"BEST GAME EVER"- quote from the simpsons comic book guy | | $Teddy$ from Milwaukee- South Side says (14/May/2004): | First off i have to say something to Kato from Duncan, South Carolina the a$$clown. He wrote a review saying that he didn't like the "third person view" in deus ex. Next time you play deus ex Kan'to maybe you should tell your mother to stop licking your b< remove me > at ll$ so you can pay attention to deus ex and notice IT'S A FIRST PERSON VIEW GAME dumb< remove me > at $$. Now after everybody stops laughing at Kat-"O i'm g< remove me > at y!!" i will get to the review. Deus Ex 2 is one of the best games of 2003 and on xbox (right under halo). Deus Ex is a cold FPS.
Story- "BEST VIDEO GAME PLOT EVER"
One of the reasons i love this game so much is because of the story. It begins with a "terrorist attack" in Chicago (MIDWEST!). You play as Alex either male of female verson, a subject at tarsus. Anywayz long story short it's about a post collapse society in which serval factions want the world run by their ideals. But as I knew and you will find out, almost all of these factions are really the same order, the real life order of the illuminati (just ask our president bush jr he's in it). The illuminati play all sides so that they know they will achieve their goals. It's the best plot ever in a video game period. I can't even tell you the story just get deus ex and find out yourself. I hate the illuminati and finally a game where you can kill members of the illuminati!!! YES!!!
Levels- Open game play
It's like GTA3, deus ex is totally open end. You can do basiclly what ever you want. There is no "levels" just cities or locations you travel to. Different people or factions offer you missions and objectives often coexisting with each other. The graphics make you feel like you are really there.
Weapons- very important in a FPS
As we know (not kato) deus ex is a first person shooter type game. In these games weapons are very important. Deus Ex as all the necessaries such as pistol, shotgun, S.M.G., rocket launcher, bombs, knifes, sniper rifle, mag rifle and others. The weapons are good and well designed. The only downfall is there is only one type of ammo in the game, so all your guns shares the same ammo. But that makes you use ammo more wisely. Plus you can virtually pick up anything and throw it around.
Graphics- Slow frame rate at first but then you don't notice!
Like I just said there is a slow frame rate on the first level but after that the graphics are really really good and that seems to disappear. Great graphics and it seems like you are really there.
Overall all this a the second or third best xbox game out right now (that will change shortly Halo 2 Doom 3 etc.). Good graphics Good locations Good Weapons Best Plot. This game is fun as hell and has a huge replay factor as it "never ever and I mean eeever" gets crappy or boring. Get this game fool before i freak your moma.
Tip: get the toxic blade in Dr. Nassif's apartment in seattle, its the best mele weapon because when you first strike a person they stand there and cough, just keep slashing untill they drop dead, they are defense less against the toxic blade.
| its ok | | A gamer from germany says (23/Jan/2004): | well its sorta boring u dont shoot much.it takes so long to kill someone on easy!u beat the game ur done there should multi-player.the video graphics arent that good.but it gets fun when ya get far.its more of a rent game.so dont go buying the game until u play it.
| excellent game? yes. worthy sequel? maybe. | | MItch from Atlanta, GA USA says (10/Jan/2004): | I was huge fan of the original Deus Ex, which I actually played on PS2, so this game was the reason I bought an Xbox. When December 3rd finally rolled around I was chomping at the bit to play this game. I had heard some bad things about the framerate on the Xbox version, but I decided not to let anyone else influence my opinion. When I started playing, I found that the framerate was a bit sluggish, but it wasn't enough to detract from the gameplay at all. The physics and lighting in DX2 are amazing! The story is excellent and keeps you interested the whole way through. It is truly a work of gaming art, but it may best suit players who appreciate great game design rather than the casual weekend button-mashing players. I do have some small complaints, though. What happened to the skill points? That was one the greatest parts of the first game. There are a few glitches here and there, too. Why doesn't a head shot at point-blank kill an enemy? There was one time where my character fell completely through the floor texture into an endless oblivion, so I had to resart my Xbox. I just don't like how the gameplay has been dumbed down to appeal to more casual gamers. They should have left the gameplay the same as it was in the original, but all in all DX invisible war is an experience not to be missed by the true game players.
