Xbox Live is the name of this game. |
| Mitch from Atlanta, GA says (27/May/2004): |
RS3 is an excellent single player experience, but it really shines in Xbox Live multiplayer mode. The single-player campaign is fun, and the visuals are awesome. The dynamic lighting casts some cool-looking shadows and really adds to the overall atmosphere of the game. The Unreal engine has never looked so good on a console. If you don't have Xbox Live, you may not want to invest in this game as that is where the real fun is found. Online matches come in a variety of flavors: sharpshooter, survival, team survival, and a number of co-op modes. If you like online shooters, you won't be disappointed here. Be sure to try and find people who are about at your skill level to start, or you'll spend a lot of time dying. Definitely give this game a rent, but if you have Live, then you should buy it for sure.

Great Game, but no multiplayer, only online.... |
| Garry from USA, Fresno says (18/Apr/2004): |
I think Rainbow 6 3 is a great game! It has cool graphics, great features, but you cant play multiplayer without xbox live. For me, that kinda sucked, owell its still a cool game. I really liked the missions and campaigns, it felt like I was actually there.I also liked the different guns, gernades, and other stuff.

Extremely awsome but far to realistic |
| Angus Newhouse from Kennewick USA says (17/Feb/2004): |
This game had really good controls. That is a very important aspect to me. It was pretty close to being along the lines as Halo. So if you want controls like that then these are set up as close as they can. The graphics in this game are gorgeous especially the cinimatics (like in Splinter Cell). The game runs smoothly and the single player missions provide alot of challenge. If your one of those losers who likes a really easy game that you can beat in a day and be done with, DON'T GET THIS GAME! For every one else I reccomend this game. The only two major problems are: It's to damn realistic. It takes only like two shots to kill you or one of your teamates. On xbox live it can get really ugly because of this. The other thing that I hated was the fact that there was no split screen. The only multiplayer you can do is on xbox live (wich is still fun nevertheless). But this game would have been golden if there had been split screen. But if you are a strong gamer who dosn't have many friends or really loves xbox live then this would be very cool for you. I would rent this game, see how you like it (you probably will) and then buy it!

THE BEST TOM CLANCY GAME |
| Rob from Vancouver says (23/Jan/2004): |
excellent all round game a mix of ghost recon and splinter cell with a brilliant first person shooter twist... Excellent work... I thought that the maps were well done and the commands for the game were awesome. I think the live gameplay is awesome but i feelt that the only misshap in the game would be the elo on live which is a bit glitched but other then that a FANTASTIC GAME.

Tom Clancy\'s Rainbow Six 3 |
| Jimbob from Thousand Oaks (CA) United States says (6/Dec/2003): |
The game was totally different for other FPS that I played. I was only able to get it when my mom saw that the whole point of the game was not to blow people's heads off(but I like that to) but it was also to neutralize terroist (pardon my spelling). Overall this is probably the next best thing to Halo or Splinter Cell.

Rainbow Six 3 contender for game of the year!!! |
| Ian from Yuma, AZ says (25/Nov/2003): |
When I bought Rainbow Six 3, I got it because I have seen other Rainbow Six games in the past and this is no different. The FPS mode is outstanding along with the selection of weapons at your disposal and the storyline and complexity of the missions makes this game very challenging and will tick you off at times. Another great feature of the game is the realism, you are drawn into the game as Ding Chavez. the controls are very easy to learn and giving your team commands is very simple. This game has got it. It will make you think about strategy and execution down to the last round in the chamber. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of games of this calibur. This is worth the 50 plus bucks I paid and it would be to you too.

Too Damn Real!! |
| Saint George from Liverpool UK says (14/Nov/2003): |
At first glance, the stunning extremes of the graphics leave us breathless. Tom Clancy's famous attention to detail makes the game's atmosphere astonishingly real, from the clatter of the machine gun right down to the affects of a flash bang. Most games give you a selection of specialist weapons, yet here we can choose guns out of personal preferance from a pletora of real life weaponary.
The use of commands in the game gives it even more realism as you attack the enemy from two directions. Order your team to breach a door on your command, and assualt the foe from the rear.
The downside? Bullets do exactly what they say on the clip. There is no Halo shielding, no Max pain pain killers nor do your guys have offensive amounts of health. So this leaves you with one option. Do it buy the book and more importantly as the real thing would.
Oh and voice recognition system is really worth it. 9/10 times it works. Works better with a scottish accent but either way be prepared for total realism.
Just remember its just a game!

Absolutely Rocks!!!! |
| Michael White from Calgary, Alberta, Canada says (12/Nov/2003): |
Anyone that is a Tom Clancey Fan, must buy this game. The Graphics are incredible. The replay value is very high with the online aspect and all. Trust no one but believe me when I tell you, you will not be wasting your money buying this one! It truly does kick major booty!

Great single player, but Live! could be better. |
| Ciryon from Helsinki, Finland says (9/Nov/2003): |
The single player missions are the pearl of this game. Also the co-operation missions via Live! are great fun. The visuals are great in a splinter cellish way, but the sound world is dull.
Weapon sounds are b-grade, but the echos liven things up.
The lack of team vs. team multiplayer MISSIONS (bomb defuse, hostage) is a large minus for the multiplayer. Team survival mode is the best available team mode in the game, but it gets dull after a while.
Ubisoft dropped the mission modes from the multiplayer, but all we can do, is hope that they will make these available trough content download.
The lifespan could be long, IF there will be enough downloadable multiplayer maps. The single player missions are not the same every time around, because the terrorists change positions. But still, I believe, that it will get old very, very soon.
The controls are basic consol FPS. But the fun part is that you can control your team trough the microfone. It will get hilarious after a time, when you shout: "open, frag and clear on zulu".
Overall, the future of this game is in the hands of its makers.
If Ubisoft will support this game with new maps, missions and gamemodes, its score could riso to full ten!
