This Game Rules, Oh it's true, it's true | | D. Houston from Pomona, CA, USA says (18/Sep/2003): | For those who had to live with the burden of the first Raw should really get a kick out of this game. The graphics are much improved on it for the first part, and the wrestlers look more up to scale with the wrestlers on TV. I also appreciated that they improved on the CAW option which was frustrating to work on with Raw I. It was just too annoying to figure out with all of the options they had for the wrestlers. Being able to edit the wrestlers on the game was great just in case I wanted someone like the Rock decides to incorporate a powerbomb into his arsenal. Speakiing of CAW the option of using downloaded music from the Xbox onto the wrestler intros was a great idea. I'm trying to look for the WWE anthology CD to help make some of the old school wrestlers and use them to compete with the current ones. The Royal Rumble is improved on this one. Now you can throw someone over the top rope unlike the last one where you had to pin to eliminate the wrestler. Hell in the Cell was a nice feature as well as adding the ladder match option. The game is good enough to keep you going until you can exploit every feature on it. My only gripe is about the freakn referees. Too freakn slow in my opinion. I can do two rock bottoms or about four F5's and the ref is doing a slow motion 3 count. It's just too annoying in my opinion that I did a lot of work only to be screwed by earl hebner of all people.other than that,everything else was great. The sound was good,the controls were easy to handle, and I'm enjoying the season format. And on a personal note, since I got the game, I have spent two days playing it non-stop. I'll probably stop if they make a Raw 3
| Good, but could be better | | MoCon from Sacramento, California, USA says (22/Mar/2005): | RAW 2 is a really good game. I would say that the most outstanding feature of it is the graphics. Also the finishing moves aren't all revolved around the Smackdown finishers. Like The Rock's Rock Bottom on this game is different from all of the Smackdown games. Somethings that would have made it better are as follows: Updated themes and videos ( Kane has a mask in the game, but his video has him unmasked and his song is his old one ), tagteams with their own entrances ( Like the Dudleyz, They share the same regular tag team entrance with every other tag team on the game ), Someone supply downloadable updates for the game ( Like supplying videos and theme songs to be used when wrestlers change their stuff ), commentary, voice overs, and last but not least, create-a-move. I'd love to see a wrestling game with create-a-move. They could've made it where the wrestler can do a created move based on their attributes and abilities, like Rey Mysterio could do created high flying moves and Kane could do created power moves. You could copy tracks to use on the game, so those tracks could be updated songs for the wrestlers ( I did it with Edge, Kane, Eddie Guerrero, Evolution, and so on ). Also, the create a player is cool. The game has many features in create a player, I kind of wish that what the call for the wrestlers were had more choices including old wrestlers, like Razor Ramon or Lex Luger, or even WCW names. And it's hard to make a wrestler the right size. You have to often put your guy in matches against wrestlers of different sizes like Big Show, Spike Dudley, and The Rock just to know the right size. But other wise, this game is cool.

well I've played every wrestling game even the one for super nintendo And I have to say wwe raw 2 is the bigist BOMB oute of them all.
accept sorry to say but after 2,3,4,months it got so borring i couldent breath but now it's fun again.
and to be honest thats what i like the game is it gets boaring then you don't play it for 2,3,4,A month and youre back at it again.

RAW2 is one of the best wrestling games on the market today. Granted there are a lot of things missing but when you got a couple of friends over (if you have them) you tend to forget about all that stuff, and thats exactly what THQ was aiming for. A game to play with your buddies and have fun with. I would also like to say to those of you who are complaining about the lack of story in the season mode. Get it. Season mode. Not story mode like the smackdown games. THQ also did a good job making the SEASON mode which they aimed for. Come on whats better then making up your own story to follow! Season mode allows you to do that.(in your own mind that is) And thats all part of the fun. I personally think that it sucks when you have to follow a story line prefabricated by Vince McMahon and his team of writers. Most of the time a story mode just rehashes crap I've already seen on TV. Now I'll give a list of the pros and cons of this game in my own opinion.

