tHIS gAME IS tHE bEST |
| Gunz from Denver, Colorado says (21/Oct/2004): |
This game is one of the best games I have ever played. Many People say the game is short, its Not. If you Play the game and do every mission, every quest(including all legendary weapons quest, all dolls quest, etc.), the game would take a lot more time. I beat the game and its fun to play it both ways, good and bad.

Great game, but not what I expected. |
| Jack from Newbury,United Kingdom says (18/Oct/2004): |
My title sums it up. I had been waiting for Fable for a long time and I was eagerly anticipating the release date. I was in for many suprises and many disapointments. The first thing I noticed was that the grphics were brilliant, the world looked very realistic. However, overall the game was far too short, I completed it twice in 3 days. However hard i tried, I could not make the game last longer the 13-15 hours. When I read all the reviews I was expecting a long, vast game like morrowind. The storyline is very good but it is pretty much the only thing you can do on the game, follow the storyline. In my opinion that is not what I wanted to do, I wanted to create my own story... like the game developers promised. Appart from these bad things, the rest of the game is good. Despite its short length, the huge amount of detail that has gone into the developement of the towns and people had me stunned. e.g. Children will go to school, have break times, then go home. People will have a certain job which they will carry out everyday. Then at the end of the day they go to pubs. The NPC's inside the towns have their own lives and the world evolves around the main player.
So overall, the game is worth buying, even though it is short, it provides those hours of fun. I can only hope that they bring out a Fable 2, which will contain what many gamers out there have dreamt of and expected of fable

Fable, is way too short |
| Jack ;) from Oakvale says (11/Oct/2004): |
ok, so I was hoping that Fable would be the best RPG these days... but when I beat it in 13 hours, with almost every side quest, I was disapointed. Game is too short, after i threw the game's best sword away, game just ended right there, and watched the credits, i continued playing, but didnt have any more questes and the only thing im left with, is to marry women and kill monsters which are almost impossible to find.. the thing is there is no point playing after u done. The game itself has a good graphics though, and i really ejoyed that "stop time" magic spell, which reminded me of the matrix :) hehe, but once again it was too short, and its not like u deside how to build ur own path... u just follow the script, either good or evil. Soo following the story line which is writted by someone else, isnt what i expected, u have one guild that ur in from the beginning, and they give u quests, u do them in like 5-10 minutes, u get old by 2-4 years... thats right ur getting older by like 2 years killing 12 bandits in 4 minutes, and u dont get old when u traveling urself, getting expirience for hours. so my last words would be: Thank god i rented that game for 3 days, not 7 :P, not talking about buying it hehehe.

It would be good if it didn't suck. |
| JRED from Guelph, Ontario, Canada says (24/Sep/2004): |
I played it, and beat this game with both good and evil within 3 days of its release. those 3 days were good, but what do you do after? you have the best armor, best weapons, and best spells maxed out, and no hard opponents left. just guards and balverines. 3 hits kill trolls now. wow. no challenge. not enough quests, yet so much potential. this game is very linear, much like StarWars: KOTOR, yet is only 15 hours long if stretched instead of 50 hours long for starwars. Marrowind will never be topped by this easy let-down of a game. more quests and interactive environments would have made this game perfect. you cant leave the paths, and with cheap health potions found everywhere, you could beat the Arena with a stick if prepared enough.

It's good, but not epic |
| Jaime from California, USA says (23/Sep/2004): |
I was so hyped up about what I heard that I preordered the game right when I heard that I could. When I brought the game home I was hoping to be able to walk around and do anything I wanted. I was limited to certain things in the towns. Sure, I could kill everyone, but the guards continued to respawn and it didn't have that realism there. The thing that disappointed me the most was the map. I really didn't like the transition from road to road that kept me blocked in by unchoppable bushes and solid cement walls. I was hoping to be able to wander around anywhere and do anything like I was told I could. I didn't like being boxed in with the only variety on the map being whether I could go left or right at the fork. Another thing I didn't like was the collecting of the experience. Just give it to me. I killed the guy didn't I?
Some good things were the ability to change the looks of the character and the graphics were excellent.
Some things I would change would be 1) Let me have freedom to wander, not just move from map to map 2)I want to be an orc or half-elf or gnome or something like that with those attributes in the true style of RPG 3) the mini map took a little while to get used to, I think it would function better if it rotated around the character 4)The game was waaaaay too short. Put a lot more sidequests 5) make the good/evil thing more interesting. It didn't do anything for me one way or the other. It wasn't a big deal 6) I'd like to be someting more than a fighter, mage, rogue (or combination of the three) 7) If I can open a door, let me close it too.
The game was good, but it didn't grasp every minute of my attention and if I didn't play it, I was ok. I want something that I can't stop thinking about. I want to think about it in my sleep. I thought that this game was going to be like that and it wasn't.

