I know a lot about cars, yes these cars are FAIRLY realistic, no matter how hard a computer programmer will work and try to make everything perfect, it wont be! theyre given diagrams, models, tables and pages and pages of data and blueprints on the cars... they cant model EVERY lil thing to the letter..
i've ridden in a lotus elise that did a 9 second 1/4 ET and i didnt know until then (i was 16 then) that a car coul smoke rubber for half a track...
then the owner dropped me off at his brothers...
that day i rode in 3 chargers all pushin 9 seconds with no nitrous..
2 chevelles pushin 10.5--s in full street trim!
and one lovely black and silver 68 camaro (the upgraded suspension was nice in 68 over the 67)
that did a 9.75 with i believe he said a supercharged 572 big block on straight high octane.. there was nothing uncomfortable about the camaro, all street trim, a few gauges extra, fuel pressure, A/F ratio, a new tach etc..
i been tryin to work on getting my own car to do that too... i dont play favorites usually with cars, i have my favorites yes i do... Rx-7s, Camaros (1st gen), Chevelles (1st 2 gens), Novas, late 60s, Mustangs... and of course a few 'super cars' tho the RX-7 should be in that line up, the 94 topped at 185MPH with a original price tage in the mid to high 20Ks
IN ANY CASE... i love Sega GT2002 its fun, i just found a copy the other day, i been playing for 2 hours and already had the elise to about 160 on the track used for the first license test (not for the test of course... i wish tho) and i scored 16bucks off perfect... i love the slight annoyance of tires and parts, just like you would if it was in person..
you all put way too much focus on the LITTLE things that would drive you nuts...

Other than that and the lack of damage to your car , great game. I love the large selection of cars , and the fact that you can load your self with money , pritty quickly. I when from black fiat Punto , tuned so much is burnt out the muffler within 10 races , to a fully pimpped lotus Exege , meaning the races are very differnt , each time you race , making the experiance better , each and every time your set foot into your car. I have tried and tested LOADS of rivel car games , and have never come across such a fun and edgy game as this , I will give anyone £100 , who can provide me with a game , better , than this. The story line and Garage setting , are a great plus in this game , a main noticable differnce from most car games. I have to say , I particualy like the option to buy thing to put in the garage! Tuning , building and re-working your car , just adds to the fun of this story lined game , I have spend many an hour on the game , racing in the classic cars , as well as in the supercar championship , and though this game is edging on outdated , its still the number 1 in my collection.

this game is the best my friend owns it and me and my brother go to her house every 2nd weekend and we play this alot first we started with a peogeot and it did us good till we found out how to sell and raise the price thats when we were rolling in the doh my bro bought the camaroz28 suped that baby up and set off to the drag race and dame that car can go i think it is the best car for draging he beat the drag race on automatic it was that good sooo we beat that a couple times then one all the cars obviusly well i took the charger suped it up and he took the cheveel and did the same then i took my charger out of the garage and dame it had way to much power to race so sold it for 100,000,000, and guess what....it sold man bought supra twin turbo suped it up and it was awsome im sticking with the supra and then my bro sold the camaroz28 and bougt a corvette stingray suped it up and know were on the licence over the a licence whats that called again o ya s license were stuck on that for know its only because the car were not used to also the car selcection is great really great for sega also the audio/music/sound effects are extremly good i recomend this game to anyone who likes racing and suping up games i hope the make a new vesion of sega gt i think it whoops gt3(grand torismo 3) please e-mail me i also have msn so holla

First of all, the review that stated Sega GT 2002 runs laps around Gran Turismo 3 (i.e. Gt3 as stated in the review) is plain heinous. There is NO way that SGT2002 is better than GT3. First of all, the depth of GT3 is further than that of sega gt. gran turismo has license tests, car test, full-tuning ability down to the gear ratios, full-tuning lineup of parts and upgrades, over 200 more cars, better car physics, an abundance of tracks for both street and rally racing, different genres of racing (i.e. Touring cars, Formula racing, Grand Touring, American, Japanese, European)...i mean, the list goes on and on. Sega GT only embodies a partial amount of Gran Turismo and, even then, the things is does have in common aren't near the quality of Gran Turismo (i.e. compare the tracks of the two games or even the "touring" cars...yea, crap!). The game is only good for "practicing" before upgrading to a game like gran turismo. GT3 and soon, GT concepts and GT4, is the best racer of all time, hands down...anybody who disagrees can write me back on my email. The thing said my review must be more than 200 words so i'll add one more thing. Sega GT is too easy to beat. Once you've unlocked everything, you're pretty much done. I'm STILL working on Gran Turismo 3 and i've had the game for close to a year. It's much more detailed in aspect and a lot funner. I get bored of games that i finish with ease and Sega GT is one of them.

