Disappointed43642

Walnutboy from Sheffield, England says (17/Dec/2004):
Has anyone mentioned how poor the ending was on this game? There I was just getting into the build up to a huge ending, and that was it - finished! What a complete and utter let down. Did Bungie run out of time with this game, and think 'Well, we'll just finish it there, that'll do'. Crap crap crap ending. Yes, it did leave it open for the third episode, but someone ought to teach them how to write a cliffhanger.
Apart from that it was not much different to the original. Yes, the dual wield was ok, but certainly nothing new, and what happened to all the exciting new weapons and vehicles. And playing the game on earth - yes for all of about ten minutes. The rest could have been straight out of the original. And what is the flood all about - absolutely pointless. Can Bungie try and bring some new enemies into the game, instead of just fobbing us off with the old ones.
Yes, I did enjoy playing as an elite, and yes it was different to the first, but come on! There was so much opportunity to make more out of this than they actually have. We want more from a sequel. Not at all what I was expecting

AWESOME!43628

Face Seraphim from Kingsport, TN says (16/Dec/2004):
Halo 2 is by far the best game that has come out for the XBox. I can't believe how far Bungie has come over the years. The graphics were top notch, far better than anything I've seen on the Playstation 2. The soundtrack, which I bought this weekend blew me away. I loved it during gameplay, but try driving down the road while playing some H2 tracks. Its so invigorating. Playing the game on Legendary was amazing. It was by far one of the most insane things I have ever done. Try beating a couple of elites with only two pistols and an SMG at your disposal. The odds make things seem virtually impossible. Especially when the enemy has % accuracy. The only part of single player that I was upset with was the ending. The storyline was actually very interesting with some great cinematics, but the end was slightly abrupt. I enjoyed it, but for poor people like me its best the get the entire story in just one game. I mean, wouldn't that be better? Gameplay online is actually interesting. Snipe one minute then jump off a perch and slam someone in the back with your rifle while sustaining literally no fall damage. The only thing that I was disappointed with during multiplayer were my opponents. How awesome is that? How can you compete with a game this amazing? I'll be waiting for H3 and saluting Bungie all the way!

Halo 3 Better Be Good43620

A gamer from Pittsford New York United States says (15/Dec/2004):
Now to begin I would like to have it known that I am not trying to bash the game or promote it. Ill tell you what I saw and you can decide. In the beginning of the game I was amazed by the stunning graphics, yes. But not as stunned as I had initially thought, I expected to be able to feel like I had 20/20 vision throughout this game, if not better, able to pick out every detail of a reflection in the water, or a ship coming in to land. Instead it was only a slight improvement on the first. Then comes the gameplay, spectacular, you would think that adding a new gun would have made controlls insanely hard, but in fact they were fairly simple, though they did take some getting used to. I was particularly fond of their introduction of the new enemies such as the brutes and whatever they called those huge flying robots. I was also pleased that the enemies were slightly harder to kill forcing you to use strategy, even if you were truely packing. However towards the end I began to realize that the hunters may have become much too hard to kill in this game (they cover up those orange spots pretty well). Then comes the ending, to me it was a let down only because it was too short. It was no worse than the second matrix. Overall, the gameplay improved but the storyline being split may have been distracting.

listen you dorks Halo 2 is the best!43539

Ethan Hampton from Australia says (8/Dec/2004):
listen halo 1 and 2 are the best game in history so just listen. all you freaks who think that halo 1 or 2 is crap think again it is the best game in history so go back and play it and you will find you are wrong just cause you hate it you have to make everyone else hate it so stop being nerds or dorks be serious and look at that game once more. STUPID DORKS !!!!!!!
and i am going to say how cool are those new guns and vehicles
and even better you get to fight along side with hunters in the last level along with grunts, elites and humans. here is a handy tip when you see a bunch of covenent and flood that looks formidablelet them fight it out then you will just kill the remainder and walk on. another handy tip on halo 1 the level were you are fighting your way across a bridge grab a banshee and fly down there it cuts the whole level short.heres a kind of cheat on the level where you are in a covenant ship and the flood are trying to take over well you have to fall through a hole leading to a pool of slime if you want to get over the hole throw a plasma grenade on the ground time 3 seconds and jump you will go flying over to find some elites other than that not much.

