BEST GAME EVER! |
| M DOG says (4/Jan/2003): |
Okay now I hear everyones talking about HALO 2 going to be the best game. I say Splinter Cell would kill HALO 2 in votes, and its not just because the graphics its because it puts you in the seat of a real spy not some James Bond running around with guns killing everyone you see. It lets you hide in shadow when most games you can see him in the dark areas.IN SHORTER WORDS BEST GAME EVER!

Great Game |
| jon from Westfield, USA says (4/Jan/2003): |
I think that this game is amazingly good, but has a few problems. Like the oil rig for instance, what kind of a level is that it is short, there is no ending and after two great levels before it the game turns bla. After that is another great level. The thing i dislike the most is how sometimes guards can see you when you are hiding in a dark corner, and sometimes they cant. Both times your stealth meter is at the bottom, but sometimes they can see right through the dark. Some other things I dislike in the game are when you have to hide bodies and if you dont as soon as you enter the next room the alarm goes out. All in all this is a great game

Splinter Cell: VERY GOOD GAME |
| One Eyed Parrot from USA says (3/Jan/2003): |
Splinter Cell is the coolest game i have ever played! It beats mgs and mgs2 by a long shot. one thing i like about it is all the moves you can perform, my favorite being where you canget between a narrow wall and out your legs against each side. Its fun to wait for enemies to pass under and just drop on them. It is very realistic in terms of the tecnology offered (nightvision, thermal vision) All the gadgets you get are cool too! Very good game and definitely worth your money!

Splinter Cell International |
| A gamer from Gernsheim, Germany says (3/Jan/2003): |
Hi I live in Germany on what follows that I'm German. Splinter Cell Isnt really popular over here, cause the X-BOX is really expensive in comparisson to the USA. I only know like 3 people with an X-BOX over here. Ive beaten the game once already and i've finished the Chinese Embassy stage on hard now. Well to the point: Splinter Cell is the best game ever cause there are so many different ways to beat it, you can keep tottaly quiet and invisible and beat the game by killing only the people you have to (Kombayn Nokoladze, Grinko e.t.c, or you can kill everyone who crosses your path (Gets a lil' hard at CIA). Its amazingly versitile eventhough its a level-based game. I cant wait till X-BOX LIFE comes out. Shout Outs to all Splinter-Cell-Players out in the world.

Splinter Cell |
| A gamer from easton, pa usa says (3/Jan/2003): |
this game is ridiculous. i think it ranks up there with the first metal gear solid on playstation. as for saying its better then halo, dont get ahead of yourself. but it is a truly good game and a must have, iv noticed i have become quite addicted haha

Dont understand why they can see you |
| Juan from Sioux City, Iowa says (3/Jan/2003): |
Overall the game rocks. But I agree with some of the other comments made from other people. Mine is How can the badguys see you in a dark ally, passage way, or room. Ive shot all the lights out and its dark. I throw a can to get the attention of one badguy and it runs directly to my position.but any ways its cool. Im almost done with the game, just rented the game yesterday and its been pretty easy. Hope there is a splitter II.

Stop Cryin' over Auto Aim. |
| Kevin from Boise, USA says (3/Jan/2003): |
As some people have previously mentioned, you actually need skills to play this game, so if you are one of those people that needs help from mommy and auto aim….don’t buy this game.
Overall I give the game a 10. This game is very realistic. You are in enemy territory for most of the game; so you can’t go running around like a moron. You can't just go around killing everyone, or you will run out of ammo, as would happen in real life. This game requires you to think about how you are going to get through levels. Sometimes one alarm set off will end your game. You can't pick up the guards weapons because they don't have the same weapons as you. I like the gadgets in this game a lot. Sticky camera, distraction cameras, and the non-lethal devices. I like how the game seems to get harder with each passing level as well.
The one glitch I noticed is in using the non-lethal devices. 95 percent of the time when you knock someone out with a non-lethal device, they will stay down and knocked out for the whole level, but I’ve noticed a few times that they will wake back up and try to stand up, I don’t know how this happens, has anyone else experienced this?

Amazing, don't think about not playing this game, don't miss out |
| John from lexington ky usa says (3/Jan/2003): |
I just started this game a few days ago and its got to be the best game that i have ever played. The best thing about about this game is the split jump! What makes this game so great is the ability to shoot out all of the lights and sneak up on an enemy and take him out, thats the great thing about this game, you have to sneak around instead of just shooting and running around. If you havent played this game you have to buy it!

