Better Than Average,,, Maybe. | | Neptunes from Scotland says (30/Sep/2003): | I had huge hopes for this game. I love the Smackdown games especially the PS2 ones and when I first got an xbox I was hugely disapointed in Raw. So I thought, maybe they were getting used to the 'system' they were using eg the hardware. So I waited rather patiently I might add, I heard th hype etc and slowly my expectations were creeping up.
Then it came.
I made a grave error in having an exhibition at first with 3 of my mates... It was... Graphically very good I thought, but sluggish. I know the PS2 pads are a million times better, I mean lets face it, they wont be beaten, but the actual gameplay is sluggish and slow.
They opted to go for a grapple then move system, but somehow made it poorer than No Mercy's.
Wrestlemania2k introduced it and it was ok. Different. Not as good as smackdown but better than the -> -> X Idea for manouvres. the No mercy raised the bar, to its peak really.
So why they opted for these controls beggars belief... but the question as to why the made them worse is even stranger!!!
So the game rolled on... It became clear than some of the trademarks where there, I was Rvd, my friends were Jericho, Kane and Benoit.
The colision detection at first seemed good but then became annoying. It became a huge hash up of moves been broken by a punch etc. Bodies everywhere. But the most annoying thing was the targetting. Auto target? Nope. So if someone is behind you punching you, it doesnt focus, so you have to manually change. Very annoying.
Then there is create a character.
Hmmmm...
Jury is still out on this one.
Very cool idea to have backstage/casual costume. But the whole process was somewhat lacking I thought. There was alot of very cool things and while I cant say Smackdowns is better, I cant say this is either.
The moves def arent as good, there is some nice touches, the chair shots are great fun, but the lack of depth is startling when compared to Wrestlemania2k... never mind No Mercy and thats not even considering Smackdown!
Where it excells is the entrance's. The whole process can be tiring... probably taking longer than the rest of you customization altogether but once its done its magnificent and truly individual. You can upload songs and make your own Titantron video!!!
However as you go on, you will almost certainly skip your entrance, so the novelty wears off very quickly.
So onto the career.
Forget all the hype about what you could do etc. Its the 4 player mode that got me excited. Not since the very foirst smackdown has there been a good m-player career.
This while lacking in gameplay makes up for in ingenuity. However the major problem with it is, you could have a feud with Brock Lesnar... For 2-3 months... and at the huge ppv, get Spike Dudley. Also, there is a lack of belts. So most matches are nothing more than timewasting. And as for the so-called special matches??? Well you hardly and I mean hardly ever get them. Tag matches are a whole different story... first off you control both guys... secondly you are always gettin pins broke up by yours and your opponents partners???!
Plus when your enemy runs out... they attack your opponent?!!!! Unexplainable!!!!
The career did have alot of good things, the stealling, the setting traps... the managing etc etc but not enough depth in the idea. Why there is no txt is a huge question. Most of the time the guys come out wave there arms etc and you dont have the faintest clue whats going on... deeming the whole cutseen pointless.
All in all I'd say the game got brave and tried alot of new things, and while I may seem overly critical the game does have alot of flaws which STILL exist from Raw. This means any expectations I had were doomed from day 1! In saying this there are a few fun moments and it can be fun when playing with friends but my advice is save your £50 etc and pay a friend to let you play Here Comes the Pain.

If you dont have a belt at the end of the season the game is over. I think, but I could be wrong, that even if you do have a belt at the end of the season the game is over. Reminicent of the days of the old nintendo with techmo bowl. You could pick from a small number of teams to play a season with but regardless of how you finished the season, the game ended after the superbowl and the only way to play another season was to repeat the previous one with the same team or choose another team. Even the best of games gets stale after a bit if the element of infinite possiblities is nonexistent.