Fable is by far the only reason to even own an Xbox |
| Robert Radley from New Hampshire, USA says (20/Sep/2004): |
I got an Xbox almost a year ago when I saw a preview for Fable on the Lionhead website. I was in the store just a few days ago, saw it on the shelf and scooped it up. It is incredible. It seems that each action sways your alignment, much like in Black&White, not to mention that the Lightning spell is strangely familiar... actually a few spells carry over from the godly powers of Lionhead's other big title. The realism is striking, most RPGs you can walk through people's houses, break pots and barrels, and take what you like from strangers. You can't do that in Fable, well you can but you have to risk getting caught by the guards. But then on the other hand there are corrupt guards that can be bribed. It seems like they thought of everything, and it even lacks the seemingly trademark glitches that marred B&W. Much in the style of Everquest, Diablo, and other Roleplaying games it's rather addictive, but it is the only one that hooked me. If I had to sum the game up in one word: undescribable.
|
Not as good as Morrowind |
| Desiree from New Hampshire USA says (17/Sep/2004): |
Fable was an alright game. For all the times its been pushed back I expected it to be better. I beat the game in two days. I After playing my all time favorite game Morrowind, Fable left alot to be desired. The graphics are amazing but the gameplay is not.
|
Graphics are great but game is lacking.... |
| James Cerciello from hillsboro, oregon, usa says (17/Sep/2004): |
Fable ill admit was a good game but the game itself including side quests and marying was unexpectedly short. the ability to become bad or good was not what it was hyped to be either. i bought the game on wednesday and beat it thursday. i personally say waste of 50 bucks. id rather play morrowind with more weapons and armor and more options and side quests. Fable is farrrr to linear.

Fable is almost out! |
| A gamer from USA CA says (9/Aug/2004): |

Is it a drea, |
| Ryan Skibbe from Scott City, Kansas says (15/Mar/2004): |
Can you imagine the programmers of this game the idea development comes up with an idea like this and the programmers begin to twitch and go into a furious rage yet they decided to come through with it, im a fan of morrowind and everquest but ill drop both of them to kick some ass on this. Strentgh affects how you pull out your weapons, capable of getting familys and killing the father of another family has an intersting twist the son grows up and vows revenge now tell me have you ever played a game with unlimited possibilities and neverending action, the enemies are just push overs like morrowind they actually use your mistakes to there advantage they hide in tall grass and jump you from all sides. 2 PLAYER HELL YAH so many parties of fable will be coming you just wait 90 of the population will be dreaming feeding thinking and living fable. If it isnt pushed back again ill be waiting at the store from dusk till dawn to get this one. The wait is unbearable i keep thinking about fable when i play other games and the games just arent fun anymore, so coming from an rpg addict peace out.

Fable is awesome! |
| Yurka from Otterville, USA says (7/Feb/2004): |
Fable is the best game that will ever come out in the video game world. The graphics are awesome, and the gameplay is like nothing I've ever herd of. Everything you do affects your surroundings. Your characters physical characteristics change due to your actions. I have heard that the levels are gigantic and there is almost no end to them. I can't wait till this game comes out and I'm sure that neither can millions of other people.

DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| MUKRZ from The North says (25/Nov/2003): |
First of all I agree with James Bovington and Jamie MacMillan they are so cool, because they are absoluetly right it is going to make gaming history! it has just so many things to offer like the fact you can customize yourself on the game i literally cannot wait!!!!!!!!! who possibly could not like this game, there will be nothing like this game ever! p.s. gamecubes are $#< remove me > at !ing gay.

