A great Game.... | | Wrath from NYC says (8/Aug/2003): | Mace Griffin: BH for PS2 is an excellent game. While I hear HALO is just amazing I am not inclined to go out and buy a Xbox for just that one game. The AI in it is actually a little disturbing, with men realizing you are sniping them begin to remain in constant motion to avoid you well....sniping them. The NPCs are very agile doing side rolls (Something you seem to have absoultely no skill at yourself) and ducking (Something you can do. It is a good thing that the NPCs are fairly bad shots with precision weapons cause if not? You'd never get through this game. One upsetting factor is in the controls.....The programers do not allow you to truely customize your controls. And what's worse....YOU ARE FORCED to use ground movement control in one really practical way. It will not allow you to combine you forward and backward motions with turning motions on the same stick. Yes they say they giv you the option....But when you switch it the best you get is simultaneous forward backwards with pitching the same time up of down (Not good if you want to do anything). Or, movememnt forward and backards and strafe....Kind a suck and takes some etting used to. Aside from this the game plays smoothly thought loading between segments seems a bot long considering the PS2s processing power.
The game is just great. I do wish it were more gory though....Just wish someone would program a game where if you shoot someone in the head you see sopping chunks od brain matter on the linolium...Hell even someone to run out and lick it up.....The games great.....It is one of the best 1st person shooters I have ever played and there are times when silent scope tactics work and piss and vinegar charges work better. The sheer versitality of having to pick and choose your testoterone vs your intelligence combined with some very savy AI makes the game worth it. Oh and as far as sneaking around? Forget it....As soon as you're in a vicinity of NPCs, they must pick up your rancid BO from being in jail with no shower cause they no where and how to shoot at your ass. But hey...I did mention they were pretty lousy shots....And good thing cause a lot of times they are en masse'. Buy it. And kill kill kill....And then kill some more. I wish somepeople I know who deserve killing were in this game.........It would then serve real purpose. But oh well.....I can imagine....