Not that I think it is proper to compare a wrestling game to a football game but in the circumstances there are some key points that apply. For those who do remember, TechmoBowl had a sequel, called SuperTechmo Bowl. It improved upon the original by getting actual permission to use nfl teams, rosters and the complete 1991 season schedual(I think) and any 2 teams could battle it out for the year and possibly get to the superbowl etc etc. However again the continuous multiple season play mode was beyond our reach and the player had to settle for repeating the same schedual year over and over until madden 94 or 95 for the super nintendo and its rival at the time the sega genesis. (Yes this is still about WWE Raw2 be patient) At which time at the completion of a season you could select from 2 preprogrammed alternate seasons to sort of continue into future possibilities but it too had its limits. It wasnt untill the advent of the playstation and the SPS that Franchise mode gave players the depth of infinite possibilities in their game. Finally players could take control of their favorite team and guide them through a season and then perform the off season tasks like drafts and free agent acquisition that made the game seem more like a virtual NFL. How does this relate to Raw2? I think the smart readers already see where Im heading.
Raw2 is very close to being the perfect WWE game. Very close indeed on a video game evolutionary standard. It allows for near limitless character creation possibilities and has a very popular music editor that enables the full creation of the character not just his or her appearance. Unfortunatly it is obvious that the developers of this game focused just a little too much on the charachter creation portion of the game. And didnt do enough to make the story line portion of the game as strong as we would have liked.
Thing is, all in all its really not in the interest of any video game creator to make the perfect video game. In fact its really not even in the best interests of the WWE to put out a wrestling game as perfect as we can imagine. If Raw2 had the same kind of infinite progressive season potential that a modern day football game has, it would have 2 major faults.
1 At times players could actually produce storylines that were more interesting to them than those on actual Wrestling. Now Im not saying that there would be a mass abandonment of live WWE action, that would just be ignorant. I am saying however that if you realistically can recreate a exceptionally detailed simulation of anything AND completely control it, why woldnt the simulation be better than the real thing that cannot be controlled. (perfect example- there wouldnt be a market for inflatable love dolls if not for some guys out there who felt that they were an acceptable alternative to the real thing)
2 It would be awful hard to follow the "Best Wrestling Game Ever" with an adequate sequal without breaking the limitations of the console it was on with a more advanced console.
Long Story Short: Not bad, cant wait for Raw3.
| Pretty good | | John Markowsky from NJ USA says (20/Oct/2003): | So yeah i got a 1200 check in the mail from our wonderful us government and i figured i should finally listen to people and buy an xbox. was a great purchase, my first games were RAW 2 and Ghost Recon... now Raw 2 where to begin, the game play in itself is pretty decent, the controls once your learn them are easy to master and on the hard difficulty setting the game is a challange. but my problems are with the bugs and the non existan story lines..... My least favorite bug of all time is the "Interference in a title match you win they give belt to the interferer" now about 10 minutes before i sat down to write this, i was battling for the World Championship at the Vengeance Pay Per View im kicking the crap out of the rock with my CAW and my enemy goldberg rushes the ring to beat the hell out of me... i mean the rock.... (thats another horrible bug, MY ENEMIES ATTACK MY OPPONENT WHATS UP WITH THAT!) so yeah, i let goldberg do his two special moves, i do mine and i pin, hooray i win the title right!? WRONG after all the victory animation and "congratulations your the champion" go to the "title holders" tab in the menu and guess what! Chances are you aren't the champion (this has happened 2 out of 3 times i've had interference in a title match, not good odds but it doesn't happen everytime but it is QUITE frustrating when it does) now... season mode.... i mean useless linking of exhibition matches with the occasional pretty cut scene mode..... is