This game was one of the worst attempts at a wrestling game that I have ever had the misfortune of Buying, Playing, and Trading in. This game had great character models, but that was the only thing great about it. WWE Raw had a story mode with absolutely no story in sight. The Create A Player had only one elbow pad.
!!!!!!ONE!!!!!!!!!. The gameplay was dominated by striking moves. What wrestling match is dominateed by striking moves? It doesn't make sense to be able to break up a finishing move with a punch.
WWE Raw 2 fixed all of the problems except for the biggest and most irritating one. That weak ass game play is back. A close friend of mine bought the game the day it came out. We played it together. I had Hollywood Hogan in a Armageddon match. I was putting my finishing move on Batista, when Kevin Nash breaks it up, in the middle of it, with a punch. That single act by Kevin Nash made me realize no matter how many match types they add, no matter how many new characters are added, this game still sucks in the worst way.
The only reason I didn't give it a 1 is I had som fun playing it with my friend at first. Now Raw 2 is a game that adds many features that were previuosly missing in some great wrestling titles, but that doesn't matter if you are struggling with such an $#< remove me > at ! backwards gameplay. I will say it was a big, and pleasant surprise to see the charecters moving on the screen that shows the match participants. Besides that I am still pissed off that I wasted my time Playing this game.

before it was released seeing that they actually had put more match types,more arenas,season mode and what i thought by the screenshots better graphics. before the game came out the screenshots of rey mysterio looked like rey mysterio, what happened now he looks like a generic create-a-wrestler. here is a list of things that do not make any sense.
1. kurt angle wearing a team angle jacket but there is no team angle
2. kane has a mask but not in the titantron plus his music is still the old version
3. in raw triple h was the main one that they got wrong in raw 2 he's the only one they got right
4. generic forms of music(victoria,rob van dam, etc.)
5. you try to run up the stage and you hit an invisible wall
6. with six guys in the ring gameplay gets as sluggish as an old computer.
7. and what is the deal with nidia's lips MY GOD!!!(that's a huge *%&#!)
8. wrestler's skin shine like a new model car.
9. where is los guerros actual entrance(lie,cheat,steal and the lowrider)
this game should be called raw 1 cause this is what it should have looked like the ONLY good thing about this game is more wrestlers(not all, not even close) just a suggestion but the next time you make a wrestling game you might try doing more research than renting a two year old wrestlemania tape at the video store. ( thank god for ps2)here comes the pain and belive me raw 2 hurts.

I like the attire where you can change Christian's short hair and 2003 attire to Christian's long blonde hair and 2002 attire. Even if you can't bleed in the game or no Commontary WWE RAW 2 is a great game.

-Its missing the 60 ironman, elimination, 8 man tag team, bras and panties matches, ect.
-Its missing the US, Intercontinental and Harcore championships.
-AS everyone has mentioned Kane has his mask and his intro video dosent.
-You cant unlock old school wrestlers like Bret and Owen Hart.
-The season mode sux. It has no story line. Every single season you do the exact same thing over and over again.And in season the matches are unrealistic.
-U can only have a very little
amount of teams in creat a team.
-Their are several missing superstars like orlando jordan, sable and scotty 2 hotty.
- Rey mysterio and John Cena cant do their finishing moves the 619 and the FU.
- the computer will pin over and over until you have to quit.
- And my most hated thing...
The Ladder and TLC matches. Its practicly impossible to get the belt. And then in season u sometimes have to defend your titles (which by the way are very hard to get) in a Ladder match. I find that very unfair.
But of course their are the good things.
-I love the creat a superstar mode, you can personalize everything and their entrances are like watchin live wrestlin.
-I love the superstars and their moves.
-I like the matches like royal rumble and hell in a cell
-I also like the tag team matches
-And the graphics are ok to.
All in all i like the game but i in RAW 3 they fix all the things i have mentioned. Good luck Anchor. Im out like Booker T vs John cena 4 the US Championship.