What The Fukdiddlyduck did u guys do????43519

Anthony from Beville, Texas, USA says (6/Dec/2004):
Omg I was so excited to have gotten halo 2... I read the boklet about all the things in it. It took me almost 3 hours to get home from the video game store. I played it thinking omg this is so freakin' cool! then the covenant part came in... I was hopeful thinking alright this seems cool. Then I played them all of the time for 10 mins each... I beat Normal in 2 hours... WHAT THE HELLS WITH THAT? I WOULD NOT BUY THIS GAME IF I DID NOT HAVE XBOX LIVE!!! IT SUCKS WITHOUT SOMEONE TO PLAY WITH. Bungie I worshiped you... I'm angry that you would do this to your fans. Anyways to waist the 200 words Ill tell you about all the flaws.

I started it off inside of the base hmm familiar. Then our pod crashes even more familiar. Last thing that ticked me off was the fact that I killed everything in one shot with the battle rifle. Talk about head shots. Dual weilding was pretty enjoyable but what i really loved was the sword. The only problem with the sword is that sometimes you miss, MISS? HOW DO YOU MISS WITH A HUGE SWORD. BUT THE THING THAT REALLY TICKED ME OFF WAS THAT THE LASER SWORD DID NOT KILL THE HUNTER IF YOU HIT HIM IN THE BACK IT DID NOT KILL HIM IN ONE HIT!!! ok Everything else is good expecially multiplayer multiplaer is beast! Ok its a good game for multiplayer u dont have friends that get drunk every weekend and come over or if you dont have xbox live dont get this game. Unless ur a great fan like me.

Ah...43527

Plue says (6/Dec/2004):
Overall,I found myself dissapointed with this game.Sure it was really good, but not worth that long wait and the anticipation.I found it funner than the original because the more realistic explosions...stuff breaks like glass, and its fun when your playing cooperative and a damaged ghost suddenly blows up on your buddy. The story line had some interesting features, like a covenant civil war...but i found that the story revolved around the covenant too much. The Halo theme is "combat evolved",basicly, futuristic military combat.Halo 1 captured this pretty well, you are trying to survive from covenant forces on the Halo and unlock its secrets. But halo 2,seemed more like "alien ritualistic wars". When I think of Halo 2 i instantly think "covenant".Sure playing as an elite is fun,but i think the story is too based apon the brutes and the covenant civil war.Id rather just pump them full of lead...anyway,another thing that dissapointed me is that there is a ton of new covenant stuff, but there are no new human vehicles,it was so unrealistic to be on planet Earth and only have 2 usuable human vehicles. And while im on that,i expected earth city to be a bit more dynamic than that with office buildings and beautiful parks, but it just looked like futuristic Iraq.Plus i dont think the game explains things well, what people dont realize,in one part of the game you are in the covenants mothership, wich contains their city. You can only tell by looking at it in some cut scenes out in space...And the flood came from no where, just one level they magicly appear and you dont know where they came from.I loved the graphics and the gameplay.I was dissapointed however with some things i saw of concept art and 3d renders.Such as those covenant bus-like things, they were so cool,1 driver,1 gunner, and 8 passengers. But i only saw them once in the game and there were 2.Instead of having the 8 seats they had ghosts, not very exciting. Also the heavily armored marines i only saw in one level.Overall the game seemed to have some holes in it.A friend of mine told me that bunjie was going to work on it longer but they had to cut it short because of the anticipation of fans. Before i end my review i want to say the multiplayer is great but the campaign mode is "ehh".As for music,Some very nice electric guitar stuff, but i only heard it once at the credits...but i really miss the original halo battle music, without it the game lost a lot of "haloness".

