I rarely pay $50 for a game, but I'm glad I did. | | Alex from Woodway, TX says (24/Oct/2004): | This game is tough to review. I'm not a big X-Men fan, as in I don't know everything about any characters. So this game made me feel right at home, character bios are spread throughouot the whole game so I never fealt out of place.
The graphics are different, kinda plain until you check them out on an HDTV on 720P then they really shine. The sound is strong, with alot of bass kicked around. The controls are simple enough that you won't have to wrestle with them.
However where this game really shines is in the gameplay. If you like games like Dark Alliance, Champions of Norrath, etc... then you will love this game. It has the same play elements, just with X-men characters and storylines. The first hour seems like a grind, but once you start raising your levels on all FOUR of your characters then you will be flying high. That's right you can control four characters out of 15 at once.
Get this game, because I can't say enough good things about it!
| X-cellent game! | | Al from NYC, USA says (31/Oct/2004): | If you like role-playing games with lots of action, this title is for you. Don't be fooled by the term "role-playing". It is also a non-stop action game as well!(At times) Building the hero's abilities is challenging and fun. You don't have to like comics to love this game. My only problem with this game is that the graphics could have been a bit sharper, especially during the cinematic scenes. Sound is very good, but I would have liked to hear the voices from either the TV series or the movie. Patrick Stewart is there as well as some big name stars. This game will have a good replay value because of the mini games included. Like a multitude of danger room senerios. I can't wait to get home sometimes and play this game, and I'm 35 years old. All in all, this game rocks BUB!

| | A gamer says (14/Oct/2004): | Finally they make a great multi player game. Ok the best part about X Men Ledgends is that it isn't another stupid movie game were it follows the movie to a tee like spider man 2. This is truely a game for the fans, even though the graphics are of Game Boy quallity, it makes up for it with the fully interactable back grounds. As the game goes on it does get very repetative fighting Morlocks is no different the fighting Acolytes but it is a great game to sit and play with friends.