| * * * * * * * * * * | | Star Fright from Georgia says (26/Dec/2003): | Better than the original, DEUS EX INVISBLE WAR put frankly, rules! Its my favorite game of 2003 and one of the best games ever. I like it and you can pick your own charector with skin color and gender. You can customise this game and choose your path. What I like about this game is that its original and refreshing and it really isn't boring. What I don't like about this game? Uh the graphics arent as good as games like Splinter Cell. Who cares though? Buy this game. It rules.
| He's one bad motha, | | Kato from Duncan, South Carolina says (11/Dec/2003): | All I have to say is Wow!! This is by far one of the best games to hit the Xbox console this year. I never played the first one, but after playing through Invisible War I have changed my Christmas list.
In Deus Ex: Invisible War you play as Alex D (man or woman), a graduate of the Tarsus academy who has been biologically enhanced with modifications. It seems as though Tarsus has been using you as a guinea pig for their experiments, but that is up to you to deceide. There are a number of different paths you can choose (missions for WTO or the Order). You are also given a bunch of side missons to mess around with all in the hope of earning some credits so you can buy yourself more Black Market Biomod canisters. I found myself getting so addicted to collecting Biomod canisters that I now have to sit in on a couple of rehab sessions.
All jokes aside though, Deus Ex: Invisible War really has just about everything you could possibly want in a game. Gorgeous graphics, immaculate gameplay, supperior sound, complete originality, and a lifespan that puts Dick Clark to shame.
Lets start with the graphics. The environments are so beautifully detailed that you find yourself getting lost in the futuristic "post-Collapse" atmosphere. The game's graphics combined with the Third-person perspective (which i have to say i didn't like when i started playing it but realized the game could not have worked any other way) immerse you completely.
The sound in the game is so crisp and clear that you actually feel as though you are walking through the terminals of the New Cairo enclave or the streets of Trier (just to mention a few locations).
Gameplay is not completely revolutional, but there are a few interesting parts. The most phenomenal aspect of the gameplay (and my favorite) has to be collecting Biomod canisters and upgrading your skills. You have five seperate parts of your body that you can upgrade, and within those five parts are three different skills. You are allowed to simultaneously upgrade the five seperate parts of your body, but you may only choose one of the skills within each and upgrade it to a maximum level of three. Also, if you find that a skill you have upgraded is not working out for you, you can start upgrading another skill. If you do this, though, all the biomod canisters you devoted to that first skill will be lost. This keeps the gameplay interesting and gives the game longevity as well. If you feel that you need a certain skill in the middle of the game in order to get past a part, you can just slap a biomod cannister in there ( given that you have one). I do have one complaint about that. As i started the game i found that i had some tought decisions to make as to which skills i would upgrade. About half way through the game i had found so many Biomod canisters that it took a litte bit of the strategic aspect out of the game (don't get me wrong though, biomods rock).
After you play the game through one way (ex- stealthy, bot dominator), you may want to play through another way (in your face, computer hacker). There are many different ways that the game allows you to play through, the path taken is up to you. Your actions will determine how a certain group feels about you (which doesn't matter. You'll find out in Trier). One tip I must give you- help out the Omars, this will get you great deals on Blark market Biomod canister which are the best ones in the game and the most expensive (regular ones you don't have to pay for), and some great prices on other items, such as EMP grenades or Multi-tools. This game will give any hardcore RPG player hours of fun. It also has the best elements of a FPS, but will take a little brain power. The only thing that keeps me from giving this game a perfect score is the fact that it is so short. This game clocks in at about twenty hours and could have been alot longer, story-line permitting. But given the fact that there are many ways in which to play the game through boosts it's longevity up to moderately high.
All in all, this is a must have game for any owner of the big black box, and at a price of $49.95 it's an absolute steal for such a fantastic game. Okay I have to go now, my rehab sessions start in twenty minutes.