Although it may not be the best (by a long shot) it does have some perks. The one thing that I am really complaining about is the emphasis they tried to put on graphics. I have an Atari wrestling game that has the worst graphics ever, but it's still fun to play. Who cares about graphics, and who cares about music, who cares about the videos. The only thing that will keep avid gamers into it is game play. The controls suck, the tag team in series mode is horrible (only because your partner breaks up the pin for some reason) and the game is way to easy. In the first RAW installment, I found it tricky and not to mention boring, due to the difficulty level. In RAW 2, it is way to easy. The more powerful characters, such as Triple H, tap out within the first two minutes. This lack of challenge makes this a weak game. Some of the aspects of the old games have been lost too, such as the Smack Down mall from No Mercy, and collecting all that crap in WWF Raw. It’s the side things that make the games more fun. The create a wrestler mode is entertaining, but after a few hours you get bored and turn it off. This is where the Smack Down mall would keep you interested in the game. One of the only things I really like about the game is being able to have rivalries and get one of the Wrestling chicks to be your manager…unless it’s Jazz or something, that would just suck. In my opinion they should have just copied WWF NO MERCY for the N64.

When Smackdown 5 comes out i think that even though it is newer it will still have a hard time to beat Raw 2. I am not picking sides here because i own both a PS2 and an X-Box so i can play on both games. But Raw 2 has it all. The graphics live up to what everyone would expect to see on an X-box, The season is excellent such as when you can surprise attck or set a trap etc. The matches are excellent such as the Hell in the Cell not only can you knock them out when you knock them off the cell but you can put them through four different places. Unlike smackdown 4 where they went through one section and you didn't even get to see the whole move you saw half of it, next thing you know you're hanging from the cell getting beck in th e ring?!?! The Create a Superstar is what i liked most though on Raw 2 because you had everything you wanted. You could combine up to 4 callnames and say where you came from. The entrances are without a doubt the best thing ever on the game though. Such as having music from your x-box hard drive, choosing your Pyros with starting times, the entrance lights and my favourite feature was the fact that you could put words on the titantron with your created superstar performing a wrestling move. The roster on this game is also very up to date. Sure you don't have an eliminatiopn chamber but i'm okay with that because all the other matches are great enough. This game easily deserves a 10/10 score.

I haven't played SD:HCTP, but I have played SYM, and RAW 2 surpasses the SmackDown series by leaps and bounds. The graphics rule, the Create a Superstar and Create a Team mdes rock, and season is pretty cool too. Overall the game is well done, and a vast improvement on RAW 1.
SEASON
The season mode is well done, and due to the undefined nature of the matches is a great challenge, even if the WWE and World Titles change hands once or twice a month, which seems unrealistic, and hard to get the title shot when you want it.
EXHIBITION
The exhibition mode is cool, with some fun match types. Some are missing, which I have listed below, but the rest are good, except anytime you try to grab the belt in ladder and TLC matches.
CREATE A SUPERSTAR
The hundreds of parts in the CAS mode are amazing, and make it hard to create two identical superstars (unless you go to clone.) In RAW 1, there were only around 50 different things, making it too easy to make two guys the same.

- Matches such as Elimination Chamber, Casket, Ambulance, Bra and Panties, Survivor Tag etc.
- Create your own moves, entrance moves and taunts
- Intercontinental, European, and US Titles

The gameplay is just as bad as the original RAW yet they managed to %$#! it up even more than before. The hell in a cell is lame, although falling through is decent. The graphics look like crap all the time and they're still missing half the themes.
The only good things in this game are:
1. Completely custom intros for CAWs (right down to timing pyros)
2. Options available during season mode
3. It's not Super Wrestlemania
That's about all there is good about the game. The engine is complete #$%< remove me > at , the graphics are pitiful, the AI is non-existant, the weapons suck, the moves are poorly animated, where the hell is the F-U?, why does Rey Mysterio look like %$#< remove me > at ?, why can't ANYONE get the timings right for Kane and RVD's entrances?, and just why the hell did I ever believe that THQ would make a good wrestling game for any system except PS2?

Video games are going to hell in a handbasket. Too many stupid people allowing stupid, bad games get produced, and too many idiots buying them and thinking they're the greatest things since sliced bread (another evil contraption, that rules out freak breadknife accidents from the survival of the fittest right there).
Stop making such bad games and make more good ones like Halo and Star Wars: KOTOR.