anyone else bothered by the fact that there is NO point to it at all? So you can attack superstars.... WHY!? so they can "hate you" and interfer to help in matches? There's no INCENTIVE to attack people.... if you need to do so because you can't beat them 1 on 1 then you just need to turn it on easy..... Getting a manager? sucking up to some superstar so much wasting time so they can lead you to the ring? WHATS THE ADVANTAGE! Especially when the game automatically selects a random one if you dont have one set..... The "Date/Trust" etc cut scenes? Sure they're fun to watch the first time you see them... but they dont do anything! they dont forward the "story" and they dont help/hurt your guy at all. This game had so much potential... The Graphics are amazing the animations are beautiful i mean there are some graphical flaws (Carry a weapon in your entrance and you wave yoru arms the weapon goes through you etc etc) because all games have stuff like that. That's okay i can deal with that. It just frustrates me that the deveolopers left in such OBVIOUS flaws.... why couldn't you spend 3 days and fix them beforey ou shipped it out. THQ I have so much faith in you... WCW World Tour... WCW NWO REVENGE Wrestlemania 2000 WWF No Mercy! are my favorite wrestling games of all time.... All brought to me by THQ.... Amazing games... Simple yet fun and addictive. Then there is the Smackdown Series... if anyone badmouths this series needs to go play Smackdown 2 and 4 again... I mean On smackdown! 5 you can be Kane unmasked and on Raw 2 you can't or at least i haven' t com acros him. It could also have Jeff Hardy, Michael Cole, Jerry "the king" Lawler, Tazz, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Miss Jackie, Sable, Jim Ross, Faarrooq, Scotty 2 hotty, Rosie and Jamaule. Yet it does hav its up sides like on this game If you create a superstar You can mak it so the announcer calls your superstar by up to 4 names and you can stael, set a trap, Select a manager and other stuff. I herd this rumor Mordecai, Eugene Dinsmore and Bradshaw with his whole name will be on Raw 3 if the decide to bring it out, I also herd it will be on the XBOX 2. Another good thing about it is if your in a hurry but you want to watch the limo bit and A superstar is both WWE Champion and World Heavy Weight champion instead of it going WWE CHAMPION... then World Heavy Weight champion... It does it in 1 UNDISPUTED CHAMPION... Another bad thing about is it doesn' t do the Rock and Randy Orton's Theme musics right To more bad things are.
1. If your are trying to create Evolution on CREATE A TEAM there is only 3 slots so 1 superstar canot be on it
2. If say your favorit superstar is like mine The Undertaker and he is the WWE Champion unles u set a trap on the challenger he may lose the title and even if you do set a trap he may still lose. I could go on and On listing good and bad things about this game but why should i when i can rate it in 1 number /10 1 being lowest and 10 being highest i give it a 9. Nearly Perfect. | How did this game get past play testing?! | | Jeff Wylie from Lexington, KY USA says (15/Oct/2003): | Raw was an utterly abyssmal excuse for a game...Raw 2 is better in every way, so...Raw 3 should be awesome right? I agree with most peoples gripes about this game, but it could have really been a great game if they would have worked out some of the major problems with the game. Aside from creative issues (of which there are many) like the non-existent storylines in season mode, I find a new glitch EVERY time I play the game.
- Most frequently is the glitch where your opponent pins you after doing one move to you, you kick out in the nick of time, he kicks, he pins you again before you can get up, you kick out, he pins, you kick out...etc...over and over until your little digits are all worn out and you have to let the game win to get out of a never-ending loop.
- The game also locks up about every 3rd time I go to Create a Wrestler mode. I love losing wrestlers I spent hours creating. Good times.
- Sometimes the sound cuts out completely and can only be fixed by turning off the XBox.
- In season mode, my enemies ALWAYS interfere in my matches. When I say my enemies, I mean all four at once. But at least they ALWAYS attack my opponent instead of me which is a pretty big glitch itself.
- I walk through the tables a lot.
- The instruction booklet has an asterisk by the action button under "Game Controlls" that tells you the action button is used to "go off site" which you can't even do in the game(or at least, I haven't figured it out).
