A must have for the XBox | | 2Color Shoe from Mustang, Oklahoma says (23/Dec/2003): | Wow. This game is amazing. The pure amount of stuff that is in this game may blow your pants off (and quite possibly your shirt as well). There are 241 songs in this games soudtrack. It includes rap, rock, hip-hop, jazz, techno, wierd Japanese stuff, etc., etc., etcetera... There are 102 cars; enough to make the average car enthusiast drool. They range from the Mini Cooper S, to the Porche 911, and all the way to the oh, holy Enzo Ferrari. There is also an astounding amount of tracks avaliable for use. Ninty-One to be exact. That should keep you busy for a while...
All of these cars and tracks are gracefully modelled with the utmost detail with extremely high res everything.The buildings are all in 3d and the cars are super shiny (we like shiny).
But, as we all know, graphics don't make the game; and I'm proud to say the gameplay is almost flawless. The origional "Kudos" system from the origional has been tweaked to perfection. Tappingthewall won't lose you all of your hard earned points now. Computer controlled players still stick to a pretty fine line throughout the race; but that one slight drawback the huge replayability this game has.
The multiplay with system link and XBox LIVE is also a sure winner. You could actually just skip the whole single layer experience altogether and LIVE it the whole time.
My conclusion is this. Buy it now. If you don't have an XBox buy one and get it. If you don't have enough money, sell your couch, your house, your sister; anything to get this. I highly recommend this to racers and, (suprisingly) even non-racers alike.
| NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF XBOX (yes, i tried to be funny) | | music_maniac1965 from delft/zuid holland/netherlands (dutch) says (28/Nov/2003): | after a few hours of racing i finaly could put down the gamepad. they have changed the controlls for the better. if you liked project gotham racing, you will absolutely LOVE this. the kudo's system is back, but improved (for instance, you won't lose kuddo's by hitting a car, and you also gain kuddo's for driving a proper racing line trough a corner. combo chains are also possible, like linking a good drift to a perfect line.) the car's look good, and reflects the surroundings of the tracks. the first thing you will notice is the amount of detail that is on the houses, skyscrapers, and everything. bridges look superb too ! the tracks are way more varried than the tracks in PGR, and even the water looks amazing. and that for a racing game that needs all its polygon's for the car's and tracks. even with the slower car's you get in the beginning of the game you get a exelent sense of speed.
i also have need for speed underground. its hard to choose between them (i got the pc version of nfsUG) but both games have exelent graphics, and tight gameplay. this is surely a wonderfull time for racing game fan's !

Good graphics, 3D, except if you slow down enough to look at them then you can tell. The cars look real, they have all the curves and shine of the real ones, I haven't found one thing bad about PGR2, besides that it takes many hours, many, 40 hours to be exact just to get a steel medal in every thing in the Kudos World Series, you get to pick your music too. If you just like to look at the cars you should get PGR2, There were more cars there than I ever could dream of. 102, It all pays off in the ned you get to race on a 20km track in germany that is sweet.