I have never played a Raw game before cause i jus transfered from PS2 to XBox. And honestly this game makes me wanna go back to PS2 for Smackdown Here Comes the Pain. Raw to have some pros, such as the graphics, SOME features in Season, an the creating entrances. Other than a few pros in season mose it was boring, went by to fast, an sucked!! Also create a player mode sucks!! You dont have near as many features to add to ur character as you get on Smackdown, ect. piercings, tatoos, facial hair, multiple sets of clothing, instead of 1 upper body item an 1 lower! The sound was OK, i would prefer to hear some action from Jr an King, or even Al Snow an Coach. Honestly i love to see my characters entrance, after i win a title, so i can watch my character walk out with a title around his waste. Raw 2 didnt give me that. After winning that tag titles my guys hugged!!! Common now and it was wit Kane, you think Kane is gonna give a hug after winning a match!! Also i went throught a long process of being nice to a lady so she will eventually become my mananger, an when she said she would she never escorted me to the ring!! Common managers always comin to the ring wit there wrestler. Other than the few pros, then game had a ton of dis-likes. Overall this game gets a 2 an i will never play it again!! Hopefully Raw 3 will keep me from goin back to PS' Smackdown
| wwe raw 2 is awesome | | Tim Hewlett from gold coast, queensland, Australia says (16/Oct/2003): | I think wwe raw 2 is the best wrestling game ever because it has the best entrances and the gameplay is really good.Whoever doesn't like the game is not a true wwe fan because no wwe fan will ever turn down a game like raw 2.it is a bit disappointing that there is no blood or elimination chamber but without it the game still rocks.for u people out there who have enough desance to try out the game and actually liked it and will play it again i will give u a few tips.to get evolution u have to go to create a team,then select a three-man team,select HHH ric flair and then randy orton,make the titantron HHH and the music to randy orton that is the real (evolution theme) put all entrance lights to flash and make the two titantron colours alternate back and forth,same as in the ring lights,make the team name evolution and make shore that there entrance moves are man man man and not man woman woman etc. to unlock the pants song u have to steel from lita three times in career mode, to unlock mick foley u have to complete career mode for five years. to unlock everyones theme song and titantron video in theatre mode u have to steel from that same person three times and u will unlock it. thank u for listening to my review and i hope all u true fans of wwe will play the best t.v. show';s video game in the whole wide world RAW 2 RUTHLESS AGGRESSION by tim hewlett australia australias #1 wwe fan!

| WWE Raw 2. | | PrOfEsSeR from Tararua, New Zealand says (31/Dec/2004): | As a first time player its hard to explain the 1st thing that goes on in your head. To everybody that thinks about buying this game well i warn you when you 1st buy the game you will notice the awesome graphics on the back of the case. The 1st time you play the game you will think that the fun will never end but after a week of playing you will find this game at the top of your pile to trade in, unless you have a creative mind like myself you can edit superstars attires. The thing i dont understand is how to get tattoos on my created superstar, for example i created myself and wanted the undertakers tatoo but all i could get was a random tattoo that ive never seen on any wrestler. Now just to drop a few hints to THQ and any other organisation involved in the new game is how bout we have create a titantron like have special scenes like the rock has on his titantron when the city highway passes underneath the helecopter and the big name flashes up in different fonts!!!
Missing from Raw 2 is the ability to edit hair on original superstars, WWF No mercy for 64 was the best for interactivity with original superstars, if WWE Wrestlemania 21 if you could see what hhh's head number is or the type of hair the rock has- this would not only increase the value of creativity in the game but also add long value to the life time of the game!!!!!