- I beat RVD like a red-headed stepchild at Wrestlemania for the entire 10 minutes of the main event, doing my finisher at least 10 times to him and scores of grapple moves and could not get a 3-count. Time ran out...match draw...really pissed...threw controller. (Maybe I should mention that the only offense RVD could muster was to kick me 3 times in 10 min.)
There is plenty more than what I have mentioned but I guess people won't read this if it is too long. Getting to the good stuff; despite all the problems, the reason I bought the game is because I love the interface. The controls are so easy to master it makes the game fun. The graphics are great and the physics of the moves look excellent. The create a wrestler is 2/3 of the fun of the game. And by the way, it is about time XBox came out with a title that utilizes the custom soundtrack feature; that is a major selling point.
The reason I felt the urge to give my opinion is because this game had the potential to be one of my top shelf games. Right beside Zelda, Contra, and Castlevania.
To whomever it may concern, how about this: you fix the exasperatingly obvious mistakes in the game, re-release it as the GOLD edition or whatever, and let people trade in their horribly buggy copies of RAW 2(just the game disc), take all the old copies out to a big field, burn them, and then never speak them again. You owe it to the people who are loyal to your product.

Xbox THQ and all others who had a hand in making this game had the right idea, the game is soild the gameplay dosn't suck but gets a bit easy after awhile. Create A Superstar must be the only thing that didn't lack anything ( What is a few missing moves ? ) They storylines could have displayed text and yes i agree with most of you on a level that you said the game sucks, sucks not to have the small details which could ( Not Should have ) made the game better. I been playing wrestling games since the Snes and nes days all the way up to the present wrestling game age, and i see big improvement to where hulk hogan could duke it out with lex luger in 2d to where you could create lex luger and have him duke it out with hogan raw 2 style

- Fun Factor -
It's fun to watch up to 6 superstars at a time come in and battle it out in such a fun way, it's fun to see someone like christan and jericho hit the mat form impact of the most dangerous and ever deadly frogsplash which eddie and RVD preform. While we all sit down and take moments to play we have to grasp and pathom that in years it's only going to get better.
- Summary -
Yes it could have been better, as a few post ago someone said " Xbox just got into the wrestling game making " and i have to agree at least it's better then Raw which featured good graphics and yet had very bad almost nightmare like gameplay which became to easy to preform a counter or grapple out of a move. Those who only play wrestling games for " The Perfection " need to show repect at least WWE is even puting out games to sell there massive product i tip my hat to all the coming games which feature new egines of play i also advise you to at least rent it and try it for yourself not on others words :)
| WWE Raw 2 - just a little bit . . . | | Robert from England, UK says (25/Oct/2003): | I bought this game and it is the best wrestling game on the X-Box. However, there is no competition at the moment (legends of wrestling 2 anyone?)which is why I feel the developers have held back (perhaps tweaking everything up in the next installment of Raw). The presentation of the game is excellent and the graphics, in my opinion, can't be faulted. The game-play is great(especially regarding reversing moves) and I found the speed setting to be a realistic pace (unlike the amphetamine driven Smackdown series).
There are a good selection of matches but because there doesn't seem to be a blood option, some of them seem fairly pointless. However, the interactive use with foreign objects is fairly comprehensive and the create a wrestler option is pretty good, giving a wide selection of options to choose from (including the excellent customise pyrotechnics and music entrance options). The season mode is nice and gives plenty of scope(reminiscent of Smackdown 2 with a few bells and whistles thrown in) but you have to work hard to get those 4 way hardcore matches and that. There is not much variety in what you can do though (steal, call out, encourage etc)
My big gripes are that tables are too easy to break. Often you walk into them and they fall apart. The AI system (which has been improved) is still ropey and each wrestler has the same problem in that the weight logic has not been recognised. What I mean is that Rey Misterio Jnr can slam The Big Show or eliminate him from a Royal Rumble! The Royal Rumble itself is pitiful. Why is it that the screen can hold at least 7 people (I've done it) yet a Royal Rumble can only contain 4 wrestlers on the screen at one time? Why do 4 start in the ring at a Royal Rumble? Every wrestling fan knows that 2 men start in the Royal Rumble until the timer runs out and another joins in. That is a cheap way out for THQ and have not really improved on older games in this instance for some reason!
