Very Good...Plays almost as good as the 2k series...but...the depth of this game is amazing. I love the customization and playbooks. The 2k series had harder hits which i would like to see and the player movment is just a tad better, but over all this game is awesome. I love the playmaking option, and the owners mode is a sim lovers football fantasy. I give it a 9+

I love the new Madden 2004. It is a lot harder than what it was last years Madden. Onwners mode is fun. You still get to play to. I liked the new Madden 2004 because of how you need a offer to move towns. Then how hard it is. It is the coolest game ever. It is 10x better than any other madden.

Madden 2004 is great. The best thing about it is that it is fast paced just like Fever. The Graphics and the Sound is great. I just bought this game today so I havent tried Owner Mode yet but im sure its great. I was mostly playing Exibition to learn everything.The best thing about it is the way Tackling and Running/Catching animations were made. This is the best football game ever. If you are a football fan, then buy this game now. Peace!!

This game I believe is definetely overrated in that the gameplay is definetely offense favored like any other EA game. Also the playmaker passing is a bad idea... As a QB can you talk to a receiver that is 30 yards down field while 3 DE's are hunting you down. If this was eliminated then Vick wouldnt look like GOD anymore. Also when you come with blitzes guys just get stuck in the middle of the line. I am sorry but when Kendrell Bell blitzes he doesnt just run into a wall of O-Lineman... HE BLOWS BY THEM!!! The game has major flaws such as this which can be considered a cheat:
Pick a play in singleback normal or Shotgun 2Rb 3wr that involves a straight route with any receiver. Then audible into a fake punt (preferrably with a mobile Qb) Otherwise just slide with Qb immediately and press triangle to do the same play and just chuck it up to the WR running the straight route because all the defenders come charging in including the corners and safeties.
As far as the graphics goes they are the same as they always have been!
Madden is still annoying as hell and screws you over on his ask Madden option. The only new addition to the sound is the 18 track mix of songs which gets old after a few times listening to it.
I think Madden needs to take a major step up next year before the competition takes the big step and blows them away.

this is a good game overall and you would definaitly want to get it to play with your friends. Ok the only thing is jhon madden is so annoying every time you compleat a third down conversion. Also like he really is he states the obviose! It is great because it is realistic untill john madden gives you the wrong play so dont take them. The owners box is really cool if you are doing a franchise.

my review on madden 2004 was,that this game is the best football game out there right now.but mainly that this game has came along way from were it use to be,like with the play makers mode and the new franchise training camp modes.so keep up the good work.

You should buy this game. If you love football this is the game for you. You can make your own team and you can make yourself a player on any team you want. This game is the best game. It is hard at first, but you get the hang of it. It becomes easier and easiet. I got this game because I am a football freak. This game rocks. I guarantee you will like it if you buy it. This is the best game ever. The gameplay is the best. There's no game better. The graphics are awesome. It's almost real. The players look exactly like they do in real life. Anyone who don't think this Madden is the best has some issues. But lots of my friends say that they like Madden 2003 better.

This game is off the hook. I think that all the new features are great and the training mode is good too. Madden has came very far. The instant replay's could use a little adjusting but overall I Love this game~ I this is going to only get better. I can't wait for 2005!!!!

This part of the game still needs a lot of work. From the cheeze plays to cheaters online, they have taken away the football fun. Add punkbuster, challenge the play online isnt there, make online play all madden instead of all pro.If it's "IN THE GAME" THEN PUT IT IN THE ONLINE GAME AS WELL.

the game is great, but when it comes to playing the computer at the all madden level it gets unrealistic.it doesn't matter what team you are playing, it's immpossible to run the ball and your qb never has any time to pass the ball.they also drop wide open passes.it's a major difference between all madden and all pro.

I love the owner mode, my friends and I love to take control of the owner's box with our favorite teams for as many season's as we can. A suggestion for the next one would be to have the option of sending players to play NFL Europe so that they can develop instead of sitting the bench all season and get worse. The NFL-Europe teams are already on the game and would be simple to incorporate that into the franchise/owner mode.

it's the little things on the game that don't make sense to me like why is there certain players that no matter what you do you can't stop them? when you modify your teams uniform u can't have the teams logo on the helmet.why when u pick your defense if you use the 4-3 for example ther is no 3-4 formations so your stuck on plays where the 3-4 would be better.the kick metter on all madden goes way to fast on kickoffs. when you create a player if you have a last name that is different they don't say it .when you create a team if you use a smaller towns name it will only say the home team or the visiting team and if you don't use the a.i. on all madden u most likely lose its like the cpu is all madden but your rookie even if u play the worst team on the game. just a few thins i think should be changed for 05