Wut Up halo2 pros and cons.43527

Riley from Henderson Ville North Caralina says (5/Dec/2004):
Alright first of all i thought halo was an awsome game im mean it rocked. The warthog was always my fav vehicle iloved how fast it was and how it turned and stuff the gun on the back was awsome and made it unike and last of all the pros about the old warthog you stayed in first person view in the passenger seat. Pros on new warthog powerslide is cool. The gause cannon rocks and they didn't change the chain gun much. Cons about the new warthog it can be destroyed its seemes slower and doesn't turn right. Not to minchen if you did home work on halo 2 before it ever came out they didn't put in all the varriants of the warthog. Like the snow one its not there or the camo one not there. The main reason i liked Halo was because of the warthog. Another con about Halo 2 the ai was suppose to smarter but when they drive you around in the warthog you find your self falling form a cliff. And if you watch you merines or covies they run around in the same paths all the time the enemies don't do rogue missions or any thing. I think the ai is actually dumber. Oh and never give them a rocket launcher they will either kill themselfs and the other marines or you.
More pros. I thought the new banshee was pritty cool, like how it blows apart and the wing things blow off its cool. The new ghosts are sweet with their over drive or whatever. And how they blow apart. The new character models are cool. And the multiplayer mod is better than the old one.
A few more cons. The biggist thing i hate about. Is how much home work I did on the game before it came out. They were going to put so much new stuff in it and have some better character skins o well its still my favorite game at the moment.
One more pro and i'm done. The graphics rock the lighting is so sweet and every thing looks ten time better then halo 1.se ya

Not bad could have been better43486

A gamer says (4/Dec/2004):
Halo 2 wasn't bad but it could have been better. One thing i didn't like was that the game ends in the middle of the story. Another thing is that duel-wielding is kinda cool but its kinda old to. I wish i could play it on xbox live but its not working write. How come you never really learn what the flood is? Now one thing that really pissed me off was that halo 3 would be on xbox 2 ( Microsoft & bungie are trying to get us to pat more money). I heard that halo 3 was actually the second half to halo 2 because they could't fit it all on one disc so they split it in to 2 games to get more money. honestly i expected alot more. Now i haven't played online yet. What they should have done to make it better was add more levels and make it harder. And more levels as master chief. And the batle rifle was anoying to me why didn't they just make it an autimatic instead of a burst. And they should go back to the old life meter so you dont die from 2 shots cuz in halo won you could take a hit but the new meter is ridiculus i mean sure it has better shields but c'mon. They should put it back to the old way and make the shields better. and before i finish why didn't the make you able to use the jackals shield in duel wields( the trigger lets the shield block you when you push the trigger. see ya

Halo 2 is nothing but a beta test for Halo 343489

Jason from Gaithersburg,MD says (4/Dec/2004):
Halo 2 is an awesome game! Despite the fact that the storyline was almost exactly similar to Halo 1. They did upgrade a few items like dual-wield and the ability to jack peoples vehicles. But that is pretty much it. They spiced up the multiplayer gaming but they made it so big that you will only find someone like 2 minutes later. The only thing that why the storyline for Halo 2 didn`t stink is the kick-ass Arbiter you play as.As from the people who gave Halo 2 a horrible score is because you guys got PS2 first and already think that PS2 is the best system so you have no right to say that you only got xbox for that game only.So you can kiss my ass for all I care because I dont give a damn if PS2 is greater. Anyways I feel that Halo 2 was just a taste of what Halo 3 will be. I guarantee you that Halo 3 will have better and longer story line, more playable multiplayer maps. More vehicles and different versions of the same thing. And who knows maybe the graphics will be unreal engine powered like in splinter cell. But thats just my point of view. Xbox rules!

very good game, could be better43461

Archangel from montgomery, alabama says (2/Dec/2004):
I don't know why everyone is getting so worked up about this game. It seems that there are only two types of people who play Halo 2: those who absolutely love it and think its the best game ever, or those who curse Bungie as if they were the antichrist for what they call an "abomination". There is a middle ground here people! I personally liked the game, but I saw a lot of room for improvement. For starters, the story is a good one, even if the ending is sort of a letdown. You have to remeber that there is going to be a halo 3. Its just like the ending of the second Matrix: it left you wanting more! As for the multiplayer, I think that it is a more fast paced, fun FPS than the original. The graphics are very impressive, even though there are a few bugs that were not worked out before the release. In all, it's a good game with a few rough edges. It's not the greatest, and its not the worst. I personally can't wait for Halo 3, because it has the possibility to be amazing, as long as some of the problems from both Halo 1 and 2 are solved. :-)

Designed for NOOBS43448

SONofMAN from San Antonio says (1/Dec/2004):
Bungie what in the friggity fook fook have you done to THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME??? You suck you FRIGGITY FOOK FOOK SELL OUTS!!! WHY change what was NEAR PERFECT? What were U THINKING??? This is just another drowned out frag fest like those unoriginal dual wielding machine gun games like Unreal Tournament or Time splitters with a flashy HALO skin! This game eternally blows (not eternal; it does have some definite pro’s but the cons just simply outweigh the dizzamned thing), if Halo 1 had not ever been released, then yes, maybe this game would stand out among all the other wastes of time, of this washed out genre of videogame. The mechanics freakin SUCK SUCK SUCK!

