It still needs work | | DirectAndy from Cincinnati, Ohio USA says (6/Jan/2004): | As far as arcade racing goes thunder rules but when it comes to being a true simultaion they once again dropped the ball. the feel of it lacks anything realistic. Rival mode? come on. stuff like that would get drivers parked. If you want a toy then this is the game for you. If you want a simulation then there is a certain Nascar PC game that has been out for a year and no its not made by EA.
| One Of EA Sports' Best | | Robert from Phenix City, Alabama says (6/Dec/2003): | Without Doubt Nascar Thunder 2004 Is the best Looking Game in the Series.Its Grudges and Alliances make for Better racing and More realistic Reactions as If you were Really racing and Spun someone out or You hit There car.EA Sports Bio in all the 2004 Installments are great,It makes You work for Your Thunder plates alot harder this Year(Only available on XBOX).Its trophy room allows You to Look at all the hardware You've Manage to Collect Season to season. There are many more new Features such as Speed Zone, More advanced career mode, and a better season mode.It cant Get much better than this, I hope you enjoy this game as much as i did.

I got under Kurt Busch and spun him out earlier in the race so I could pit under caution (hehehe). When I was leading a race and on the very last lap, Busch, being a rival, took me out and put me into the wall. I was more than a little ticked off but it is as real as it gets. WOW!
Also, with the sound going through the home theatre system, it's a great experience.
| The Best Ever | | Evan B. from Durham,ME,USA says (1/Nov/2003): | This Game is my New Favorite Game. The Grudges and Alliances is the best idea of EA Sports. Career mode is very tough too. The trophy room is awesome so now I can see all 24 of my trophys that I got in just two seasons in season mode. Speed Zone is really helping me be a better racer. I love it. Lightning Challenge lets you relive all kinds of different races. The graphics are the best part of this game. I love the Thunder Licence also.

| The Best Keeps Getting Better | | David from Yukon, Oklahoma says (25/Sep/2003): | Well, I love this years version of Nascar Thunder, Its awesome to have a trophy room, The career mode finally makes you have to drive ex, no full assist on, love it, The Primer cars are also a nice touch, along with RIP more Dale Earnhardt Sr, Paint Schemes. Also Online, Lovely touch. Well im off got more races to run and more plates to unlock.

I love how all the people get back at you and the whole idea of the ally/enemy thing and also I don't like the font on this game. When I sit in my chair to play it I barely can read it but overall----GREAT!

The game sports several improvements over NT03, such as driver personalities, better road courses, and ever more realistic car behavior. In this version, the best features from 03 are held over, such as the career mode and the lightening challenges, though the latter are reorganized somewhat with differing levels of difficulty within the same scenario. The alliances/rivalries is stunning, and really livens up the gameplay, while having the drivers sport their own faces during the victory celebrations only adds to the authenticity of the game. My gripes are few, and list as follows: The graphics are a mixed bag so far as I can see. The cars and scenery look even more realistic now than in 03, but the increased detail makes the screen a little choppy in places, something I never noticed in 03. Also, the colors are very bright and contrasty, so much so that I had to adjust my TV so the graphics didn't hurt my eyes. I really don't like that the controls have been reconfigured; now I'll have to figure out how to reprogram my wheel to accomodate the moved shifter buttons. The steering is also very precise, so much so that just going in a straight line is somewhat difficult. Finally, some of the voices sound rather crappy, such as the announcers who replace Joe Moore and Barney Hall at some of the tracks. Still, the game is astounding, and should provide the same entertainment value as 03 has for the past year. I definately recommend it.
| This game is looking good ;-) | | Robert from Naples, Florida USA says (18/Sep/2003): | Nascar thunder 2004 has made a great improvment since last years version..on of the biggest new feature is the grudges and Alliances system..for those of you who are clueless about what that is, its basically if you hit a AI car chances are you are gonna get paid back whether it be the next lap 10 laps , 20 laps, or the next race.It only carries over to the next race is you are playing career or season mode.This years Installment also includes 40 new lighting challeges, Micheal waltrip hosts all of the challeges as he interviews the driver who you are to beat the challege with.Also another feature is mini games to help perfect your skills on the track, among the mini games are drafting, blocking, and passing.Also in this years game you could earn more thunder plates, such as paint schemes, drivers, and cheats to help you out on the track.The graphics has made a great inprovement this year from last years installment, in example, the damage on the cars look alot more realistic, smoke is more realistic by lingering around longer.One last feature i wish to include is the victory lane celebration, the drivers face looks alot more like the real thing than last years, in example Ricky rudd has grey hair not brown such as displayed in last years game.Another example would be facial hair like displayed on Dale Earnhardt Jr or like the mustache on Terry Labonte, any way you look at it this years Game had made a great Inprovement, i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.
