H2 | | ReNeGaDe from Sumner, USA says (18/Nov/2004): | halo 2 has some things that are good about it but also bad, they made the game more realistic, no falling damage, it sucks they made it glitch free, it was fun tryin new tricks but now it doesnt matter cause there isnt any it is kinda gay how long they took to make this game and the only things they changed were the levels and the guns. i personally didnt like the game at first, but when i got used to it i started to like it better. There is some things they could have changed and made better, the invisible is almost useless in this game becuase u can tell when someone is invisible if they get anywhere near you. I like a lot of the new levels because they made them more complicated, the swords are awesome, i think they are one of the best things that they added, because it is a huge advantage in close range combat. i dont like the health in this game, because it is only a sheild. They should have kept it the same as the last game. It has an alright story line, but it is close to what it was in halo. I like how you can be covenent in this game, the game also gives the gamer a larger vareity of colors and symbols, this allows you and your friends to make a "team" without anyone coping you. Overall halo 2 has its high and low points but i think bungie did a good job because the first halo was great so it must have been hard for them to improve from that.

The graphics were hell better than halo Combat evolved. The sound effects were better and the gameplay rocked my house down. Yeah as people have mentioned a thousand times, dual wielding is cool, the new weapons and vehicles are cool and pretty much everthing about halo 2 is cool.
The storyline was not a let down. The player needs to see the story from both sides. The story had more twists than halo 1. The covenant has found earth, The covenant breaks apart, the covenant has it's arbiter, the master chief kicks ass and what's really interesting is that the outlawed covenant (elites, grunts and hunters)has partly allied with the humans in an attempt to stop the prophets from activating halo. I reckon the halo 2 story is leading to a bloody freaking awesome halo 3. It'd be cool if the arbiter and the master chief chase the prophets to the other halos, and the so called "ARC". THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME.
To sum up all you people who think halo 2 was gay and poor need to listen to the story very cleary, cause bungie made the story like that for a reason. You don't want the human-covenant war to finish so soon do you? any way the game was better than anything i've ever played. Thanks to bungie, halo 2, master chief, tartarus, the arbiter, cortana is HOT!!!
| BEST GAME EVER!!! | | dogbert from USA, NJ, Hillsborough says (21/Nov/2004): | This game is SO much better than the original!!! The graphics are THE BEST, and it has improved multiplayer! What I really liked about it is that it didn't change the original format! Most sequels to games change the whole format around. But not in this game. It's like HALO 1, but with better weapons, vehicles, enemies, multiplayer, and much more! I also really liked how you didn't die when falling off an edge (like landing too high up). That was a problem for me in HALO 1. I like how you can now just jump from a high distance and perform an aeriel attack. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it has no nav-point this time so you might get lost in a level. I also like how yo can hijack vehicles. In HALO 1, some cheapos would simply get in a vehicle and run me over. This time you can just jump right in their vehicles as if it were your own. I also like how you can duel wield. Thank God that they weakened the pistol this time around. Some other cheapos would simply fire away at my head. 3 shots, down. This time it could fire at a faster rate, but that's all it is to it, really (which is good). And they improved the needler. Remember in HALO 1, it was laughably weak? Well this time it's so powerful I choose it over the shotgun. Overall, HALO 2 is a very good game, and anyone who hates it must have a mental defect.

| Halo2 makes the first one look like a joke! | | Bobby Joe from L.A., California, U.S. says (9/Apr/2003): | If you thought the first Halo was fun wait until you play this one. In this game you can fight on the covenant planet(featuring two new covenant)and defend the earth when the covenant finds it. And if you thought the flood was gone you were wrong, as earth discovers many more halos all filled with the flood ready to strike. It also has two new weapons incluing an assault rifle that can zoom and a small speedy machine gun thing.
This game also gives the master chief new abbilities like running, combo melee attacks, leaning against a wall and peeking over the other side and much much more. and if you wanted more veichles here thay are. Halo 2 has four different warthogs for different terrains, an ATV to ride around fast, a shadow(this is personally one of my favorites, it's like a ghost and a warthog mixed. It can hold four others besides the driver, and the one in the back shoots a turret.) and a new Dropship.
Multiplayer got much better now that they will include flying veichles as well as most of the others, will give you the option of playing as Master Chief or an Elite, and you can seperate the tank's missle launher from the turret to hit several people at once!
These are only a few of the amny improvements they have made. I don't know about you, but i can't wait until the second Halo comes out.