Halo 1 had its few problems, but what made it stand out amongst the rest of first person shooter’s, was the fact that this wasn’t just another Golden eye, which was duplicated ten fold hoping for someone to catch that magic ( All the BS Bond sequels, Time splitters, Unreal T, ect…). It was a game with team objectives and tact and skill you acquired through practice and discovery. You didn’t have cheats in the game initially; players had to find different ways to use maps to their advantages. Throwing a grenade from a distance just past a sniper rifle or grenade launcher and blowing the weapon to you and catching it in the air in the middle of a frag fest when it counts; is skill incarnate. Timing and then firing a rocket across Blood Gulch while the opposition has the flag in a hog and blowing them to kingdom come is pure GLORY!!! but where is the skill in “locking on”??? It’s almost as if every aspect of skill and tact you could develop as a player in Halo 1, has been completely taken out of Halo 2… why Bungie, WHYYYYYYY???

There were only a couple things that needed some alterations in Halo 1… not a bootlegged revamp of the overhaul you’ve done to this backwashed game. Halo 1 obviously would have been a better game if it were online; hell gamers cried out so much for it to be, WE developed a way for online gaming to be possible. So you answering with LIVE; ingenious, and SUPER job on eliminating some of the hassles that are associated with online play (lag, peeps quitting, peeps betraying, host changes, communication). Major kudos, because LIVE makes this game worth keeping; but did anyone in your development squad play on XBC or Gamespy; the backdoor system link? These two programs are the mediums for your gamers… Where the gamers choose what they deem fit… What did “your” gamers always play? TS and CTF!!! What in the hizzell are these bogus game types you provided on live and the “FIRST TIMER”ie settings that go along with them??? Weak Weak Weak! Live is one of the few concepts that Halo 1 needed and you came though and provided; but which team of “first timers” set up these game types??? HOGwash gentleman… HOGwash!

Second, on the list that could have made HALO 1 a much better game; would have been multiple characters to choose from, or character customization. Why do you think RED vs. BLUE was so popular? Hell, the parody is almost uncanny. They gave your bland character the four different shades of red or blue; vibrant individual personalities on a team of the same color and character. You answered back perfect. Symbols and ONE other player to choose from the Spartan is a great idea… well a good idea at least but your heart was in the right place. What else did Halo 1 need…? Well a less redundant repetitive 25+ hour campaign, combos to add some flavor to the melee attack (not toning the melee down and making the initial hit look so damn weak), tracking stats just to see how you perform against others (Luv that by the way, gents!), headset compatible ( thanks;) ), and downloadable content. That’s it, nothing more, nothing less was to be expected of Halo 2 in the least. Many of these problems were addressed… and what U SHOULD have done was just recycle the original games feel and mechanics and answered only the problems that needed addressing. THAT’S IT!!! LEAVE THE REST THE FIZOOK ALONE! Instead you changed the entire feel of such a wonderful game. What the hizzel happened to the grenades, does MASTER CHIEF have a gimpy arm like NEMO’s gimpy fin?! The rocket launcher is just plain bootleg now, and OMG, what the fizook happened to the beloved MELEE??? Where’s the emphasis? The MELEE was sooooo original in the first game, damn did you mess that one up. All this game is; IS MORE FIREPOWER, LESS HEALTH! No TACT what so ever…

(In my original post there was something right here that BUNGIE won’t allow me to say about the game I preordered and paid for so I cut it out) The E3 demo of the campaign was simply amazing. The level looked so immersive and spectacular with all the different things going on in the background; it literally looked like an all out assault on Earth which called to arms many of us gamers. AWESOME! But none of the levels in the campaign are anywhere near the level of detail that THAT DEMO WAS… and how long ago was that demo released??? And the campaign is sooooo short. And you think unbalancing the game in LEGENDARY makes the games play time longer? How about actually making the game itself LONGER not impossible unbalanced enemies where you have to shoot and then wait until your shield recharges and then shoot again, what a pointless cycle. The enemy weapons should have the same effect as if you were holding them, AND THEY DON’T! It’s not challenging, it’s a waste of time and not fun. And what the FIZOOK is up with the way screens are divided; without a way to change it back??? Have you played Perfect Dark? (GGOAT) At least the option was in here, what are you trying to do give us TUNNEL VISION? BS, BS, BS!!!