Despite those gripes, they shouldn't be enough to deter anybody from buying the game but I think THQ should tighten everything up and include more new features for the next game. Stuff like Elimination Chamber,old style Survivor Series 8 man elimination tags and the three stages of hell style match (2-3 falls - with or without stipulations). Blood should be optional and the AI system needs to be more intelligent. This series has the potential to beat Smackdown fairly easily - providing THQ pull their finger out.

| Why New WWE Games Suck | | Aaron from guelph, ontario, canada says (12/Jan/2004): | First, I played Wrestlemania XIX for Gamecube... I noticed how stupid the story mode was, REVENGE? What the hell? Oher than that, it was great for playing with a bunch of friends but, whatever.
Then I played Smackdown Here Comes The Pain... people say this game is by far the best wrestling game ever... but why the hell can't they just make a game that has all the good stuff in it? First of all, you start playing the game, and you are in awe by how the graphics are, but then you play, and maybe being a wrestling game maniac, you still keep gettin yer ass kicked by the computer, even on the lowest skill level. I know you gotta practice, but DAMNIT, why do I wanna practice all day, and still get my ass kicked? The AI is just too strong.
Then... I go and buy an XBOX, and I buy the crappiest wrestling game I ever played, thats right... WWE RAW 2... and not even called "Ruthless Aggression" like it was SUPPOSED TO BE CALLED!. The fact is, on the game, there is no dstinction or seperation between RAW and Smackdown superstars, and you cannot decide which one to be afiliated with for each superstar. The create an entrance mode in ceate a wresler mode is the crappiest yet, except for custom soundtracks and entrance music, but thats it. The royal rumble mode sucks, there is no Elimination Chamber, no 6 or 8 man tag match types and the table match is so bloody hard I get pissed off with it. The ladder match is by far the stupidest ladder match type yet for any wrestling game yet. I can press the buttons lightening fast, but ARGH, the other superstar ALWAYS GETS IT! And it takes 5 minute to get the damn belt even after jumping for it!
Also the season mode sucks... there is very limited say. Also, I can't get the friggin title shots! Everytime I DO happen toget a title shot, it's a damn ladder match! THQ should go and suck butt for making such a fooled up game like this, making people beleive it's the best wrestling game availabe, suckering people like me into buying it. For God's sakes, even the screenshots I saw from previews before hand, arent even close to what is actually in the game.
I only gave this game a 1 because I previously had a worst game of all time... but this now makes that other game sound as fun as HALO. Seriously, i'm so ticked off at this game for many good reasons. Te previews were WRONG!

To start, this game has an awesome roster except the fact it has Goldberg in it which is gay he shouldn't be in ne game...ever!!! and i hate that jafe hardy isn't in it but than again he was fired before this game so that's understandable. And it don't have elimination chamber but THQ didn't havee time to add it, unless they delayed it another month or 2. This game is really awesome like the hiac is awesome since you can bust out 4 sections on the top of the cell, un like raw where you can only bust one, and you can chokeslame someone off of it onto the announcer table which is awesome if you haven,t done/attempted it yet. And the TLC is nice accept the CPU only goes for the belt, and the CAS is awesome you can do so much with a character, i've spent hours creating one character and never got bored with it. The entrances are awesome how you can customize nearly everything in it form music to titantron to pyros to the lighting. The Graphics are much better than any other wrestling game around and the fact that you can use your own music for themes. The game also has several things that need fixed
1. Bill Goldberg is in the game
2. no blood
3. no Jeff Hardy
4. no announcers
5. your enemy interferes and attackes your opponent
6. I heard that your enemy can get the title if he interferes i haven't had this happen but if yall say so.
7. to many interferences, i think there should be 2 people allowed to interfere one to help you and one to attack you and none if the match has more then 2 people unless it's a tag match
8. you rarely do what you want in season
9. some wrestlers don't have their same music
10. kane has his mask on in game but off on titantron
11. no shane mcmahon
12. no rodney mack, theodore long
13. no wheight sensibility, unless your standing on a table
14. table breaks if you stand on it, unless it's a table match.
