Fun slugfest; no thinking required... Which is nice. | | H.F. Chessman from Concord(NH)U.S.A. says (8/Nov/2003): | Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu is a very good game. The graphics are great, and the soundtrack compliments the fighting nature of this game nicely. Unlike other Batman video games, this one doesn't focus on finding keys to unlock doors, or freeing characters to lead you through the game. There aren't any puzzles in this one, and it doesn't require you to really think. The main fun of this game is its combat. Each level consists literally of fighting varying henchmen while freeing nameless hostages/disarming bombs in a limited amount of time. What makes this game so appealing is the fact that you really don't need to think in order to play. Once I started playing, I actually thought the game would be bad because of its lack of thinking. As I continued to play, though, the game became very fun BECAUSE of the fact that I didn't need to think that much. The only drawbacks I found were the awkward camera angles which wouldn't move with you (hiding the foes which suddenly pop out of the edge of the screen once you move left/right), and the fact that the storyline was just as simple as the gameplay. Gameplay is one thing, but I was expecting a cool story with it. Lastly, when the game does begin to get stale, all you need to do is play as another hero like Nightwing, and that makes the game fresh again.