I’m GODLY at the original, and more than likely one of the few peeps online that has taken out each member of the dream team on a consistent basis. And now any “FIRST TIMER” can hold there own with me and the other GODS I play with in this WEAK new game of yours. Yes, I might out pace them in kills and metals but whip pity freaking doo da! It sure isn’t fun to play. This game no matter how many games I’ve played; I just don’t get that same rush of blood or adrenaline when playing these team games. There might be a tad more balance to the players who acquired skill and those that just started playing but where’s the fun in that??? OUR skill was acquired through practice and patience for our love of the original… a lot of those moves weren’t initially for everyone to catch, but once you did catch them; DAMN that game was fun. And now any freaking “FIRST TIMER” can pick up two machine guns and run around the level with their head chopped off like a chicken and kill peeps or take the rockets and LOCK ON and knock vehicles out of the sky!!! NO SKILL NO TACT should be the slogan on this game. This game reeks with unoriginal boredom. It’s a freaking CARBON COPY of any frag fest title with a HALO skin slapped upon it with a few bells and whistles (LIVE, communicator, and stats) Like I said earlier… IF IT WASN’T FOR LIVE… All you had to do was add the few things gamers wanted (LIVE, STATS, longer immersive campaign, character customization, couple of new weapons, and delete the options for starting pistols) and leave everything else ALONE!!! You want proof Halo 2 sucks, Take Halo 1, re-release it with LIVE and some of the Maps from Halo 2 and leave everything else the FIZOOK alone and see what game is played more… Not too many people remember the games of the same genre after Golden eye; save Perfect Dark. Perfect Dark got it right when it comes to sequels; you should have followed suit with their formula. DON’T FIX WHAT’S NOT BROKE, U SONS OF FOOK FOOKS!!!

43432

A gamer from Worcestershire says (30/Nov/2004):
To all who have nothing good to say about halo 2. You will burn in a speacial level of hell that is reserved mainly for child molesters and people who talk at the theater! Halo 2's story is worhty of the silver screen (fingers crossed, people!) and the gameplay, oh dont get me started, this webpage cannot contain my love! Anyone who has played it to the end will know and be a little bit dissapointed by the abrupt ending. But it IS an ending, it has not been just cut off. Ever heard the phrase: 'To be Continued'?. To all those people destined for hell that I mentioned before, remember: Bungie arn't stupid, they KNOW what you want, they KNOW what your going to think, they KNOW how to make it better. Play it all on legendary, every level. It's hard, but what the hell is wrong with that? Find a friend, buckle up, and get ready. Get to the credits. Look at the bottom. Read. Coming February 9th. Wait for it, I swear on the holy covenant ring world, something big happens that day. Halo 3 is coming and it is going to answer ALL of your questions. Please email me for any review requests (I work for free) and concerns concering Halo 1-3.

Halo 2: Reality check43404

Stephen from Michigan says (28/Nov/2004):
Story - The story is almost completely the same, give or take a few new characters, but what really seperated it from Halo 1 is that you played as an Elite...for a vast majority of the game. The ending left it open for Halo 3 in which, according to what I understood from the game, you get to blow up not one but SEVERAL rings...ohh ahh. Once again the flood made an appearence, and once again it really made no sence as to why...

Graphics- Stunningly beautiful. They did a nice job with lighting in the video clips. They did a very nice jo with the part where you fight the gigantic ant robot type thing, so much going on and not a single pause to load.

A.I.- I'd like to say something nice for the AI but I can't. Almost the same as Halo 1, except they hide more*

*Brutes don't hide...actually I saw one throw a plasma grenade at me and hit it's own teamate.

Sound- The steel string elctric guitar part was definately THE best sound in the game but I only heard it once during gameplay. Most the music could be described as bad church music.