15. not enough match types, last man standing, iron man, casket, first blood(couldn't have one though because there's no blood) etc
16. can't go up the ramp
17. lacks AI
18. in ladder matches CPU only goes for belt, they hardly go after you.

| Raw 2 Pins SD5 | | Harry Ballzonya from Ohio, USA says (2/Nov/2003): | C'mon be honest and lets thing about this here people, Raw 2 may lack matches like the Elimination Chamber and Bra & Panies matches but for one the Elimination Chamber happened to be created well after the game was actually created and when the game is created does anyone else know what happens, it gets the flaws out and gets it ready to be released, then all you do is wait for a release date that will get alot of sells for you're company, so use a bit of common sense and thought before posting, and lets get down to more of it. Would you prefer a game that looks real like Raw 2 or a game that looks like it just came out of you're little sisters coloring book like Smackdown, you get hit on Smackdown and you flop around like paper on a windy day. I prefer reality anyday. Before I dare go on let me explain to everyone before they reply to my post that I own both PS2 and Xbox and I'm not choosing the system I have because I own both. I also own both games but I never play SD because it completly sucks but some of my friends decide to play it sometimes, So lets put it like this overall Raw 2 and SD equal out in ratings, SD has more matches and so on where as Raw 2 comes in with reality and better graphics and etc. The Season modes i'd say that there both good but Raw 2 is better because it gives more overall but then since the superstars dont talk thats where Smackdown's would come in and equal it out. Backstage area, first of all when you have hell in a cell and other matches like that who needs backstage but if thats what gets you're jollies goin then Smackdowns got it but if you think about it, its worth nothing because who honestly has seen a human being thrown into a car and it explode (occured in SD4) Who are we trying to excite with that our 2 year old brothers and sisters. Its a teen game so alot of teens likly will have it and mature younger kids, aswell as some cool parents so give something more real like glass breaking when you throw them into the car or something dont make it explode because last time I checked the terminator was not a wrestler. So like I said Reality is Raw 2 and The Coloring Book is SD

I have both PS2 and a XBOX.. and Smackdown is a far better game than Raw 2. Hell Smackdown 1-4 are better than the Raw Series!!!
The only good things about Raw are the Graphics and the custom soundtracks..

The only good things in WWE raw too is that it didn't suck more than the original wrestle mania for game cube with had horrible everything. More things wrong with the game are there missing great moves like the Mexican stretch buster and the five star frog splash that hit's your enemy so hard that it leave's them weaker that anyone. An the whole build your wrestler thing after he's done and u use him and u get points for him u can't use tem in smackdown there's no worry for that so u have great move's and greater graphics. The whole thing about saying your name for created wrestler that still needs work on both. Also the whole thing about how u can't get your popularity raised if you verse someone out of the ring is just horrible. An the thing about the ladder matches is just stupid that u have so press so many dam buttons I also think that the absences of the elimination chamber is the lowest this game sank. An the way the u don't see the belt went u are the champ in the entrance is a total set back from the more advanced smackdown sym. I do think that the way thq is handling the x-box and gamecube games are like if they are just sugar-coating the game. I Think this because it’s just a like more advanced version of the wwf’s old war zone or wwf in your house which was good at the time but that was in like 96’ and 97’ we need to move on and step up and so does thq. | Raw 2 is a good game... But I have found some glitches. | | A gamer from North Carlonia, USA says (18/Sep/2003): | Raw 2, good graphics, awesome moves, awesome story mode. Awesome variety of matches, alot of new stuff to the wrestling video game era. I have found some glitches:
Cheap Computer: Staying down on every move was really realistic, unfortuantely, occasionally the computer will kick you and pin you, and you wont get up right away after the kick out. And he will kick you and pin you over and over again for about 2 minutes until he wins. I've found it to be quite annoying.