for instant:
on the original you could stand on the tank turret, on HALO 2 you cant.
But this time you can sneak up on those people that get a tank and go on a rampage. if you go behind a tank[whilst some one is in it] you can jump on the back and plant a grenade[after meleeing a panel off]. a lot of the time, the tank driver cant see you till its too late, they also cant get you off.
you can also have two people on a car, although they arent on the same team, which makes quick allegiances easyier.
there are new multiplayer games, like JUGGERNAUT, opne person is the juggernaut whilst everyone else tries to kill him/her. the person who has the killing blow becomes the next juggernaut and this goes on till the score limit. the juggernaut with the most kills wins.
on the subject of multi player, if you go into split screen and go on options, you can turn banshees on, nearly all the levels support them, but you cant use the fuel rod cannon[green missile]
the guns sound diffrent, the pistol is exchanged for a magnum[similar looking, just black] and dual weilding kicks ass, especially with needlers.

| AWESOME! | | Face Seraphim from Kingsport, TN says (16/Dec/2004): | Halo 2 is by far the best game that has come out for the XBox. I can't believe how far Bungie has come over the years. The graphics were top notch, far better than anything I've seen on the Playstation 2. The soundtrack, which I bought this weekend blew me away. I loved it during gameplay, but try driving down the road while playing some H2 tracks. Its so invigorating. Playing the game on Legendary was amazing. It was by far one of the most insane things I have ever done. Try beating a couple of elites with only two pistols and an SMG at your disposal. The odds make things seem virtually impossible. Especially when the enemy has % accuracy. The only part of single player that I was upset with was the ending. The storyline was actually very interesting with some great cinematics, but the end was slightly abrupt. I enjoyed it, but for poor people like me its best the get the entire story in just one game. I mean, wouldn't that be better? Gameplay online is actually interesting. Snipe one minute then jump off a perch and slam someone in the back with your rifle while sustaining literally no fall damage. The only thing that I was disappointed with during multiplayer were my opponents.How awesome is that? How can you compete with a game this amazing? I'll be waiting for H3 and saluting Bungie all the way!

Ill tell you what I saw and you can decide. In the beginning of the game I was amazed by the stunning graphics, yes. But not as stunned as I had initially thought, I expected to be able to feel like I had 20/20 vision throughout this game, if not better, able to pick out every detail of a reflection in the water, or a ship coming in to land. Instead it was only a slight improvement on the first. Then comes the gameplay, spectacular, you would think that adding a new gun would have made controlls insanely hard, but in fact they were fairly simple, though they did take some getting used to. I was particularly fond of their introduction of the new enemies such as the brutes and whatever they called those huge flying robots. I was also pleased that the enemies were slightly harder to kill forcing you to use strategy, even if you were truely packing. However towards the end I began to realize that the hunters may have become much too hard to kill in this game (they cover up those orange spots pretty well). Then comes the ending, to me it was a let down only because it was too short. It was no worse than the second matrix. Overall, the gameplay improved but the storyline being split may have been distracting.

3.More weapons (covenant carbine- a zoom in battle rifle) and (the smg that u can dual wield)+ the convenant swords too. THe assault rifle is a mix between a sniper and machine gun, the pistol, unfortunately, is gone.

5.Dual wielding-you will be able to use two guns at once but only the guns theat uses one hand only so no dual rocketlanchers sorry but i am hinted that when you beat the game on legendaery you will be able to

7.vehcles- you will beable to get to drive any vehcle that u desier in the game, The settings are off da hook, moon, earth, undergorund, sky fights, riding in covenant tanks and cars with pelicans flying by your side and turbo boost ghost and banshees.

Another thing is that duel-wielding is kinda cool but its kinda old to. I wish i could play it on xbox live but its not working write. How come you never really learn what the flood is? Now one thing that really pissed me off was that halo 3 would be on xbox 2 ( Microsoft & bungie are trying to get us to pat more money). I heard that halo 3 was actually the second half to halo 2 because they could't fit it all on one disc so they split it in to 2 games to get more money. honestly i expected alot more. Now i haven't played online yet. What they should have done to make it better was add more levels and make it harder. And more levels as master chief. And the batle rifle was anoying to me why didn't they just make it an autimatic instead of a burst. And they should go back to the old life meter so you dont die from 2 shots cuz in halo won you could take a hit but the new meter is ridiculus i mean sure it has better shields but c'mon. They should put it back to the old way and make the shields better. and before i finish why didn't the make you able to use the jackals shield in duel wields( the trigger lets the shield block you when you push the trigger. see ya

A couple new enemies comin' 4 your head include the brute, a bulky SOB that carries a !elluva wallop with the brute shot (grenade launcher), prophets, mysterious top dogs of the covanant,drones, high flyin' mother !< remove me > at %&ers that stick to walls and hide from your total chaos,and the honer guards, elites wearin' !%&*ed up armor.
New vehicles and upgrades for the oldies, like the new modified warthog with a guass rifle mounted on the back. Travel through snow with treads instead of back wheels 4 the wathog. Get ready 4 boosts 4 both ghosts + banshees.What happens when you have no vehicle, and everyone else just keeps running your candy !< remove me > at & into the dirt? Two words boarding action!!!!!!!!!! Jump on the back of a ghost, punch em' cold. Kick his !< remove me > at & out of your new ride and take the streets.
Good thing the marines don't suck any more. They actualy can drive you through the city.
Halo 2 ............ posibly the greatest game ever? We'll only know that one faithful day.