RAW 2 would definetly be the best game out if it had: Jeff Hardy, King & J.R., blood, Kane without the mask, backstage mathces as well as in the crowd, and good matches like Elimination Chamber and Bra and Panties and Inferno match. The CAS is excellent and you can also create a team. Plus in season mode, you can change who people cheer and boo. The graphics are great, but its hard to win ladd &TLC matches. The computer reverses easily, but also lose easily. I put updated tracks of wrestlers like RKO and evolution and the undertaker, and also tracks of wrestlers who arent on the game that I created like Shelton Benjamin or Carlito Carribean Cool. A game wuth this kind of graphics should have a create a move section, which would be totally awesome and kick every other wrestling games behind. I enjoy playing RAW 2 because I've created such wrestlers as Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, current wrestlers who arent on the game, and cartoon characters like Iron Man, Hulk, and some guy named PANDAMASTER, and the ring announcers can give a select amount of call names for them to be called by when coming to the ring.I think mine forgot some of the calls it had. I knew it said RAZOR RAMON, but now I cant find it. NE->, RAW 2 can easily be debated as the best wrestling game out

| should have been waaaaaay better | | A gamer from California, USA says (29/Sep/2003): | as a wrestling game it is pretty good in itself. the features and the characters have a lot to be desired though. the one thing i have a huge problem with is the lack of current wwe superstars to choose from. they have chuck palumbo with his fbi music but there's no johnny stamboli or nunzio? you have guys that arent with the company anymore like hogan, well then why is there no jeff hardy? you have chris nowinski but no maven? they have bradshaw but no farooq? it just makes no sense why you would have these guys and not others. they are missing huge stars like shelton benjamin, charlie haas, rodney mack, rosey, zach gowen, spanky, eric bischoff, & shane mcmahon. it makes absolutley no sense!!!!!!!! there are also not enough match types and you cant even fight up the ramp. there are empty announce tables (no announcers at all) and why does kane have a mask in the game but not on his titantron video? the create mode is decent, not much of an improvement from the first raw as far as i'm concerned. this game has an enormous amount of flaws to it. i am a big fan of both video games and wrestling, i just wish the game makers out there had some idea as to how to incorporarte the two. (just a side note, wwe doesnt even advertise for this game on tv, all its ads are for wrestlemania on gamecube, they must know the game's wak too)

and has better AI in my opinion of course smackdown has better move sets and a more updated roster RAW 2 season is fair to me but i think it can be a waste of time because u really cant have a storyline smackdown 5 has a good storyline but raw 2 needs a better storyline in my opinion. another thing is raw 2 has an awesome entrance selection for created wrestlers of course smackdown5 has a better wrestling creation dont get me wrong Raw 2 has a good creatation. The ladder match is diffucult because because i knock my opponent down get the ladder set up climb and hang and by the time i have a second to take it down that idiot gets up and pulls me down its like u need a glitch to win.the hell in a cell is cool i like slammin ppl through of course who doesnt. hardcore is my concern u cant go bckstage hell u cant go up the stage at least in RAW 1 u can go upstage all im sayin is u shold be able to go backstage.I think this game should have an elimination chamber.what else...street fight is decent cage is alot better than the one in smackdown 5 table is neat.the entrances is awesome although the edited entrances are gay.the pyro is pretty cool.the arenas are pretty cool. the match intro at the beginning is better than smackdown5 at least it shaows the real thing
| it was sweet as hek, when i got it and it is still | | A gamer from detriot michigan says (2/Oct/2004): | raw2 is sweet but the onyl thing that was not was is when u press r and he or her looks at the crowd and u walk trowds the crowd u can not go in to the crowd and now why would they even have look at the cowrd and u cant go in it and they and they should have had jr and the king in the back at the anowser table and they need to put the back they anowser table how it looks on real wrestlesing and they should let u figth jr and king then when u figth them they figth back and when u hurt them real bad the permadics out and take them to the hospitle and they come back when the macth is over and make them bleed and story needs mprovement what i mean by that is like let us control them not the computer let us see them walk and control them like u can walk around and pick up weapons in story mode we can walk in to other wreslers looker rooms and bet them with wepons and. and we can talk to them and be there promblom sover if the will let us and we can go in to the crowd to go in to the ring and. and like it will be surcurity gards at erick bishoof oofice if he told u to live the bulding u can sneek back in to the bulding but first u have will have to bet have to fitgh sucurity gards and then take revenge on him and u can come up on hardcore champion and then a ref will come soon as u start to bet the hardcore chapion up.