These game is to much like every other game. If you wont a really fun game then get NFL STREET!!!! Beside's that the game is real cool. I really like the music in it. Mini-camp is really cool too. The playemaker control is the best thing since the Xbox. The only thing that is better on 03 is the secret teams like the monsters and marshalls. I almost forgot to talk about the EA sports bio. I really like the bio. If you like really cool football games then pick up these game. Oh ya if you wont a real good team then create a team and put all the good players on the team. Then you will be unstopable

I love this game but I'm a football history nut!! I like to type in the old players names and numbers in the old historic teams but you can only do 32 teams. I want to type in all of them but for some reason the XBOX says not enough memory give me a break theres plenty of memory(MAdden is the only game I ever played on my Xbox) This really pisses me off. Next year please fix this problem let as many teams possible be saved in export mode . I still love the game though.Please add more historic teams and wheres the Giants 00' team?

its a freakin' game, don't take it so seriously. Everybody is compplaining about how unrealistic the players are. "Oh, Michale Vick is unstoppable". Who cares, how would you like to play a game with every person not able to catch, run or throw, it would just be boring. Its neccesary to make some over the players better to make the game more exciting.
And, if you are complaining about the graphics, how about you make a football game with better graphics. Then you can whine about how bad these graphics are.
I loved this game, and i can't wait to get 2005. 2004 is the best football game ive played by far, because, there are so many different modes to choose from, francjhise makes this game replayable over and over again. Online play is a great way to communicate with other players, and learn new strategy, (ecspacially if you have a headset),and play now mode is really fun when you are just playing with a friend.

I've been playing this game for 4 months now and have evolved into a near unstoppable player and this is why: Madden 2004 is a nice attempt at a football game, and like the others before it, falls short at creating a realistic football experience. Sports is a hard thing to duplicate. It's impossible at this time to write limited computer code that simulates human response. There's too many "auto" plays. The run defense is horrible.
Madden has made "uber" players that defy realism. Michael Vick is rediculous. You can litteraly run the ball every down with some running backs the whole game and you can't stop them. Some play books include indefensible quick pass plays that drive you crazy. Uber wide receivers catch passes in tripple coverage (a quarterback wouldn't even throw that ball in real life, that's how unlikely it is).
The defensive play book is weak. Why are you limited as to what defenses you run? For instance, if you pick a 46 defense, you will lose important plays out of your 4-3 defense, nickel etc. There's no way to have the right play for every situation like a real NFL team would bring to a game. Do you really picture Bill Parcells telling his defensive coordinator "hey we need a play to guard the flats", and the DC saying "oops, sorry didn't bring that one today, touch luck". No.
Offensive playmaker is unfair. There is no equalizer for it on defense. For instance, Vick can run around for 20 seconds (he's that fast) and bring a guy in that was 50 yards down field toward him and he's uncovered every time. There's nothing you can do but send a blitz and hope he doesn't see it (which he just runs from that too).
If you're looking for an unrealistic "arcade" football expereince this is for you. However, if you are educated in football schemes do not play this game because you won't be able to apply football logic.
I gave it a 5 for pretty graphics and cool sound. Other than that I have no use for it.

I play this game on all-madden computer ai's all the way up and i can still use the same plays and they work all the time but, i noticed that if you blitz two on one side using 4-3 the computer QB will panic and run right into the line and get sacked, so when i play the season with friends, and they do that all game i find that to be a bunch of b.s.

it is a better game but u would expect that by now it could be a lot better so many things like defense and how when u play the computer and they r in the 2 minute drill and they score every time with a 80 yard drive in 45 seconds with a no huttle offense u cant stop it but next year it will be even better (i hope) even the owner mode needs some touches but other then that it is a good game to play
the play maker control is very good except for gamecube cause when u run and try to use the playmaker control ur too busy holding on the A button for ur turbo and cant reach the control stick so it is a good game but if u buy it id buy it for PS2

And plus playmaker oh ma i always wanted to send player deep when hes actually running a cross route.Owner mode is awesome i was the St.Loius Rams and i moved them all the way to Anchoragte Alaska. So all i have to say is Madden is a GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