Lifespan- Well multiplayer definately got more interesting...and I DO still play halo 1...so if you follow the pattern 6+ years

After the first couple of "ohh...ahh...shiney" hours of playing I started noticing that Halo 2 really didn't live up to my expectations. Master Cheif got owned by the Elite you play as in terms of overall power...how you ask? Elite has temporary camo, Cheif has a flashlight...a crappy flashlight at that. Throughout the entire game I was hoping to get one of those ant robot things...the final level comes and they tell me to grab it so I'm all happy...then the AI controls in...there aren't any words in my vocabulary to express my feeling of anger, disappointment, and stabbity homicidal rage. Some of the new weapons are cool, but the sword isn't as great as I wanted it to be.Multiplayer does rule but the levels are so huge you need 3 people minimum. All in all halo 2 is just halo 1 with some shiney new gadgets.

Legendary and loving it!43409

Brett ( The Halo Guru) from San Antonio, Texas, USA says (28/Nov/2004):
I got Halo 2 yesterday, and started the game on legendary. I beat the game ON LEGENDARY in only 6 hours. The main thing that makes legendary difficult is the near 100% accuracy that the A.I. has... Other than that, LEGENDARY WAS WAY TOO EASY, AND THE ENDING WAS CRAP! Flame me all you want for my post, but us hardcore gamers need a much greater challenge. As far as the dual wielding goes.. that is by far one of the best things that has come to Halo! There is nothing more fun than unloading two full SMG clips on a target. However, the graphics were something to be desired. The reason i say this is because throughout the game i caught small glitches in the graphics (on the wall, on the NPC's, and on NPC vehicles). As far as the sound effects, music, and other background noise goes, IT WAS RIGHT ON! If you compare the sound quality from Halo 1 to Halo 2 you will easily see that Halo 2 has taken the sound quality to an all new high.

My overall opinion about Halo 2 is that it is an incredible game with a lot to offer. However, the ending was very abrupt, and left me wanting much more. The graphics and sound quality was top notch (minus the minor glitches i referred to in the beginning of the post). And lets not forget about multiplayer play. The multiplayer mode in halo 2 is SO COOL! Except for one thing..... I don't know how many of you played Hogwars in Halo 1, but you can't do it on Halo 2. My version of hogwars consisted of driving the Hogs into each other as fast as possible, sending one of the hogs really high into the air, and when the opponent falls out, you run him over. When you do this in Halo 2, the physics are much more realistic and the Hogs will only sustain damage instead of flying really high into the air. Other than the Hog thing, Cooperative play is awesome, as well as 1 on 1, or 8 on 8.

If they make a Halo 3 they better make Legendary so hard that it will take several weeks to beat.... versus only 6 hours

Good Multiplayer, But levels too big43382

A gamer from Buffalo, New York, USA says (26/Nov/2004):
Remember the good old days when friends would come together in one household, hook up a few x-boxes and play into the early hours of the morning with non-stop action? Well unless you have a high speed internet connection your outta luck because, sure you can have 16 people over and that would fill up halo 1 levels for sure(it can be hard to have all those kids over). But it seems like the Halo 2 levels seem so big that by the time you find an enemy someone snipes you from a high tower of some-sort (that bugs me so bad). For example, in hang-em-hi (a halo 1 classic multiplayer level) no matter where you respawned you were always in the action, with you and your pistol you were always close to action, now you have to hike across a huge level, or try and beat 1 of 16 possible people to perhaps 4 vehicals. But over all the duel-wielding is fun (duel pistols is under-rated(only if you have a good aim)). I definatley would give the guys (and gals) back at bugie studios a thumbs up!