Sike! |
| A gamer from Atlanta says (2/Jan/2003): |
This game is tha bomb. Even though I havent got very far I love it. SHUT UP with the complaining about the glitches. You guys just suck at tha game. Tha reason Im not far is because i bought tha game last night. I'll show you rookies how to play a spy-cia game.

good game but y r u complaining? |
| pol from new jersey, usa says (2/Jan/2003): |
ok. very very good game. graphics are best ive ever seen, gameplay is awsome, much more realistic than any other tactical espionage game out there. who says you need more than 2 guns? and why do you run out of ammo so quickly? first, you only need 2 guns and u cant take guns off guards because its loud, not silenced, and y do u need them if your gun is better. how did u run out of ammo. i never ran out of ammo in this game. you just ran out of ammo because you are a bad shot and you dont know how to punch people from behind or grab them. and u cant take ammo from bodies because its the wrong type of bullet. Alarms go off out of know where because you didnt hide all the bodies in a completly dark area. and if you think you hid all the bodies check again. Oh ya, and why are you guys compairing this to halo? they are 2 completely different types of games and should not be compared. oh ya and splinter cell is a 3rd PERSON game NOT a FIRST PERSON game. first person is when you are in the characters eyes and 3rd person is the outside view when you can see your character for all you people that didnt know that.

In the words of Sam Fisher, |
| David from Willmar, USA says (2/Jan/2003): |
First person shooters are usually associated with blazing barrels and stormy entrances, but Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is a one-of-a-kind game. Gamers take on the role of Sam Fisher, who must steal his way through his missions using not his firearms, but his cunning and wits. Thus, he must travel light, carrying only a few weapons and little ammo, which must be used carefully if Sam is to remain stealthy. Therefore the gameplay is somewhat slow at times, but exciting all the same. The thrill of incapacitating unwitting guards is exhilirating, and makes up for the lack of "Rambo" or "James Bond" scenarios. If the gamer truly needs his/her fix for all-out action, try the Kalinetic level, which equips Sam with the SC-20k, an all purpose firearm, as well as frag grenades. I found it to be a relief from stealth for a while, considering I was used to games like Perfect Dark and James Bond, which didn't require such a strenuous level of stealth. I haven't completed the game yet, but so far I find it quite amazing. The innovative light system is thrilling, if not always realistic. For example, there are scenarios in which I've hidden Sam in a shadow, but the guard was TWO FEET in front of me! How could a guard fail to notice someone at that distance? I think the graphics are great, especially during the movie quality cinemas. I moved from the N64 to the X-BOX, and there is no comparison. Gameplay is phenomenal. Sam has a range of skills to deploy, enough gadgets to get the job done, and a killer attitude mixed with an occasional whitty quip that makes him one of the coolest characters around. I have so much playing this game I even move around my house stealthily at night!

SWEET |
| David from Illinois, USA says (2/Jan/2003): |
I recieved the game for christmas and was very pleased from the moment i saw the intoduction video. I really love this game because the graphics are flawless and it is glitch free, i also love the fact that you have to be sneaky and with limited amounts of ammunition this makes everyone think of a strategy, no running in rooms without getting the alarm pulled type of deal. This game is no doubt better than any Metal Gear so far. I give my appreciation to Tom Clancy and another wonderfuly polished game.

Beat it! |
| m says (1/Jan/2003): |
I finally beat this game! This is probably the hardest game i have ever played, as far as shooters go. Wow that last level was tough. Awsome realism and use with light and shodows. I know im sick of cheap ass games coming out on the box with bad graphics, finally this game does it justice. Metal solid doesn't have anything on Splinter cell. I would have liked to know that if you hold the L trigger while zooming in, the shot becomes still. I just read that after i beat the game. Go buy it if you dont have it yet.

IM A CREEP |
| michael edwards from liverpool says (1/Jan/2003): |
cos creepings what this game is all about, small but annoying flaws need to be rectified in the follow up to this title, namely not being able to commendere the gaurds weapons (why do they hold onto them when their unconscious?) and lack of james bond style gadgets, i suppose this is to force you into all that creeping around stuff, but i do enough creeping around my own house so come on next game gizmos gadgets and a bloody great rocket launcher please!!