Fill your house with food and your friends, and prepare to yell, scream and hoot your way into plasma blasting oblivion. Well worth the wait, especially if you own a plasma TV and the high-def graphics upgrades. Full surround sound lets you know what's going on behind you as well. The coders of this game are amazing. From the incredible dual-wield of weapons (read: kill way more aliens), to a better developed storyline, and my personal favourite, the locking and target acquisition while using the bazooka. Can't wait to see what else is in store as I get further! New aliens come your way with even better taunts. The newer, better weapons are fantastic. Sounds and feel of them are excellent. Even to where your machine gun causes your aim to raise up from recoil. I'm not sure, but it seems that the aliens can also mimic your fellow soldiers speech and lure you into a trap. I heard familiar voices and wound up walking into an ambush, with no fellow marines around. Sneaky are those aliens. Check out the extra little add-ons like the sun setting, quotes on bilboards, etc. You can even personalize your own suit colours, emblems etc. Way way more than just a shoot-em-up game. So quit reading and go get your copy. Now Now NOW!!!
| HALO 2 KICKS A$$!!! | | Spurious G from Wilmington, DE out of the good old U.S. says (9/Nov/2004): | Halo 2 is possibly one of the best games to date. I just got mine and it is sick. Two player mode enialates its pedecessor, with new levels and vehicles to die for. In a few of the campaign levels you actually get to play as an elite! As the elite you have limited invisibility powers. Also, marines can drive, and there are 3 new additions to the covenant's army. They are Brutes Drones and Prophets. The Flood is also back from the original Halo. Some parts are a little confusing but once you take a second everything is clear. The pistol has been removed and there is another pistol called a Magnum. The rocket launher is the same, and Sniper Rifles now have 5x and 10x zoom as opposed to the old 2x and 10x zoom. The assault rifle is gone and now there is a Battle Rifle which fires in 3 round bursts and is highly effective. The duel weildable SMG (small machine gun) is my favorite gun especially when duel weided. There is also a whole slew of covenent guns including the old plasma pistol and rifle, the covenent carbine, sentinel beam, beam rifle(alien sniper rifle), brute shot and a few others. All guns can zoom in to 2x, BUT they lose the crosshair aiming system while zoomed in. Not much else to say, hope I answered any questions. GET HALO 2!!!!!!!

The graphics are so much better than any game I have seen, other than PC games. Cortana is better detailed and has longer hair. The surrounding areas are bigger, better, and more detailed. You can see debris falling around when your in battle. Last night, my husband and I just sat starring at the screen and he said "Sh-- we just f---ed up that whole city. Nothing but smoke, fire, and destroyed vehicles was left. You need to stay with your troops as much as possible, because they get slaughtered without you. But thats like any game. The troops help a lot more. Their aim is better at killing the enemy. The only problems I've seen so far is they drive like maniacs, so watch out they will run you over. I think they had too many tequilla's. haha. The weapons are a lot quieter and smoother. I like te dual-wield. Just keep shooting and then drop a gun throw a grenade and pick your gun right back up. Thats cool. I don't know what else to say. I'm only on the fifth mission out of fourteen. I still have a ways to go. I can't wait until I see the Flood. I wounder if they are going to be more scary and creepier?! Happy gaming everyone and maybe I'll be killing you on LIVE. hehe :)

Halo 1 was surprising and was good enough to play campaign over and over again. On Halo 2 I played it once and now just look for glitches. Halo 2's fighting style was a lot better that Halo, and Halo was a good story. They are kind of equal if you ask me. Halo 2 goods: Skulls, Glitches, Vehicles(well the spectre is pretty cool and helps with climbing mountains), weapons, dual-weilding, multiplayer maps, multiplayer fighting, hijacking, I think being the arbitor was cool, and x-box live. Halo 2 bads: THOSE STUPID INVISABLE WALLS!!!, can't drive Pelican or Covenant dropship, storyline sucks, the flood are so boring and im sick of them, and the thing i hate most is how Johnson can't feaking die. Keyes can't die either. On the first level, i punched johnson through the level until we got outside. Then i hit him off of the edge and he still idnt die! On the last level, is you take a ghost through until where Johnson gets in the scarab, you can boost quick enough to board the scarab. Then you can punch him off the scarab and run him over with a wraith, banshee, etc. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!!!!. Anyway Halo's storyline is good, and Halo 2's fighting style is good, so they are equal to me.