Well the game is fun but why oh why theres like no cars like BMW LIKE OTHERE CARS!And way the hek dose it say half spin when i only freaking skidded like two feet on a license test i mean come on make the game better god darnet i bet sega GT online is worse HAHA! So make up your minds peoples wisely.AND THE MOST EMPORTINLY THING ABOUT A GAME IS TO MAKE IT INTERESTING FOR ANY GAME! and one more thing to make a game you always have to havemany i mean many things to do like sega it only has one thing to do LICENSE TEST and yeah a little more but it is not enough thing for the game and as soon as you did that you beat the game lol.So i hope in a year or so they make a sega SS or some thing 2003 or 2004 and hope they would make it god darn better and at least make it a little bit louger.So any one that thinks that it allllllll thattttt isss real offfffffffff!!!!And please people dont just messb that you like it becuse theres one thing not write your voties that it is good well no its not ok deal with is please.

It took me a couple of tries to get a good season mode going but I finally got the cashflow going to keep up with my opponents. There's a decent amount of vehicles but some manufacturers are seemingly wasted (like Ford and Chevy, they each had only 2-3 different cars).
It's all about getting the Opel Speedster and building it up with super racing tires and all the other upgrades you can get for it. The car has nothing but handling and nice acceleration. Not much for top speed but so long as you know how to drive, you can own anyone out there with it. I've beaten the Corvette Z06 in the final race of the first season with the Opel Speedster, and that's obviously without all the upgrades.
It has its good points and its bad points and after finishing the season completely, there's nothing else to do. There's no replay value since the game's just long enough to make you want to never go through that again. The only fun thing to do afterwards, and even then it's not THAT fun, is make enough money to buy EVERY car in the game (and keep all the unlocked ones) and do full upgrades to every one of them.
One question, however, why is there no handbrake?

when i got my christmas pack i immeadiatly started playing sega gt. it was so exciting!! the grapics are brilliant and the sense of speed you get when driving in one of the best cars around the world is just awesome. also nearly all the cars in the game react differently when driving. but there is a major downside to the game. it just lacks depth and once it's completed, you got nothing else to do except trying to unlock the odd one or two cars. and it also lacks tracks you drive around in. they all feel samey because there all outside and they don't look like they are in different locations.
overall, sega gt is a great game but litle things can make a big difference.
could this be a gt3 beater. i think not

Sega GT 2002 is ridiculous in the best way. The game boasts superb graphic detail and unlimited replay value. It's a seemingly never ending game, it just keeps going and going no matter how much you complete. The only real flaw is the lack of tracks, they need more of them, as I see most agree with me. I noticed an individual spoke of having the Corvette Z06 fully tuned and saying it beats the Ford GT Concept. I beg to differ my friends..my main vehicle is the Ford GT Concept and it is fully tuned,and it beats the Z06 though I will say it's fairly close. But HP and torque wise the Concept kills the Z06. I have a good 750HP and something around 714ft-lbs of torque in mine. But anyhows the game totally rocks. It's wicked in all its entirety and I think Sony can take a hike,heh. Rock on Sega!

I got my xbox as a christmas present from my parents in 2002 and it came with sega gt 2002. Since I started playing the game I haven't been able to put it down. The graphics are outstanding, there is a wide variety of cars to choose from and enough races to keep you playing solid for at least five months. The license tests are quite hard but not impossible. I managed to get them all eventually, managing the SS license test by just over a second. Along with the standard cars there are a few secret cars that can only be unlocked by completing specific races. The game is incredibly large with the first season five stages long, each stage having multiple races in it, at the end of the season there is a world championship race to complete then another season of racing. Overall Sega Gt 2002 is a top notch racer that deserves praise heaped over it in bucketloads. The best racer on XBOX and any platform. Well done SEGA.