Interference is completely screwed up: When your enemy interferes to make YOU lose, he beats up your opponent and its almost like he is your ally.
Freezing: The game freezes about 2-3 times per day while its loading.
Occasional Title Glitch: One time I was in a title match, and my enemy interfered... after he got out, I beat the champion and won. After the match, the game gave the title to the enemy that had interfered in the match.
Slight Focus Glitch: Occasionally your character will focus on the referee for no reason, and itsh ard to focus back on your opponent.
The refs BLOW: all but one of the refs count as slow as crap. IN the season mode in the 10 minutes, its hard to get a win by pinfall within the 10 minute period, even after about 5 finishers.
Players Sumbit too easy: If you beat your opponent down with punches and kicks for about 30 seconds and only do one or 2 moves, it only takes 2 submissions before the guy taps out. It's really cheap.
One Last Thing: All the things you can do in season are awesome. Unfortunately, the cooler features only work 1 out of 10 times.
But apart from those glitches, (and few ohter minor ones)
The game is really good. I hope to see some of these glitches removed in future raw titles, if raw decides to pull a smackdown and release 20 games.

Well, first off, Raw 2 is a hell of alot better than what Acclame {Spelling please?) came up with. I mean those games back then for the 64 just blew goats until the cows came home, and then they blew the cows!!!!! Now when THQ and AKI came into the WWF/WWE Contract of making games..now those were games!!! The CAW was the best out there, you could choose tattoos of real wrestlers which I found cool. I mean, what if you wanted your wrestler to idolize Taker? You could use his Tattoos!!!! Nooo, now they don't allow such things in the new games. That sucks if you ask me. I admit Raw 2 is a hell of a lot better than Raw 1, but think of this. In raw 1 when someone ran down at YOU, they ATTACKED YOU! not the opponent who they probably don't hate. That part I found about as stupid as a pet rock. The graphics are okay, but what is the deal with THQ only allowing the Smackdown! Games to allow realistic hair movement? I mean, who in the hell in wrestling actually hair their hair stuck to their neck?! The whole pinning over and over thing gets annoying. Makes me want to go out and smack the THQ game developers right upside the head and take over. The whole story mode deal wasn't a bad effort, but what is the fun of beating someone up back stage if you can only tackle them and kick/punch them? Where are the suplexes and DDTs back stage? ( A little helpful hint to THQ for RAW 3) and why in the blue hell did THQ scrap the back stage brawling that was promised for Raw 2? Did you all fall asleep at the keyboard? Well, that is enough of my ranting and complaints about the game. If you are wondering why I gave this game a seven for score...thats because, its grappling system is better than anything I've played since NO MERCY. ( I Missed my 64 btw)

In my opinion, it is the second best wwe/wwf game.(wwf no mercy is #1!!!) It had awesome graphics, great matches, realistic scenarios, and great cas, HBK AND KANE ARE ON THERE, AND THE CUSTOM SOUNDTRAKTS ARE GREAT. It also missed alot of stuff! The sound wasn't too good, Scoot Steiner and Golberg shouldn't have been on the cover( HBK and Kane should take their place), no elimanation chamber, you can't go back stage and fight normally, JR AND KING AREN'T ON THERE !, IT TAKES 4EVER TO GET A SHOT AT THE TITLES, TLC AND LADDER MATCHES SUXS, THERE AREN'T MANY CHARACTERS TO UNLOCK, IT'S VERY HARD TO GET A SUPERSTAR TO BE YOUR MANAGER, AND IT'S A SHAME THAT YOU CAN'T KNOCK E. It has a few down falls. Like the fact that there aren't announcers, and your the characters don't speak and kane has his mask on but his video has it off, and the fact that goldberg was even put in the game. The game is awesome as far a match type like HIAC and tlc, table, and ladder. The create a superstar is better and it has better pyro effects. The graphics are much improved and it has a bunch fo awesome moves. except the fact that you can't do a swanton bomb over the rope, or do a suicide dive through the ropes, oh yea and spike