A little help on the CIA level. |
| Nathan from Ludlow, Mass. says (1/Jan/2003): |
OK, I bought Splinter Cell the day after X-mas. I love it. I beat it twice, on normal and hard. This game is great, because it's the first of it's kind.
I will explain to you why this game is the best game ever. First, it is made in America, by Americans. Tom Clancy and all the people at Ubisoft are geniuses. The games they have made are more realistic then the Japanese developers. I'm not racist or anything, but how often do you see a vampire, a physic, a black chick with a massive laser gun, and a huge metal dinosaur all in the same game? That's right, I'm talking about MGS and MGS2. They were great, but they weren't realistic enough to be called a stealth game.
Splinter Cell on the other hand is realistic. You enter a room after using the optic cable to check it out. You find a guard twenty feet away. You can do so much right at that second, shoot him in the head( which always works for me ), shoot the lights, shock him, air-foil round him, ignore him all together, or you can sneak up on him and knock him out. Those facts alone make this game just plain nasty.
Alright, as for the CIA level. Don't kill anybody here, or the mission will end. In the begining if you want to skip a little bit, don't go into the air vents. Instead, you can go to the left of the front door. There should be a pipe. Climb it. Jump to the ledge, and enter the crawl space. You will find yourself in the large room right before the elevator access. You can eliminate most of these guards with basic sneaking and attacking. The guard on the phone in the elevator room can be knocked out when he's talking. You'll have to distract the other guard though. If you throw a can towards the entrance of the room, he'll probably leave. I'm not going to tell you about the whole mission, but I will tell you that if you go slow, and learn the guards' routes, it can be completed without alerting the guards at all. I did it on hard without a problem.
Now, I'm going to tell all the people that say there isn't enough ammo exactly why that is. Sam's gun is silenced, both guns are silenced actually. None of the terrorists' guns are silenced, except for some who have silenced pistols I think. Also, your gun is a last resort. You should not have to shoot all the time, and if you do shoot a lot, take very careful shots. Don't shoot street lights, I mean the ones on telephone poles, th big ones. Also, don't shoot the lights with cages around them, they won't break, so dont waste your time. One last thing, this game is based on stealth, so watch the alarms! Hide bodies like a magician, if there is a body on the ground, it should be completely hidden, or you will probably get caught. Use your head in this game, its all about brains over brawn.

A great game that needs a sequel!!! |
| Joshua Lipford from Burton MI, 48529, USA says (1/Jan/2003): |
I have beaten the game already but still go back and play different levels. You can challenge your self by using all stealth or trying to sneak past guards without shooting them. It isnt as fun after you beat it when you go backand play. I hear there is going to be a sequel and I cant wait. This is a spectacular game that none can rival. I dont know why you guys think its hard to save ammo. Stealth is the name of the game not shooting everything 20 times.

Not Enough Blood |
| alex ward from San Antonio, Texas says (1/Jan/2003): |
I know they had to keep it rated "T" to sell more copies, but for a game that takes place during a war needs to have more blood and more graphic killing. Halo kicks Splinter Cell's butt in that category. However, the graphics are stunning, and the gameplay is realistic, plus the story's great. I enjoy the news footage between levels. It ups the realism of the game. You should get your SC-20K before CIA headquarters, but my copy of the Prima's Official Strategy guide makes the game beatable. Most of it's good, but there's not enough killing or blood. E-mail me if you find any cheats for new weapons, okay, but I'm not on XBox Live, so just within the game.

what a great game |
| Gaurdsman Williams from newport south wales U.K says (1/Jan/2003): |
after playing on this game for a whole month now ive come 2 the conclusions its a great game, the graphics r sh*t hot, the game play is awesome and the story line is great. but there r some things which could b improved, like the guys apearing through the walls an doors, more weapons maybe. personally i find this game hard, im stuck on the 2nd chineese embassy level at the end with the fire on the stairs, so if u know how 2 get passed it plz mail me an let me know, but i have 2 say i would prefer 2 play games like ghost recon, an im waiting for operation flash point which im sure should be a good game. but overall wot a brilliant game, bloody awesome.

you need to use your head not a gun |
| josh smith from miami,floida says (1/Jan/2003): |
i hear people running out of ammo because they depend on a gun to much reminder this is a stealth game not a shoot and hide you have to plan out shoot the lights if u need to don't shoot it if u need to blend in hiding for no guards or cams. i just simply go behind them and put a gun on there head and use them as sheilds or shoot out the lights to make investagate it to die. this game is for skilled people if your not skilled well you better learn and stop complaining.

Splinter Cell |
| Ace from Houston, Texas, USA says (1/Jan/2003): |
Splinter Cell is just as good as Halo not any worse or better. The style is way different, its based around stealth. Dont judge this by other Tom Clancy games because they are nothing alike. The graphics are the best yet on XBox. The difficulty can be frustrating sometimes becuase there is not enough checkpoints in levels. It is the most original game I have ever played. Nothing like Metal Gear Solid 2. The gadets are vary unique. The storyline is very good, but it can cunfusing sometimes Its to short though, I beet it in 5 days there are only 9 levels!!! The sound sounds real with 5.1 sorround sound. You going to be able to download 4 additional levels through XBox Live soon !! Crap I have to wait for Splinter 2, Ohhhhhhhh the waiting.