Screw you all...43339

John from New Hampshire, USA says (24/Nov/2004):
Halo 2 was an abomination. All of you commending it, or atleast the story mode, should be embarrased- a$$ kissers. Legendary, what a joke, thanks for the impossible, jacka$$es. Dual wielding, WOW, haven't they been doing this in games for years before this? Bottom line, The story plot behind this game is drab. We saw this exact same story in the first one. Sure, it worked then, but we xpected something different. For the hundred years us fans who have waited for this to come out, we expected something that WOWed us. It think Halo 2 did this, but in a totally different fashion. I beat the game in no time on normal, but Legendary makes me want to fly down there to Bungie and flood the building with my own urine. It is unrealistic for a character like master chief, supposedly this kickass super hero type, to get shot two times and die. So if you are buying this for the story mode alone, save your money and play the first one again. If you are buying it for mulitplayer or X-Box live, that's cool. There aren't as many levels as there should be, but they really did step this up from the first one. Aside from that, if Bungie decides to only do the third on X-Box II, they can piss off. Microsoft can piss off too. Perhaps if they come out with more games for X-Box, I wouldn't see it as such a waste. The only reason I purchased an X-Box was for Halo, and then to get Halo 2 and be as disappointed as I was, both companies can like my a$$hole. Everyone, if you played Halo one at a buddy's house, and are now thinking about buying an X-Box so you can play Halo 2, save your money and get a Playstation of GameCube, atleast you'll have a large assortment of games to choose from. All of you little pissant lemmings screaming this game is the best, this game is the best can screw each other with a crab infested cactus. Halo one was a good game. The first James Bond, still a good game. Halo 2, took a beautiful thing and beat it like a redheaded step child. Once again before I go to play frisbee with my Dog using the Halo 2 ltd ed disc, don't buy it if you only want the story mode, if you want it for the multiplayer mode only, be a sell out and buy the damn thing, God only knows it's only one of five games available on X-Box anyway, atleast it will offer something different- John

The good things... and the bad things43351

A gamer from California, USA says (24/Nov/2004):
I was looking forward to this game for a very long time. The graphics are great, everything looks more realistic, dual wielding, taking ally's guns, and much more. But, what annoyed me was that there was no health meter! In one such level, I didn't know what my health was. So, if I knew I had low health, I would duck for cover. However, I thought my health was good enough so I went out trying to kill Heretics. Bad choice. I got killed. That is probably the only bad thing I can think of. Although I beat this game in 3 days, it was a great game I enjoyed. The long levels(which annoyed me sometimes) were great. Hijacking vehicles, new weapons, and smarter A.I. really helped(e.g. Marines driving Warthogs, Elites driving Spectres). You actually get a chance to use the turret. And even flood can drive vehicles like Gauss Warthogs. This game is great and I think people who like action should play this game.

How about no!43321

Reaver says (22/Nov/2004):
I am still finding it hard to believe that people made such a hype about this game. It plays exactly like the last one and was even shorter. Wow theirs 15 levels thats great but guess what. The first few levels after getting off the Cairo played like one. An average Halo 1 level was almost longer than all 4 put together. The dual wielding is no big deal. Its been around. The knocking people off vehicles was cool but it just wasnt as great as everyone says it was. The story was way too wedged in half to be called "epic". Half the game you didnt even play as the MC. Halo 2 dissapointed me more than Medal of Honor Rising Sun, and lets admit thats saying alot. The weapons werent all that great. The only one that caught my attention was the battle rifle. Plus it is going to make me puke when another person says Halo 2 is realistic. IT IS NOT REALISTIC. The graphics look pretty cool but there is better. Yeah so what they had marines come in and show them how stuff is really done but they must have not been paying attention to the USEFUL tactics that were supposed to be SUGGESTIONS in the game. The only difference between the Marines in this one and the last one is they sometimes use cover. I use sometimes loosely.

BEST GAME EVER!!!43297

dogbert from USA, NJ, Hillsborough says (21/Nov/2004):
This game is SO much better than the original!!! The graphics are THE BEST, and it has improved multiplayer! What I really liked about it is that it didn't change the original format! Most sequels to games change the whole format around. But not in this game. It's like HALO 1, but with better weapons, vehicles, enemies, multiplayer, and much more! I also really liked how you didn't die when falling off an edge (like landing too high up). That was a problem for me in HALO 1. I like how you can now just jump from a high distance and perform an aeriel attack. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it has no nav-point this time so you might get lost in a level. I also like how yo can hijack vehicles. In HALO 1, some cheapos would simply get in a vehicle and run me over. This time you can just jump right in their vehicles as if it were your own. I also like how you can duel wield. Thank God that they weakened the pistol this time around. Some other cheapos would simply fire away at my head. 3 shots, down. This time it could fire at a faster rate, but that's all it is to it, really (which is good). And they improved the needler. Remember in HALO 1, it was laughably weak? Well this time it's so powerful I choose it over the shotgun. Overall, HALO 2 is a very good game, and anyone who hates it must have a mental defect.