I was orignally happy with my ford gt40 down the 1/4mile doing about mid 9's then i decided to try the ford gt concept to see how this would go down the quarter mile and got 8.78 down it and thought this is mad. I looked up a site which told you all the real neat tricks of the quarter mile and discovered that if you start of in gear six then when you hit around 4000rpm shift it down to third and shift your way up the gears and then i ended up running a 7.56 in my ford gt concept. If you dont beleive me try it yourself, you will like it trust me!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is one of them cool games that are released rarely any person who owns an X-box must have this game. It offers hours of enjoyment. First you purchase a cheap car, then you upgrade it to make it faster. Then when it wont go any faster you buy a new car!!! Much time has been spent on creating this game and the graphics are exellent. This game lets the gamer control just about every aspect of the cars. I think that we will have to wait along time before a game this good will be released. Enjoy

Sega GT is about the best game i have ever played...the only thing about it that i would've changed would be the fact that it needed more cars, and more upgrades for those cars. as far as i'm concerned GT for ps2, really didnt interest me as much as SEga GT for xbox, it got a little confusing when came to adjusting the suspension and boose pressure and traction in ps2, sega gt made it simple and easy to understand. It's pretty cool that u can turn off the tcs and scs so u can do burnouts.

I own a ps2 and an Xbox and when it comes to racing games people think that gran turismo is unbeatable but to me i will go the other way and stick with Sega GT and the reason i am sticking with it is because for a few good reasons......
first off, i like the looks of the sega gt and the excellent physics of it way better than gran turismo 3 and the idea of you having your own garage and the option of you designing it with goods you can but at the used parts shop.
Sure gran turismo has more cars than sega gt but then when i start playing it i tend to think that its not a race at all....
it does not feel like as if i am racing in real life coz in my opinion these is because of the horrible A.I of the game.....
for example just when i am doing the perfect corner the A.I of the other cars bumps me fro, behind and these causes me to hit the wall......i mean like come on.....if it was the real driving simulator they wouldnt do that .....but luckily Sega Gt didnt follow this attempt instead they make it feel like you have to think when overtaking, take more care for your car thanks to the damage meter, and intentionally the computer thinks just like the same way you do....they only overtake you when they see an opening and not bump your car and make you fly around the course....anywayz for these reasons i will support SEGA........

i know a hole lot abaut cars and driving.#1)y have a red line if the car wont go into it?#2the cars seem a littel slugish as to reel cars.#3it would be very cool if you can raze the HP so you can burn ruber if you wont.and it would be nice to have a over the hood view to.when i play a racing game,i like to beabel to raze the car and my skill.one big mistake is not puting in the legindary AC cobras and mustangs.

I have a horribe past with racing games. At about six years old I just gave them up. But when my brother bought an X-box the first game we had was that demo disc with sega GT 2002 and Jet set Radio Future on it. Needless to say JSRF was fun for about five minutes but I never ended up playing sega GT. well about a year later I am bored with nothing to do and I dig out this relic of a game. Sega GT 2002. Immediatly I think it's gonna suck but I play it for a while anyway.
I was intertained for 26 hours of no sleep, non stop video game action from that game. (my priorities are in order) I rested and stayed up another 24 hours. It was unbelievable how much fun it was. screw football, here's MY new hobby!

i love this game it has nice cars a huge ammount for everything thats put into it all the cars the tracks the drag raceing ability on it the fact u can play a race and own it with the best car and then go to another race and have a huge battle and the reality of takeing the drivers test where u have to score its a all out game and im sick of these people talking about other games where you go around in a circle only turning left and haveing cars that look the same this game has brought something good to xbox and i love that and i love this game and tell you to go buy this game and play it to the end id tell ya what the best car but it would ruin it so find it out