For when the real world is too much. |
| James Bovington from Hudderfield, England says (23/Nov/2003): |
Ah, Fable, this, to me, sounds like one of the best, if not the best, game it is possible to play. The amount of things your able to do in this gigantic game is amazing, everything you touch, everyone you talk to affects how other characters think of you, its not enough that you can customize basically every aspect of your appearence, you can get tattoos and every battle scar you recieve stays with you throughout the game, but the good and evil aspect (although already used to some extent in the balders gate games)is the proverbial icing on the cake, and I like icing!
although noone has played Fable I already love it, the graphics look amazing considering the size and scale of the game, and the two player quest is a great touch, one can be good, one evil, the perfect balance, Yin and Yang.
I, unfortunatly, wont get to play it, but i know some one who will so ill set up my tent in his garden.
I shall sumerize in a handy word equation.
Fable=Pure gaming bliss wrapped in a small plastic box.
Viva le virtual reality!
|
a whole new world!? |
| Jamie MacMillan from Huddersfield, England says (19/Nov/2003): |
I have heard so many things about Fable and if everybody heard what i heard, who wouldn't buy an x-box just for this superb looking game! I have been surfing the internet just looking for sites about Fable and i have seen many things about it, then i found this brilliant site where you can share your own opinion about Fable and it hasn't even come out yet. Back to the game at hand, it sounds like a whole new world, every flower you crush every foe you slay it will change the world forever! as if that wasn't cool enough you can choose your own clothes and weapons, whether you are good or evil and you can have a multiplayer with your friends in story mode. I have endless good things to say about this game!
|
fable is going to be the best game of all time now and forever... |
| Niko from westlinn, oregon says (10/Oct/2003): |
fable has become a big hit and its not even out yet. think of it this way in a normal game if you destroy your world you eather start over, reload, switch players, esc but in fable if you destroy your world completly you take you memory card and go to a friends house and load your character into there world as a completly new person.which comes in handy if your considered an ass in your world. i will probably be the first in line to buy the game the second it hits the shelvs.
plus in most games there is an invisible wall or some thing else to block you from getting far away from the action but not in this game. i have bin going to many web sites and seen many things on fable and the amount of work gone into this game is overwhelming. you can gem up items to make it more powerful i think i even read that there is a frying pan that you can jem up which is kind of weird but funny.
thats all i have to say so go buy that game now!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
This game needs to come out RIGHT NOW! |
| Klepto from Sacramento, CA says (7/Oct/2003): |
Fable sounds so cool! I'm planning on going out and buying an X-Box just for this game. I heard a few rumors about it; I have no idea if they're true. One place said you can have multiplayer, with one person being the hero and one the sidekick, and that you can take your character on your memory card to another friends game, and stick him in there. I also heard you can have a guy or girl, but I don't think that one's true. It'd be cool though. I know you can kill townspeople, and that's the best.
|
This game is going to be awesome |
| Gavin from NC, USA says (21/Sep/2003): |
I personally don't know how i could be writing a review, (the games not out yet). But Halo is God. This game will be comparable to Halo and maybe even Halo 2. I have no idea what these other two pricks wrote about, but it sure wasn't this game or Halo. It will be 3rd person, but it will be fricking awesome, You literally shape the future of the game, and literally shape your character. You will even view the world with real time fricken' shadows. I mean, come on, what more could you ask for without being a complete prick.

Is It a hoax? |
| Hoax from Nashville Tn says (29/Aug/2003): |
I bought the xbox because of project ego now called Fable and Halo. They first anounced Project ego would be released March 2001 and here we are September 2003 with the release date of "winter 2004". How in the world can a release date be off by 3 years? Has anyone actually seen the game in action? I can't find a single artical that says they have seen it in action - only pictures and graphics. Can a game like the one they claim to have even be built on the xbox? I have KOTOR "which is awesome" but it gets choppy every now and then and the grapics on Fable look like it will blow KOTOR away.
So my question is this - was the game fable/ project ego a hoax just to sell xbox's?