The graphics are going to be so complex that you will be diving out of the way in your own house. My friend and I are undefeatable in co-ops on the first halo. The multiplayer is going to be the best in the whole world to come. The other consoles will be cowering in fear to the future halos. The movies will dominate all and the money is going to be rolling in. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I think that they should also start making halo 2 on PC the first halo's computer version took too long! The new vehicles oh my god wow I mean they will dominate the ATV the transport warthog are so realistic that I think I am going to write an essay on it. i hope that they add the flame thrower i mean bling blingin boy you walk in to a building and just flamew the dang life out of them i mean it would also make the body look like kentuckey fried chiken. the aliens and marineds can drive now and so can the covenant you can also destroy the dropships. the marines are also much smarter they will actually make a difference in the game play then you can use the gatlinng gun and blow them to smitherings. The gameplay is fast paced and does not make you meander through adventures looking for pointless objects. The sounds are incredible as well. The only downfall is the controls.
It is just incomprehensibly pitiful what the game has done to some people though. The degrees to which people are miserable is shameful. If you really think about it the game is not that oringinal. There are millions of games out there like Halo. Halo is just better to a certain degree. Some of you need to read a book every once and a while so that your brain doesn't turn to mush. Sooner or later you all will start to look like the alien race of covenants. Yes, I can admit that I had a great time playing the first one. It had an execellent multiplayer mode that had me up for hours. It also had some hilarious bloopers that left me in awe. But after I had beat the game I realized that it was just that.....a freakin game. You die hard fans are letting the game consume you. There is a fine line between a "die hard fan" and a crazy, deranged, lunatic who needs a girl in his life to bring him back to earth from halo.
| How about no! | | Reaver says (22/Nov/2004): | I am still finding it hard to believe that people made such a hype about this game. It plays exactly like the last one and was even shorter. Wow theirs 15 levels thats great but guess what. The first few levels after getting off the Cairo played like one. An average Halo 1 level was almost longer than all 4 put together. The dual wielding is no big deal. Its been around. The knocking people off vehicles was cool but it just wasnt as great as everyone says it was. The story was way too wedged in half to be called "epic". Half the game you didnt even play as the MC. Halo 2 dissapointed me more than Medal of Honor Rising Sun, and lets admit thats saying alot. The weapons werent all that great. The only one that caught my attention was the battle rifle. Plus it is going to make me puke when another person says Halo 2 is realistic. IT IS NOT REALISTIC. The graphics look pretty cool but there is better. Yeah so what they had marines come in and show them how stuff is really done but they must have not been paying attention to the USEFUL tactics that were supposed to be SUGGESTIONS in the game. The only difference between the Marines in this one and the last one is they sometimes use cover. I use sometimes loosely.

and even better you get to fight along side with hunters in the last level along with grunts, elites and humans. here is a handy tip when you see a bunch of covenent and flood that looks formidablelet them fight it out then you will just kill the remainder and walk on. another handy tip on halo 1 the level were you are fighting your way across a bridge grab a banshee and fly down there it cuts the whole level short.heres a kind of cheat on the level where you are in a covenant ship and the flood are trying to take over well you have to fall through a hole leading to a pool of slime if you want to get over the hole throw a plasma grenade on the ground time 3 seconds and jump you will go flying over to find some elites other than that not much.
| the games okay but needs to be better to catch the better players!!! | | Henry Ryan from Australia,WA,Perth says (25/Dec/2004): | I've got to admit halo 2 is a good game but the banshee is stupid . in the original version banshees went like 5 times faster but now with out boost i could run faster then them,in boost the crap part about it is you can't fire so Bungie you slow down the banshee tell us we need boost to go to the original speed but when doing that you can't fire come on. about the human technology this is earth there should be human air support more then one spartan.one of the main things that leaves me in doubt are where are the civilians i mean this is Earth human mother planet.
Legendary I don't undersand in covie hand there like weapons of supreme power when in the masterchiefs hand there laughably weak.
still why i like the game is the graphics and the floods ferocity 7 times in the game they made me jump . the graphics are best i think on the flood i shot at one of the combat forms and all his organs squirted out. what happens to all the marines and elites armor.I like the shorter levels but halo fans like me meant the next level not in the same facility.
the covenant levels are to long and make up most of the game.
my conclusion is the games still one of my favourites but needs a lot of replanning
