you to think. Like shooting out a light so a camra in a long hallway can't see you. This game rocks!!
