one of the best games ever | | kyle from Batesville says (29/Jan/2005): | This game is by far one of the best games i've ever played. the only game i have that i like better is SOCOM, but thats not the point. the creators obviously put alot of work into making this game. As far as the graphics go, this game whoops all the others by a longshot. The gameplay is also really,really good. When hunting in africa, i was jumped by a rhino and got thrown probably fifty or so feet before i came back down. Being a hunter, one thing i noticed was how realistic the deer and coyotes behavior was, its freakin crazy, seeing as how i've never hunted cape buffalo or rhino before, i couldn't tell you about those. one fault i found in the game was how when you shot an animal on the run, it just stopped, and if you didn't kill it, it started running again.another thing was how the deer did a 360 when you shot and killed them, i've never seen that happen before, ever. The graphics were about the best i've ever seen for a video game, the blood, shooting, animal tracks and plants and stuff were about as good as it gets for video games. I got this game as a gift for my dad and he loved it, him also being a hunter, he noticed how good the graphics and gameplay were for this game. he just didn't think that the trophy beacon should be a feature on the game, i agree, it makes it too easy when hunting. the weapons choices are excellent too, my personal favorite is the .338 magnum. if youy like hunting and video games, you need to get this game.
| awesome game | | Deerslayer from salina ks says (30/Mar/2004): | this is a great game love the blood also nothing is funner then stalking a grizzley with my bow, the only down fall is u cannot climb up the mountians i guess that gives the animals an advantage, also the 519 waylays the whitetale about died laughing when the deer did a 360 in the air at about 150yds great game even my 4 yr old loves playing it it gives me time in between hunting season here in kansas to get ride of the gitters

I put it in my xbox for the first time and it always freezes when i go to career hunt. my xbox never skips nor is the disk scratched or dirty. Out of all my games Cabelas is the only one who messes up. But when i go to Quick hunt or action zone it works like new. By all means this game is the best hunting one ever. I nearly screamed when a leopard pounced on me while huntin in Africa. This game has a fun factor out of 10 i give it a 9.5. It would be ranked higher if it wasnt for career not working.

Any true gamer could tell that the graphics+gameplay in this game makes this a very great game for anybody. As soon as I put this in, I couldnt stop playing! Even my DAD likes this game!!!

| it kicks! | | Anthony from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA says (27/Dec/2003): | This is my 2nd favorite game from the stack i have, my favorite is Medal oh Honor Rising sun but thats beside the point.it's a good game and all but i hate the f*c*ing mountain lions!!!!!!!!! all they do is 50000 foot jump scartch 5000000 foot just scratch over and over and over besides the dumb mountain lions the game kicks. my favorite game to hunt is black bear and i love smokin them with my .510 magnum!!!

This has to be the greatest gaming breakthrough ever. The graphics are wonderful, both for the animals that you are hunting and the environment around you. And that is just the start.
Attacking animals will make you jump out of your seat when you least expect it. The predators that stalk you while you try to bag an innocent white tail add a much needed twist to an otherwise dull and wore out concept. And realism? This game has got it for sure. All the fine points and details have been worked out. Large animals require a larger weapon, etc. And there is certainly no such thing as a lucky shot!
The game itself is incredibly fun and exciting to play, although also extremely difficult, which only adds to the excitement of the gameplay. Whether you are a hunter by trade or not, this would certainly not collect dust in your game collection.
The single best quality of this game is the pricetag. It is unbelievable that a breakthrough of this magnitude has been released to the public for the mere price of $29.99 U.S. That combined with all of the quality, hard work, and true to life craftsmanship that has obviously been put into this game certainly make it a viable candidate for Game of the Year 2003.