The game is fun as hell if you don't mind spending time on the game and having
to exit every race and skip the replay. I have started three games. The first game I played
and beat it, I sold almost all of the cars that I won for extra cash. the 2nd game I tried to
get all the cars but had a hard time until I realized how to get them so I started a 3rd game
and now am getting all of the cars.
The game has a lot of cars but the majority of them ARE NOT ANY GOOD. for
example one of the cars in the cronical mode will only go 89 mph, my car in the drive
way will go faster than that and its a regular car, and there is a couple cars that have less
than 60 hp but some with alot more.
I don’t think they really need more cars like alot of other people do. and I am glad
there are not any porches or other cars like that like all the other racing games out there
I think that at some point you should be able to buy any car or at leased show
every car at the car shop so you can see it’s stats and they also should tell you how to earn
them . there are to many cars that are not in the car shop but are in the game.
They should have put alot more thought and effort in to the two player games. you
get to pick out of like five or six tracks. there are different variations of each track in the
game but in two player you get one, if there are more I don’t know how to get them. I do
like how you can use any car that is in any garage that is saved on the xbox.
The best car is the ford GT concept!!!!!! the viper is tied for worst car with the
ford GT90. the viper has no steering and the GT90 has 1200 hp maxed out but I don’t
know were the power goes, I know it doesn’t go to the tires
I did all the races with an automatic transmission even the license tests because I
use the right trigger for the gas and the buttons to change gears is backwards, the bottom
button changes the gears up and the button on the top changes the gears down, it just
doesn’t make much sense to me.
The reason I didn’t give the game 10 stars is because I have alot of CD’s on my
xbox and the game picked 4 I fought with it by moving songs on to those tracks and
rearranging them but it takes alot of time. Project gothem racing has the best way to set up the music.
The graphics are good and the sound is great. Most of the cars sound different but
the damage doesn’t show on the car I want to see dents scrapes pooped tires from were
and tare and I know most of these cars could do more than 40mph in the grass.

I got an kbox for Hannucah,and, as some people, got a demo disk w/ JSRF & Sega Gt 2002.I'm not really into sports but I love racing games! Sega Gt 02 is deffinantly a challenging game.I've started new games about 7 times and i still havent beaten the game! Now, dont get me rong, i am the king of racing games in my neighborhood, and am the proud owner of about 9 racing games, bu i just cant figure this game out! No matter how much i try, i always run out of cars to use.(New cars dont help!).My current game, i am the farthest ive ever gotten so far(Season 1/challenge 4).
The graphics in this game r great but the damage factor is stupid! Sure u get a meter, but ud think if u ran into a brick wall going 155 mph, ur car would at least slow down.I like the seletion of cars because alot of cars u cant race ion other games such as Fiat or Renault.But wut really anoys me abouthis game is that,if ur like me and ur really struggling,its hard to unlock new cars.The money concepts and ideas in this game i both like and dislike.i like it because it teachs u responsibility and not to throw away ur money.i dislike it because some of the car prices in this game r cheap,and im not just saying that! ive been on the internet, and a Lotus Elise Exige doent really cost $55,000 it feally costs $48,550.And,also,a 66 Jaguar E-type really only did cost $32,850.But this game is also very fun, especially for people who enjoy using strategy.But if they were making a 2.0 version of this game, and i could tell them 1 thing id say. Add more cars!Like Ferraris and Porsches and Lambos(Lamborghinis). and add more cars period! :) :(

I have been playing the game for awhile and i am on day 367. The game is pretty fun it is a lot like gran trismo fro PS2. I have fun playing it. My cars include: Lotus Exige,Ford GT Concept,Lotus Elise,Mercedes CLK,Camaro SS,Camaro Z28,Lancer Evolution III,Ford Mustang GT,Ford Mustang Muscle car,Lotus Esprit,Chevy Stingray Corvette, and maybe some more that i cant remember. Oh ya and i have an A license. This games graphics are amazing but the sound good use a bit more noise. The game can last forever if you like buying and suping up cars, which i do and find it very fun. The controls are simple and easy to get used to. It is worth every penny, I love this game and is a definent must have for Xbox.

guys u wanna know whats the best way to finish this game. then listen to u daddy here. find someone like ur brother, or cousin or even a friend who have an xbox and sega gt. Drag race with ur car and try to get the best time. Then tell him to break the record. Until he is not able to break it u can call ur self the king/champion of racing games. If he is able to break it he gets the championship from u.
Me and my friend do the same thing first he got hte time 10.546 and then i broke it. Right now i m on my 62 day and my best drag racging tiime is 7.25secs with this really awsome car. guess the car and try to break my record or ur friends.
TIp: when u start racing buy an evo and race and sell some cars so u have about $140,000 then buy a Z06 and upgrade it before u race. it is better if u can handle it manually. when u drive car manually u will learn some tips. If u r not able to find the tip u can go to cheatcodes and find my review and get the few tip.
good luck kick ur friends ass.