dudley's famous flyind headbutt, but the matches are awesome and the wrestlers are not so "fast pased" like in smackdown, and it's more realistic. I hate that there isn't any blood and no elimination chamber, but thq had a set date for the game and making a elimination chamber would add a few months. I love that you can rip your own music for entrances that's a great detail and the halfway custamizable titantron video is awesome, i hated coming out with someone like big show or someone else on my entrance video. Oh yea and the only other problem is that when your in a match your enemy's interfere and attack your opponent, and you can't turn off interference, and when they do interfere it's a pain in the ass especially when you want to put someone through the announcer table and someone keeps messing you up, oh yea and you can't change the time for season mode so all matches are 10 min. from what i can tell any way. All in all I give this game a 10. It's the best game for Xbox, until The Next Halo, or Halo 2 (not sure what they're gunna call it)

I may be undefeated champion, undisputed champion, but Raw 2 is still not too good. While you can choose your own soundtracks for your character for his entrance screen, you can't have more than two pyros. Video isn't the best too, it's either the existing superstars' entrance video, raw, or original, but with original, you can choose few moves and three lines of text. Graphics are good, but it's glitched. If I punch a guy on the ring, when he's trying to get off, he'll fall, and his legs and stomache will be under the mat. I need blood matches, and Ladder matches are very hard to do. I need interference from my enemies to prevent my opponent from getting the belt. You can grab the belt when the clock reaches 9:00 minutes and it won't take you that long, you'll have the belt under a minute. That is for season mode only. Gameplay isn't too interesting, but Creating Superstars can be fun. My created superstar is the undisputed champion, never lost a match, but just tied sometimes. Sometimes interference is annoying and not helpful while it is in ladder match or non-title one on one normal match with count out. I do tournament matches and Battle Royal more than season. I created a lot of characters, including Jeff Hardy, but it's not entirely like him. Good thing there's still Swanton Bomb. I'm the best WWE Raw 2 wrestler, and the number one. Too bad Jeff Hardy isn't on there, and more people too, such as Mick Foley. This is not great game, but still good enough. I'm one of the best man, Viva La Raza! Also, this game was created a year ago, before Kane took of his mask, I think?

The graphics, the season mode, the create-a-superstar mode and also the gameplay of this game were successful in part from THQ. Since I also have PS2, and Gamecube and for those consoles I also bought XIX and Smackdown HTCP. Those games are also very great and they rival Raw 2 pretty good. Both have good features.
The first thing we need to see in Raw 2 is that they started making it a yeat ago so people might have complaints about the things that are not up-to-date. This is one of the things THQ had to look over but I don't blame them, they might have had to change the whole configuaration of the game to do that. Another big thing that is not acceptable is the A1 in this game. I can fully say that it sucks like s***. I try to ignore it but its stupidity is just alarming. Thq has to be told to think about the A1. Although it is not a big thing overall but in a normal brawl it can be annoying.
The last thing that I don't like about this game is that you cannot toggle the main controls of this game for example you can't turn off give up and turn on ko and stuff like disqualification. It may not bother many people but it bothers me.
Overall I think this game is one of the best wrestling games of all, competing the old No Mercy for N64. THe rating for this game over HCTP and XIX i think that this game Equals XIX because of many of the good features both of them have in them. But in no offence to any people who like Raw2 or XIX I think that Smackdown 5 Here Comes The Pain is the game that is a wrestling lovers dream. It is the best game for WWE that ever happened to PS2 and everthing else.
