| This game is just like Vin Diesel......sort of. | | Mitch from Atlanta, GA says (29/Jun/2004): | Just like Vin Diesel, Chronicles is one bad mofo of a game. Riddick surpasses almost all other console games in a number of areas like, graphics, genre-melding, atmoshpere, story, and srtaight-up action. It is an amazing ride from start to glorious finish. You are Richard B. Riddick, the universe's most wanted criminal, and you've been locked up in Butcher Bay, the universe's toughest slam. Sounds intersting, right? Well, it is. CoR sports some of the most gorgeous lighting effects in a console game, and everything rendered in the game casts a realistic shadow of it's own. All character models and objects are normal-mapped (fancy talk for "awesome looking") and it really adds to the "I'm locked up in the universe's toughest prison" feeling. The gameplay consists of sneaking, neck-breaking, fist fighting, platforming, shooting, and interacting with NPCs. This is a game that covers all the bases, as far as gameplay is concerned. There are some excellent action sequences in Riddick, too. My only complaint is that the game literally took me 6 hours to finish, which isn't exactly worth the $50 I spent on it. Definitely rent this one as it was one of the coolest, most fun games I,ve played in a long time. You should only shell fifty bones if you are a huge Riddick fan. Don't miss the bus on this one, though, because it's an awesome exerience. Trust me, I play a lot of games and Riddick is one the year's best so far.
